Flow Free missing daily puzzle in P3XL app? - Google Pixel 3 XL Questions & Answers

I convinced my sister to get upgrade to this phone but right now she's pissed because the "daily challenge" isn't appearing in the Flow Free game she likes. I know nothing about it since I don't play it, but figured I'd ask here... Any one have any idea what's going on? Fwiw, she upgraded from a 2 year old Moto X or something.
Thanks

Light Flow LED control app?
If so, it either needs reconfigured for the specific app, or needs permissions to read notifications, or perhaps just doesn't work yet with Pie (the 3 XL version is different than whats shipped on say 2 XL).
Not sure why you would really use Light Flow now since there isnt an LED for notifications anymore, but I supposed could be used for some other things.

Sorry, Flow Free** not Light Flow! My mistake, like I said I no nothing about it lol.
edit: I hit up BigDuckGames and asked about the missing puzzle, they said the daily puzzles unlock after playing 10 levels in any game. She's got her daily puzzle now! :victory:

Glorious Praise For The HTC Flashlight App

Old news to most but I had to drop a post to give recognition. The HTC flashlight app saved my bacon last night, in the aftermath of the snow and ice storms that rolled through Ohio. It uses the LED instead of the screen. It gives various brightness levels. It is glorious and I thank you.
Notes for improvement: Ditch the cute flashlight icon and give me a variable brightness setting that uses as many brightness levels as you can pack into it. Allow dual or single LED use as desired or needed and allow infinite brightness within each LED.
It's not a flashlight app if it uses the damn screen and can't change brightness!!!
Nice to hear one actually uses the flash. LG doesn't offer anything like that. Well they've got a flashlight app, but it's just the screen. I had to use it last night working on our home PC. Worked ok, but not nearly as good as a camera flash one.
Agreed. Amongst all the hate HTC get, they sure know how to make a damn good Flashlight App. Been a life saver a few times for me too!
I am a drummer and can testify to the usefulness of the flashlight app on a dark stage when you have dropped the nut off the top of a cymbal stand!!!!
Unfortunately it does not work on the Mozart (says device not supported even though it is HTC) and they never bothered updating it.

There's noting to update. The Mozard has a Xenon flash - it can't be always-on. That's also the reason why there's no video light on the Mozart.
yeah, it's the exact same flashing light HTC Sense ROMs use (WinMo and Android), I've been using this flashlight app ever since the HD2 came out, and it works flawlessly in WP7 just as it does in other operating systems. I even have it set as a tile for easy access when I need it!

Anyone else think the notification light is useless?

I thought I was getting something that at least could compete with the LED on my Epic 4G, but this doesn't even come close. Especially when you consider we were told that the LED would light up special colors indicating what type of notification we were getting.
1. I haven't seen such functionality yet - a google voicemail, an email, a gmail, a text message, and anything else I've ever gotten for a notification all light up that multi-hued "white" color.
2. The damn thing "lights" only about .5 seconds out of every 7, so the odds of me seeing it are not good at ALL if I merely glance at it. I have to deliberately look at my phone for a good 5-7 seconds to make sure I'm not seeing a "light" that's merely not lit currently.
3. Why no light at all for charge condition? Every other Samsung Galaxy device I've ever used had this functionality. Red for charging, blue for fully charged. Absolutely zippy here for the Nexus...
WTF google, this thing might as well not exist
I agree that google should have put in some controls so we can control how and what color the light blinks but there is an app called light flow in the market that will allow us to do that. It's not perfect right now and it has some bugs it looks like working with android 4.0 but it should be fixed soon hopefully and it will work great.
Patience amigo. Perfection takes time.

I agree . I dont even get a flashing light when i have a missed call (unless i have done something to my settings) and as you say, i have only seen the white colour light....more or less useless for me as well !
I also think it should came built in.
Untill then download "Light Flow". All your wishes come true.
#2 From your list seems to be an obnoxious problem. Maybe someone will release an app that allows you to configure how frequent it blinks. Otherwise, once every 7 seconds is indeed pretty useless...
I find it funny how you guys are actually *****ing about this. Who here thinks a custom rom will change all of your that? I don't know about you but I didn't buy a nexus device to keep it stock. That's kind of like going to the red light district in Amsterdam and not getting laid.... just saying

You don't have to change the ROM if you don't whant. Only download "Light Flow". Or another similar app that does the same.
But I undersand that this is a basis thing of the O.S and for me it's trange that doesn't have it built in.
Less panoramic camera, face unblock, and more usful things like changing options of the LED.
Same exact story for Nexus One. Just ***** in the Google forum if there is one until they unlock the feature. In the meantime hope CM or someone like lilhermit unlock this feature for us like they did before.
It's the second best feature on this phone, hardware wise. The screen being one. Try using a Nexus S and an iPhone for the better part of this year. Then you'll understand how wonderful that little light actually is.
Everything else will come in time.
Third party apps guys.
Handscent for SMS...allows full customization of light colors and frequency...right down the the contact level.
Touchdown for emails....for customization of light colors.
Those are the only two I care about, but likely there are 3rd party apps for all of your needs.
Using the MoDaCo Rom and Trackball Alert.... This is one of my favorite things on this phone!!! Gmail>red Twitter> yellow SMS>Green Calls>orange I love knowing if its something important or just a tweet from some random blog
+1 for Light Flow. It's a brilliant app, have it set up to do about six different colours here depending on what notifications I get.
You weren't shown the phone having different colored leds out of the box. The Droid life video showing that was using the app light flow.

Does LED Me Know work on the GN? Tried it once on my Desire Z, I think the app has an option to change led colors and intervals.
As many have said, Lightflow will solve your problems. I'm not a fan of trackball alert that's included in Modaco's custom roms. You have to buy the pro version of trackball alert to get the same features as lightflow, and lightflow is free.
I do agree that colored alerts should have been included from the start, but after all, the GNex is a developer phone, so maybe Google realised it would be hacked in almost immediately so they didn't bother.
Not much of an excuse, but hey....
Dont forget about NO LED. Great program and works great with this phone.
I uninstalled Lightflow, too many "false alerts" for me. It would work, but i'd often find it stuck flashing white for no reason (no active notifications or unread mails/sms etc). I reboot was needed to clear it.
The tweetdeck app does flash the LED yellow without any extra faffing, which is nice. But yeah, more options would be nice.
Why would you use NO LED when you have an LED?
Any way to get a custom color in light flow for google voice?

[Q] Jittery/unstable accelerometer...

Just picked up my GNexus two days ago after upgrading from a hugely lag-tastic galaxy portal (spica to you US guys)
Loving it so far! got unlocked bootloader and root
the only issue I have is with the accelerometer in games...
when playing driving/flying games (need for speed/my paper plane etc) although the controls seem fine, there is a very noticable 'jittery-ness' with the visual aspects, for example the steering wheel in NFS.
is this likely to be a problem with the apps not supporting ICS or with my particular device? (either dodgy rom or hardware!)
if anyone can shed any light on the matter that would be great! I have another 11 days to return the phone to the store and swap it over for a new one, would rather not go through that if possible though!
so basically, to summarise, should I exchange my handset?
Hello. It's not a problem with your particular device. I have the same issue with NFS. I haven't tried other games.
You definitely can see it if you use "Google Sky Map". It ain't smooth
My neighbors G2x did this using Google Sky Map. His was all over the place while mine was jittery, but barely (within norm). Supposedly the kernel was causing it to go crazy. Later versions of CM7 seemed to stabilize it.
Mine is jittery too especially with sky map.... in older versions of android there was a calibration tool?

So am I having this problem... On Galaxy S II I'm able to calibration with an option in "display" sector but now I cannot find any clue...
Anybody any idea? I believe there is some way to fix it.
So does anyone know of a custom fix to this? Either through build.prop changes or maybe something we flash to our phones??

Pixel 2 feature, where you'll get the current playing song in the room identified on your lockscreen. Kind of like Shazaam or SoundHound, but automatically done. Google always listening

Oh that's right. It seems likely that we will get that as we have the lens in photos app, and anything else Google can figure out how to change server side. I notice a lot of people complain about this phone but I think it's incredible. I use a ton of different apps from different sources and haven't had many issues. I can't say none, but not many. A lot of it seems to be permission issues. When an app force closes on me I go to settings/apps and Grant the permission it needs and it usually works. I think a lot of people don't know to do this, how could they? Something Google needs to fix. I know this has no relevance to your response or even the topic, and I apologise, but I've noticed your name in quite a few of the same threads I watch, and figured I'd offer my opinion of why everyone is having issues with this latest update. It's not completely automated, and I think for some reason people have come to expect that. Just go to settings sometimes and check out what's in there. A lot of simple fixes. For everyone out there, all 15 of ya, lol. Jk

Issue with black crush, adaptive brightness, notifications, Hotmail issue? and other.

Hello everyone!
Hopefully you guys gonna understand that I just got this phone 2 days ago and been a iPhone user since Iphone 4! (Went from Iphone 7 to P2 XL) So I hope I don't get too much hate because hey, after all. I bought the Pixel 2 XL 128 GB
Anyways where to start.. It's been very hard to go from iOS to Android but luckily I studied abit as a software dev. where we learned few things with Androids so I did know some stuff atleast but there is quite good benefits with Pixel 2 XL that made me go :highfive::silly::victory:
The camera, I can just say Holy crap.. I never seen so good camera in my life on a small device like this! No doubt about it, The customization on Android where you can enable bluetooth, locations and all that is a really good one too and the screen is also really beautiful, There is so much stuff that I like with it but also some stuff I still need to learn and that's why I am here, and hopefully I can get the help I want and also hope it's not gonna be very long text aswell.
Problem:
[*]Adaptive brightness
This one goes banana, hopefully im not the only one but I have never seen anything more sensitive brightness as Google's, Changes every page / app you use and feels quite annoying as it goes up and down all the time and it just kills your eyes slowly. I did find an app called Lux Lite that helped me quite abit but with lower brightness takes me to the next point which is...
[*]Black crush
Black crush, For those who maybe doesnt know what it is, basically you can follow it up by watching this youtube clip: youtube[DOT COM]/watch?v=CYMRRn2Fu1s (Yes, im a newbie and joined today )
- Simply showing when you reduce your brightness, the dark color disappears and becomes totally black - The reason I want to use it is just against the night when very strong brightness kills your eyes just at bedtime. I usually check NBA and Twitch Just before I fall asleep, and now maybe it will sound racist but that's just love! Basically basketball players that are dark-colored and make them completely black and you only see their matchwear and it ruins a small part of the match.
I have looked into other videos and found that the issue is not only with Pixel 2 but also coming now to Samsung phones and basically the new Oled where the company gives a bad calibrations. Im not sure what Iphone uses if its AMOLED but look etc. at iPhone X, probably one of the best
detailing in dark areas of all phones that I have tried and sure I could have bought that phone but also i'm surprised this is not anything is talking about in any youtube reviews so I don't know whatsup with this but this is slowly making me go back to my iPhone 7... I hope im not the only one?!?!?!
I did find an app called Screen balance that helps it abit but I mean... 945$ for a Phone that I need an APP that I NEED to buy to make it look good?! Come on?!
But please, don't take this offensive now. It still gives a really good picture at high brightness! no doubt about it.
[*]Notification
Well, This might be a fix that someone that as more experience than me in Android now so basically I will make a construction of what I want and maybe someone can help me out?
Basically on Iphone there is a button on the left where you toggle to turn on or off the sound and what's happends basically is it just kills all sound if the toggle is on and what I did is that I turned off vibrations so basically I get everything notifications just without sound and vibrations AND thats what I want to make on the Pixel 2 XL now, What I have done so far is to hold the volume down button until it changes to Do not disturb and in the settings I turned on everything but now on the Screen "Where you just see the clock" it just sometimes gives me like small icons AND sometimes it gives me like a big notification like iPhone did.. but however, Is there another way I can do this like so its more instead of just the small icons (Search on Google - android 8.1 always on display) and to check? Because etc when Iam at work I can usually see if something pops out on the screen (Can even be a pop out for 10 sec) but now it can be very hard if it's only a small icon adding. Hopefully you understand ish what I mean!
[*]Email Hotmail issue?
This is a combination of notification and not, basically what I have seen this is not as fast response as Gmail, basically if I get a email from Gmail, the notification usually pops out instantly BUT when it comes to Hotmail, this can take over 15minutes until the email even comes to the Gmail app (Where I connected it with my Hotmail since it had that option). and I sometimes can't risk it when im waiting for a important email to come where I wait too long so I need to check pretty often manually to see if I get one.. Now the issue is I don't know if that is a issue when Don't distrub is on or if its the Gmail application, Does anyone have any solution for me here?
[*]Snapchat
Well what to say here, Im not sure but I do think this isn't a issue coming from the phone itself but Snapchat, The quailty is just awful, Im sure my Nokia 3310 would make a better picture than that on Snapchat :fingers-crossed: but anyways the quailty is horrible and maybe there is a way to make it atleast abit better or something, I know that Snapchat is alot better with iPhone and also this isn't a big issue, like its not end of the world to get this worked nownownow but I do feel like it could be atleast at the same level as Samsung quailty atleast?!
Now I think im done and hopefully I did not overkill and I do hope from bottom of my heart that I could get all the answers of my questions and hopefully it's not hard to read since my English isn't the best one but I did try my best and hopefully I could love my Pixel 2 XL as much as I did on my iPhone! Help me newbie out! (Also I posted this on Pixel 2 post which is wrong so I created a new one here and hopefully I can remove somehow on the Pixel 2 Thread)
