Face unlock - Huawei Mate 20 X Questions & Answers

Hey guys. Will this model be getting any kind of face unlock? I know it would be obviously less secure than the pro.
My mate 9 has face unlock and I'm wondering if it would be similar? Thanks

I dont think it even has the sensor for that

I know, but does the front facing camera work for face unlock? It does on my older mate 9

[solved]having some issue with my honor 8 pro

I've booked honor 8 pro from Flipkart on BBDs. I've got my mobile box without having seal on it.should i accept or i return to Flipkart?...Also I'm facing some issues.kindly please help me out by replying.
So here is my 3 issues.
1.while on wide aperture mode i can't zoom.it is the company given or I'm having problem.
2.when I'm using a pattern lock i can't use my fingerprint to unlock device.either if I'm using the PIN or Password protection then fingerprint unlock is also working.
3.when I've got my device I've put a Vodafone sim on it.then I've received the message from Vodafone saying that I'm eligible for vodafone amazon buy 1gb or above pack and get 9gb for 5 recharges.
Over confused there bcoz I've booked mobile from Flipkart then why msg showing amazon offer?...u can see on ss attached...please please please help me.
If you bought a new 8 Pro then I'd definitely return an opened sealed box/phone.
1. The camera tells it to you. Zoom is not supported in wide aperture mode.
2. Pattern lock with fingerprint is not supported in EMUI.

This is a really bad idea, you can't just replace camera module with a different one.

Face Unlock for Nokia 8.1

Hey guys, I've recently bought a nokia 8.1 and i was looking for the face unlock capability, that was anouced the phone would have in a new update, but the only thing I've found is the google smart lock face unlock, that is fooled by photos so prety inssecure, does anyone know if it will receive any updates that enables a face unlock feature like the nokia x7? that is secure.
Dedicated Face Unlock is not part of any of the Nokia smartphones (except for Chinese variants). And I do not see it changing anytime soon. Maybe not until they launch a phone which has a dedicated sensor to do face detection. Probably Nokia 9 will be the one.

I think X7 doesn't have this dedicated sensor, right?
It is still the kind of face unlock vulnerable to photos.

On the x7 it's just software, and going by the tests on youtube and some friend's phones it isn't vulnerable to photos. i don't know why the global variant is so vulnerable.

This is the google made face unlock that is vulnerable to photos. the chinese version (X7) has a more secure face unlock feature that is separated from that.

It does. But it is not as usable as the CN version. In CN you can set it in various ways such as unlock without turning on the screen or not needing to swipe after face recognized.

The concept used behind face unlock

Hello All,
Can anyone explain the concept or algorithm used for the face unlock in Samsung Galaxy A50?
Is it secured?

Question Anyone here bought the G40?

Greetings,
I'm interested in buying this phone mostly because it seems to have a good camera on paper for my <20k INR budget and the UI is a personal favourite of mine, just below the OxygenOS.
I would love to hear your experience with the camera, if it supports the GCam mod properly, and does the chunky design of the phone really make you reconsider buying it?
I would also love to know if you've tried anything to make the hdr10 work outside the YouTube app.
Thank you
I intend to get one if its easy to root the phone. Is it possible?

Yeah, from what I gathered online, all moto phones have a very similar and simple way to root them.
I remember having to write a letter to Xiaomi on why I wanted to root my phone and wait a week just to have the ability to unlock the bootloader of my Redmi note 4 lol. Moto's method is definitely way easier than that.

would system be read/write though? I've been out of the loop for a while, is there any fix for it yet?
if you're purchasing now, then there's no ROMs, TWRP, or anything.. but u can easily unlock bootloader and use ADB coz its Stock Android.. so if you want custom ROMs.. now you can just wait.. (if any ROM developer sees this.. if u own a Moto G40F.. pls make ROMs for this device.. thanks)
Does this device have NFC? The information all over the internet is contradicting. Please confirm
