Thanks for this. The no search bar makes the stock launcher perfect for me, that alone is worth rooting.

Hi Tulsa, thanks so much for this. Is there any plans to be able to increase bottom margin. I have the nav bar hidden and the screen bar is so close to the edge, would love to have increased padding. Thanks in advance

Yes my friend it's been a long time. I gave up on the 2XL and went back to Samsung until about a week or so ago. The Note 9 camera with action shots is terrible along with the curved screen had me come back to the Pixel line. Glad I did, I have zero regrets.

Same here, mine works just like the stock launcher without the nav bar.

Can the at a glance be removed?

Hi There, using fluid navigation. It works great, no issues with the search bar or anything, its just a cosmetic thing. It looks off being so close to the edge of the screen and was just wondering if there was a way to modify the padding from the bottom of the screen in the stock launcher.
TIA

I here you but most people think more screen is better otherwise why remove the navbar in the first place.

I used the remove weather-text home screen option and it cleared text in the top column but now the space is unusable. My weather widget is only able to go to the 2nd column from the top of the home page.

So far I have been unable to clear that area up for use. I'll continue looking though.

Ok, I have a question. When I unzip this or your other mod installer into my platform tools folder it's asking me if I want to replace my adb file or not can u tell me if I should? I ask because when I did click replace I was unable to flash stock at a later date. I had to totally delete my tools and files and do a fresh setup.

Any option to remove only homescreen text but not for the drawer?

Derp. Missed it. Thanks!
For anyone trying to use this on Windows I had to use PowerShell vs CMDR / *.terminal.

At the risk of getting flamed, how do I grant give "ADB root permissions?" I know how to launch adb commands via powershell on Windows 10, I'm rooted etc etc, but not sure how to do this step.
Sorry for my ignorance on this

[Q] CM7 Status Bar Transparency

Status bar, not notification pull down. I've already gotten the notification working, as it was just a standard png edit.
Anyway, is there anyone that can give an explanation on how I can get my status bar to be transparent? I've already gotten the proper image from system/app/SystemUI.apk. I edited it and saved it properly for transparency. Where I'm getting stuck is the whole draw 9 thing, since the image is a ".9.png" file. I've already opened the png in the draw 9 patch tool in the SDK, but I'm just totally stuck at this point.
I sort of understand the deal with drawing black lines on the right and the bottom for the content areas, then the two dots on the top and left for the stretchable areas. But after I save the file, I'm still seeing the drawn black lines in the image. Am I not doing something right? After I get that sorted, how do I go about resigning the apk to push it to my device?
You'll need to run Eclipse, this tutorial helped me with draw nines. Once you put them thru Eclipse, the lines will disappear. Then you can extract them from the unsigned apk like the video states, use 7zip to put the images back into your framework-res.apk or whatever without having to resign anything.

+1
I'm a rom-whore, and I'm damn proud of it
Edit: Nevermind, I'm editing the right file. I just did a test and made it completely red and it worked. But, for some reason transparency is not working at all, it just keeps appearing solid black.
I believe it's in services.jar if I'm not mistaken. Or so that's what I had heard. I haven't messed with it myself.

Yeah, I've tried about everything I can think of. If you get something put together, I might figure out how to put together a flashable zip of a transparent or semi-transparent status bar and pull down for stock CM7 theme.

Sent you a PM.
The actual image is in SystemUI.apk. But it won't render transparent without an xml our services.jar hack. It's a pain in the ass. Also if you actually make it transparent you are going to have problems with text and image stacking when you pull down down notifications. I just replace the image in SystemUI.apk with a 480x38 top part of my wallpaper.

Indeed that does work. Now, if I could only get that transparency to work with the original CM7 theme. I'm not a fan of all the extra theming stuff that particular patch adds. Thank you though.

Full Screen Mode

I know LMT launcher is available for this but i just saw this video i looks good any tired it or care to try it. I wont have my phone till next week. Link to the video and the app store where you can get the app. Video is in a different language but no need to understand.

EDIT: if you want to use LMT launcher you have to have root and root explorer to remove the soft keys. First Install LMT launcher, you can get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150.
*Here is the link to download the full screen toggle app so you dont have to modify the build prop
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497558
Then with root explorer Add "qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1" (without the quotes) at the end of the build.prop in /system and reboot (credit to anirudh412 for this).
Root Explorer found in app store https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sImNvbS5zcGVlZHNvZnR3YXJlLnJvb3RleHBsb3JlciJd

I would not recommend this app. I tried it. It worked but after reboot my phone I ended up in boot loop. It mess up with the build.prop. So if you don't have recovery it will be pain to restore phone to previous state.
This app worked well for me. Just the placement of the on screen keys would sometimes get I am the way of the software keyboards lower left and lower right most keys. But overall pretty good.

Did you modify did build prop to remove the soft keys before u installed the app? You dont need to modify the build prop for this that maybe the reason you had that boot loop.

well the thing is that with the original post that i put you dont need to do any build prop mods its just installing the apps, but if you want to do the LMT launcher with removing the soft keys its been posted on other threads but ill repost it. Also i dont if a moderator can move this to the app section i posted in wrong place.
Here's what I did:
1. Root the phone with my bootloader still locked.
2. I installed the LMT Launcher app and configured the PIE controls
3. When the PIE controls are all set, I installed the app "Fullscreen Toggle"
4. Fullscreen Toggle gets rid of the softkeys but keeps the status bar on top, which I think is good.
5. I also prefer using Browser vs. Chrome, so Installed Browser apk using the instructions in the other thread for that.
Now, when I browse, I have the full screen, when I exit the browser, I no longer have wasted space by the softkeys taking up space.
I have to say, I love LMT Pie control, its fast and intuitive and its even more convenient to use the phone one handed with it. This made all the difference with this phone.
This is exactly what im doing didnt have a chance to do it yesterday, one question you got stock browser to work cuz it seemed like nobody had it working. Did you follow the instructions from the link I provided.

Transparent Notifications

Hi there.
I'm planning on getting the 2013 Nexus 7 again. I miss the high-resolution screen and the vanilla Android OS.
I sold it because i feel the 7" screen is not enough and compounded by the "annoying" occupancy of the Notifications bar on the top and the bottom thus making the 7" screen look like only 6".
Now, i have heard and seen videos that you can make the Notifications Bar (top & bottom) transparent so you can make full use of the real estate.
Is this true? Any way i can do this?
Please advice. Thanks.

Just use KitKat and a launcher that supports it.
I go farther and I use xposed+GB and don't even use the navigation bar at all, and use the pie controls in GB, and the status bar only appears when I pull down from the top, so 100% of my screen is always in visible at all other times.
Here's a pic:

Are you able to have swipe up for recents tho and scroll for browsing recents? I like new design of nav bar and want to keep it.
otherwise u can use this command in terminal,
adb shell
settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "space,recent;home;back,space"
works perfect !
I use nova launcher so I have my gestures set to swipe up for app drawer. Can set your gestures for whatever you like. I also use the Pie style buttons inside app so it looks the same. It was a paid app I believe and did have to give permission via adb. I seen someone posted the adb commands to swap without a app. Might be easiest way and no money for the app.

Nova Launcher free is great, but Nova Prime is the best money I've spent in the app store (besides Titanium Backup).
If you're going to spend money on anything in Google Play Store, buy Nova Prime. You will not regret it :good:
Yup agree, I have had nova prime launcher for a few years now

Whats the syntax to revert to original? It worked but it removes the lock screen on off toggle introduced with Pie. Thanks in advance

adb shell
settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "space,recent;home;back,contextual"
will look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The stock navbar would be:
settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "space,back;home;recent,contextual"
Another one I like:
adb shell
wm overscan 0,0,0,-10
It reduces the navbar height by 10 pixels, without hiding any elements. There's no small gain
Google gestures are pointless. I'm using an app called fluid navigation to hide the navbar all together and use customisable gestures. Its highly customisable and free app. Works without root perfectly.

Yup, even after a monthly firmware update
So I've had my pixel 3 for a week and I'm liking it. Upgraded from a galaxy s6. I've disabled/uninstalled the pixel launcher and I've swapped the back and recent buttons. However, the brief time I had the new gestures I did really like the new rotation suggestion. Is that baked into Android or the pixel launcher? Do I need to have the new pie gestures to have the rotation suggestion? Or can I do a similar adb code as when I switched the buttons to add the contextual button?
Many thanks!

Hide NavBar -NO ROOT- (Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite)

Hello everyoneWell in my country we don't have the mi 6 pro, so I've been struggling with the navbar, trying to hide it, and mod it. Because I don't like android One...
So I've been trying with various launchers and apps, till I've found this "Total Launcher"https ://play .google .com/store/apps/details ?id=com.ss.launcher2&hl=es_419
For those who are interested the trickiest part was the drawer but with a little of patience I left it to my taste, the good thing is that you can mod almost anything in that app... Also it got a lot of gestures like display facing down to lock it, but I couldn't get it to work with the fingerprint scanner because when it's locked, forces you to use the pin code.
Hope you find it interesting and helpful.
And this is my mi a2 lite now

Yeah, the "pro" version of the app is great If you try it tell me, it's a bit tricky at first glance but you can do lots of things
You can use custom navigation bar which can hide the navbar very well

How about navigation gestures. Works well without root. You'll just send a command via ADB and that's all.

Whats the (G) top left? is it a slide in/out toggle for the Google search bar? That being the case, is that an option within the Nova settings? Nova user myself.
Nice Wallpaper :good:
