[SOLVED] Help! RAW/DNG in Moto G5 8.1 [Stock+Root] - Moto G5 Themes, Apps, and Mods

I just rooted my phone in order to get RAW/DNG photos. I followed this post.
Then, I tried this camera apps:
Open Camera, Lightroom Mobile, Manual Camera DSLR, Footej camera
I got DNG files and I couldn't open them anywhere except in FreeDCam Viewer. I tried Photoshop (desktop version), Lightroom (mobile and desktop version), Snapseed.
Camera FV-5
It tells my phone can't support RAW. I think the app is outdated.
FreeDCam
This is a special case. It lets me take 10bitDNG and 16bitDNG.
10bitDNG
I got DNG files and I can open them even in my gallery app (Simple Gallery). The problem is it shows me a dark frame everywhere except in the FreedCam viewer.
FreedCam viewer
Dark frame
16bitDNG
The same as in Open Camera. Sometimes my phone just freeze after take photos in this mode.
Any solutions to get DNG files without problems?
SOLUTION
Edit EXIF and delet CameraCalibration1 and CameraCalibration2. Found in this old post by troop.
Explanation:
Android
1. Install Exiftool app
2. Go to the three points >> Execute command.
3. Type this to delete two problematic tags and fix the bug with date times tags:
exiftool "-cameracalibration1=1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1" "-cameracalibration2=1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1" "-IFD0ateTimeOriginal<FileName" "-ModifyDate<FileName" "-ext dng" "/storage/emulated/0/DCIM/" "-v2" "-overwrite_original"
→ "/storage/emulated/0/DCIM/" is the path of my files. Change it if you have a different one.
→ "-v2" is to print operation details.
→ "-overwrite_original" is to avoid backup files.
→ ""-IFD0ateTimeOriginal<FileName" is to set DateTimeOriginal in the default Exif group.
4. To fix DNGs from front camera add this to previous command (I repeat, JUST for DNGs from front camera)
"-IFD0:blacklevel=16 16 16 16"
Windows
1. Download exiftool for Windows from here
2. Extract "exiftool(-k).exe", rename it to "exiftool.exe" and copy it to "C:\Windows". Now, you can use the command "exiftool" from any folder.
3. Go to the path of your files and open a command prompt there.
4. Execute the command
exiftool "-cameracalibration1=1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1" "-cameracalibration2=1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1" "-IFD0ateTimeOriginal<FileName" "-ModifyDate<FileName" "-ext dng" "*.dng" "-v2" "-overwrite_original"
→ "-v2" is to print operation details.
→ "-overwrite_original" is to avoid backup files.
5. To fix DNGs from front camera add this to previous command (I repeat, JUST for DNGs from front camera)
"-IFD0:blacklevel=16 16 16 16"

So, I also was interested in root for a primary reason to get raw files from my camera. So, I did it (according to same thread you linked) and installed open camera and it lets me shoot in raw and I got the dng file. But now, like you, I can't open it in Photoshop. Where do you go to edit the exif and delete those camera calibrations? I followed the link you shard, but I don't see where it talks about editing exif at all.
Also, I'm just using Photoshop CS6 - I never upgraded to CC. Will I still be able to open those dng files from my moto g5? If not, is there a converter I can use? Please advise! And thanks for your help already in bringing this up!
EDIT: Does editing the exif data work at all with Open Camera? I've tried FreeDCamera a little now and really don't like it, but Open Camera seems good. Please let me know the right combination of things I need to do to get DNGs to take on my Moto5 that I can open in Photoshop CS6. Thanks!

Hey there
No matter what camera, after taking a picture, open it, wait for it to load, and then return to the camera interface to avoid a freeze. I guess you've figured it out. Right now, I'm using OpenCamera with JPEG + DNG option as default.
To remove CameraCalibration1 and CameraCalibration2 use ExifTool via commands or some interface like Exif Pilot (I recommend you to get Batch Editing Plug-in to do this for several files) and ExiftoolGUI. There are some options in Android like this one but sometimes it doesn't work properly.
After remove this tags, I guess you'll be able to open these files in Photoshop CS6 because I can open them in Lightroom Classic CC 2018, Photoshop CC 2018, Snapseed, Google Photos, etc.
PD: For some unknown reason, this bug is still present in this device. There is not help here, I'm currently doing a research about it. Meanwhile, I'm changing dates with ExifToolGui and ExifPilot.

didnt work for me

Access on WM5 & camera question

Is there any command line parameters for the camera.exe PPC 2003 2003SE & 2005.
Need to do the following if poss
Call up the camera ensure it is set to photo
set resolution
Auto save file in (my Documents)
Auto close camera.exe without preview
Is there a hack to get activesync4 to sync pocket access tables.
I can connect a 2003SE machine and sync okay with ver 4. Maybe there a way to hack the registry to ignore checking the OS version
Cheers

Xda Camera command line parameters (some of them...)
Hi - been messing around calling camera.exe from pocketC / command line
(an ancient and obsolete virtual machine language for windows2003!)
So far I've managed to start the camera and change modes using these
parameters:
exec("open","/Windows/camera.exe","-i");
these are the parameters i've discovered so far:
-i =photo mode
-v =video mode
-p =contact photo mode
-m =mms video mode (also switches screen to landscape !?)
Hope these are of some use!
If amyone finds out the the argument to press the shutter button
PLEASE tell me!!
I think it might be some kind of hexadecimal code - but I am not
very bright with this stuff...
Cheers,
Chris.

Method to modify windows dir files to add custom accent color to third party apps

All - I have seen different brief posts on how to do this but no clear method has been shown and none of the other methods worked for my HTC (there is a method for Samsung using an XAP but not phones in general). I have determined which files to modify in the Windows directory and what terms need changing. This method modifies your ROM files so do not do this if you are not comfortable (and I am not responsible for errors, crashes, bricks, etc - do this at your own risk).
You need WPDM/TouchXperience from Schaps
You need Heathcliffs WP7 Root Tools 0.9
You need to elevate TouchXperience priveleges in Root Tools
You need to know how to use these programs (I am not going to explain and assume the person following this knows)
You need to know which color accent number you are doing (it is numbered from 0-10 in the registry) and you need the HEX code for your color (FFYYYYYY)
MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE STARTING
1) From WPDM have your phone plugged in and connected
2) Go to Explore Files and Folders and navigate to the Windows folder
3) Locate four files that look like
00XX_ThemeResources.xaml
00XX_ThemeResources.xamlbin
01XX_ThemeResources.xaml
01XX_ThemeResources.xamlbin
where XX is your accent color number (00,01,...,10 - one of these)
4) Using WPDM, transfer these from phone to pc (choose some location you can work from)
5) Now go to the location you put these files and you will be editing them (using a text editor, so add .txt to the end to get them to open or edit them however if you have tools that can)
6) For the .xaml files, scroll down a ways and you will come to this line;
<!-- (color) -->
<Color x:Key="PhoneAccentColor">#FFYYYYYY</Color>
here (color) will have the name of the color you are working with and #FFYYYYYY will be the hex code of the original theme color. Change the YYYYYY to your custom color code (keep the #FF, just change the YYYYYY)
NOTE: Up to this point this method is similar to others mentioned in the forum; fine. But this did not work for me.
7) Save this file and close it. Rename back to original if you added the .txt for editing
9) Now, open the .xamlbin file. It will look like a bunch of greek/garbage; don't panic.
10) Scroll down and you will see a bunch of text spread out that is readable. You need to read through this and find the following sting of text buried in it;
P h o n e A c c e n t C o l o r # F F Y Y Y Y Y
you will see the Y Y Y Y Y Y is the original theme color. Change these Y's to your custom color hex code but make sure to keep all the spaces present (just change each one carefully).
11) Save the file and close. Rename to original
12) Do this for both .xaml and .xamlbin files (so you will end up modifying 4 files total)
13) Now go back to WPDM (if you are still connected) or get back into it with your phone connected and get back to the Windows directory
14) This time we are going to transfer files from PC to Phone. Transfer each of these modified files back into your phone (you have to do one at a time).
15) Disconnect from WPDM, then manually change your phone theme to a different one and then back. I also powered off and on my phone.
Wa La - custom accent colors show up in third party apps!
Note: those gaps aren't spaces. They're NULL bytes (it's Unicode text, but interpreted as ASCII). Just a heads-up; if you delete one by accident, use Undo. If you can't Undo far enough, either re-download the file or use a hex-editor to fix it.
When I've got time I'll work on a PC app to do these things. Could be a good thing for our Chefs
Could this fix the issue with custom accent colors not displaying in Kik messenger?

Thanks - yes, I know they were there for a reason but didn't know what and it is important not to delete them!

Yes, I think so. I did not have success with just the .xaml edit but the .xamlbin edit did the trick! My custom accents are showing up in all apps now where it didn't before (and Kik falls into the category of third party apps).
Really helpful stuff. Now my 3rd party apps show the correct custom color (tiles included). Tnanks!
I wrote something like this one before but my poor English make it confused and not interested.

[Q] Pulling a wav from Apk

I found that the new google now voice command has a really awesome sound after it is complete. i think it would make a perfect notification sound. i think i found the sound "sucess.wav" in velvet.apk from the jelly bean rom. i extracted it but i am unable to get it to play anywhere. i tried on my phone and computer but both failed. i dont have much experience with these and it may not be the right file.
anyone have some insight?
It's a raw file. Download Audacity, select File -> Import -> Raw Data....
It will ask you to input the bit, sample rate and channels of the file. It seems to be a 16bit mono 32000hz audio file. So try that.
thanks man! i had to edit the speed until i found something that i liked. here it is if anyone wants it!

Lumia Camera at Windows 10 Mobile - unable to install @ Lumia 1020

After instaling to latest Windows Mobile i was unable to install from the shop - so installed via DEV mode - installed, but only JPG 38 MBPIX option is marked (gray), also on build in version. Any idea how to make it work with options to save DNG?
Try deploying this https://forum.xda-developers.com/wi...cations-available-store-t3187515/post71352643
It has been reported to have the 38MP option available

AFAIK the windows 10 "Camera" app does not support DNG format files. For this you will need the old "Lumia Camera" app.
Steps to get it:
1. After updating to the latest Windows 10 mobile build you need to make a hard reset. This way you will restore the original registries for the 1020. These are needed for revealing the old "Lumia Camera" app.
2. Installing the Lumia Camera (three options):
2a. Go to the store and search for "Lumia Camera" app.
2b. Go to the Library in the Store and search the app from there.
2c. Find the Ms link to it somewhere on the net and try to install it from there.
If you set it to 16:9 format you will get 34Mp and if you set it to 4:3 then you'll get the 38Mp.

So registry key change isn't only way to install older verion of LC app
Maybe it is possible to get it deployed somehow but I'm not sure.
Why are you afraid of restoring the registries? You can always change them in future with the wpinternals.

I also have a 1020 running on the latest build. I can easily install the Lumia camera app from the store. Well, if that doesn't work for you try deploying the xap file of the app into your phone. There's a thread here re: old lumia xap files that you can install via deploying using interop tools and xap deployer.

Problem with Watch Face Maker

And here the source file.

You’ll see that something went wrong when compiling.. but I have no clue, what..
Any help welcome

Did you solve the problem ?
If you did not:
go to folder where you saved app, ---> huawei_watch_face_maker-win32-ia32_v066b\packager, delete Output folder and com.huawei.watchface file.
Also in root folder of app make Theme folder where you will save your work.
You should be good to go. Good luck.
Thank you for trying to help.
I'm getting a similar issue where the creation of the watch doesn't go through. Here is the result error :
" GuiPack1.4: The tool to generate gui.bin from png files
Please download guixx.bin to flash and copy BitmapMapping.cpp to project.

The app still creates a file but when I upload it I get something that looks a bit like an old watch I tried to make (that worked but image sets were bit buggy).
Can someone help to understand ? For the record I tried re-extracting the full app, I tried deleting the files you talked about but nothing helps. I also tried launching the app as an admin.
See ya guys !
share your hfw file and not hwt. put in google drive and i try to solve.
Did you manage to fix this problem? I'm having the same one.
Hello, I have a problem:
when I transfer the watchface to the watch you only see the hands the image of the dial is black, I have procured in various ways and with various images but nothing to do, what am I wrong?
thank you
Hi
Great watchface maker. Previously used a similar one to create faces for Amazfit Bip so, after a wee refresher, I was able to create a nice face. Unfortunately, now that I've finished it, I can't get the damn thing to export to .hwt file, it's stuck on "wrapping up". I've been over it again and again and don't see any problems. Any ideas?
I've made sure not to have any "white spaces" or symbols in my program folder or target folder. I've even put both folders on root of C: drive and tried compatibilty mode and run in admin. I've even tried stripping out every widget except the background but I can't get it to compile the final file. Rage.

update: Tried it out on my old mother's ancient win7 laptop and it worked first time! weird, cos my pc is a beast.
Now, the only problem I've got is a rotating arm (for a battery guage) that refuses to budge from the centre of the face. Is there a limit on rotation widgets? I've got a steps target guage and hour-and-minutes hands on a small analogue clock. Tried removing the widget and building it from scratch - still get the same result.
