I imagine it would work since there are zips for V4A and Pie, we just need TWRP.

Or you can just use the Magisk module for it.

i've been curious about this... when I attempt to load the module from magisk, the viper app states driver needs updated and i follow the prompts but every reboot same dialog stating update driver. after some further reading, i evidently needed to download busybox, also available as a magisk module. ok now busybox and viper... no more "driver update" needed, but i'm not convinced viper is actually working with any setting in the viper app (ultimately im looking for louder headphone volume)
>>> what am i missing? do i need another module? custom kernel?

This is the only version I've found that works. Doesn't work well switching between audio sources though.

Yes

Have you guys installed the Audio Modification Library as well? This helps a lot with getting V4A to work properly.

I tried it but v4a wouldn't work with it installed. I uninstalled it and v4a started working again.

Installed AML after and it removed Viper app, still see it in Magisk. Deleted everything and now when I install driver, Viper app disappears.
Update: installed APK from OP on that thread. Kept magisk module installed. Working

I keep getting the, update driver for V4A. I've done it like 5 times. I had busybox installed first even. I also installed ViperXHiFi, and it keeps asking for V4A driver to be updated... I'm going to test in my car anyway, but something is off for sure. This didn't happen on my 2 xl.

Yep! I installed V4A through the Magisk module, after SELinux and Busybox and a reboot. In settings, went into developer mode then disabled SELinux. I'm guessing yours works? If yes, what were your steps?

Not processing but I can hear effects when toggled

Is this one different than the Viper FX Android Magisk module? The material, 2.5.0.5 or something like that? That's the one that worked on my 2xl, so, I repeated the steps that got it working on my 3xl. I tested in my SUV, and, sure doesn't sound like it's working...

Yes it is different it looks like it's a newer version with the higher number and all....
The FX version would not install the driver. It doesn't work
So I take it you removed all audio mods flashed the module in mm and rebooted. Then you installed the recommended driver when prompted and rebooted? If so, are you sure the driver is installed by checking in the Viper app?

I'm not sure what you are referring to as far as me removing all audio mods? I simply flashed the one version of V4A FX after busybox, rebooted, and I get a prompt every time I open it to install the driver. Every time I do it, it says successful and reboot. When I click no and check the driver status, it shows it's not correct. So, doesn't look like the driver installs at all.
I guess I'll remove it and install the one you posted. If that works, color me happy. Have you tried it with Viper XHiFi? I used that on my 2xl when dolby wouldn't work on Pie. Didn't sound AS good, but still a big improvement, even over just regular viper.

Anyone able to run Viper4Android?

I just got my OP3 and really like it. I'd love it with V4A... but it's not working. The driver doesn't load.
When I try to load SELinuxModeChanger, it errors out saying that it's unable to gain root access (even though SuperSU grants root). Weird.
So is V4A working for anyone?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
Yep. I have busy box installed.

Try using A.R.I.S.E on XDA, it is a full package with a lot more than V4A. Furthermore, try to set your linux to permissive.
dont use superuser 2.74
use 2.67
^ I think that I'm trying to use v2.74. I'll find v2.67. Thanks!
-KLH
Confirmed fix. I'm now running v2.67 (Beta) and I'm now able to run V4A. Thanks again, kramer987.
-KLH
Setting it to permissive worked for me, that may help others as I do have v2.74 installed.

I thought that I had V4A working, but it isn't - even though it says that it is. How do I know? Regardless of what you do with the FIREqualizer, the sound remains the same - clearly unchanged. Has anyone run into this?
To recap, this is what I'm running:
* OOS v3.2.0
* SuperSU v2.67 Beta
* Busybox v1.24.2-meefik
* SELinux (set to "permissive")
* V4A v 2.4.0.1
* Google Play Music v6.10.3019C.3013175 (phew)
Here's what I see when I run the driver status check:
Here are other screenshots of V4A that shows the rest of the settings and me changing the FIREqualizer. Throughout, the sound doesn't change.
Now I have heard that OOS v3.1.2+ uses an internal sound driver called DiracHD so 3rd party sound drivers cannot be used. Since XDA members are more knowledgeable, I request either confirmation or a suggested solution.
I am running Divine beats by @TheRoyalSeeker.
Viper and Dolby Included.

That's strange try a another twrp recovery specially Garak's one. And try to dirty flash your ROM again or check permissions in file manager or maybe try mounting system in twrp and flash.
Was your phone bootloooping and has systemless root.
Try these and tell me your progress.

That isn't necessarily needed as I am running v4a and Dolby as well.
Same problem here. Cannot install viper drivers, 2.76 supersu, busybox on rails, cannot figure out how to set selinux to permissive.

This is most likely because you HAVE to mount system in TWRP before you install divinebeats or viper via zip file. It will say it's successful, but nothing gets written to the system partition unless you mount r/w prior first. I cannot say this for xposed, but I do know that the only 'systemless' version worked for me was 85.1 by RomRacer.

You just have to mount system in TWRP, than you can flash divinebeats or xtrememusic mod or anything else. Im running v4a on this setup:
OP3 Lite rom 3.2.0
SuperSU - 2.76 (systemless)
Xposed - 85.1 (systemless)
XtremeMusic - 7.5.2
Viper4Android - 2.4.0.1

A little help, will using this module not damage my hardware?
Also, ELI5, how is it better than the default setup on my OP3, I searched ARISE and read what was there, but it turned out o be too technical for me.
Any help is appreciated.

This will not damage your hardware, unless you change the EQ to boost too much the sound of course, like for every mod. Furthermore, ARISE installs some audio libraries issued from Sony, HTC, etc... with Dobly app and Viper4Android. Everything is linked in order to have a good sound audio. Furthermore, some profiles are included in order to load them directly in V4A.
I suggest you download the Exodus 1 with Aroma installation since it's simplified.

Mod is for CM, AOSP roms with OS 6.0-7.1.2 . It compiled me from various sources, primarily ViPERAudio 5.5 Sony Beats Edition. As well as applications, libraries and configuration Sony. Mod has a fully working application Sony "Music" downloading data on a track and album. Also, equalizer, Xloud etc... I strongly recommend that after the first run and settings to make updates to the app on Google Play. You can also download others Sony apps

Viper4Android Oreo

Is there any way to install Viper4Android on Android Oreo? Rooted ofc.
Gesendet von meinem Pixel XL mit Tapatalk
I installed by
1. Boot the Android O TWRP mod while in bootloader
2. Flash the SU config Aroma zip
2.5. Left all settings at Let Device Decide except changed to Permissive
3. Flash Super SU SR3
4. Flash Root Hide
5. Reboot to System
6. Boot the Android O TWRP mod from bootloader
7. Flash the 08-11 Arise zip
After that it was processing on opr6 and safetynet is passing.
Forgot to mention that first I deleted almost 400 mb of apps from /system/app. All the keyboards for other languages and some Google apps that can be downloaded from the Play Store.
Thanks.

I'm really bummed that nothing has been done for audio quality on Oreo besides providing bluetooth codecs that require hardware to net licensing fees. Viper has been out for years now blowing stock audio out of the water. How long do we have to wait to even have half of the quality increase added from Viper.

I didn't have that problem. I did it from a clean install but I have no idea if that would help with that problem.

Had that, when I was trying to install Viper some time ago, I had to completly clean install EVERYTHING, then it worked.

What you all could try, is reinstall superSU stuff, and select Permissive, and dont let Aroma decide.

I got it working.. by playing around aimlessly. I was able to break it while working and get it working again without rebooting.. I don't really know how long it's gonna work for. With arise magnum opus 8-11.
In my case, I use core+v4a 2.5+atmos. It would initially show processing and supported until I played something and then it would break.
Well a few minutes ago I was playing around with YouTube, and I noticed it was louder than normal. My speaker Xtra loud setting was turned on. I could turn it on and off and hear a difference in audio like it was working. Then I put my headphones on and bam it was working. Then I tried to open Dolby and it force closed and my music went all choppy. I looked back at v4a driver status showing not processing and abnormal status. I manually force stopped v4a, and both Dolby apps. Opened Dolby without playing any music and I was able to set my desired settings. Played music again and did the little speaker trick above (unsure if it matters or a fluke) and it was working. Put headphones back on and it's still working normally. Hopefully it'll last! It's been working as of right now about 20 minutes. My selinux is also set to permissive and supersu is working just fine. I've been working on this since last night, it's been frustrated. Lets hope it continues to work.

Great, but try restarting your phone.
See if you either get it working instantly, or maybe you have to do your workarounf thing again.

Rebooted and it's working immediately without any extra encouragement. Guess it finally clicked. I'm honestly not sure what I did. But I'm not gonna argue with it lol
If anyone else is struggling and frustrated give my other post a read and start playing and tinkering to see if you guys can get it too. It was really random things I did there was no process I followed or anything. On my old 6p that's on Oreo too i flashed arise and it worked immediately no tinkering necessary but I've been working on getting it going on my XL from 8pm-1am last night and about 10am-3pm today lol. Good luck everyone else who is having trouble
Got it, download this app: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524485
Then select permissive in here, and let it do its job.
After that, taskkill Viper, and play Music, open Viper and there you go.
SuperSu is not affected by this.

I guess, its (somehow, and who knows why) random, which SELinux Mode it selects. I guess that is whats breaking it.

Did you get yours working doing it that? I don't bother with that app btw, you can use permissive zip so it'll set permissive on boot without messing with an app.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952602503.
Permissive isn't supposed to matter but in my case I found with atmos it worked better with permissive rather than enforcing so it's why I use it but give it a shot if you want.

Yes, worked for me.
But the App has a script, which Autostarts. Plus the app instantly changes it, without having to restart.

4. Without running Viper:
- From the archive AML.rar
replace post-fs-data.sh along the path /data/adb/modules/AML

Finally working in OOS12 thanks!
P.S for some reason the folder directories to copy the files were:
data/adb/modules/aml
and
data/adb/modules/ViPER4AndroidFX
Figured it out when getting directory does not exit when trying the paths given in first post
TY for this. I had it working 100% on Android 11, but figured I was lost on 12. Only issue I've had is it constantly thinks I'm connected to my car radio's BT after I disconnect, so profiles aren't perfect, but I missed V4Android. Sound quality is night vs day.
Hi there,
after several other methods this one helped me to solve the driver problem. Thanks for that!
Still I have the problem that NEON is not activated. Is there any solution to be found anywhere?
I am using the Oneplus Nord 2T with Oxygen OS Android 12.
EDIT: found solution.
This worked fine for me on OOS13, it works in all apps when the legacy mode is on. However after doing this whole procedure, Dolby Atmos no longer works (at least on the integrated speakers, which is what I only tested)
Didn't work. After replacing files Viper driver is installed loop (OnePlus 10 Pro, OOS 13, C20 (EU))

Did anyone else have this issue and any clue on how to solve it?
Hey guy i installed viper works but when i try to use the Convolver and than i click on impulse response. I get this message on the bottom. Anyway to fix this.
The presets install into a different folder. You have to manually move them over to where Viper is telling you it can't find them. Oddly enough, I had to use Terminal to move them. Even Root Explorer with SU permissions got a r/w denial.

i Wnet into the folder and i have everytinh there took a screen shot of it.
Am i doing something wrong
I believe its a weird permissions error. There's a guide to getting these to work in the main Viper4Android thread here on XDA.

Would you be able to link to that fix please.
Also i removed viper and verytime it asks me to install drivers and i do and when i reboot start viper it asks me to do it again. Sorry a little frustrated
Viper4Android That's the thread. Its towards the end. As far as troubleshooting, I can only recommend removing all of the modules and starting from scratch. The steps at the top of this thread worked perfectly for me.

So far nothing i have done has fixed the impulse problem says its not there but the files are in there.
I don't have the link, but Google for Viper4Android 2.7 profiles. A guy has a GitHub page where he's updated them all to work with Viper 2.7. I remember having to download those as the old profiles didn't seem to be recognized.

So afterman trys i was able to get the convolver and impulse response to work. One last question on my old one plus 7 pro i have viper installed with a rom on it and i have this layout wanted to know where i could find this version. Also Its the same version i am using but the layout is different.
I can't spot a difference in the two images. It won't enable though until you toggle the Master Power button to on.

Question V4A on OOS13

Hello,
has anyone managed to get V4A working on OOS13? If so, how?
Thanks for the answers, I won't be updating until someone confirms V4A works.

Hi I know its an old thread but, which phone did you use. I tried on OP8 Pro and it didn't work.
Edit: nvm. I didn't realize which phone forum I was on.
JamesDSP has a working version for OOS13. Unfortunately V4A is not yet good.
But JamesDSP is probably even better, because it supports lossless format.
Got an OP 9RT on same hardware and make V4A works.

Maybe you should install BusyBox from Magisk repository first.
Install AML & V4A modules
Install V4A app (do not run it!!!)
Reboot
Run the app
Use "Legasy mode" in settings
Start any music
Go to Viper and turn it on/off/on
It may couse bootloop. Use it on your own risk!
Dolby works fine too.

Did kill my Dolby however but I'm really just happy to have V4A again. A couple times it did stop working but clearing the app's data and opening it again works fine, no reboot needed.

Viper4android is popularly considered to be the all time greatest android audio mod. Imagine an equalizer on steroids that requires ROOT and custom driver. Honestly other than a couple kernel tweaks here n there V4A is my only reason to root nowadays...
