Single and dual sim -> how to switch tu dual ? - Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact Questions & Answers

Hello,
I recently purchased a ZX2 compact. I was expecting a dual sim version, but in fact it is a single sim
Except the dual sim, all other features are exactly the same. Is there any chance in changing the sim trolley by a dual version that i will have acces to the dual sim ? Firmware are different ?
thanks to all for your advices

Not possible. The hardware reader and radio is different. Same philosophy as why using an film ribbon adapter to layer dual sim and microsd to use all 3 inside dual sim active simultaneously does not work because there is a hardware switch that restart the phone and only enable one reader at a time.

Hi, there's 3 Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact variants:
H8314 - SINGLE SIM CARD
H8324 - DUAL SIM CARD - Hybrid style( micro sd card or the second sim card)
SO-05K - JAPAN VERSION - I don't know if its dual.
I hope you can figure it out which model do you have it.

[q] xperia m sim issue

Hi
I recently purchased a Xperia M Dual Sim model. Unfortunately I did not know that it was a micro SIM. Now I already have a Nokia Lumia 520 with Micro SIM. The one in Lumia was cut locally by mobile salesaman. The dimensions of the micro SIM was not exactly as per specifications with it looking more like a Nano SIM with all the plastic edges trimmed out. Now this one works fine in LUMIA but as I insert them in Xperia M , it gives error NO SIM.I have carefully seen that the 6 connector points in SIM matches with the 6 quadrants in the SIM but no avail and tried multiple times in both the SIM slots of this dual SIM model. When I look carefully I see that the SIM slots in xperia may have a switch mechanism in the bottom of their SIM slot which detects SIMs which are not cut properly or are not of the perfect dimensions. Is it true for any of the guys over here. Pls help cos otherwise Id have to thing that there is a defect in the SIM Slot.I have checked in both the slots and they are the same.
Thanks
Saboo
Well, first try with a micro sim. They are not expensive and you don't need to change your number or something.
You can't be sure if you only try with hand-cutten not matching sims.
Try with a new one first and then you can see if you really have a problem.

need help which one is better single or dual?

Hey guys!
I am looking to buy the Note 7 as you know it comes with two versions the single N930F and Dual SIM version the N930FD, currently I am with AT&T and I using the Note 5 SM-N920I with NO problem. My question is, If I need a custom development support and using the phone in the (US and Asia) which variant should I get the single or the dual?
Are both models working smoothly with a custom ROM without any trouble specially the dual sim N930FD?
thanks,
Any suggestion?
The Dual Sim version of the phone allows you to insert two sim cards. If you move between Asia and the US a lot, then it could be a great option for you. But, you can't use the SD card and both sim cards at the same time.

dual sim compatibility

Hello all. I have recently purchased a Moto Z Play US version. I noticed in the sim slot there are pins for the 2nd sim. But the tray itself has a cover over the 2nd sim tray. I was wondering if I buy the dual sim tray do you guys think that it will work?
Thanks
It will not work, it needs software support.
Maybe if he flashes a european firmware too? Dunno...

you can use dual sim if you dont use SD cards. there is a way to use dual simcard plus SDcard. youll have to search for it in youtube.

there has been several mentions of the Samsung phones since the S8 housing the dual sim hardware on a very high percentage of phones, but nobody has cracked several open to prove/disprove this. Try it, see what happens, report back
