The main reason I bought the USA unlocked G710ULM is to wait for the official bootloader unlock from LG. Unlike the US997 LG G6 is enjoying root, I'm surprised and upset that the USA unlocked LG V30 (US998) and now the LG G7 (G710ULM) has no word from LG. They just want us to purchase the European unlocked, which is more expensive , they are out of my price range in buying my favorite LG flagship. The US variant is reasonably well priced where as the European variants aren't. 11th July was the launch of the G710ULM and 4 months nothing from LG.

Gonna be honest I don't think we're getting anything from LG. I think we're on our own for this one

buying LG G3

Which one LG G3 is best to buy and which one is best for rooting and other purposes?
Also which one got marshmallow updates?
Thanks in advance
Maybe he found a G3 that was cheaper than $25
I used to have an LG G3 and while it was a good phone when I had it, the Droid Turbo is a far superior phone. If I was somehow interested in getting another G3 i'd import the Korea Only snapdragon 805 version.

Well, of the options you show the T-mobile LG G3 bootloader is already unlocked from the factory.

I want that whose I can unlock easily. I have third that carrier phone of this model don't work good. Is it true?

Just ordered USA unlocked (G710ULM). More questions to follow.

Just ordered USA unlocked (G710ULM) Platinum Grey. Why no news of bootloader unlock since 2 months of launch? What's the duration of LG's previous flagships which got bootloader unlock?
The purchase is from B&H, freebies like AVODA Case & Tempered Screen.
is there statistics where how many have purchased total LG G7s worldwide as per variants (G710ULM vs G710EU sales).
We know LG G7 sold more than LG G6 during launch, surprisingly the USA unlocked (US997) got bootloader unlocked around a month after launch.
Is LG busy with LG V40 launch? Also must be busy rolling out Android 9..0 Pie by Q4 of 2018.

LM-G710AWM vs LM-G710ULM

I'm located in the US and recently purchased a new unlocked LG G7 thinQ from Walmart at a great price - $395. Have had it about a month and it's great. However, just realized I was sent a Canadian Version (AWM) instead of the US version (ULM). Some sites show the AWM version as a North American Variant. Am I okay? Should I be concerned? Should I try to do a return to Walmart?

UK Release?

Does anyone know for sure if the G8 is coming to the UK? If so, will it be available on carriers or will we have to buy it outright? I've heard very little about the release of this phone.

Huh?
I've heard of a mid-April SIM free release date - probably from Carphone Warehouse as they also did the V30 & G7 SIM free.
Probably no VoLTE or VoWiFi support in the UK due to carriers not officially supporting the phone - LG seem to prefer to turn the options off / remove them from firmware completely rather than leaving them as some other manufacturers do.

LG really make some confusing decisions. Why would they disable features that make the phone infinitely better. Urgh!

They've done it on the last few handsets - you end up having to root the phone and then hack the firmware to turn (core) features back on.
Based on this alone, I think this is going to be the first year in the last 10 that I won't be buying an LG phone!

That's really sad, for both LG and you. I really want this phone so I can play with the sound display and air gestures, but not at the expense of standard tech which even dumb phones are starting to ship with.
What are you likely to switch to?

It's nonsensical and incredibly disappointing.
What an absolute crock. All we got is a watered down version that I won't be buying. Looks like you've lost a loyal customer LG.
It's official, the LG G8 isn't getting a UK release.
That said, Wonda Mobile is importing and selling the Korean version.
Is it safe to buy a Korean version and then using it in UK?

It is indeed.
The LG G8s LMG810EMW is the same as the Korean version and if available in a few weeks might be better to get this option. With the Korean version it will work but there will be some quirks with it.
There is no information about G8's at all ....
The reason i wanted to get g8 from Korea because it has a triple camera
Of course I'd rather buy the EU version.
I dont know why LG does not make the same models everywhere.
Just get the G8 from Wonda
I would consider selling my Canadian variant. I'm a Brit living here in Canada at the moment. Let me know if anyone is interested. Dual camera unfortunately. I only got it 4 days ago but thinking about going back to my s7 for the time being. Too much phone for me.

LG V35 9.0 Release Info

In case most of you depend on this thread for v35 news, and also to compound related material in its forum, I shall post this article here.
According to a source, v35 is set to recieve 9.0 Pie within 3 months. (quarter 2)
Link: https://www.xda-developers.com/lg-v30-v35-v40-android-pie-q2-2019-kernel-sources/
Good to know. Thanks.
And it was set to receive in q1 2019. And q4 2018. I'll be happy when I can just put what ever ROM I want on this thing. Otherwise it's back to Nexus/Pixels for me.

LMV350AWM AT&t PIE Beta: LMV350AWM-V18g-310-410-MAR-22-2019-ARB00 was tested on March 22, 2019.
LG might finish the V19a by the end of April, and it should be ready for OTA in May.
Anyway, AT&T will add its bloatware on the final Android PIE firmware for LG V35.

You can repeat this news till you're blue in the face. Until we get it on our phones, it's another case of LG or LG promoters "crying wolf". I read Q4 2018. I read Q1 2019. I read Q2 2019. I've seen the way LG is supporting this device. It's a forgotten "x.5" V series. Not a v30, not a v40. A phone made for ATT and GFi only.

Exactly. The fi version is the unlocked, isn't it? The fact that Google sold me a phone that can't be bootloader unlocked angers the hell out of me!

Yes, what's the point of having a treble enabled phone if lg prevents unlocking the bootloader in the first place. Lol

I mean there's at least 3 models. I bought mine fully carrier unlocked from Best buy. 4 if you count the Amazon one.
AT&T, Amazon, Fi, unlocked.
Yeah it's BS LG suddenly and quietly stopped allowing bootloader unlock. I wouldn't have considered this phone if I knew.

And Latin America countries.
Brazil has 128GB V35+ and other countries have V35.
There's a V35+?!? LG just floods the market with flagship spec'd devices and provides no upgrades. I'm never buying an LG again.

Yeah, you'll find articles where originally AT&T was supposed to sell both V35 and V35+... But for some reason chose to only sell V35. Brazil has it, but I can't find anyone on eBay selling it. Some other Latin American countries have V35.

Hello, do you know how to extract files from an OTA Update file (Dot up)
I have this LMV350AWM-V12e-310-to-LMV350AWM-V18g-310.up
V12e is the last update based on Oreo for AT&T LG V35
v18g is the Pie Beta

You can flash .up files in LG UP, but if you post it someplace, I can extract it and turn it into a TWRP flashable zip for the folks that have TWRP.
Edit: I will need a dump of the 12e firmware as well since it is a diff.
Edit2: Actually we really need that since it is a beta, it may have an engineering laf, and that may be the key to rooting these without using a firehose.
