SOS Feature Help - Samsung Galaxy Watch

I went from a Galaxy S2 to a new Galaxy Watch a month or so ago. One of the features that was most important to me was SOS. I use it to discreetly request a phone call to get away from a long conversation. I double press the button and a couple of minutes later I get a call to get me away and back to work.
With the new GW, the call goes directly to my watch and auto answers - so my phone never rings thereby defeating the purpose that I use it for.
Is this still possible or do I need to go back to my S2?
Thanks!

Anyone know the answer to this?

[Q] Screen stays on for too long after receiving text

Hi. I've been in a dilemma all afternoon and it's been literally 8 hours that i've been looking for a solution to this but I can't find one. So i've decided to post here.
I have a Sprint TP2, on the latest EnergyROM.
Here's my problem:
Everytime I receive a text when the phone is on standby, the screen will turn on, and it will stay on for the next 1 minute. So my phone would be on and wasting battery for the next 1 minute. I'm concerned because I receive a lot of texts a day, I've overclocked my phone and it uses a lot of battery when it is on, and i barely have enough battery to get me through the day. The setting for the phone to turn off is at it's lowest (1 minute), and if i had my way, I'd like it to be set at 5 minutes because i dont like the screen to turn off while i'm doing something.
Is there a way for the screen to turn on when I receive a message, then turn back off after around 3 seconds (like the iPhone)?
or maybe a sure-fire way to keep my phone from waking up when i receive a text?
I actually searched for the setting/registry tweak that completely disables "wake up on SMS" but weirdly, it doesn't work for me and for many other people.
I've tried using the proximity-off feature, but it's not as effective as i want it to be.
If you have any suggestions for me, please let me know. Thank you!

If you like the iPhone look, then you could use a lockscreen to get the results you're looking for. S2U2 is a lockscreen resembling the iPhone one. It also has tons of features to play with including one to set the screen timeout in seconds. I used to have it set to 10 seconds, but you could do three if you wish.
S2U2 did the trick! thanks!
Keep screen off after receiving text
Finally found a thread that is similar to what I'm looking for. I have a Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 CDMA with Energy Rom installed and I wanted to know if there was any way to keep the screen from turning on when I receive a text.
I would still like it to turn on when I receive a call, just not a text because when I receive a text, I normally let it sit in my pocket for a while before I respond (I do a lot of driving)... which means that right now, it is just sitting in my pocket with the monitor on, wasting battery life.
I've tried everything from going through the general settings to Total Commander. Have not figured it out yet and would GREATLY appreciate it if anyone could help me out with this.
Thanks in advance!

I wasn't able to get the screen not to turn on at all. Just download S2U2. The screen will turn on when you get a text, but depending on your setting, it will turn off after a few seconds when youre on the lockscreen. S2U2 works wonderfully. Try it.
Screen off help
Check out this THREAD for a possible fix. It works for me!
Yeah, I tried S2U2... was just hoping there would be a way to completely disable the screen from turning on at all when receiving a text.
Thanks for the help!

Google Search mic won't stop recording!!

I usually hang out on the Galaxy Note forum but I went ahead and got the GS3 for my wife.
Problem...While Google now works beautifully on my Note (no matter which rom I hack on it), I can't seem to get it to work properly on her bone stock bell mobility GS3!
Whenever she engages the search function, the glowing red mic comes up and she speaks...the voice recognition is instantaneous and her words are correctly translated to text. Unfortunately, unlike on my Note, the red mic never stops glowing or recording. It just keeps pulsating...taunting me...refusing to end and thus complete my search.
I have googled and searched and have been unable to find anyone else with this issue. I have factory reset the phone and angered my wife by losing everything without fixing the issue.. I truly am ready to fix this problem with a hammer and perhaps buy her a....gasp..cough...weeze...iphone!!!
Please spare our family this indignity...I don't think my son would approve!

First, obvious question: Is Google Search up to date?
Also, when you hit the red circle (mic), it doesn't stop the recording?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 (Sprint) Home Button -> Google Now (while PIN Locked)

Ok, so here's one particular issue that I just haven't been able to solve. I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 (for Sprint) and I hate S-Voice. I want to be able to use Google Now, and with the Home2 app I can do so with the double-tap on the home button. However, I also keep my phone PIN locked (this way if someone steals it, they can't get to my data and I have time to remotely wipe the phone or locate it), and apparently while S-Voice can work whent the phone is PIN locked, I'm not sure if there is any way to get Google Now to work while it's PIN locked by double-tapping the home button.
Basically, the reason I want this is that I just got a Honda CR-V and the bluetooth implementation in the car is absolutely awful. The only way to make calls while driving is 20 pre-programmed speed dials, or else I have to fumble with my phone which is completely unsafe. Shame on Honda for such an absurdly limiting Bluetooth system that basically makes it much more likely one will fumble with their phone while driving. Anyway, I'd love to be able to just double tap the home button on my phone and get Google Now going (while PIN locked) and then just tell it to call someone or do something else.
Anyone know how I can accomplish this?? By the way, my Galaxy S3 isn't rooted, and I'd prefer not to root it since that would mean I'd have to reinstall everything and re-configure everything.
Thanks!!
Rooting your phone doesn't wipe your data or cause you to have to re-install apps or reconfigure. Have you taken the 4.3 OTA?

My mistake - I think I must have been thinking about custom ROMs. And my phone hasn't been offered the 4.3 OTA yet - I keep reading that there were roll-out issues with it so the timeframe was pushed back, although the last thing I heard was that they started rolling it out again. Will the 4.3 OTA help me with this issue at all?
So I updated to 4.3 via Kies - haven't had a chance to see if I can "fix" my issue in 4.3 yet, but will hopefully get a chance to today or tomorrow and will post back here. Also, someone mentioned trying an app called widgetlocker to control the lock screen, and I'm wondering if I can use this to help get what I want accomplished...we shall see!

Problem Dismissing Notifications and Answering Calls

Hi all,
I am coming from Samsung Galaxy to Pixel 2. Answering calls and dismissing notifications seems very easy on Samsung phones but with my Pixel 2 XL I am having trouble doing these.
It usually takes at least three tries to unlock the phone by swiping up, answering calls or dismissing notifications.
I just wonder if this is normal? Or something is wrong with the phone? Maybe it is normal and I am used to Galaxy phones...
The phone works perfectly at all other situations. Android version is 8.1

Yes, it usually is little hard to answer and reject calls...leaving after swiping up seems to work for me, may I got used to it
I'll chime in and say I've had issues answering calls, it's not all the time but once in a while I have to try 4-5 times to answer before it will actually work.
I average 3-5 swipes to answer a call
I have it too.
It's seems that it's some kind of a touch issues.
Anybody found a solution?
I found that if I want to reject the call I swipe from the center of the screen down and it works 9/10 times. Never any issues answering I always swipe from the very bottom of the screen to just more than halfway up.
I had the same issue with unlocking the screen by swiping up but not with opening the app drawer. Later I found that a VERY quick swipe can successfully unlock the screen most of the time, while a slower swipe is enough for other things. Give it a try
