Honor 10 stock phone app - Honor 10 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi guys i was just debloating my Honor 10
I uninstalled the Huawei calendar and contact app and after rebooting the dialer app in the bottom left corner has changed to the green android icon and when clicking on it the dialog says app not installed.
Is the Huawei dialer app integrated in their contact app?
The google contacts app is still on my phone and working.
If i call a contact from the google contacts app the call is still working.
I can also still receive calls and the screen showing up looks like the Huawei dialer app when calling.
I tried to install the google stock android dialer app, but this installation failed.
Unfortunately i don't have a backup of Huawei's contacts app.
Can someone provide the Huawei contact apk to me? I didn't found it on google.
I would like to see if reinstalling this app will fix my issue.
Thanks!

Most oem phone apps are connected to their contacts app. I cant upload an apk for you. But if you want to fix this issue just do a factory reset. All apps should be back again and this time dont remove contacts.

To install Google stock phone app you just have to manually move the app to system unlike clicking on install button.
Also I will try to upload stock phone Contact and app. Lemme see.

Move it /system /app

i moved the apk to /system/app but after rebooting it disappeared.
Is this really the right path? I assume it has to be something like /system/app/contactAppFolder

I could place the apk there and after a reboot the app icons of huwei phone and contact returned.
When i click them the app shows up for under a second an then close immediately.
The phone and contact apps are not showing up in that app drawer where i can see the latest apps.
Permissions have been set according the other folders and apps in system/piv-app/
I also tried full permissions but it still doesn't work.
I noticed that in the other folder there a sub folder oat/arm64 an in this folder there are odex and vdex files.
I think i also have to create those.
Do you know how to?

As for oat folder, it is basically cache so no need to worry.
If you want to, just make a oat folder with similar structure in the contact folder but I don't think it matter.
Sorry I forgot to sent lib folder earlier

You can try to flash full ota firmware through twrp without cleaning anything so that you don't have to lost data.
Or why bother using stock dialer/contact. Use Google one

[HOWTO] Kill/Change the TERRIBLE T-Mobile Startup/Shutdown sounds

This post assumes you have root
Instructions:
To change your bootup sound remove/replace :
Code:
/system/etc/PowerOn.wav
To change your shutdown sound remove/replace :
Code:
/system/media/audio/ui/PowerOff.wav
Hope that helps!
On a side note, the shutdown animation is stored in :
Code:
/system/media/video/shutdown/shutdown.qmg
and the startup animations are in :
Code:
/system/media/bootsamsung.qmg
/system/media/bootsamsungloop.qmg
but I have not tried removing them (pretty sure it's safe if I remember correctly from the vibrant)
Can someone post the stock sounds and animations

Found it if anyone else wants it! The megaupload link still works. I didnt flash it but if you unpack the zip the audio files are in there. You will have to convert the shutdown to wav, it is currently in .ogg format. Move them to the folders listed above and make sure they are named to the file name you are replacing.

So to change the boot animation do i rename the bootanimation.zip to bootsamsung.qmg?

No, this is not possible yet. Once a kernel is made that will allow bootanimation.zip you will then be able to change the boot animation but not now with stock.

I've renamed the files to bypass them during shutdown/startup but there is still a delay. Is the startup delay part of the system loading or is it programmed to allow for the t-mobile startup animation? Basically, I'm wanting to know if there is a (simple) way to remove the blank screen delay when booting.

Just rename the files in root explorer. Put a " 1 " at the end of the files eg - bootsound.apk1 - it'll make the file not work and you can always delete the 1 and get the sound back.

The devs do all of this for free, remember that. Buy them a drink! ♥
it's actually the vold binary found in /system/bin/vold from cm7 ;-) you'll have to change permissions on it once you push it back to /system/bin/ (i just did a 777), then reboot
that's just to have the sdcard properly mount at both /sdcard and /mnt/sdcard. if you wanna do the mass storage you'll have to download the app and do the commands i'm not really a fan of it because unlike other devices, every single filesystem present on our device will mount with the app, so system and data and the sdcard will mount and create like 8 windows on your computer
So the zip file above does the sd card mount with that update or not or is a new update file imminent.
Any hints as to what is or isn't working? At least a vague Idea? Wifi?
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D using xda premium
The zip above was only meant for other devs to see if they could get the sdcard working but now it's working.

Wifi works. Video playback (Netflix) and some audio (in Angry Birds) doesn't work. Runs pretty good though.
I'm so excited. Thanks for all your hard work guys.
I've had some random spouts of sound working. sometimes the keyboard will randomly start making those key noises, and it's started working playing angry birds before, but not for long.

Basically its got vold added to bin, the set_perm line in the updater-zip for it, trebuchet in /system/app and the ICS Usb mounter apk in /system/app.

I flashed this over the last one with no problem. However the USB Mass Storage Tools don't work. I keep getting an error: "You cannot enable UMS without a USB connection."
When it boots you need to do the following:
Check set as default then select:
Trebuchet
com.cyanogeonmod.trebuchet
If the USB mounter comes up just press the back button at the bottom.
ENjoy
How exactly do you set permissions to 777? God I sound like a noob. Lol
I also get the error as well, going to see what it is now. (usb mounter ums)

[HELP] Cannot install APKs to /system/app via push

I am using AOKP M3 with Black Exodus theme installed, but I doubt that matters.
This is so frustrating. Regardless of the system apk I am trying to install, it NEVER shows up in the app drawer. Here are the steps I use.
adb remount
adb push [Systemapk] /system/app/
make sure permissions are set to rw-r--r--
reboot (shouldn't have to, but doesn't do anything)
I've installing multiple different system apps but it never works. NITROZ kindly made a zip for me, but it's app specific and I shouldn't have to use it.
Any help is greatly appreciated

CM9 music does not need to go in the /system/app folder as it is not necessary. If all you want to do is use the app, just leave it where it is and click to install it.

make sure you tap the Mount R/W button in Root Explorer when you are in the system/app folder. It should be somewhere at the top of the screen. Then you should (in theory) be able to copy anything to the system folders.

[Q] Where is my nandroid stored? [Solved]

Hi, rather basic question here. But I have CWM 6.0.4.3 recovery and I make an occasional nandroid backups with it. But I couldn't seem to locate where these backups are stored and how to clean them out.
Everything usually goes to the "SD" card at /storage/emulated/0. But I looked under "clockworkmod", "Android", etc. Could not find where these backups are hidden. CWM does not have the option to delete these backups so eventually I just end up with alot and I worry about running out of space whereever its being stored.
Edit: Solved. Its in data/media/clockworkmod/backup, but need a root file manager to see browse to that directory.
Try this to locate it
Data/media/clockworkmod/backup
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
---------- Post added at 04:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:36 PM ----------
You can also delete them from recovery
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I have nothing under the /storage/emulated/0/data folder.
Couldn't find it even with the DiskUsage app.
In CWM recover, its supposed to be under /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup, but I cannot find that directory at all.
It doesnt save them to the SD Card. As mentioned above, starting from the root directory, look in data/media/clockworkmod/backup.
"/data" is empty for me.
But I know that I have at least 3-4 nandroid backups in there and I've even restored too. So I know that they do exist.

But I know that I have at least 3-4 nandroid backups in there and I've even restored too. So I know that they do exist.

What version of Android are you running?

And you should have stuff in the data folder wether you have backups or not. There should be system files in there as well. I have a feeling you are looking in the wrong data folder.
So I'm running android 4.3.1 (vanir).
Little confused, there are 2 "data" directories:
/data is empty
/storage/emulated/0/data has 2 folders: colornote and TitaniumBackup. But even in this folder, there really isn't much, the titaniumbackup folder is also empty.
Can you post a screenshot of the directory you are looking in? The data folder you say is empty. It should have a lot of system folders in there. You saying its empty is confusing.

+1, the Delete option should be under Backup & Restore in CWM.

You may need a root browser to see the files

Screenshots posted of the 2 directories in question.
I did find the delete backup option in CWM so thanks for that. But I was also hoping to be able copy off these backups to a safe location on my desktop.

Thanks in advance. ..
I used to remember what files to rename to kill and stop the Ota updates...
Anyone by chance remember what ones they are?

Okay what I ended up doing in addition since the OTA was already downloaded. .
1) go to
/cache
Delete the OTA ZIP if there..
2) Delete or rename
/etc/security/otacerts.zip
3) click on annoying prompt in tray reboot and away it goes..
4) go to
Settings\more\security\security policy updates\
Uncheck "automatic updates"

that did the job..thanks soo much
Not sure if Fwupgrade.apk needs to be renamed. .. I have had it named back for a while now so, it looks like that particular APK isn't a contributer to the update nagging. ..

Hey Scottie
I the system/cache, I don't have or I can't find a cache folder. I did find the OTA once and was able to delete it. But now no luck. Also when I go to system/etc/security/otacerts.zip inside my security folder it has a folder that says cacerts but that's the only one that has a certs in the name of the folder. This dang notification is driving me batty. Anyone have any ideas? Should I dirty flash the Rom again?
Thank you in advance

I found the /cache folder under the root directory, not under /system.

By the way, /etc is under root as well, not under /system. In there, I found the otacerts.zip and renamed it using Root Explorer.
