Official Global Phone with Magisk? - Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Questions & Answers

I would like to install Magisk 17.3 to root a Official Global Max 3 with the 10.0.1.0 ROM. What is the best way to do this - I presume wait the 713 hours to unlock the bootloader and then flash TWRP?

that works for me.

Should I update to 9.5.19?

Just bought note 5 pro and did the incremental update and I am currently running on 9.2.13(Android N) Just Now I got new update 9.5.19 Kinda heard of anti roll back and all. Considering if I want to install various Roms and mods should I not update it ? Since this update directly pushing me from 9.2.13 to 9.5.19 not via 14 I won't have Oreo ( treble ) what should be next step for getting treble support and not having anti roll back ?
1)Updating to Miui 9.5.19 only restricts you from going back to older version of Miui firmware (say the 9.5.14 version). You could still flash custom roms by booting twrp from fastboot and then flashing it in the twrp.
2)Also the fastboot commands will be blocked by updating to 9.5.19, you'll have to flash arbypass.img provided in another thread to unlock them every time, before using the commands.
3) Again, you CAN still flash custom rooms and mods by booting twrp, or flashing it after flashing arbypass.img from this thread ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/how-to/index-everything-anti-roll-t3816219)

What if I want to try a MIUI 10 beta? If I install it, I won't ever be able to install a previous MIUI 9 stable version? And if I install custom ROMs after updating to MIUI 9.5.19, can I easily go back to MIUI 9.5.19 (or latest version of MIUI)? Does this anti rollback **** make you always flash the latest MIUI there is or newer version? What if I'm stuck in a beta? Jesus this is ridiculous, I already regret buying this phone even though it hasn't arrived yet.

redmi note 5 ai and anti rollback

Hello,
- My device Xiaomi redmi note 5 Ai globle v. with miui 9.5.19.0 with anti rollback
- After waiting 15 days i unlock bootloader .. I just unlock it only for root it
- After more and more search I find way to root it by flash twrp and lazy flasher and then Magisk-v16.0
- now I worry about anti rollback .. I just unlock bootloader for rooting, no need to flash custom roms, I'm fine with miui
I worry because what I read about anti rollback,
my last redmi note 4 have not anti rollback and when i get updates, i back to stock recovery and install updates and after updating i flash twrp again and root it
now I stop auto updating in my redmi note 5, i don't know now what can i do if my devices send me miui updates, what can i do to update it without have any problems? sure i don't want any problems or brick my device!

[MIUI 10] Stable OTA updates with TWRP and Root?

I'm gonna unlock the bootloader, install TWRP, root MIUI 10.0.4 with Magisk and enable Camera2API tomorrow. After doing that am I gonna be able to update MIUI through Official OTA updates?

bought my RN5pro via dubai! it was factory UNLOCKED and YES for me it updated from 9.6.4 to 9.6.7 via downloader, and stock recovery!
however even if it cant! you can simply download the rom and flash it via twrp yourself!

I have been doing it with twrp also!
OF and RW both are twrp based!
I've finally unlocked bootloader and now I have MIUI 10.0.4 with TWRP, Magisk and Pixel 3 Camera + Night Sight working! I checked and my phone have ARBV4 enabled, I'm scared of updating MIUI. I will only upgrade if the next stable update is very good, because there's a very high chance that I'll have to root again with Magisk.

does twrp official supports OTA.?
OrangeFox detects OTA Miui packages and patches them when installed, preventing the recovery from being replaced.

The new Gcam is totally worth it! It's the phone we love, but better. We don't have an official developer to our phone, but BSG (the main developer) ported the latest Gcam with Night Sight (NS) working on Android 8.1. You can take amazing photos that can't be taken with the stock camera. Here you can find the latest Gcam releases: GCAM Port
I attached some NS shots (no editing and without tripod)!

With TWRP you can't update OTA. With OF and RW you can but you lose the root. This is not a problem because you can root it again with magisk throuth OF or RW.

You'll be just fine, just if you have Magisk, make sure you have Magisk-x.x.zip in your internal storage when you do OTA update through TWRP recovery. But don't download OTA update through MIUI OS, go to the MIUI website, download latest OTA update full package, put that zip file in your internal storage as well, and lazy flasher.
Reboot into TWRP, adveced wipe, wipe Dalvik cash and cash, go back, Install - install that OTA update you downloaded earlier, again, back, install - Magisk-x.x.zip, back, install lazy flasher, but don't forget to install lazy flasher, i think it's a must. And you're updated. Good luck :good:

KEEP THE stock recovery INTACT
boot in to OF/RW or twrp via fb command
fastboot boot twrp.img ....(sample)
and your phone will boot in to twrp! now Flash rom! and reboot!
this way you can have OTA

If you have MIUI 10.2.1 then no data/cache wipe using OrangeFox recovery when updated to MIUI 10.2.2. I have updated it with no issues or data loss. From MIUI 9 to MIUI 10, it may required to clear cache.

Root redmi note 9 pro joyeuse (MIUI 13.1 Android 12)

Hello xda. I'm thinking about rooting my note 9 pro.. I have the EEA firmware version latest Android 12 update.
V13.0.1.0.SJZEUXM
I'm thinking about grab the boot.img from the firmware, patch it via Magisk and flash it using fast boot. I mean without twrp. Will it be possible for this phone and this android version? I rooted my mi 8 lite this way and it work like a charm no twrp needed. Did you ever tryed this way to root your note 9?
I mean I can't find a stable twrp version.. Especially for Android 12 .
So if i try the method mentioned above will it work? I don't really need twrp for anything. Only need root.
Yes, if you simply follow the official Magisk install guide by TopJohnWu (patching the boot.img with the latest Magisk app and flashing it via fastboot - no need for recovery) it will work. In case you have to use apps which need SafetyNet (running on the official ROM).. that's a whole different story.. then you will need USNF, too, etc..
On MIUI 12 (Android 11) my phone was rooted with Magisk, I updated MIUI and of course the phone got unrooted, I redid the whole boot.img Magisk patching thing and tried installing Magisk, but now it doesn't work, I went around trying a bunch of different TWRP, including unofficial ones, nothing seems to be working.

Question Absolute Beginner - Hate the new operating system, want to change it, questions

Background
I've just switched from a P30 Pro to a Xiaomi 13 Pro, I've never rooted a phone in my life.
I loathe the operating system, it doesn't let me open links in the applications that I want to link them in (I'm trying to open Reddit links in an external app and it will not work no matter what I do, just goes to Chrome or the default Reddit app), the game program doesn't let me swipe the taskbar down to view messages, the notch hiding feature doesn't work.
I don't know how much of this is down to MIUI and how much is down to Android updates but it's terrible. This kind of restriction is exactly what I was hoping to avoid. There hasn't been a single thing I've seen so far that represents and improvement.
Specs
CPU - Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform Octa-core Max 3.19GHz
Android version - 13 TKQ1.220905.001
MIUI version - MIUI Global 14.0.22, also listed is 14.0.22.0(TMBEUXM)
Model - 2210132G
Network is Vodafone
Any more specs needed to answer any of these let me know.
Questions
1. Is it possible to root it?
2. If I root this thing is there a way to install the OS from my previous phone, or some other OS that can easily be customised?
3. If it is possible to root it, how do I do it? I assume there's some guide.
4. If I attempt to root it, is it easy to reset it if I **** it up? I had a horrible experience with bricking a PSP trying to root that about 15 years ago and I'm loathe to repeat it.
First thing to do to root or install roms.
