One handed mode - Huawei Mate 20 X Questions & Answers

To the guys who own a Mate 20 x already: does it have the one handed mode like other Huawei devices? (swipe left or right on the nav bar). Might come in handy with such a big device. ?

Is anyone left handed?

I guess what I mean to say is I am left handed and instinctively hold my phone in my left hand. Not a huge deal until I rotate the phone sideways. At this point all my controls are on the wrong side of the phone. Any one know if a mod or something to fix this?

You want the home, back, and recent apps buttons on the left side?
aokp you can format how you want the nav buttons.
Yeah on the left would be awesome. I would love to see some way where the screen is split on the side and you tap the side you want to make the buttons appear. Probably hard to make sound coherent in text.
Aokp? What's that?

I am left handed and as with most things I have learned to adapt to the right handed centric world.

Keep navigation bar position regardless of position?

Is there anyway to have the navigation bar stay on the right when the display is in landscape orientation?
It takes up so much room when it's on the bottom position while in landscape mode...

The "Navigation bar" (sometimes called navbar) is the Home, Back, Multitask black strip.
See how much space it's taking up at the bottom? I'm looking for a mod that'll move it to the right edge of the screen while in landscape mode.

In aokp Roms there is the option to move it to the side. I know for a fact its in Jamison's solo ROM. You change ui to phone instead of phablet and it will appear on the side.

This may be possible if you are rooted with xposed installed, otherwise wait till roms come out or use a overlay launcher

I'm only 5'10 and my hands can easily reach the home button... I'm not sure I understand the issue.
But as far as I know, you'd need to be rooted in order to add in things like a navigation bar, at least a fully working one. Check the app store and see if theres any options maybe?

well the thing is I'm coming for my original 10.1Wifi and have had custom ROM since day one and being able to do the navigation bar for orientation it's always there, not sure I can get used to the situation of having it strictly on one side. Of course it is rooted all 5 of our Samsung phones are rooted and running custom Roms. Before my note3 usually hadn't bought then till the roms where already established. Haven't used Xposed but guess time to learn.
Root and download gmd gesture control,. It gives you simple gestures To back or home

Handy Soft Keys from the play store gives you pop up home/back/recent apps buttons on one edge of the screen. Moveable so you can put it where your thumb naturally sits. No need for root. Not perfect but works well for me given the silly place Samsung put the home button
I use Button Savior Non Root (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smart.swkey.nonroot)
You can set location, theme and which buttons to show - you can even set custom actions.
The only issue is - if you are not rooted, you can't get menu button.

I second Button Savior with Root. After I switched to that, I went from wanting to break this tablet in half because of the button placement to now I love using it.

I killed the long press on the menu because I kept hitting it and switching over to S Finder with portrait apps. That is seriously confusing the first time it happens. My wife couldn't figure out at all what was going on the one time I handed my tablet to her in portrait and it happened to her. Then I made the long press home Google Now using Xposed so I could use the search app I really wanted in the first place.

Navigation bar

Been loving the Nexus 7 from the day i got it, but only one thing bothers me and that is the navigation bar.
Whie in portrait mode there's nothing wrong with it,m but once you are in landscape mode the bar moves to the bottom half of the screen.
Is there any mod available to make the nav bar go to the sides in landscape mode (like phones do)?
Been trying multiple roms and apps but none seem to have this feature.
Anyone knows a way to make this happen?
No one knows something that can help me?

GravityBox has an option to force the navbar to the bottom on landscape mode (obv. for phones). Seems like a request to the dev could yield the opposite option for tablets.

Two navigation bars (handles) on S9 (One UI)

Two white semi transparent navigation bars (handles) have appeared on either side of the screen out of nowhere on my S9 (One UI) ...similar to the edge handle. How does one remove them..I have looked everywhere in the phone for a solution but there seems nothing that I can find. Swiping the bars seems to function like a back/return button. How do I get rid of them as they are constant on the either side of the screen....
