as i already said the edl mode bug and it will fix in future : )

Screen mirroring not work. I installed magisk and xposed installer. From xposed installer -framework -menu, reboot and reboot to recovery work.

What a goddamn good ROM you have built. Seriously, I wasn't expecting such stability for an Oreo ROM for this device. It's perfect and the offline charging doesn't bother me at all. Now, there are some few bugs I came across.
Screen responsiveness is unpredictable. Most of the time it works like a charm, but certain areas on the screen start to be unresponsive after a while. It isn't a huge deal as a reboot fixes the problem temporarily. I'm not sure if its due to the screen density changes which was automatically set to 399 (a bit of an odd number). Yet, it happens every once in a while.
Rooting Magisk doesn't work, at least from TRWP or from the app itself. Recovery hangs while flashing and the app gives an unknown error. It might be an Oreo related problem so I'll try doing so using ADB, or some other method and post back.
There are some issues with the default lineage camera when using Adoptive Storage. It won't practically make any photos. It's not a huge deal, as I can use Open Camera, which works fine, but the Asus PixelMaster lacks the "Laser-Focus". It's probably some drivers issue I'm not aware of, but I don't find it a priority as Asus themselves deprecated the app years ago.
As for the rest. Great work, it has already become my daily driver.

Does otg work? Dual Sim?
Does it pass safetynet?

OTG works fine for me. On the other hand, it doesn't pass SafetyNet at all, it's common when it comes to custom ROMS, specially for unsupported devices. In this case it neither passed the CTS Profile nor the BasicIntegrity test coming from a clean flash. As for Dual SIM, I've yet to try it. I'll post further results in the following days.
Battery life is quite impressive and boot times are incredibly fast. I can't wait to install Amplify, Brevent and Xposed to see how much juice I can squeeze using this ROM.

I think there are some Magisk modules that could help, but I haven't really tried them as my local banking apps don't require my phone to pass SafetyNet, not even PayPal. Only Google Pay is problematic in this case and as far as I know, Netflix and Pokemon Go too.
I'm sorry I can't really give you a better answer as I'm a late adopter of the Magisk systemless way of rooting.

1. Use magisk hide for banking apps.
2. For using tez/google pay : just go to apps settings and turn off the telephone permission of google play services.
There you go , have fun

I didn't try this ROM, but installed the Lineage OS/RR and now the 8.1 AOSP Extended ROMs, then used Magisk module :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/app...onfig-t3789228
No problems for my Z010D Asus to pass both tests. Then use Magisk Hide for banking apps and others not to see it.
However, if you can't pass the BasicIntegrity test in the first place, that is a big problem, almost everyone should pass that. They have some information at the link above.

what are the bugs???
is there any battery drain issue??
does the hotspot works perfectly???
does the double tap to wake up works??
does the volte works??
tell me if there is an issue or bug.....

thank you, dev! this ROM saved my day, coming from a bricked z10D when I tried installing crdroid 8.1 unofficial.

Not working: 1.double tap to wake, 2. LED when charging, 3. At times, screen freezes, does not respond to touch, have to reboot
Uninstalled for now, not usable as a daily driver. Going back to Android 7.1 (AIM ROM)

Is it VoLTE?

PixelExperience P GSI
An AOSP based ROM, with gapps included, and all Pixel stuffs (launcher, wallpapers, icons, fonts, bootanimation).
Based on Android 9.0
PLS DON'T FLASH GAPPS, ALREADY INCLUDED
Warning
You'll most probably loose ALL your data, and might break your phone. Please use with extreme caution!
This ROM is not mine, I gave the credits to the autors, I'm just explaining how to install on Moto E5!!
Maybe you're wondering, what's GSI?
Basically it's the system image, you install it on a previous ROM already installed, like LOS 15.1 for us in this case, that means that it can't be installed using stock ROM, you need to install LOS 15.1 previously:
[James] https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e5/development/rom-unofficial-lineage-os-15-1-moto-e5-t3818732
[Nora] https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e5/development/rom-unofficial-lineage-os-15-1-moto-e5-t3834788
How to install
Go to the explanation of TWRP: https://www.xda-developers.com/flash-generic-system-image-project-treble-device/
What's working
Camera but a little bit darker (use open camera instead)
Torch
Data
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
Fingerprint
Rotation
GPS
MTP
SD as Internal Storage
What doesn't work:
- Hotspot
- Graphic Glitches and Lag Fix: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hmdrznl7ajicu1b/PixelExp-lag-fix.zip?dl=0
- voLTE (not tested but I guess that is not working)
Here's a video showing that the ROM is working on XT1944-4 (Nora): https://youtu.be/sgS1nKQ3-p0
About performance even using lag fix is not as good as it should be, Is not full optimized yet, I would rate it with 8.5/10
Warning (II)
Someone reports that on E5 Play (XT1921-1) WiFi is not working, wipe Dalvik/ART in TWRP it could fix that, also it seems that keyboard it glitchy
I'm not the maintainer of this ROM, so don't report bugs here, the original thread is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/9-0-pixelexperience-p-t3833294
This ROM was tested on Moto E5 XT1944-2/4 Nora, but it should work on James and Rhannah
You can skip setup wizard in order to prevent the messages of uncertified device, then you can try to access to google account and then register the phone, if you try to access to Google on the first boot, you won't be able to continue, it depends on how much lucky you are, keep in mind this advertisement
ROM: https://github.com/EnesSastim/Downloads/releases
To root this ROM just install Magisk Manager, then reboot to recovery and flash Magisk v17.1

You should try, it is supposed to work on all variants because of Treble support, make a backup or take the stock ROM from your variant in case of something goes wrong

Wow! I'm gonna try this out for sure! Been waiting for either HavocOS rom or Pixel Experience to come out. Will this work with fastboot booting into twrp instead of flashing it?
I have the Boost Mobile E5 Plus (XT1924-8) which has 3GB ram, 32GB rom, and the octacore 1.4Ghz snapdragon 435.
Wifi is not working, keyboard is glitchy, a popup appears for a fraction of a second before disappearing (all of this for 1921-1)

Wipe Dalvik/ART and cache it maybe would fix that issue, I read that solution for LOS 15.1 and it maybe work for Wi-fi

Yes, here in XT1944-2 we need to boot into TWRP with fastboot, so that's the way that it will work

Glad to hear that it worked, yeah I know that but unfortunately I don't know if it a issue from the kernel, or because some missing graphics drivers, I tried to fix that but without success, we need to wait until the ROM is updated because as I said I'm not the device, I just provide a way to install on Moto E5 and the fix for lag, of course I will look for something else
keep us updated, thanks...

ok i will try this night
Anybody tried it? Is VoLte, U-TOUCH working, any lags in UI, can anybody share some screenshots? It looks promising and I'm interested in this Rom
I always used to look forward to Chinese os on time on my Nexus 5. But since nougat, stock android have been adding amazing features. And then going back to these Chinese, iOS like os feels like we're going back to old school ?.
But I still love these anyway. I'll flash this ROM and give feedback when im not busy

Friend the option VoLte is present in the rom, as here in Brazil does not have support VoLte has no way of saying, U-touch this standard, home key lights the screen, holding the home key the screen locks, accessibility becomes present 2 touch the screen to turn on, the system is very fluid and responsive without lag or locking, the photos are on google drive feel free to test.
Installed the rom.
1. For installing, treble enabled twrp is also enough
2. Volte works. One has to enable it in settings.
3. I used Magisk 17.2 to root.
4. The Rom was very fluid and smooth.
5. This Rom is not globlal version. It is Chinese version. In many apps like themes, videos, chinese characters are present.
6. It didnt encrypt my phone.
7. Generally all menus works. There was no fcs and random restarts.
Sent from my z2_plus using XDA Labs

Sadly nougat is so old i think. But may be good features of this rom lead me to try.
seems Nice! ils gcam mod / oss working on it?
I tried ROM last night.
Rom is very fluid.
Heats up during the boot but that normal.
UI is so beautiful ?
Gapps are pre-installed.
Almost everything works ie Volte, camera, and all basic things I tested.
Battery backup is decent.
Flyme os is full of features and that's great.
Unfortunately, I switched back to pie hence can't share any screenshot!
Thanks for the rom dev

Mi 8 has ARB permissive, so don't worry about that.
So I shouldn't even try this ROM with official twrp? Only recommended one?

Installed and runs fine for now!! Google pay doesn’t wokr out of the box and bluetooth crashed repeatedly on my phone until I rebooted.. will further investigate
Fast and great work!
Several issues to report:
1) There is one or more app keeping on start automatically and error exit, a system dialog pops up briefly and disappear quickly. It may interrupt the other app. Any where to manage the auto start apps?
2) After first time bootup, swap close the apps won't work. After reboot, it works.
This is the finding so far.
Environment: Dipper dirty flash from Pie Plus 14/9 version, and also DM-Verity ZIP.
---------- Post added at 11:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:14 PM ----------
Further issue discovered:
First call in to mobile: incoming call appear several times then disappear, vibrate works, and recent call history is empty.
Second call into mobile: no incoming call appear, vibrate works, and recent call history is empty.
Series issues now: Can't make outgoing call.
Grabbed a phone number from website, click it, it goes of phone UI with the correct number, press phone icon to dial, no outgoing call made...

you need to flash kernel which already patched with su. however it will grant root access to all app and no manager so you can't hide it

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10 (Q), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.
GPL compliance:

Device tree source code: LineageOS/android_device_xiaomi_gemini
Kernel source code: LineageOS/android_kernel_xiaomi_msm8996
Broken / not yet supported:
VoLTE (?)
Working:
Camera (and flashlight)
WiFi
NFC
Bluetooth
Telephony (Calls and Data)
Audio (Record and Playback)
Video Playback
Sensors
GPS
HW crypto (FDE)
Compatibility:
Compatible with all Xiaomi Mi 5 variants (32GB / 64GB / 128GB). Xiaomi Mi 5S and 5S Plus are not supported.Builds are based off the Xiaomi's Android 8.0 firmware with proprietary blobs from MIUI V10.2.2.0.OAAMIXM global stable package.
Downloads:
Official download links
Notice:
No custom kernels are supported in this thread. Only stock kernel and official builds will be supported. No bug reports if that's not the case.
Installation:
Reboot to recovery (TWRP recovery for Mi 5 - Direct link)
Format /system, /data and /cache
Install LineageOS zip package
Install [optional] a Google Apps package of your choice (Open GApps is advisable, but stock and super variants are not recommended!!!)
Important notes:
Current minimal * required * firmware version is MIUI V10.2.2.0.OAAMIXM global stable, otherwise installation will fail. Download the latest dev fastboot package directly from Xiaomi and flash it prior to installing LineageOS or, alternatively, download and install one of the latest custom packages containing firmware only (at your own risk).
GApps can only be flashed on clean installs.
Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if MIUI was previously installed and device was encrypted.
Credits & collaborations:
This work is due to efforts from Mi5Devs founding members (@h2o64 and me) that did the full device bring-up. Huge thanks to @deovferreira for all the help during the kernel bring-up after source code dropped. Last but not least, pleasure having @luca020400 and @LuK1337 onboard since the bring-up of the whole Xiaomi 8996 family. Finally, all LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!

Keep in mind that this is still beta. There are some features left to port.
Is there any interest in updating the base kernel version? If possible, of course.
You sir is awesome. So happy to see lineage 17 available for Gemini.

Is magisk supported?
Most people seem to have downloaded gapps nano. is it working?
Any reviews?
UPDATE 1:
To all the people who couldnot download coz it exceeded download quota. Do this:
Add lineage os to your google drive(buttom at upper right)
Then make a copy(right click and click in make copy)
Then download the copy. lol
UPDATE 2:
Magisk 20 works well.
Ok gapps nano is stable.
Phone doesnot overheat much.
Android q adds too much animation and it feels extra slow. I turned off all the animation.
Cannot install apk from 3rd party file manager for some reason. ---- Just the AMAZE file manager. Works with solid explorer.
Also digital well being doesnot work.
Some animations are very choppy.
Battery indicator doesnot change from its default. Battery life is good though.
Persistant notification is irritating.
Changing accent color option is in developer instead of display setting.
Adaway isnt working.
Most important is SElinux is disabled.
UPDATE 3:
Battery life has gone downhill. Standby time is good. But drain when using it is too high.
Its kinda laggy right now. Some animation are very choppy.
Doesnot heat up much.
Charging speed is way too slow.

I'm having problems with WiFi. When I reboot, my WiFi network is forgotten, so I have to reconnect with the password. Also when I reboot, tapping the fingerprint for home doesn't work. And battery is draining pretty fast, but keep up the good work. I know this is still the early stages of development.:good:
Root issue ( default system apps not deleted)
Magisk modules issue( freeze on mi logo)
Not reboot on recovery mode
Google drive broke again. Are there any links to other file hosting sites? or when can I download from google drive?

Can anyone check if the Wi-Fi broadcast (Miracast WFD) is working on los17?
Can you upload los17 on xiaomi.eu 9.10.10? do you need to upload MIUI 8.5.10 Global dev?

It is indeed a known problem that Offline Charging isn't available, once the developer of the LineageOS ROM finds time to implement this, I will most certainly include it in this and other ROMs too.
Hey
thank you soo much! I've been using an OP7t but now I'm actually thinking of giving another chance to the Samsung.
Mind someone giving some help on root and magisk please? Last time I rooted was 5 years ago
Basically, I rooted on stock and I have had magisk working. Then I followed this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-0-x-twrp-for-galaxy-s10-e-5g-exynos.4180287/ to have twrp and installed this pixelexperience rom. How do I get magisk with hopefully the security working (with the proper config and patches). I found this file: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/14LgOP_7B_N55FR2_v4pBce_lLU7aNu-M however it's unclear to me which one is for my version (s10+ SEE Europe edition). I get I have to use it as a base for magisk patching (right?) but I just don't get which one?
Thanks
My bad, got the idea...
hmm
how to get the fingerprint working properly? does it involve the CLI tool provided in magisk or it should work natively?

If you have everything setup you just need to flash the proper .img to your boot partition.
That's it.
You need beyond2LTE.
Don't use magisk patching, I tried to update it through that and after my phone didn't boot. Fixed that with the .img in the link.

the trick is not to long press the fingerprint
Aslo, I've read through the telegram channel that actually one should setup using the CLI - but only if it's not working (telegram of Ivan Maler - lineagOS 18.1 dev).... There are a lot of helpful hints there btw.
ok, are there some culprits as to when is magisk working after reboot? seems I have lost root in along the way.
Can anyone else confirm whether the Bixby button works or not? And also, is there a setting somewhere (or a workaround) to force some apps and games to utilize the full screen including the notch area as in stock One UI? (I heard that there was a setting for this in Developer's Options, but haven't been able to find anything so far)
PS. Solid ROM BTW, updated from Pixel Experience Beta. Been using that one as my daily driver since January, and now updated to this one.

I think you mean the display cutout settings. I don't think they work to do that though. I think there is no way to force full screen unless you use Samsung ROMs. It's up to the app developers to do it themselves.
hey
does anyone have problems booting and rebooting the phone? Basicaly mine is stuck with a black screen. The only way I can get SOME signs of life is to boot it using the volume-downd + powerkey combination and then volume-up, bixby and power to get to twrp bootloader. From there I select reboot to system but nothing happens.
I thought that the reboot was somewhat klunky with magisk but I really didn't learn the trick yet. I appreciate any advice.
thanks
Google assistant is not working on the bixby button
Even configuring still not working
Hi all,
Is there an easy way to get off the BETA pixel experience onto this one, if I have magisk flashed?
