Playing a VR Video on Mi Max - Xiaomi Mi Max Questions & Answers

I am using a normal Google Cardboard headset with a Mi Max 1 and cannot get any VR video to play properly.
In the cardboard app everything is perfect but in a VR video player like AAA VR Cinema Cardboard 3D SBS the image fills the whole screen and you get double vision regardless of what settings I select. It's meant to pull the configuration from the cardboard app but doesn't seem to be following the layout settings.
Can anyone recommend a VR video app or settings that actually work with the Mi Max?
Thanks

Nexus 4 can Mount&Blade too!

As you now, Mount&Blade Warband is limited to Tegra 4 only (Tegra Shield), but with help of GLTools we can open it on Nexus 4. Even when we start the game we can't do almost anything without hardware buttons. While using GameKeyboard I was able to play with onscreen buttons.
Here's what I've done:
GLTools - fake CPU/GPU from template Tegra 4 for Warband (1st screen)

GameKeyboard - Choose Touchscreen->gamepad and check joystick mode option (2nd & 3rd screen)

Start M&B with onscreen buttons - if everything set up correctly you shouldn't have any problem with analog sticks.
This is awesome love this game. Do you think it would be possible to play using a ps3 controller?

Nice work
keep going.
I remember this nice game, it would be very cool to play it on the phone/tablet
I seem to get very blurry text, and black/no textures, any idea how to fix this?
Edit: Nvm, just need to make sure gltools installs the texture plugin correctly.
As a second question, any tips on making the game have better fps?

This game easily stands on par with Killzone Mercenary on PsVita.
Crank the video settings to the max possible and enjoy. On the shield is seriously WONDERFUL.

I cant seem to change the setting from optimal(which looks like xb1 anyway) and the fire button doesn't shoot full auto when pressed all the way down!

Something is wrong man. I can change the video settings, it asks me to reboot the game, and voilà.
As for the buttons it works perfectly.
I also cant change the video quality and also get the trigger fail when pressed all way down
I'm finding that it only shoots when the trigger is pressed all the way down, seems like a bug to do with the game not recognising it's an analogue controller? Shame, gameloft are always ridiculous with mapping controls (eg: making us use the bumpers in MC4)...

it doesn't have the necessary sensors such as gyroscope or magnetometer you can still watch side-by-side 3D movies and videos, but most VR apps won’t work

If you are root, there is a way to enable the gyroscope to make work the VR, you can check my thread.

Not able to play 360 deg videos in YouTube app

Hi,
I bought the honor view 20 knowing that it have the cool features and sensors (gyroscope and accelerometer) required for VR experience. But lately I discovered that it cannot play 360 deg videos in YouTube app. It's otherwise able to render 360 deg view in VR apps and games able see demo in card board app but in YouTube, the videos appears to be flattened. Heck I can even play the 360 deg videos from facebook. But not here. Can anybody help me out on this?

It doesn't work for GameCube games on the Note 10
Am running Gamecube games on Dolphin.
Only thing i changed was the Graphic Settings Video Backend to be Vulkan.
Was able to play Zelda Twilight Princess at around 25-30fps
@elevation_ph
Download Dolphin-MMJ. You'll have to Google it and download it from his GitHub. Set the following setting:
General:
CPU core - JIT ARM64 Decompiler
Dual Core - Toggled ON
Override Emulated CPU Speed - Toggled ON
Emulated CPU Speed - 75% (you may have to play with number based on the game)
Sync on Skip Idle - Toggled ON
JIT Follow Branch - Toggled ON
Audio Stretching - Toggled ON
Graphics:
Video Backend - Vulcan
Compile Shaders Before Starting - Toggled ON
Backend Multithreading - Toggled ON
Enhancements:
Internal Resolution - Either 720p or 1080p. No higher
Full Scene Anti-Aliasing - OFF
Anisotropic Filtering - OFF
Post Processing Affect - FXAA Natural
Force 24-Bit color - Toggled ON
Everything else Toggled OFF
Hacks:
Toggle everything ON, EXCEPT for GPU Texture Decoding. GPU Text Decoding will break your game.
With those settings I can play Eternal Darkness on my Note 10+ or my Tab S6 at 1080p and 60fps, either directly on the device, or hooked up to my TV with DeX. I used an XBox One S controller with it and it works great.
Using High Performance mode on the Note 10+ does seem to help, plus the 12GB of RAM make it run just slightly smoother then the Tab S6, but both run it amazingly well.
You can always play with those settings, but that's the best settings I've found for Eternal Darkness, which is a pretty taxing game to run in Dolphin.
Hope that helps!
