No way to simunlock ZVF firmware yet?

No, you have to downgrade to ZV8 first.

Which at this point is unfortunately impossible still with ZVF ;(. You cannot do sim unlock hack or tether hack with ZVF. And you cannot downgrade to ZV8 without destroying the phone either. Pretty much nothing you can do with ZVF except to just return it
I gather at this point most LG G5 phones are off contract and paid for. you will probably not have problem having sprint sim unlock it domestically and internationally. I have to nag them a few times but they did it at the end and my phone was only added to the network for a few days (not the 50 days supposedly on the written policy)...... So I suggest you call them up and ask persistently to unlock it...
But this does not fix the issue of tethering. ZVF pretty much lock you out of the ability to change apn type for sprint so you can't add dun to force the g5 to tether.
So the only solution is to buy a new phone.... I did have to return a phone I bought on ebay. Make sure you send msg to all the sellers and keep asking them to check the firmware version so you can get firmware below ZVB. DONT GET ANYTHING ABOVE ZVB....

Its possible to unlock it with remotely services. Just find on google for those services you should unlock it but sim data will not work same as when sprint will unlock this phone officialy. If you doesn't find any service so here is the one where I was unlocked many of phones.

Good to know someone has figured out a way to unlock ZVF at least for voice. The problem is that still don't work for data. As well as you can't change the apn for sprint sim card to allow for free tethering with the hiddenmenu apk.
At this point, for anyone that wants to get sprint lg g5, the best thing is before you buy your phone, make sure to inquire about the software ver and make sure it's ZVA or less.

Make my TMobile S4 usable in India...please...

Hi all,
I would like to start off by saying that i dont care about any warranty or any such issues. I had bought a S4 in US which i brought to India without ever activating on T Mobile network. This means that on contacting T Mobile, they are unable to send me any activation code which could SIM Unlock my device.
So now my only problem is to make my device usable. I see two options:
a) SIM Unlock
b) Complete removal of firmware and install some custom ROM, bootloader and other components to get rid of T mobile network
Problem is that i am a newbie and couldnt find any thread that could help me. MY device is updated to the latest version i.e. i am on 4.4.2 with baseband as M919UVUF9B4 and knox bootloader
Can someone help me out. I have already tried rooting the device and trying some apps which suggested that would help me unlock my device but none of them worked..
Thanks

If you paid T-Mobile the full price for the phone approx US$500-US$600 (not the subsidized price) before you left, they should provide you with the SIM Unlock code. You may need to talk with another customer service agent. However, if you only paid the subsidized price, then you've broken the contract with them, and they won't. You'll have to contact a company that will sell you an unlock code.
As to rooting the phone, have you tried this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294005 ?
If this doesn't work, you're doing it wrong.

Flashing a custom rom will not allow it to work on a different network. The phone will still be sim locked.
Like the post above me says, call T Mobile and have them give you the code. If you didn't pay the phone off, they won't give it to you nor should they.
Chainfire's Region Lockaway app will SIM unlock in the process of removing region restrictions. I remember reading something to that effect anyway.
For use chainfire's Region Unlock, you must be root.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
@Skipjacks & rlichtefeld: I have already tried calling T Mobile and they are not ready to provide me any unlock code since the phone was never used on the network. Yes, its paid in full but i am in India now and cannot do much from back here to fight with them.
Have already tried chainfire's Region Unlock but its unusable on 4.4.2.
Please suggest the ways in which i can unlock my phone which is on 4.4.2 with baseband as M919UVUF9B4 and knox bootloader and i request you to please do not assume that phone is blacklisted or the warranty be void. i just want my phone to work here and that's it.

id suggest you find a website that unlocks phones, it usually costs less than 10 bucks or probably like 500 or so rupees but it should save you a lot of headaches

[Q] How to determine which carrier I'm locked to when there are no bloatware apps?

I have a Canadian Bell S3 i747m which broke and I got some random guy to fix it for me. He frustratingly ended up installing a ROGERS circuit board(or so he says) without bothering to check the fact my phone was loaded with Bell bloatware or just asking me my carrier.
I now need to unlock the SIM in order to use it properly and I just want to be sure I have the correct information and I don't end up paying for an unlock code that will not work since I didn't provide the proper carrier.
My SIM card (not sure if that matters): BELL
My board/IMEI: ROGERS (Apparently)
I wanted to determine which carrier I was tied to but I see 0 bloatware in my phone which makes me think the guy is wrong/lying and it's not actually a Rogers board. Is there another way to determine which carrier my phone is tied to?

The carrier doesn't matter. Once unlocked, it's unlocked for every carrier (unless it's unlocked by code).
You could go check the APN to see which carrier it's from.

Oh really? I was looking at the gsmliberty site for unlocking and it asks for a carrier. I can't post the link since I'm a new account but here it is split:
gsmliberty(dot)net/shop/samsung-galaxy-s3-unlock-codes-p-3528.html
I then went into their Terms of Service and it specifies that if I provide an incorrect carrier and the unlock code doesn't work then I won't get a refund. Does this mean this site is BS and I should avoid it and find another?
EDIT: Oh I see you added info about checking the APN. Don't know what that is but I'll Google it. Assuming I find it should I still avoid gsmliberty or should I give them a shot?

I went to Settings > Connections > More networks > Mobile Networks and it tells me this: Insert SIM card to access network services
EDIT: Ok I finally found the AP and CSC by dialing *#1234# and then comparing it to sammobiles firmware to find out which carrier it is tied to. Still worried about the fact I get the SIM error above but hopefully that will go away when I attempt to unlock it

Umm I though you'd have access to it w/o a sim card.
I'm not sure how else you could determine which carrier the motherboard is locked to.

I just ended up editing my last post a minute before you posted this. I did determine the carrier and it is in fact Rogers. I was planning on just getting an unlock code through a website. You mentioned that means it will only be unlocked for them which I'm fine with but I'm just concerned about the fact I have a Bell SIM. Will that cause any problems with the unlock process or future dealings with BELL?
Actually I have a better question. Can I just put Bell's firmware on my phone instead of Rogers using Odin and then get an unlock for Bell and theoretically I'll be back to where I was?
What bootloader is on the phone? If you have the 4.3 bootloader, you'll have to buy an unlock code. If you have the 4.1.1 bootloader and you are running a stock ROM (doesn't matter about the carrier), you can use the free method to unlock it. If you have the 4.1.2 bootloader, downgrade to the Rogers 4.1.1 ROM and unlock it using the free method.

I'm running 4.3 so I know I need an unlock code unfortunately. I have a Bell SIM card but have Rogers firmware. The site I was looking to buy an unlock code from asks for my carrier so I presume I need to use Rogers. Will that be fine or am I able to just throw Bell firmware on my phone and buy an unlock code specifying Bell as my carrier?
I am not sure of you can load the stock Bell firmware and change the phone so it is locked to Bell. If this were the case, owners could switch carriers by flashing different firmware.

Unlocking is permanent and unlocks to every carrier. Knowing which one you're locked to only matters to get a unlock code, after that, it's free for all.

Gotcha, so there's no point in flashing Bell firmware at all. I just need the correct one for getting an unlock code in the first place. Thanks for helping a noob out.

Baseband with the Metro ROM is G920T1UVU1AOCH, but the problem is, I flashed both of the S6's I have here to the Metro ROM to unlock them so I have no idea what the original baseband was lol I hope you do!
Any luck on the S6 Edge unlock? I scour the internet everyday for developments but I havent seen anything I feel like this S6 Edge I have is either going to sit here forever or Ill have to sell it as a blacklisted phone because its financed and I KNOW its going to get blocked.

the fact that baseband has a G920T1 means that it did changed the radio , while every damn firmware i tried never change the baseband ., is good to know though ... and if you have an S6 Edge try this before selling it .. ask to borrow someone's tmobile sim card and try to at least do a temporary unlock if that doesn't work then download the app VyprVPN select germany (i did) with the tmobile sim still in and try temporary unlock again,,, doing this at least it bought a month's use of my phone , maybe a solution will come up later on.

So youre saying that when you flash the Metro ROM to it, its not changing your baseband? I used the one posted by UnlockBase. Were you able to successfully unlock yours?
And yeah, Ive tried the TEMP and PERM unlock on the S6 Edge. I put my TMobile dealer SIM in it hoping that would help as its a free $80 monthly demo line I get for selling TMobile service. I would gladly try that method, but since we sell these phones, a TEMP unlock wont help me I need a permanent solution so once I sell it, Ill know the customer wont have any issues down the road. I have both of the S6's up for sale now that they are unlocked, but I have always wondered if Samsung REGION LOCKS these phones. Ive tested my personal ATT line in it, and it works great, but alot of my customers on eBay export these phones overseas, so Im hoping these new Samsungs arent region locked :/

when you try to flash any firmware with odin it ends on FAIL.. you can flash rom with twrp but baseband remains the same ,, so i dont know if the unlock app from tmobile is tied in the bootloader or radio or something else ... so far i'll just enjoy the 30days left and see what happens after that ... cause after it accepted my att sim card a message will appear reminding me the unlock was to end on Jul01 and if i wanna to do permanent unlock, so i flash a firmware from a canada version G925W so the reminder went away but i dont know if that means that in 30 days i'll be locked again

I gotcha. I did something similar. I flashed the international ROM on the S6 EDGE via TWRP and it told me the code is incorrect. I know the code is correct because if I ever it in with no SIM and the #7465625*638*# and put the code in it says successfull. This is SOOOOOO frustrating. The lock has to do with the radio or the bootloader/baseband.

You can't root it. Theres no known method. Zva and lower can dg to zv6 but if ure zvb and above no dg and no root
Posted all over the sprint threads
A 3rd party company may be able to unlock but without root you can't even edit the apn sprint has it greyed out. Sprint will if u r a customer of there's and you fulfil there requirements. So even of it is unlocked you won't get any data or mms. You can thank sprint for that

At this point in time. Never I don't like to say that but. Things always happens. But for now. All out of luck. Sell it get a rootable model or phone. I own a sprint g4 on zv6 rooted and it sucks not having any dev on it at all now all due to encrypted bootloader. Even the new twrp release is for lollipop only. If u look in the sprint threads there was a link for a company that unlocks mm sprint g4s but still without root cannot edit apn settings

Update to exploitable firmware?

Hello all,
I have an LG G8 on November firmware (I think) on Pie, not Android 10. I am looking to update to an exploitable firmware, but don't want to pay for AT&T service.
How do I go about doing this? I can see I can buy AT&T sim cards on eBay, but not sure what to go with.
My phone is also locked AT&T, but it looks like we don't have an unlocking solution yet. I know putting red pocket on the phone doesn't give me updates and still makes it so AT&T's unlock portal doesn't see my phone IMEI.

Unfortunately, there isn't really a way to do anything right now since the pie firmware isn't exploitable. The only thing you can do is try to call at&t tech support and have them add your imei to the update database

It looks like LG installs updates incrementally, so by purchasing an AT&T sim I think I can get to the exploitable firmware just by doing a couple updates. I'll post back once I get the sim
