[MAGISK][MOD][13/11][v1]Always On Display For OnePlus 6T - OnePlus 6T Themes, Apps, and Mods

It'll allow OP6T users to enable the hidden AOD option in Settings/Display/Ambient Display
Disclaimer : I'm not responsible for any damage to your device.
Its a very basic mod, there are no additional features, just enabled the hardcoded AOD in android.
We'll refine it further by inputs from you guys!
Download : DRIVE
Removing the mod may result in a bootloop, delete /data/resource-cache via TWRP to fix the bootloop.
Instructions :
Just download the mod and flash it via magisk.
However users have reported problems while uninstalling it, as it does use OMS overlays it may cause bootloop in OOS roms after uninstalling it. Flash this and it'll fix the issue.
I would suggest users to just disable it in the settings instead of uninstalling the module
This mod was not possible without the help from testers

hmm will this enable fingerprint sensor to be always on? - unlocking using finger print would not need to power on screen?

Yes, a user has reported that fingerprint icon remains on AOD.

acervenky

thanks, works fine for me.
edit: i deactivated it...
got some security issues:
when screen is locked and AOD active: if i touch the FPS with a non saved finger it shows the homescreen while scanning the finger. it fails to unlock and gets back to AOD lockscreen. but it's a huge issue for me that it shows the homescreen while scanning.

I can happily say it works perfectly... Thanks.

When I get root, this is a mod I'm going to add.. Great work.

Very good, the time position seems to be unable to move by myself

Not recommended to flash.
It enables aod but there are trade offs..
1. you have security issues, your homescreen is visible from lockscreen if you try with wrong finger.
2. even if u disable in settings u cant get the oneplus ambient display back.
Still its v1, there are improvements needed in above issues .
question?
can i flash the bootloop fix zip via adb?? to remove this module and fix bootloop issue?? because i dont have twrp..

Have anyone noticed any significant battery hit due to this mod?

Ok so a quick update, the OPAod apk is present but the always on feature is removed, maybe adding this in the aod_settings will enable the always on switch?
Code:
<com.oneplus.settings.AodSwitchPreference android:icon="@drawable/empty" android:persistent="false" android:title="@string/oneplus_aod_mode_always_on" android:key="aod_always_on_switch" android:singleLineTitle="false" />
EDIT : Can someone try this out : DRIVE
To use it you will have to completely uninstall v1. Flashing it on v1 will result in a bootloop.
Also you don't need to flash the bootloop fix to uninstall v2, just disable or delete it from magisk.

acervenky

Tried it. This version doesn't even let you open Ambient Display to get to the settings to turn it on unfortunately. Clicking on Ambient Display does nothing at all.

When turning off the screen it acts just like the standard Ambient display with a few exceptions. Tap to show no longer works. Pickup works but the status bar is not "blacked out" like it should be, I can see my wallpaper underneath the status bar but the rest of the screen is black and shows the ambient display (time, notifications, etc.).

Unable to apply boot. . .

Like he's said in a previous post. It works when you pick up the phone. However, it does show the status bar and you can't go into the Ambient Display settings. Thankfully, when you don't place the correct fingerprint on it then it defaults to the lockscreen saying your fingerprint isn't recognized.
Overall, besides the status bar and only having lift to wake, I'm very impressed.
Edit: Just disabling the Magisk module works to renable the default Ambient Display. Very nice!!

are you rooted or on custom rom...
if you are on either then you can remove htc lock and weather apps and it would default back to AOSP lock screen which is neat

Hijacking this thread, since you seem to have experience with using this debloater app. When I tried it I couldn't get the stock lock screen while having any password and fingerprint sensor protection. It worked fine with just the swipe to unlock, but if I enabled any secure unlock it would just bypass the lockscreen. Any solutions to this?

whenever you remove htc lockscreen even if the fingerprint scanner it doesn't you would need to set your fp again... thats what we had to do...
security and set fingerprint again...
not sure if debloater does in any other way...

It's still the same for me. If I enable any kind of security (PIN or fp or both) the phone just bypasses the lockscreen. Really weird. Do I have to disable anything else other than the HtcLockScreen.apk?

Download any Terminal Emulator from PlayStore.
Open it and type:
su (allow root access)
pm hide com.htc.lockscreen
But it will disable WakeGestures too.
If you want them back check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/themes/xposed-htc-media-gestures-t3486376/page1
Thanks and with terminal emulator from phone or worked.
But after the reboot it shows no lock screen...I mean...neither the Marshmallow default one, which I thought should be there after disabling HTC lock screen.
So there's really no way to have a STOCK lock screen instead of the HTC one?

I'm not sure what went wrong on your side.
Maybe try to disable and re-enable the lockscreen in security settings.

No, I mean, the stock lock screen is there, but isn't showed when I tap on the home screen like with HTC lock screen...the only way to show the stock lock screen is to press the power button... if I touch the home button the phone immediately go to home screen, when fingerprint is recognised...
This is how Nexus/pixel phone works?
If yes...well... everything is normal then...and I've done my job right with terminal...

Ah okay, now I understand what you mean.
This is one advantage of the default lockscreen. Unlocking the phone with fingerprint is much faster.
You have three options:
- Use power button to see the lockscreen
- Use double tap to wake to see the lockscreen (you need xposed for this)
- Use GravityBox. You can change how the lockscreen react after you use the homebutton (unlock the phone directly or just show the lockscreen - you need xposed for this)

For information, double tap to see lock screen...you know the module? I already have xposed with N-Ify module active...
Gravity box i know the module but never installed by now.
I saw that with Nexus 5X works the same, fingerprint unlock immediately, touch the sensor only vibrate (if fingerprint not recognized), power button show lockscreen.

There is a new lift to display function. Basically wakes the phone when you lift the phone - just like the proximity wave.

Ambient display needs to be enabled first, it's just above the option for Lift Up Display.

Yes, I totally agree - this is a frustrating 'update' that feels like going backward. It's great that now picking up the phone turns on the ambient display - but when the ambient display is showing, why can't I touch to interact with the notifications? Now I need to 1) pick up the phone, 2) double tap to wake, and 3) touch the notification. This adds a NEW step #2, which in addition to being annoying also hurts battery life. Why can't I just lift the screen to turn on ambient display and then interact with the notifications like previously without having to wake the phone? I used this feature multiple times per day; now I want to downgrade to the previous version!

This new system let you use off screen gestures, because in old when this ambient display appear you have to wake and re turnoff screen for use off screen gestures. Just use the power button for intereact with your notification

yes, but the point was I DIDN'T have to press the power button before. Now i HAVE to. WHY? How is this better than the previous version???? I want to downgrade. That was my favorite and most useful feature and now its gone for no reason!
Yes it a differents usages, i understand your frustrations but in Oreo ambient display work like this but notification text disappear to just let an icon..
No I like the current ambient display. Interactive ambient display ruins the purpose of "ambient display" which is just to show time and notification. People will be more cautious of touching the screen if touchable and lots of mis click when put top side up in pocket
Just wish the hours will always be red instead of just "1"

I used the interactive display with the One Plus 3 and NEVER had any misclicks in my pocket. But I DID use the functionality of interactive ambient display notifications MANY TIMES PER DAY. It's particularly useful for music. You can pause/play music from the google play notification in the ambient display without unlocking the phone. I still don't understand how it is better at all to not have the interactions be interactive?

Even if this is the way it is done in Oreo, the One Plus runs OxygenOS for a reason - to be able to customize/add features.
Please bring it back, at least have an option in the settings to toggle it on/off.

Removing entry from settings menu [Q]

Hi all,
I am using Android 10 GSI as a daily driver and i menaged to fix almost all bugs that were bothering me, except one...
Please check the screenshot, and you will see this ROM has a weird, out of place setting for "phh Treble Settings", and it is not correct size, icon, or anything.
Can i somehow remove it alltogather, or just move it all the way to the bottom? Its mocking me everytime i open settings and it's driving me nuts
I am ofc rooted, open to any suggestions. Thanks!

The other tweaks are when you have problems with apps in full screen mode and other stuff ,but mostly i use the two options for ambient display

Face Unlock not working?

Ok, so I setup fingerprint (wow, it's significantly worse than my LG G8) so I wanted to use an alternate to unlock my phone. I set up face recognition which completed way faster than I thought. Now, for the life of me I can't figure out how to use it as the method to unlock my phone when the screen is off. I feel like I checked off all the right boxes but I still can't get it to work. Can someone please point me in the right direction here?

I'm having another issue I can resolve. All of a sudden I'm unable to download or apply any Wallpapers from any of my various Icon Pack apps. It was working earlier and now it won't download any wallpaper from any of the apps. Any advice?

You can set the lift to wake on.
It is much faster than tapping.
Search for lift to wake in setting.

It seems that my ad blocking app BLOKADA was the culprit. Which is weird because it has never caused an issue before. Thanks for your input though
I use Face Unlock and Rise to wake, I don't have to do anything, but pick my phone up and it unlocks instantly
