how turn-off bricked redmi note 5? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi
I brick my Redmi Note 5 with locking bootloader. Now phone boot into Recovery mode and restart after 2 or 3 minute into recovery mode again.
I can switch to Fastboot mode to, BUT I CANT POWER OFF PHONE ANYWAY.
I use combination of:
(Volume +) & (power)
(Volume -) & (power)
(Volume +) & (Volume -) & (power)
But in all combination phone will restart and don't power off.
How can turn off my phone to use EDL (deep flash) Cable?
Thanks

Open your phone and disconnect the battery (the last chance i think)
What type of Recovery do you have? Usually recovery have an option to shut down the device.

charge the phone and use combination to off it

Try from ADB/Fastboot this command
adb shell su -c 'am start -a com.android.internal.intent.action.REQUEST_SHUTDOWN'
I've never used it, if you can't access Fastboot mode you need to disconnect the battery

One x bootloop / brick

When i turn on phone it shows htc logo and than boot into recovery it doesn't shows me white screen with fastboot option etc , automatically run cwm. I wanted to flash kernel but I can't turn on fastboot mode or I don't know how. Please help my what should I do wake the phone up.
To Enter Fastboot mode
1. Switch off phone completely
2. Press and hold volume down and power
Phone should open in fastboot mode
Use vol up/vol down to make menu selection
Use power button to execute selection
Thanks

I can't turn off phone , only possible when my battery goes down. I solved that problem. I flash kernel with recovery (twrp) then by adb push moved rom on phone memory flashed rom and kernel and it works. Please close thread.

How to shutdown w/o touch input

So my Note 10+ screen broke so that I can only see the top 15% and only touch the bottom 60%. I booted into TWRP to backup everything, and now I'm in a situation where I can't turn the thing off. I am unable to press the shutdown button, only the download mode and recovery mode buttons. I am also unable to press the ADB side load button to send a shutdown command. It will be quite some time before I am able to fix the screen, so I don't want the phone battery to be sitting dead and degrading for a month or more. I already tried draining the battery and then plugging it in to charge, but the phone automatically booted into TWRP.... hardware key combos only reboot, they won't shut down...
Does anybody have an idea how to power off my device? Or to reboot into system or gain ADB access without being able to use the touchscreen? Thanks for the help
TWRP should allow you to use adb commands already.
You can use fastboot continue

I am trying to use adb from another Android device to the broken device using an otg cable, but the ADB otg app does not recognize it. From my memory, when I had tried to use adb in TWRP I always had to go into advanced and press the ADB side load button, but maybe this is different with fastboot? Unfortunately I do not have access to a computer right now, or a mouse for that matter.

What are you trying to do exactly?
A bit convoluted but ...
Volume down + Power - forced reboot, right after vibration with USB cable on switch to Volume Up + Power . maybe boot to recovery !?
Odin - Set get system Info on - force reboot ?

Thanks for the recommendation, but the problem is that I am stuck in recovery mode. I am able to boot into recovery and download modes, but not into the normal system mode. If I could boot into system mode I should be able to use the lower half of the screen to shutdown the device, or use adb.

Yes, I understood that, last opcional on recovery is shutdown?
Just press up and then power?

Unless you can't boot to the default recovery? That's why I suggested Odin.

Question phone has bricked itself without seeing a solution

I do not know in depth about all this stuff, I've just been thrown into it because my phone decided to brick itself in a system update after it got into my hands. I updated it and it went into crash dump, a few times, the just nonstop boot looped with the oneplus logo on, and some pixels bugging, then it stopped showing the oneplus logo all together and just boot loops, I can go into fast boot and nothing else, if I restart bootloader it now goes to a charge menu and rarely actually restarts fast boot, I just tried msm and I've tried booting into twrp but it wont work, i believe this is because the phone wont connect to my pc properly but i have tried universal adb drivers, new sdk, and official QUALCOMM ones to all get the same result of appearing in device manager as just andrioud and nothing else with no options for drivers, on msm it would show up but it wouldn't get past waiting for device. also i cant find a proper twrp rom for the 9 pro on here, atleast the stock one, nor can i find it anywhere else, i can only find the img. also i feel I'm missing something with flashing on the fastboot and am not seeing if I'm supposed to be doing something (of the limited things i can do) on the phone, or its all in commands and stuff on here. sorry this is horribly written, I'm tired and stressed because of this.
Search stock rom and download
unzip rom ,connect your phone in download mode and flash STOCK ROM.

You shod download "EDL" tool (even called MSN)
unzip and exetute ad admin (read specifications and troubleshooting in the related thread)
ensure tour phone is off
press and keep both volume buttons while connecting it to PC
then the COM X connection should become "green + connected"
go with "start" and just wait the processo to end

Download mode is not vol up + power, that's bootloader
EDL (Download mode) is both vol buttons + power
It should show up in the device manager on the computer as a Qualcomm device if it's worked correctly.

EDL mode is NOT both Volume buttons + Power, it's just HOLDING BOTH THE VOLUME BUTTONS and WHILE HOLDING THE VOLUME BUTTONS, CONNECT THE USB CABLE. The phone needs to be in a switched OFF state before doing this.
By holding both volume buttons and the power button, you will force restart your phone into bootloader mode (fastboot mode).
And VOLUME UP + POWER BUTTON is recovery mode.

Question Unable to enter in EDL mode

I brick my phone and it bootloops... So i can't enter into the firmware...
I can't enter into any recovery so I can't sideload...
My only way is using EDL.. but I'm unable to enter... I completely turn it off, pressed both vol buttons and plug the cable
If I keep the buttons, it enters always en fastboot mode; if I not hold the buttons it tries to load the normal firmware and bootloads
How can I enter? Why I am unable to sideload?
Please help

Hold both volume buttons and power bottom to enter fastboot mode, in fast boot mode type fastboot boot twrp.img or what ever the twrp image name is and in twrp boot to EDL. Make sure MSM Download Tool to is up and running and you clicked the start button first. It will flash the firmware to the phone....

With that it restarts but not load TWRP
I've been through some woes this week with MSM Tool and my advice for anyone that gets to that point this week when trying to get to Android 13 with root:
If you open MSM Tool and you don't see any ports or devices listed (ever), then you have a driver problem. If you get the Sahara error you have the wrong MSM Tool or more-likely, you didn't play Simon Says correctly with your buttons.
If you get the sahara error or you cannot ever get your phone into EDL mode, then do the following:
Take a deep breath
Unplug your phone
Grab your phone like a crab claw and mash both volume buttons and the power button so you can easily hold all 3 at the same time
Hold all 3 down for 30 seconds then let go
Wait a few seconds
Hold ONLY the volume buttons down for a few seconds
Did the phone turn on? If not then sweet the phone is off off
Now hold both volume buttons down for 10 seconds and then plug in your usb cable with MSM Tool already open
You should now be in EDL mode and if not you're bad at Simon Says so try again
If your screen is black and you get nothing back from MSM Tool then it's your drivers.
I focused so so much on changing PCs and cables and MSM Tools and fastboot commands when in reality drivers were my issue from the beginning and MSM Tool and EDL mode are both flakey. The above steps worked for me 100% of the time. You just have to actually wait a long time between your steps.

Question No usb , no bootloader mode only recovery mode reboot sur 1+

Hi,
My Oneplus 11 phone that I had converted from Colors OX to Oxygen OS following a restart only reboots on 1+, sometimes it goes to the recovery menu, the use of the power and volume keys to return to fasboot mode no longer have any effect... it hasn't even been recognized by a pc... Except the usb to charge seems to be working. What can I do in the face of so much mishap because I can't find a solution?
Thanks
Same situation here. I've tried everything for a month. No luck. Only thing you can do is send it back to Oppo or Oneplus
msm tools is the only thing can save it but require official authorization to log in. So don't bother trying anymore.

Try holding volume up + volume down during boot, it should go into bootloader mode (start holding them before you power on the device by pressing the power button and continue holding them during boot). If it doesn't go into bootloader mode it's very weird because recovery is loaded after the bootloader.

Thanks but no change only reboot more speed
if i press the three buttons when booting in fact it turns on and off faster then i stop the three buttons, it stays on the 1+ screen for a long time fixed then arrives at the language screen

I corrected but I think it's because I press the volume and power button that it launches in fastbootd but no more bootloader and no ubs recognition
Any idea please ? no chance for me

Very strange, fastbootd is inside the recovery and could be unbootable but normal bootloader mode should work nonetheless. Try having the phone connected to PC why attempting the button combination, maybe they added this security measure.
This device is hard bricked. I faced the same issue. Any key combinations won't take you to fastboot to fix. I gave it to service centre to fix.

My phone is not bricked and i can with key Combo not boot to fastboot .
Power off
And press power, voll down and voll up boot to edl.
Power off
Voll down and Power boot to recovery
Power off
Voll up and power normal boot to system
When you can boot to fastbootd you can flash the full firmware over fastbootd
With fbe (Same firmware what you have used on your phone )
A hard brick is when you phone goes only in edl

He has got a very strange brick, he can boot to recovery but not to bootloader, so it's not an hard brick like when you can only go into EDL mode. Did seriously OnePlus remove the possibility to enter bootloader mode with a key combo??? They make it worse with every phone they release, first edl, now fastboot. What will be next?
