Wi-Fi calling and Volte - HTC U12+ Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi There
Happy to share I been able to make Wi-Fi calling and volte working on my HTC u12+ I'm using EE UK network and finally get all works after few months of struggling..
I read what LIabTooFer said about manual activate Wi-Fi calling and volte on non branded phones
You can find that on his twitter post from August 31
https://twitter.com/LlabTooFeR/status/1035495777966153728
So I did exactly what he wrote over there but I couldn't get that working (maybe because he got HTC u11)
So I did exactly what is below
you need to be rooted and able to use any root explore or just pull files to your PC and use notepad++ or similar
DO BACKUP!!!!
edit default.xml
you can find in /system/customize/acc and if you got htc__xxx.xml which is named with your phone cid in acc folder just delete it
check lines in default.xml and edit

false

false

true

true

true

true

Save and reboot phone
after reboot check call setting should see options voice over lte and wifi calling
Don't know if will work for everyone as many providers use different settings
link for htc 10 US branded default.xml files for sprint tmobile us verizon and us unlocked you could use that as guide to edit your default.xml https://drive.google.com/open?id=1AKriJ7XOyHNvxkdloAPOcE4tsIUZNesY
How to enable Wi-Fi calling and volte on T-MobileUs thanks to @8bitbang
https://forum.xda-developers.com/u12-plus/themes/magisk-module-enable-volte-video-t3871444
I do not take responsibility for any bricked phones
that's only steps I did and it work for me but don't know If will for you
Risk on you
I have used HTC u11+ and HTC u 12+ and got Wi-Fi calling and Volte on both
Regards
Marcin

I'm interested in getting this to work as I had it on my HTC U11 and EE.
As I don't have that phone anymore, do you think you could share your files so I can try and do this on my phone or if anyone else has access to one of hte phones that works on EE could share them.

Will try post them later today

Let me know if you get it working

I can confirm that after editing default.xml
I have Volte and Wifi calling on O2 UK working on my HTC u12+ and HTC U11+
I tested using my wife O2 pay monthly sim
So I guessing it will work with any carrier if all done right

Think I got the 23433 file copied up to the phone and the other files edited, can't see any wifi calling though..so not sure what I missed. Didn't see any options to push with the tool tho but I copied the file to the SDcard then used root browser to paste it in the right place.
Will see if I can spend some more time on it as maybe the reason I didn't push it is why it isn't working.

U need to boot Twrp and mount system and vendor as you can't copy through windows or os x
And use adb file manager while you in twrp link in main post
In tool there advance options and then you got adb file manager and you can go to desire folder and drag files from you PC

OK I see what happened I had an older version and the auto update was blocked by my AV so I know have more options to play with...OK will give it a shot again now see if I can get it going.
Edit
Got it updated and can now browse to system but it is showing as blank thats with it ticked to mount so not sure why it isn't loading that folder...using the latest twrp for the september security patch.
Edit2
Can see the files if i got to /system_root/system/customize is that the right files to change?

Hi, this is already posted here:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307614 and in the upgrading threads regarding storage card problems.
But never mind, did you have problems with your storage card before using the fix with Black 3?
Regarding the fact that it is for the p3300 (Artemis) it is an official fix and works for both that model and the Tytn.

It is a cab file, follow these instructions that were given with the cab file on the site:-
1/ Copy the file to your device using ActiveSync. To do so:
-> Ensure first that ActiveSync is installed on your PC already. If it is not, please install it using the CD that came with your device.
-> Then connect your device to your PC. You can choose to connect the device to your PC as either a guest or a standard partnership, it does not matter for installing a .cab file.
-> Once the device connects to the PC, press Explore in the ActiveSync menu bar and copy the cab file there.
-> Your file explorer window should show the .cab file
2/) Use File Explorer to find the file and click on it to start the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions.
3/ Switch the phone off and back on.
NOTE:- Should you need to carry out a Hard-Reset on your device then this CAB file will be lost
and you will need to reinstall it on your handset.

TNX, I am aware of the problems, I just want to know what did HTC fix to solve them, was it a new driver? was it a simple REG hack?
IT IS NOT FOR TYTN.!!!!
If you switch the last word with htcp3300 or htc p3600 will show the page again. http://www.europe.htc.com/support/fa...device=" htctytn"
It will show it even if you put "lagoskon" .
Someone just put the word htctytn at the end.
You can't find the page if you begin from tytn support.
So don't bother with this fix...We will have to wait..

I have to disagree. I still have this issue with various WM6 releases, albeit at a much reduced rate than with WM5.0. I believe this is hardware related and the software fix(es) may work for some people, but not all.

I agree with that after I have had reports back on it, seems to make the problem worse because it is not a true Hermes fix.

Ask for [have wifi but no 3g networks]..

Hi, as title. I can get almost everything work except 3g network(hspda).
I tried many version of radio rom. and now stay on newest which is 1.71.09.01.
with others, have extra problems.
is there other way to solve this problem?
I really want enable my 3g internet.. Orz
where do you live. what provider do you have
hi,
I still got the same problem.
I already posted in this thread
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=693820
but there was no solution so far
I tried different android images from donut to eclair. currently I run polymod 2.1g.
with both I got no mobile network while WLAN works fine.
I tried different radio-version - at the moment 1.71.09.01
I also tested 2 different SIM-Cards from two different providers.
1. Reseller from T-Mobile Germany
2. Reseller from Vodafone (also Germany)
I have not flashed my mobile - I run Android from SD

Make sure you have 3G enabled under windows mobile. If it's disabled, android will only use 2g networks.
Edit.
Wait i might have jumped the gun. Are you saying that you cannot use mobile internet at all or just 3G?
Maybe your provider/providers data under Access Point names is incorrect?
Hi. I live in Taiwan. and go with Taiwan Cellur.
I have 3G enabled under WM, and I use the method as "NoMoRootFS Instructions for NAND".
I use [Myn’s Warm Donut RL5] with 1.7.1 NBH
You said APN. when I click APN , nothing shows up.

yes, I cannot use mobile internet at all. it does not show the available speed in the titlebar (H/3G/...) and it does not connect to mobile internet. browser just says it has no connection.
with wifi enabled everything is fine.
but maybe I have jumped the gun in claiming that I got the same problem than the thread owner... but I thought he has no mobile internet at all, too?
@hitakeane
with donut/1.6 I also had no APN-Entries in the menu and even the provider-list was empty. but with 2.1 this is working.
but mobile internet is not working for me with none of the constellations.
- not with donut and manual APN
- not with eclair and predefined APN
- not with eclair and manual APN
what I was thinking about this morning is: my phone had a netlock for D1. but I entered the official unlock-code from my provider (the phone is older than two years). But could it be that there is any lock left crashing the party?

Haven't tried until now. But it's running on my Kaiser now. But mobile internet is not working for me.
I really like to know what this is. Can't be that tricky when it is working for most of the people except for me and few others. Hm...
I asked google many times for the correct apn-setting. But I always end up with the same 2 settings that I have tried both.

I think that in a andboot folder you should have boot log file(or something like that) Look for errors in this file and post them here maybe someone will be able to help you. Also I remember reading somewhere a while ago that it's best to have one of newer winmo roms( 6.5, 6.5.1, 6.5.3, 6.5.5) when running android using haret.
I have seen a HTC Desire from a colleague this morning (also Android 2.1). Right above the submenu "Mobile Networks", where I can configure APNs and so on, he has a checkbox to enable/disable mobile network at all. This checkbox is missing for me. Should it be there?

what I don't understand: what has WinMo to do with Android. Ok, it is installed in NAND, but I thought it is not running either?
hi I had a problem simular to this took me days to figure out a temp fix, if your running haret/win mob rather than nand, if you connect to the internet/3g before you start haret, it sometimes picks up 3g ok.

you think it could be that the problem is gone when I flash Android to nand?
so the only thing preventing me from flashing is the not working mobile internet. if that was working I would make android my every day operating system for the next time.
maybe i'll give flashing a try later if this solves the problem.
the only thing I'm not sure about is if I understood it right how to come back to my shipped rom.
I got the update from 6.0 to 6.1 from T-Mobile (mda-vario.exe), I started that one and copied all the files from Windows-Temp-folder to an other place. In this folder there is a RUU_signed.nbh, is this a full rom I can flash to go back to WM 6.1?
To get me right - I'm not asking how to do this - I just want to know if this file should be a full image that I can use as backup or if this is just an update-file.
I think it is always a full image, right?
(can't find german t-mobile rom in wiki - so I hope I can use this)
hi, I set APN and it works.
though it's quite unstable.
any ideas to improve it? thanks all.
another question.
I remembered I saw at somewhere about low disk space.
I installed some software and ran out of disk, yet I have a 16G micro sd.
how should I do with this? thanks.

Well I'm just repeating what I've heard. Since you run android using HAret from WINMO then the version of Winmo might have something to do with your problem.
But yeah go ahead and try NAND it might solve the issue.

The rom files you copied may be just an update, however since it was a 6.0 to 6.1 upgrade I expect it'll be a full stock rom, one way to tell would be to place the NBH file on SD card, rename to KAISimg.nbh, enter bootloader, ( power+camera), and look at what it says it will update, a full update will include OS, RADIO, SPL and possibly SPLASH.
You do not need to continue the update, just pull the battery, or press dpad, it will cancel the flash, don't press the power button tho, because then it will flash it
Another rough guide would be file size, a full 6.1 rom is around 100MB or so.
If you choose to go Nand, remember to unlock your SIM pin before flashing, also make certain you have installed HardSPL, just in case
ok, I was hoping for an answer like 'you stupid noob, there are no update-roms, every rom is a full rom'
That would have made it much easier
But your answer was nearly as helpful, thank you zenity.
- filesize is 99MB (seems to be fine)
- it says it will update RADIO_V2, BOOTLOADER, SPLASH1, OS (should be all)
- in wiki the download-link for NL t-mobile-rom goes to the t-mobile-site. So I interpret the NL-rom to be a full one. So german could be a full one, too
To be sure I dumped my own device so I can try to reconstruct this to a nbh-file if the other rom won't work
- HardSPL is already installed (I flashed some radios before)
- SIM pin is already unlocked, too (didn't work with PIN for Haret so I had to unlock)
That's enough backing for me - otherwise I got a good reason to buy a new device
Thanks to all helping me up to this point.
I'll give NAND a try later this day and post some feedback.
ok, flashed it yesterday and mobile network works like a charm.
only thing is, menu item "Mobile Network" is still missing so I can't disable mobile network. but by using a widget for home screen I can en-/disable mobile network (without changing apn)
flashing was really easy - thanks to all doing such a great job in bringing Android to Kaiser.
Also thanks to all helping me in this thread.

1) do not overclock
2) do not tamper with the phone immediately after boot, leave it alone for a while (30 secs, 1 min)
3) do not fill the desktop with widgets, they eat lots of resources
If none of these works, while still NOT overclocking, delete data.img file inside andboot folder and start from scratch.
Cheers.
Pretty strange, since I have a Sprint TP2 and Wifi works perfectly.
You might want to start by renaming your data.img to something else to back it up, and then starting up. If after you boot Wifi works, then you know something is messed up in your data.img. Otherwise, you know it's something else and you don't need to wipe out your data.img.
Wifi can also easily get bungled if you update your kernel and don't update your modules file.
The kernel (zImage) and modules (modules-xxxx.tar.gz) go hand-in-hand, and they MUST be updated together.
1. Formatted SD Card with HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool
2. Deleted exchange inbox folder in SD Card (I have no idea why the formatting does not wipe it clean)
3. copied ProjectAndroid2.2Froyo.112210.cab to root of SD Card
4. Ran cab from explorer
Ran ProjectAndroid from WM
Ran Update
RHOD400
Cdma x
HW3D X
N AM DIAL X
Getting the following message:
Unable to scan for networks
WPA Wifi is on in WM
I renamed the data.img file... still does not work

That is the one I use on my sprint tp2. Works awesome. I can even wifi tether. Did you download the one at the bottom of the page from Nov. 22?
Edit: sorry. just saw you gave that info. I have never tried that N american dialer. not sure what it does. do you still get the same error when you try to turn on wifi in settings?

I hard booted my TP2 to factory settings, used the .rar files instead of the .cab...
getting the same message "Unable to scan for networks".
Yes, I am getting the same error when I try to turn on wifi in settings.
The instructions in xda is a bit misleading for .rar
The steps say
1. Unzip
2. Copy contents of .Rar to the ROOT of your SD card
When you unzip, the content is in folder "XDAndroid2.2Froyo.112210" sub-folder "XDAndroid2.2Froyo.XXxxXX"
The instruction should say, "Copy contents of "XDAndroid2.2Froyo.XXxxXX" to the root of SD card.
Please correct me if I am wrong. In any case, my wifi still does not work.
Have you tried updating manually? Also, you should get an 'andboot' folder if you go into that XXxxXX folder.
I also found a mistake with Reef's build... I asked him to update it. Basically he's not using a signed FRX03 image... I sent him a new bundle, doesn't look like he's updated it yet tho...
What I'd recommend in the meantime is to update this build manually. Download a new system.ext2, new kernel (zImage/modules - they go together!) and rootfs.
You can find all of those updates at http://xdandroid.com/wiki/Main_Page

Downloaded the latest files individually. Updated the build manually by replacing the system.ext2, zImage/modules and rootfs. Modified the startup.txt to force cdma, keyboard to rhod400 and clock speed to 540672... getting the same error "Unable to scan for networks" error.

tutorial to unlock dangerzone level pack in angry birds space

this is for all root users .
if u dont know anything about root, search it on google.....
now the basic concept is that any app comes to know about "which device u have" from the build.prop file present in system directory of your phone.the trick is to edit your build.prop file so that the app thinks that you have a galaxy note...
STEPS:
1.you need a file manager that supports root functions.you can download (rootexplorer.apk) from attachments .
2.after installing root explorer ,open it .it will request root access . click on allow. then go to system directory .first click on the button showing mount system read/write above and then click on build.prop .root explorer will prompt you with a list of programs to open the the build.prop file.
3.choose text editor .then you will be able to edit the build.prop .just find out wherever your devices model number is written change the number to GT-N7000 .
4.Specially change "ro.product.manufacturer" to Samsung and change "ro.product.model" to GT-N7000.
please hit thanx if you think it was helpful
you can ask for egsteroid levels
dont forget to put hiphens in model number........
Didn't help
Unfortunatelly Danger Zone levels didn't show up in the app main screen. I changed model in two places and manufacturer in one. Didn't find any other instances of these two variables. Any ideas?

you can put back original brand name an model but i am not sure will those levels stay unlocked or not.i think if you will play some of them and then revert back ,they will stay unlocked.
actually, i never wanted to revert back because with this trick google plays lets me download apps that are incompatible.....
I found two entries for the model
it was the second one - near the manufacturer one...

by the way - if you revert and reboot you will lose the levels again (but the progress is saved)
Works on my HTC One S. I played a few levels, then restored my build.prop file, rebooted a few times and still works.

how i can change ,mac address, in oneplus three

hello i have a root and xposed and i installed <3 > <4> apps to change me the mac address but all of them didn't work
and the google also didn't help me < so i come to here >
i hope i will find the solution here

I would assume you can't. A mac address is fixed and cannot be changed, it comes from the NIC when it is manufactured of a computer and whatever the equivalent is for a phone. I guess root apps might be able to emulate a mac address?

it was working good in previous versions in android like 4.4.4
and 5
u just to root the device and install any mac address changer and u dont ,

Sure you can spoof Mac. Hard coded doesn't matter.
There are several ways to spoof. Here is one way: http://www.gohacking.com/spoof-mac-address-on-android-phones/
You can also edit a file with root access but I can't remember the file name. I will see if I can't find it.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Edit:. This thread refers back to XDA from another forum but talks about editing the file. Just scroll down to answer. (I haven't tried it yet, so OP3 may have a different file...you will need to try it out)

/persist/wlan_mac.bin this is file where macc address stored change the First Line that is for wlan0 so change it put mobile in Flight mode and turn off the flight mode. I'm going post a video on this soon....
Hope this is helpful

Check this video, it's basically changing the wlan_mac.bin file. But you have to use an app called nethunter to reset the Mac in order to change it.
This successfully worked on my 3T!
