this rom has been maintained for a while if i'm not mistaken..its just that the rom lack of some feature from ms...one that particular to me is quick snap option in camera.

Yes this rom's been out for a while, but considered always like a minor rom.
Indeed it's very simple, quite basic. The founder of MS just joined the development so we could expect some more customisation coming soon
But what I personally like is battery and smoothness, over bells and whistles, especially if development for Mi5 is coming to an end (at least in its china version - global will keep going)

Where can we see information about news and development for this Rom?

In ROS the MI5 will continue being developed trough China Base, (probably using the last China DEV) new ROS features will be implemented at China Base.

Best ROM for battery and performance in my personal experience (vs the latest MIUI MS, MIUI ROS, MIUI Pro, Xiaomi.eu): MiRoom 8.11.15

Hi..
is this MiRoom still considered the best regarding battery performance or is Revolution OS better ?
What is the best way to flash if i have unlocked bootloader and is on MIUI by xiaomi.eu 10.2.1.0 Stable. ( factory reset and install those below or "just" use TWRP with the usual wipes ( wipe cache, dalvik, data) )
do i grab MI5_MIUI_8.11.22 and firmware 8.12.20 ?... or what would you recommend..
Thanks

This ROM is not developed anymore!
My personal suggestion: Revolution OS.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/development/rom-revolution-os-8-9-30-t3850353
Latest china with 8.9.20 firmware is solid stable, great battery and performance. So much better than Xiaomi.eu and all roms based on it...
Also the brand new RevOS 9.3 is looking good so far...with 8.10.18 firmware
all you need is linked in the first post.

Thanks a lot
i'll try it

Android 9 & Custom ROMs

Hi,
I don't want to get into a debate about which custom ROM is the best. (The one you pick is likely the best for you right?) What I do want to get a handle on is people's experience with custom ROMs and Android Pie.
Is there a custom ROM that has done a better job at integrating the features of Pie after moving on from Oreo, and that currently is at an acceptable useful level?
There are a few out there currently, and they seem to have been working for a bit, but is it worth it to flash a daily driver to a Pie based ROM at this stage, or wait for awhile?
Thanks for your help,
Clay

Pie roms are mostly very stable now, pixel experience and havoc, both of which I tried worked perfectly for me, no problem. You should just try it

Yah There are so many roms out there but i will suggest you to go With Pixel Experience
i have switched many roms from last 2 months But whenever i switch I have never get the smoothness that i get from PE
Latest version of PE (https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/development/rom-pixel-experience-t3830197) has almost no more bugs and it uses Android 9: PixelExperience_whyred-9.0-20181119-0216-OFFICIAL.zip
It's updated to recent security patches and works great.
Definitely usable for daily uses!
I'm using AOSP Extended Pie. So far, so good. It hasn't blown up my daily driver yet, so <fingers crossed>.

I'm using LineageOS 15.1 as daily driver. Yesterday I tried AOSPExtended Rom 6.0 and Havoc-OS. In my opinion AOSPExtended runs great but I didn't find an privacy manager like LineageOS. As second I tested Havoc-OS. Havoc-OS has implemented privacy manager. But In the Pixel Launcher in Havoc-OS I didn't find a option to deactivate the Google search bar.
But both ROMs looks very great.
OT: For my personal use, I don't want GoogleServices and PixelLauncher. F-Droid and Yalp store is enough for me. For my tests with Havoc-OS, of course, I replaced the Pixel Launcher with another Launcher from F-Droid.
Revolution OS Pie is very smooth and stable and has an awesome battery life
MCaosp best custom ROM Android Pie so far I have tested. Well-balanced. 120k on antutu and lots of drums.

Thanks for you opinion!
I am on CrDroid since 6.5 and now on 6.6, and using this ROM daily over the last ~1 month and I do not have too much to complain =)
For now I only tested the Miui 11 Port, my question is: the camera works well on these roms based on pure android 10? With angular lens and all ? Thanks

Yeah, crDroid is a pretty solid rom. My only turn off of it is that it doesn't have the screen recorder that the evoX and atomOS have. Other than that, crDroid is?

Some rom on the list has a ANX camera pre installed, which is basically the stock camera of this phone, and all lenses are working perfectly.

It depends on the camera app that you are using. I'm not a fan of the stock camera app so I'm using Gcam which in my opinion is the best option.

Atom doesn't have Gcam pre installed. You have to download that if you want. There's a lot of great Gcam ports to choose from.

You need to have a stock Android 10 vendor on both slots(A&B) of your phone. You can do this by installing the stock Android 10 ROM for Mi A3. Just search on how to do it so you can have a full instructions and information.

In terms of general quality, I would say that any version of GCam is better than the stock camera; BUT, if you need the resources of the Pro Mode, so the stock camera is better specially for long exposure photograph.
Here on my CrDroid 6.6 I installed via TWRP the orignial camera via this link. But, I do have here GCam version that permits-me to shoot in RAW mode =)
Do you have notice any difference on the audio quality between ROMs? If yes which is the best? I am using PE and sound quality is worse than stock

If you're talking about Bluetooth speaker/headphone audio quality, I can't tell you that for now because I have no Bluetooth devices rn. But for the speaker, I would say it's pretty much the same. I'm on EvoX rn (and about to try another custom ROM) and I didn't have any problem about the audio quality.

The best rom for note 8?

Can it be the best rom for this phone? Now I have Pixel Experience, but it has too many bugs.
Try corvus 8.0. seems good to me.
i've tried panadroid, bliss, aosp extended, xiaomi eu weekly, colt, ressurection remix, corvus, havoc, crdroid, superior os
the best for me is unoffical bliss by bezke for better battery usage, ressurection remix for performance, aosp extended for ram management
I tried download Bliss, but was imposible. Always the link failed. I will try to download it again.
I will read something about corvus too.
Tried all so far. None were 100% to my liking. Always something wrong:
- no bokeh mode in portrait camera
- bad battery life
- no smooth scrolling (e.g. Chrome)
- bad wifi
- etc
The only ROM I can recommend (I'm using it) is MiuiMix. Based on MIUI(EU) with a few tweaks.
MiuiMiX_2.0_ginkgo_20.3.26_v11-9 Download: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261756420

SuperiorOS comes in 2nd place because ram usage is slightly higher (1.4gb)
Xtended-XQ 3rd place , same as superior but has a call log bug

Of course not. This is custom ROM based on MiuiEU.
The wifi issues are the worse for me. Pixel it has, and miui.eu (10/12) it has. Not before in miui.eu stable(9/11) but is not a smooth rom.

i'm using 7.3 for 1 months and never face anything wired
(i even installed xposed and all module are working fine, every other rom is not 100% compatible with gravitybox and other xposed modules ...)
the only feature that is missing is gesture anywhere and it would be a perfect rom
miui11 and 12 are straight piece of crap
ram usage is 2gb (out of 6gb) after many optimisation and debloating (not to mention that there are some app that can't be freezed/removed)
(my device is 6/128 and i don't use gapps)

[ROM] [10] [UNOFFICIAL] Nusantara for Galaxy S7 (Final)

Nusantara Project is a smartphone customization project based on Android AOSP. The project is inspired by the Indonesian region Nusantara, which means "outer islands".
Disclaimer
I am NOT the developer or maintainer of this rom. Install this at your own risk.
Mods please move this thread or delete if this is not the right place for it.
Please do not ask for updates, this is reportedly the final version of the rom.
Credits: SaturnixGundam and gundam00diver for uploading it to SourceForge.
Installation
In TWRP, wipe system, data, cache. Format data optional.
Reboot into TWRP.
Flash Nusantara-EOL-herolte-22012021-UNOFFICIAL-1657.zip.
For root, flash latest version of Magisk.
Optional: Flash OpenGApps 10 or Nanodroid MicroG.
Reboot to system and enjoy!
MicroG and signature spoofing
This rom supports signature spoofing - MicroG services can be enabled.
To enable signature spoofing and for MicroG to work:
Navigate to Settings > Nusantara Wings > System > Miscellaneous
Under Advanced Switch, toggle Allow Signature Spoofing
Camera
Option #1: Install ZGCAM 7.4 V1.03387.apk. It's fairly stable and HDR works well. Some noise issues with Night Sight/HDR+ enhanced.
Option #2: My preference is Mod8.3b_IDan_v3.2.9_Exy.apk. No NightSight but the denoise and HDR+ enhanced work great, just tweak the settings.
Performance
Tested on my G930F (Exynos). Very stable so far with MicroG. Smooth performance overall and pretty stable.
Known issues
None so far that I've come across. Will update this as they get reported.
Download: Nusantara-EOL-herolte-22012021-UNOFFICIAL-1657.zip
Security patch: January 5 2021

Question Better miui

Hello everyone! What is in your opinion best miui based rom? Cazanova, xiaomi.eu, miui mix?
xiaomi.eu. Best for daily usage. I also think it has best stability from all customs. Thats why ppl use it as daily rom.
One OS is the best

All MIUI based custom roms are essentially xiaomi.eu. There used to be two MIUI based custom roms built from scratch on china stock miui, other being MIROOM, which is no longer in development. So, now everything is just EU.
All other roms repacks EU with varied degree of debloating and minor scripting tweaks (most of which are outdated and doesn't work). Bit better performance that users feels is related to more free ram due to debloating.
So, best bet is use EU rom, debloat it as per your preference and use it with DSB to make it perfect! (this setup along with 'Magisk Hide' is sufficient for most users)
Cherry on top would be, use Adguard or similar app to remove ads.
My setup.....
Advanced users can leverage Root with LiteSetRW.zip and NikGapp's Debloater script to remove even more stock apps.
If you don't need root after debloating, you can copy DSB created magisk module files to their respective system location and unroot.
Other "custom/repacked" roms exists because advance setup requires bit of manual efforts and understanding of which apps to (NOT)debloat, else it can end up in bootloop (easily recoverable by flashing EU again). But once you figure out personalized one time setup, it would be better than every other custom rom and can be replicated in EU updates in 10mins!
