YES! Kernel Source Code is Available! - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

So not only will this help get TWRP on the device, but it will get us closer to getting LOS and some working custom ROMS (GSI or not)!
Very stoked about this news

Very happy

Really nice for having them already after 1 month, since official sell started!
I've already a running version of these sources on my phone with wireguard. There are some quirks to take because we don't have natively a ramdisk in this manner anymore. Also I'm struggling with audio problems but everything else is working as I can see.
As next step I have a look at the mainline source to get them also in the tree.

I'm working on building LOS for later use with Sailfish OS... I'm currently running into build errors.

So this means the code that Xiaomi has published is bad. . .or that it will just be difficult to get custom ROMs on the phone due to the slider (or something)?

No, their code is fine because MIUI works on the mix3. It could be my device tree.

Interesting ROM. May I know how's the battery consumption?
You can use the official 6.0.1 AOKP trees that I've built some weeks ago.

Anyway, I'm maintaining the official builds for AOKP, but not problems at all mate. Keep your development up and PM in case you need any kind of help.

I'm only trying to push it to nightlies stage, until then, it's good to have an unofficial project for testing. I'd recommend using the sources from AOKP to be more "clean" and then patch whatever needed and send to Gerrit to contribute. Wonder why CM doesn't ship Doze anymore.

You need to remove "system/priv-app/com.qualcomm.location" for now to boot.
Remove that directory using TWRP->Filemanager.
It will boot up.

Yeah you have to modify the build.prop and remove the first lines. But you can save up your time, cause it's not booting after flashing.

This rom isn't released to the public yet and is still in beta. In order to get the beta you have to be approved/invited by the creator. Some devs don't like to publicly released betas and want a small controlled testing group. Be patient they will release it when it's ready.
As we can tell by the dearth of ROMs listed for the 20x, some/any is good news.
RR is particularly good given support and features.
It may be useful to share some requirements, device official build required, TWRP version....., etc.

Glad to see folks are working on roms for this device. Was wondering what additional features this rom would have? What "good" features of stock would we loose? Would the pen and notepad still work? Anyways, should be interesting...
It'll come very soon, be patient - testing has already been finished. I just have to find some time to rebuild the rom with the latest fixes and security patches
some informations:
rom will be installed via fastboot, requires a factory reset in stock recovery after installation.
It passes safetynet out of the box and also includes the stock huawei camera aswell as all gapps not available through the playstore.
Regards

How's the camera performance? Pictures come out nice and crisp making use of the 3 cameras?
I hope the proprietary blobs are used as one of the key things that makes this phone great is it's camera.
