I did like the Dome on my 2XL, but it would crack every month from seemingly nothing... No drops or impacts and i would pull it out my pocket to find the corner has slightly chipped or there was a small crack along the front.
My zagg glass + has been installed perfectly, no halo effect and so far no chipping or cracks + warranty replacement price is lower than the dome.
Thanks for sharing, if you order please show some pictures.

I used a Whitestone Dome on my Pixel 2XL but curious about alternatives also. The Zagg one looks like a superb alternative so I might end up going that route instead. I know it's unrelated to this specific topic but thanks for the heads up 'cuz I'd never heard of that brand until you mentioned it. :good:

Hey guys, it's up on Amazon today and available. Shipping is a little slower, shows arriving Thursday when ordered today (Monday) with prime.

Does anyone know what kind of loca glue is used? I want to do it diy without buying the whole kit. Seems expensive and I have two phones.

Even if you just buy a replacement glass it still comes with the locating kit and all the nessecary items. All it is missing is the LED UV light to cure the glue.

true, but for 1 screen protector, too expensive (for me) with or without 2 lights. If they had two protectors i'd be cool with it.
The logic is
34 bucks:
20 For screen
14 for glue
Where =
10 for glue
10 or 15 for 3 pack of screens

Not just screen and glue. It comes with an alignment tray/kit. Also, they make the highest quality glass I've come across. Water beads up and drips right off. If you want cheaper, but similar then look into sgfreshidea invisshield. You can guy just the glass in however many quantities you want as well as the glue.

after 2 months of paying for various screen protectors the wait for this is irrelevant IMO
wassup wala long time no talk

Another thing to keep in mind is the cheap screen protectors don't have edge to edge coverage like the Whitestone.

haha, good to see you here brother.
I hear you. Trying to find a solution and get good at it at an affordable price. I try 6,7 phones a year. Heck, i may end up 3D'ing my own design, print them and sell them cheaper!

I should have mine today at some point.

I understand this logic, but the quality doesn't compare. I bought the Zagg and it halo's bad. I've had them warranty it 5 times because they say it shouldn't do that, and all of them have done it. If that doesn't bother you, go with an inexpensive screen protector. For those of us that this bothers, this protector is the solution. Installation is a little more difficult than others, but it's not had at all. I've now invested almost $100 in screen protectors for this phone, but I don't think I'll need to buy another.

USPS tracking says mine's "Out for Delivery" too, but do you think they will actually be delivered today with the USPS in stand-down today in honor of 41? I'd love to find it waiting for me when I get home from work, but realistically, I'm expecting delivery tomorrow.

In that case, you should see yours today. <fingers crossed>
Amazon sent mine via USPS from Cranbury, NJ. Considering more and more packages have been coming from their own Amazon Delivery contractors in UHaul vans, I was a bit surprised to see this coming via USPS, but at the same time, my local USPS office has been very reliable and good over the past few years, so I've had no concerns with them delivering.

I bet the quality is superior to other screens, just for me having to do RMA's because of the bad speaker, and generally swapping out phones a lot, if I went with this brand. I'll be paying $500/year for this. For me I'd like to cut that budget but I may not be the average consumer.

So, I use Whitestone on my 2XL, but did anyone else have issues on the top and bottom? I applied two over the course of 3 months (1st one got cracked..my fault) but the top and bottom had like where I guess there wasn't enough glue so it got all strange looking? Like swirly patter that wasn't glued down. Still usable, just ugly.

Are these generally case-friendly? Any issues with them becoming unseated when putting in/removing from a case?

Xtreme Guard screen protector

Just happen to search for Xtreme Guard screen protectors and found a 90% off discount code for the OnePlus One screen protectors. They have two options to choose from, the regular screen protector $6.99 each or HD $6.99, I used discount code Mega90off2 and only works if you buy 2 or more. Not sure how long it's valid for but I purchased 6 HD ones and paid only $4.19 free shipping. I've used Xtreme Guard in the past on other devices and it's pretty much a perfect fit. Happy shopping and hit the like button if this helped you!!!!!!!
thanks, I just ordered 3 of each kind for the $4.19. I've used xtreme on my gn2 and n5... they are ok..great for the money.

You're welcome anytime. Ya I used them for my Note 2, Note 3, Nexus 5. Hit the thanks button if this helped you =)
I purchased one for $1.05 earlier this month. IMHO, THEY SUCK! The cutout area for the speaker and camera does NOT stick. Lucky for me, I ordered a set of Illuminshield and they're great! It does a pretty good job on being resistant to finger prints. It still leaves some behind but overall I'm happy with this choice. I'm so glad I only paid $1.05 during July 4th special, other wise I'd ask for my money back from Extreme Guard.
Too bad about the shipping price in Europe. It does cost around $6 to get two screen protectors in Eastern Europe. I'd love one of those but I think I'll have to stick to the chinese screen protectors...at least for now. If someone can ship one or two of those screen protectors for a lower price, I'd love to have a private conversation.
Xtreme Guards has the worst screen protectors of any company. THE WORST....there's a reason they're always 90% off. Google it.
Ive gotten much much much better protectors from ebay for cheap.
Bought 6 pack for 2.99 shipped. Better fitting than xtreme guards (I think they die cut the protectors with a die that hasn't been sharpened in 20 years)

I have no need "Google it" as you said, like I said never had a problem with Xtreme and I will continue to use them.
Been using XtremeGuard screen protectors on all my devices. They work absolutely fantastic. Never any issues with installation. If I had any issues with packaging during transport... They rushed out new ones.
In for 2. Thanks!
I purchased these ones for my new OnePlus One dont know if their any good but will post if they are.

so these are pretty much useless. I know it was only a buck forty, but holy hell this is terrible. lol

i dont think the scratches will be on the actual guard, peal off the 1 and 2 layers and see.
yeah i've been told this over at the 1+ forums as well. But still doesn't help the shoddy cut. already held it up to my phone and there's a nice huge indent up at the top left corner. Looks like it'll be fine for now, but i'm also just debating on just waiting for any of my other ones to show up.
Just request a refund. I only got these since I'm waiting for my glass ones to arrive from the homeland.
Okay, got mine and it fits alright but it's badly but near the top so there will always be bubbles. They must use the dullest cutters in the world.
Yea i havent had much luck with any of their products outside of the iPhone Spartan Glass. What really sucked was i ordered 2 Spartan glass for my LG G3 and one for a Nexus 5 and both came in cracked. I had to email them. They refunded me which was cool, but kind of sucks. I guess its just best to go to a BestBuy and purchase the $49 zagg glass protectors.

I've had a few of these screen protectors in the past and they aren't good. After a few weeks they look awful and feel like crap. Pay a few dollars more and get a tempered glass screen protector.

Rhino Shield screen protector

I almost tried every possible maker out there for a glass screen protector for my s8+.. Alllllll are as bad as it can ever be.. From the 50$ glass to the 6$ once..
Given all the above.. And given my experience from the pixel xl.. Rhino was the only company that made a perfect glass screen protector, FULL ADHESIVE.. yes full adhesive, BUTTT no idea if they were able to perfect this one, no mention in the website if it's full adhesive or not, but i took my chances that at least it should work better thab any out there even if not full adhesive.. I pre ordered it, and i think they started shipping..
Crossing my fingers that they will step up and make one that really works.. I live out of the US, so mine will take few more days to arrive, but if any pre ordered and is expecting to receive it soon.. Please share your experience with us here. (while we "i am" waiting)..

I ordered one back on 4/10. That was the first day that I saw the Rhinoshield products for the S8+ online. I ordered the Crashguard bumper as well as the tempered glass screen protector. When I ordered on the 10th the site said the orders would ship from 4/10 - 4/20 for the bumper and 4/15 - 4/25 for the screen protector. The 21st came and my bumper wasn't even shipped, so I sent them a message on Friday asking how I was supposed to protect my phone now LOL....I was being a bit of a jackass but still if they couldn't ship it by the 20th don't tell me you can. The girl sent me back an email offering me free 2 day international shipping and told me that I would for sure be in the first batch if I switched my color to black for the bumper (I had originally gotten the gray to go with my arctic silver phone) so I did. Now she originally told me that the screen protectors would be ready before the bumpers so I assume this package contains both items.....my order says fulfilled and there is nothing to lead me to believe it is partially fulfilled.
Just this morning I got a shipping notice and it has been picked up by Fedex in Taiwan. It is supposed to be at my door on Wednesday according to Fedex.....I'll let you guys know how it is.
Never has luck with glass protectors so i al with wet instsll skinomi ones.
I did order a rhinoshield crash graud.
Kinda sucks that they delay the release.

I just got mine at my house and hour ago. I installed the TGSP first. It isn't what everyone here is hoping for I don't think. Regardless of what the spokesperson told the guy in chat the adhesive does not cover the entire back of the protector, it is just like the other curved ones that have it on the sides/edges. With that said, it does appear to be the good silicone adhesive. I've been rubbing the edges of mine damn near constantly since I put it on and see no lifting yet. I also don't notice any tapping when I touch the screen. It does have those little dots to help with glare or whatever, but this isn't the first glass I've had with those.
Now with all that said......this is my first curved screen phone and thus my first curved screen TGSP. I've read all the posts here about how it sucks for curved screen phones. In this short time honestly I can't tell you that I notice a different between this one and the Zagg glass that I had on my Nexus 6P or the Spigen glass that my wife has on her iPhone 6s. Now granted that might change, but I think as of right now it is decent and will protect my screen from scratches. Now the fact that it doesn't have adhesive across the device leads me to believe that the impact protection of this TGSP versus a flat one that is adhered across the whole screen is not as good.....but I don't drop my phone much.
I also got the crashguard bumper from them and it is OK. It feels a little loosey goosey even for a bumper but I think I can live with it. The only real issue that I see with it is the button over the bixby button won't actually touch/actuate the bixby button itself. The power and volume rocker work fine even if they are tighter than ****'s hat band. The cutouts for the mics, speaker, USC-C port, and headphone jack are spot on accurate.

Unfortunately it appears that either that person did lie to you or they were ignorant to the way the thing was really designed.
Now that you mention it I looked again and I do see a tiny spot of rainbow effect. It is small so I wouldn't really care, but the problem is it is directly in the circle for my left eye when the iris scan pops up....kind of annoying.
I don't have another camera handy to take a pic at the moment....when I get home from work I'll try to see what kind of pics I can get of the edges with my wife's ip6s. So stand by for a few hours on those

Thank you for your detailed update..
Honestly i wasn't expecting them to reach the level of full adhesive, for one simple scientific reason, curved screens are not identical, there is always a difference in the curving margin that is acceptable from manufacturing quickly prespictive (i remember reading an article about that), and the adhesive should be really thick (relatively) to avoid that margin which will reflect into bluring the screen and lowering the clarity to a very noticeable level..
Given all that, my hopes were just for them to make something that is more decent than what's in the market, and from ur description, i can say "MAYBE".. I will have to wait and see when i get mine, coz i literally tried everything there, except for the siphhire semi-film/glass by zagg, and the genuine Samsung thick plastic protector - waiting for those to arrive, They both are a middle way solution, nor a film neither a glass, just a thick plastic protector..

Help XDA community. Pthink Tempered glass screen protector

So I did the search for screen protectors. Pthink has hands down been the best screen protector for the v20. I had a 2 pack and just dropped the phone and cracked the scecond on. I went to amazon to order my replacements. Found out the item is no longer stocked. I contacted pthink directly. They have discontinued the product. I have been searching other retailers. No luck. The screen protector thread everyone is recommeneding p think still. Please if you know another retailer that sells them let me know. If there is another brand out there as good please let me know.
Wow. I was just searching this also!
Mine got a chip in it and my wife's has a crack. I have one left and was searching for more with the same result.
I did see these https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/183759922468
...but I don't trust that they are genuine . 4th pic shows "pthink" in the top left corner.
No idea what other brand I would buy at this point.
I've never ordered from AliExpress, but these show promise as being full coverage and full adhesion:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/-/32813226666.html
That ebay price seems really cheap. I am so iffy on ebay anymore. I have order some parts from aliexpress in the past. I didnt even think to check there for the screen protectors. I am going to give it a shot. They look like the pthink one's did.
Unfortunately, I have yet to find a comparable replacement for these PThink screen protectors.
As far as I can tell from Amazon reviews, all other "full coverage" tempered glass screen protectors for the V20 only seem to have the adhesive along the border, so you'll likely get the halo/rainbow effect in the center of the screen. All the ones you see on eBay are probably the same, so I wouldn't trust a listing unless it actually mentions PThink in the description or shows a picture of the original white and green package of the PThink. Note that all of those protectors have a black border while the PThink is transparent throughout.
If you have to get another screen protector soon, then you might have to settle for one that doesn't cover the whole front (they usually stop right above the LG logo).
The AliExpress one looks promising; that might be the only similar one out there.

The pthink protector actually does have a black border, but is definitely full adhesion as we all know. I only had issues during installation, have to make sure to really work out all the air bubbles near the black border. I have ZERO dust where the LG logo is.
I've had mine on since December 2017, no ill touch issues or rainbow effects ever.
I'll probably go in for 3 of the AliExpress protectors. They are sold in single quantities (not a 2 pack as the Pthinks were sold).

Ah yes, I forgot that there is a smaller black bar at the top and around the LG logo (2 of my V20s have PThinks on them) while the front camera area is mainly clear, unlike all the other protectors. I only had permanent bubbles at the very tip of some of the corners and a larger bubble around the front camera, probably because I squeezed the protector into an Otterbox Defender case (with its crappy plastic screen protector removed).
Looks like the AliExpress protector is currently on sale, and you get $3 off as a first-time buyer, so that'd be a decent price.
I just placed the order for the aliexpress one. I'll post a review when it comes. Down side is shipping could be up to 25 days. If they are as good as the pthink version it is worth the wait
Just ordered 3 of them also.
Total was 23.42 using PayPal and the coupon. Not sure how that total amounted.
7.19 x3
+1.05 shipping
-3.00 coupon
+.80 PayPal fee
Should have equaled 20.42
Oh well.
Edit: PayPal amount was 20.42, which is correct.
AliExpress refund
I ordered the AliExpress screen protector and recieved a refund form Paypal today. So apparently the protectors sold out.
I ordered 3 from Amazon (PC-Mall brand). I will try to report back, but the protectors on my phones are still good, so it may be a while.
Just received the shipped notification. So now I wait for the slow boat...
I find it strange they are sold out. 2 days ago it showed 986 were available.

? Lmao. That's hilarious. Pthink are epic. I had trouble finding myself. Ordered some supposed ones a few months ago. They weren't sadly.
I had my payment returned also on aliexpress still says they are in stock. Not sure what the deal is.

Yeah, that is pretty strange. You can see all the recent orders in the transaction history around the bottom half of the page, and people are still ordering it as of today.
I'm in the same situation as OP. Seems that all of the full coverage v20 screen protectors on Amazon only have adhesive along the edges of the screen. There are a couple that have it across the screen, but it's only partial coverage. I was thinking of going with the Supershieldz and adding some LOCA adhesive to the rest of the screen as a substitute.
Since I'm the only one who is having any success with AliExpress, I'll post my experience once they get here.
So I went with the random screen protector + LOCA adhesive combo. It gets the same clarity as a full adhesive screen protector, great touch response, and overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
The cons:
I wasn't sure how much LOCA to use, so I ended up using a little too much.
I have a few small bubbles (not really noticable with the screen on unless I'm on a white background). When I replace this protector, I'll be sure to take my time.
The screen protector I used did not have the front camera cut out, so it glares a bit. (Stay away from the Mr. Shield brand). The Galaxy S8 forums have a ton of tutorials on using LOCA. There was also a video on YouTube of a guy doing it. I used the "double y" technique.
I received the AliExpress order on Monday the 13th (just about 2 weeks to the east coast US). I haven't had a chance to install yet. They do look just like the Pthink protectors.
I'll try to get one installed on my wife's V20 soon and post my thoughts.
Ok all. I had a friend order from aliexpress who already had an established account. He saud sometimes the coupons cause issues. With that aside I was able to order two of the before mention screen protectors from aliexpress. They are in fact similar if not identical to the Pthink ones.
Full screen adhesive. No halo

Anyone tried Quntechi Tempered Glass?

I'm looking for something cheaper than the white dome that'll work with the fingerprint sensor. On Amazon I stumbled upon this: https://www.amazon.com/Friendly-Qun...red+glass+uv&qid=1556643737&s=gateway&sr=8-54
It seems to be a new product since there are no reviews. Anyone have experience with it?
UPDATE: I decided to purchase it because it had free prime one day shipping and I needed protection. A buddy of mine always buys whitedome and couldn't tell the difference. it was obviously a little more complicated than your regular tempered glass install but it took about 10 minutes of my time to get it almost perfect. Even after I had accidentally spilled some of that glue to the side. Fingerprint sensor still works, no issues there. Fit perfectly with my Spigen clear case. Saved $20 from whitestone, I'm happy.

This is only $15 cheaper than WhiteStone Dome, is saving $15 really worth the possible effects/problems of putting something with zero reviews on your $1,000 device?

It is a tempered glass screen protector... I cannot justify spending $50 on a piece of glass... The price is still somewhat high but it looks like it provides an almost identical experience for less. I didn't ask because I was worried about side effects. I was just curious if the fingerprint sensor would function properly, I probably should have clarified that.

WhiteStone also comes with a extra tube of glue in case you mess up the first installation and a lifetime warranty on their products. Seems worth the $15 over this generic brand IMO.
Why not trying InvisShield? for what I've read it is not as good as whitestone (smoothness) but its a fraction of the cost. I've ordered it and will get it next thursday, could get 2 screen protectors and 3 tubes of glue for less than the whitestone.

Not Bull, but there is a $10 shipping fee for a replacement glass. Similar to other company warranties like OtterBox they charge you $7 shipping for warranty replacement.

And imo whitestone isn't worth the price. I've tried to use them on my past s9 and s9 phones as well as my note series phones. All of them eventually started prying up at the corners and sides from cases. Imo if you cant use a case with it, it isn't worth it. And to be clear I was using spiegen cases.
For this reason I stopped using screen protectors on all curved glass phones.

Sorry to tell you but your issues with WhiteStone are user error and self inflicted. I have also used WhiteStone on the Note8, S9+ and Note9 and never had your prying up issues. But then again I also research and make sure the case I choose fits with the WhiteStone dome glass so they are a perfect match, so if the case you choose rubs the glass and eventually raises the glass that would be your fault and not the WhiteStone. There are "WhiteStone Case Capability" threads here on XDA and other forums online, check them out prior to making your purchase.

I'm not going to get in a pissing contest with you on this, if it works for you then great. I for one buy a case that fits my needs and one that I like, I don't settle for something to conform because its compatible to a product.
It's not user error the loca is spread eventually throughout the entire screen protector and it is cured. This happens after 3 or 4 months after the screen protector is applied not right away. This is my experience with the product. Your mileage may vary and like I said great.

Whitestone dome isn't anything special from the generics. The $50 glass screen protector days are coming to an end for them.
Of course they're still suckers who think cuz you pay more you get more which isn't true

This. When checking on Amazon, a bunch of alternatives don't come with a tray which is probably why they're looked down upon, this does so I see no benefit of having the white dome.
I just bought this and should arrive tomorrow. I'll update with the findings later. Im not about to pay $50 for a screen protector from whitestone, that's ridiculous. Especially since the reviews are so mixed where it's concerned. And im not worried about a warranty, if it goes bad I'd honestly rather just take the loss instead of dealing with customer service ssns STILL not getting a replacement.
I bought a $12 Loca UV TGSP direct from Korea & it works well with the FPS. It just requires more pressure to unlock, kind of like before the FPS update.
I'm glad I waited & didn't shell out $50 for the Whitedome.

Zag Screen Protectors

Just a heads up for those wanting glass screen protectors, Zag is selling them now (unlike Google Store at time of writing) and not sure why but got a big discount. 2 of the Glass Elite VisionGuard+for*Google Pixel 5 for $75 after tax and shipping. They gave me a 30% off discount.
Probably get them cheaper later, but last time we got phones on release date (Pixel 2) we didn't get screen protectors until a week after the phones showed up. So this time we got cases and screen protectors right away.

Bro liquid glass is the way to go. I have been through a ton of glass screen protectors on the 2 XL and they all suck, even the expensive ones. I got liquid glass and never looked back. P5 might be different because the screen is flat, but I'm getting liquid glass anyway. You can always do liquid and throw a glass screen on top of it.

I had mine applied at Fixit Mobile, and I believe they use WowFixit. From what I have read, the products all use Silicon Dioxide as the main ingredient. I don't know that much about the product, except that it works well, it's not noticeable, and does resist fingerprints somewhat. It's not perfect for fingerprints, but I haven't got any scratches in about a year. I have heard that you should reapply after a year, so I probably need to reapply. I will do some research and make a post at some point. I plan to do liquid glass on my P5, so I should post something in the next 2-3 weeks. This is something I looked at recently.

Sounds a lot like the "ceramic coating" that is promoted for use on car paint all the time now. I'd be willing to bet it's the same thing.

The cheap "9H ceramic coating" or spray on SiO2 coatings anyway, not the year-long lasting professional ones.
I just installed the Zagg Invisible Shield Glass Elite + on my Pixel 5 and sadly, it's peeling at the upper right corner. A bit disappointed.

If I'm being honest I've been less than satisfied with their product on my Pixel 2XL. I went through 3 or 4 via their warranty process and just gave up and went naked with a bumper case. Much happier, with minimal scratching after owning since release (preordered).
I'll always use a case because I abuse things but I am finding more and more that screen protectors aren't a necessity, even for someone who throws phones in backpacks etc when out on a trail.
Ordered one and it didn't sit down all the way. It wouldn't stay down on the lower right corner, despite no dust or anything. Ended up disappointed and moved on.
So this is definitely a "your mileage may vary" sort of deal. I purchased two of the zagg protectors, along with a pack of Spigen and Otomon tgsps. So I was prepared.
Anyhow, I did the shower trick installation to keep dust from floating around. First Zagg I used would not apply around the camera lens no matter what. Tried the second Zagg that I ordered and although there were bubbles initially, they went away after 20 mins or so. Perfect installation.
Long story short, you shouldn't have to buy two of a certain tgsp like I did in the event that one is defective, but doing so worked out in my case. Your first application may work correctly or it may not.
Edit:. Also the fitment is perfect. There is no rainbowing on the sides due to being cut short. Could the tgsp have been a little wider? Maybe, but would risk it lifting on one of the sides.
