Tutorial: Get Slow Motion video(stock rom) - Honor 9 Lite Themes, Apps, and Mods

Many of you are asking for a slow Motion update but most of us know that's not gonna happen any time soon. So I have a way by which you can get Slow Motion to work.
But beware that this will void your warranty.
And as you guessed you need an unlocked bootloader. If you don't have your code you can use the slock exploit.
So after unlocking flash magisk and then flash the P20 camera module. The stock camera will be replaced with the P20 camera in which you can find slow Motion which will work.
*You need to be on stock rom as this needs stock gallery
*The video quality will be low and you'll need proper lighting because of hardware limitations.
=> And whatever you do with your phone is your responsibility and if you point your finger at me for having your phone bricked I'll laugh at you?

Google camera port with Hdr+ (abandoned)

This is kinda work in progress port of Gcam with hdr+ for arm devices. it's based on google camera version 4.2.035.141213305-arm.
it needs camera api 2 enabled. you can enable it via flashing the zip I've attached or add below line into build.prop.
Code:
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
Stock rom is preferred, but it should work on all roms as long as above requirement is met.
Google camera apk
Please let me know if auto/touch focus works or not. happy testing :good:

Requires TWRP for flashing zip. or root for manually editing build.prop
rooted?

Since it requires flashing this file, I think root is required. Not sure if can be done without.

I tried on Stock. Same issue
Hello
First of all thank you the thing is working great on aicp (13).
There seems to be no problem with touch to focus our HDR+. In fact I even tried it on copy is (android 8.0.0) and it kinda cured it of the camera bug.
Thanks again.
Post more.
Thanks again...
Working in LOS 15! Seems that it doesn't fall victim to the problem of freezing when trying to take more than one consecutive photo which is very nice! It has a few quirks such as only going up to about 9MP max resolution (due to being ported from a 9MP device?), a few of the features such as slow motion and panorama etc. are not working, and trying to use HDR+ with the front-facing camera crashes the app, but it seems that the point of this was just to get HDR+ working so I'd say it's working nicely! The image quality is great despite the loss of resolution, especially in low light and autofocus / touch to focus seems to be working fine! Thanks!
I was testing with Ressurection Remix 7.1.1 and the camera doesn't work.
Tried without editing the build.prop and crashed, flashed the .zip and not only the google camera didn't work, it also broke the other cameras (LO Camera and Moto Camera). Putting the value back to 0 restored functionality in both cameras but Google Camera is still not working.
Hope my feedback helps
Enabling api2 completely crashes my camera and makes my flashlight unusable, know why?
Could you please port the ar stickers for Moto g5.... tried too much.

HDR+ won't work without enabling camera 2api.
Root is required to manually enable camera 2api so you can probably just flash the zip by the dev and be done with it without rooting your device.
Nice port. Everything working fine on STOCK OPTIMIZED rom, except:
- HDR+ in Frontal Camera crashes the app
- Slow Motion crashes the app
- Sometimes the video recorder don't saves the video, don'ts show any message or error.
And for some uses that can't start app because it's crashing on start:
Reinstall system
Don't flash HAL3 zip
Start the rom, boot, insert your Google Credentials
after setting up the rom, restart your phone and flash the zip
after flashing the zip, install gcam apk as normal apk
that's all

And yes, touch to focus and auto-focus is working too. In video recorder the touch to focus works too.

4k recording on Resurrection Remix OS (official)? & what about firmware?

Hey community, what's up?
I'm curious if there is any option to enable 4k video recording? I activated camera2api and I'm using the google camera (the latest port a very kind developer has made). Everything works perfectly, except 4k video recording. The method described in this post only works for MIUI, in RR we neither have the folder, nor the corresponding file.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3774141
Long story short guys: if I switch from FHD to 4k, the camera stops working. Does it has to do anything with the firmware I'm currently using? I've tried several camera mods, but none of them worked. Can I enable it somewhere in my system files (like I did with camera2api?)?
Additional question: do I need to update/flash firmware updates in general? Does it provide any benefit? Someone provides the latest firmware but I have the strange feeling that flashing one of them can damage my device (however they are classified in china & global version --> no flashing of "wrong" firmware but it's still somehow scetchy...).
I know you are busy and it's pretty much to ask, so thank you very much for your answers! Best regards
Marvin M.

[How to] Install fully functional Google Camera! (No port needed) (Exynos + CustomOS)

This is a simple tutorial for those on there who really want a fully functional Google Camera without needing to install a ported version or buggy version just to get away from the glitchy green flickering while recording video or who want a slight increase in quality and usability. It's simple, to begin all you will need are the following to get started.
1. Official TWRP Recovery installed and functional.
2. A LineageOS based ROM to install (E.g. LineageOS, Resurrection Remix, etc).
3. A specific GApps package is required for this step. Navigate to here: https://opengapps.org and make sure you have selected "ARM64" for "Platform". Now select your Android version and make sure you select Stock GApps package and above (Very Important!) (Optional: Aroma Package can also be used but was avoided in this tutorial.) The reason I asked you to install the stock package and above is because the stock default camera (AOSP Camera) is replaced with the Google Camera upon GApps install.
(Recommendation: If you prefer a pixel like device like I do with all stock AOSP based apps replaced with Google apps then install the "Super" GApps from opengapps.org).
4. Backup any important data before proceeding.
5. Wipe the appropriate partitions in TWRP.
6. Flash your ROM of choice + GApps.
7. Done!
I know that most advanced users already knew this was possible I just thought I would create this for the non-technical savvy folk. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy your new Google Camera!
I think this gcam have no hdr+ mode

For people like me that don't like the stock AOSP apps like the camera, and prefer Google apps? I thought that much was obvious.

Sorry, didn't want to say anything wrong, but losing ability to shoot in 4k 60fps and all other video modes, ability to use second camera for 9+ users.. All of this for NOT- fully working Google camera? Sorry, but this doesn't sound practical. Plus, that old version can be easily installed on any device.
The main problem is the misleading thread title. All users would expect fully working Google camera with the most important feature - HDR+.

agreed. I actually am not a fan of Google camera UI and only use it for HDR+ (it's the best) and have been waiting for a functional port as well.

How to Download Google Camera for Redmi Note 5 (Global) without root?

I would like to install google camera to have nice photo quality like pixel.
Came across this article which says we can do it without need to root.

Yes, you can get Gcam to work on your device by using these steps, If you don't wanna root your device.
Though rooting your device will make the process 5x easier, it's up to you. ?
Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
Have a nice day
You have to unlock BL to do:
- Install twrp recovery
- Flash CameraAPI2 enabler zip file
- Install GCam
But if not root, you can't take front HDR+ Enhanced and Portrait.
If you root you can solve front cam problem.
I don't know why you don't want root. If something relate to finance apps, magisk hide will pass easily!

Yes you can, take a look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/themes/gcam-root-flashing-twrp-t3813230
Yeah you can do it but you need to unlock your bootloader at least if not root ...if you unlock your bootloader then you can temporarily boot twrp and by using you can enable camera 2 api and thus, install gcam
You can use ADB on MIUI to enable Camera2 API, which works without root.

Question Are camera Apps limiting custom ROMs?

Hello everybody!
I have downloaded and installed Lineage OS on my Poco F3.
It's a great device but there are some software problems that really bugs me (proximity sensor is a mess, some GUI element are not good for usability, the "everything you need, nothing you don't" thing and then the phone is full of useless apps that i don't need...)
Lineage OS solved all of my problems except for one: the camera.
I'm realizing that there is no real alternative for the native camera app because it offers you the full potential of the hardware with all the features.
Don't get me wrong: i tried Open Camera, GCam Port and other popular apps.
Really good projects but there is always something missing or not working.
In addition on Lineage some camera apps are just not available on the Play Store (for example Footej Camera... using another store, dumping the APK from another device... all useless... the app will recognize my device as not compatible).
Why is that?
Lastly i even tried to install the stock APK on Lineage without success.
What is your opinion on that?
What are the software limitations involved?
Is this a limiting factor for you?
What camera app do you use?
Best regards.
I'm not someone who uses camera that much but I can tell you that I totally agree with people who think that native camera is the best. I use Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and there is no alternative to camera which comes originally. That's one of the reasons why I tend to use ROMs with camera very close to stock one or even the same like stock one.
Lineage is known to cripple cameras.
you sound pretty knowledgeable, so i'm probably not offering much here... but, ANXCamera (miui camera port) is being worked on for our device, as far as i can tell... the following is copied from T.Gram... may show promise later on, but for now it's not fully functional
How get ANX working (partially)—
1. Download the MiUI Core from here (MOD EDIT: Link Removed)
2. Download the latest ANX (full version modded for R) from here (https://camera.aeonax.com/)
3. Flash the MiUI Core and ANX Zip through Magisk
4. Reboot
5. Paste the device-feature XMLs (MOD EDIT: Link Removed) in–
/storage/.ANXCamera/features/
6. Download ANXCamera Pro (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aeonax.camerapro) from the Play Store and use it to enable all the desired features in ANX.
What doesn't work for now:
UW, Macro and 48MP
