Whilst I'm still waiting for before the unlock time is over so I can unlock the device, I'm willing to participate with the project! This should not be taking any longer then 232hours ...
But I'm only limited in spare time so I won't be reporting much information. But when i got some you will know!
I'm now on MIUI 10.0.3.0 and I think this OS is by far the worst Android OS I ever encountered on a smartphone.
For example:
- Simple notifications do not work - whenever someone sends me a Whatsapp, the message just disappears
- Apps in the background are closed for some reason - I always have apps open in the background, but they are closed after a call
- Android Auto - Black bars on the bottom and top of the screen which disables any use of it
- And then there are the numerous adds en MI apps.
So far for my complaints about the device. It's a good and decent device but without the proper OS on it, it will lack the complete use of it all.
Therefor I'm willing to help the devs and in the further future other users.

How to with a locked bootloader?
But I always used Lineage(CyanogenMod), and alwyasliked to open structure of it, which I mostly dislike about Miui

yep, using xiaomi eu rom which is a better version of global/china and it's pie. no issues..

Did delete cache after flashing, but it didn't go well. Re-flashed and deleted cache.

I just installed LineageOS16 + TheGApps on my unlocked MI8.
Everything is OK but there is a serious issue with 2 SIMS inside: impossible to have the SIM1 card blessed?
After removing the SIM2, it's OK to have SIM1 blessed...
On MIUI10 both SIMS 1 &2 were blessed...?
Any idea how to have this issue fixed?

1) charging rate while phone in use (nothing major, normal apps and reading, no games/background apps like FB etc) is quite low for me. when screen is off its normal.
2) the screen doesn't switch off during calls, a proximity sensor issue?

ROM is awesome and is working great ,but I have a few doubts ,one is advanced reboot is not present in the developer options and when I'm searching for power menu buttons ,the buttons are displayed but when I click on them it's crashing and also the security update is not latest may I know the reason why?

Has anyone tested if international data roaming works? It's been missing from earlier Zenfone Max builds of both Lineage Oreo and Lineage Nougat, but I keep hoping one of the devs might eventually think it's a bug worth squashing!

I tried several ROMs built on Lineage Nougat, and none of them had international data roaming working. Ditto the AIMROM version of Lineage Oreo.
It is even more annoying in some ways that none of the devs seem to acknowledge this or list it as a bug.

As of now nougat has no bugs
Oreo still takes some time to be like nougat without bugs

Well so far it works fine for me no bugs whatsoever only thing is when changing the cool down touch for the hardware buttons (how much time its lit up) i tried to set to 1 sec after touch but it stays at 5 seconds.
also camera quality could be better but its fine too.

Did you had call echo issues?
I thought that HWC was already fixed/implemented in LineageOS 15.1 (see changelog here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76640048&postcount=2).

calls works fine, found no echo
Tried the rom for a day, sorry I don't have any log files but here are some weird encounters I had.
The proximity sensor would dim the display in-call but the screen would still be functional so it'd be pressed everywhere and cause a mess. Also the picture quality was horrible like if it divided the resolution by 4 and stretched it to fill. This was most noticeable in the gallery and Instagram. Also Instagram videos had the same effect but even worse. I'm now back on stock and can confirm the picture quality was indeed reduced. I tried using the bundled camera app and the s7 gcam port which works on the s6 but both produced mediocre pictures on the rom. This seems to be a common problem with custom roms I assume so if there's a fix to bad camera quality on custom roms, someone please hit me up because I'm stuck on stock for the camera quality only.
Also calls would randomly drop but could just be the network.

On stock ROM, i was using AnyMote Universal Remote to control devices via IR. That same app does not work on this ROM.

Seems like a SELinux policy problem, which is strange, because the ROM is not SELinux enforcing. Any hint how to fix this? a TWRP script perhaps?
EDIT: made it working by switching the app to use "alternate commands"

Idk how to fix it. I have SM-G920I. I have the latest Brazilian modem version. I will try get the newest for my model to try fix it.

Has anyone play pubg mobile on this rom? I played on rr6 and fps in game was non stabile
Wifi always ON?
BetterBatteryStats shows WIFI being 100% on, even during sleep. This seems to be the single biggest reason of battery drain.
And this in spite that I have set the WIFI policy to "1" using adb:

For comparison, same phone with stock Nougat lost approx 2% a day (flight mode, no BT, no NFC, wifi off during sleep, practically no use). Pie loses 1.5% an hour or more without any use with same settings.
Edit:
Situation is a tad better after turning off WIFI completely, but we're still talking about ~1% / hour. This is still nowhere near Nougat's consumption levels.

The 20200115 gapps beta build was the problem. The next beta gapps should have it fixed.
so far very stable, everything works fine,the ui is almost perfectly smooth,but sometimes an app takes a milliseconds to get that opening animation running,lineage 16 is perfect in that ,when you tap an app it instantly responded,it needs a little work,but msn is it the best 10 rom out there,smoothest , lineage is the best

I have an update about the problem I and another user reported in the TG group, where pictures and music were not appearing in the stock apps in Lineage 17 - After a couple of days of using this ROM my pictures and music have randomly started to appear in the stock apps. For some reason it took a few days for them to show up!

media scanner was not running,just download 7zipper and run media scanner
I don't see adaptive battery in the settings
Brilliant Rom. Very fast and very good battery. I like him.
Anybody tried any sound mods on this rom...i got bootloop from vuper4android.

Is there a way to remove unwanted system apps. When i remove app using link2sd app i got a bootloop.
Can GSI's be flashed on this ROM...??

But, I've flashed many GSI's successfully... So z2 plus is a GSI flashable.
And to flash any GSI we need a proper treble rom(with a good vendor which actually supports flashing any GSI..)..AFAIK
I'm not sure whether it's a bug or not. I tried the new internal audio recording feature of Android 10 with com.kimcy929.screenrecorder, it's not working, nothing but silence was recorded.
Edit: It's working with the browser (with slight lags though). However, it didn't work while playing sound with the built-in file manager.

Nobody cares about safetynet. If you want it to work properly, use stock ROM on a locked bootloader.

All my other custom roms are just working fine with SafteNet passing. So it would be great to see this in LineageOS working.

Would be great if someone could verify that VoLTE, Wifi display, some NFC features work, as I don't have these available.

@T1mb3 I tested the VoLTE on T-Mobile USA, a test call in and call out worked, still get the chipmunck on inbound calls (I've lived with that glitch so long that it's not an issue for me). WiFi Display worked fine to my TV. I don't have any way to test NFC.
One thing that did happen error wise, this is with clean install, I went into Dev Options and enabled "Show background ANRs" like I normally do. Once enabled I kept getting "SecureElemantApplication isn't responding" every minute or two.

I can test nfc capability in the weekend. I have some NFC tags here so I can test writing and Reading of it.
@T1mb3 I just tested the NFC chip. The chip is working just fine. I tried writing, read and format a couple of tags and did not got any error or instability.

this build reboots to recovery when I reboot after flashing
EDIT: my mistake, I formatted data and flashed a ROM that doesn't force encrypt. Formatted again, flashed LOS and everything is fine now.
