Dual volte on Lenovo z2 plus - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

As with new software updates Mi A1 (sd625) and Redmi 5(sd450) are getting dual volte feature, so why can't we?
Even with qualcom snapdragon website our sd820 supports dual 4g at the same time, so why can't we even get one sim for volte(calling) and other sim for 4G(data only).
As in HTC phones if we change data sim, it doesn't change network preferences, like we can use data on 2g sim, and other sim remains on 3g network. Can't we use this kind of thing? Where1 sim will be on 4g volte network, and on other sim we use data on 4g/3g network.

Yes we have Lte on both sims but not ate same time, one time only one sim remains on 4g network and other goes on 3g/2g. But as per Qualcomm snapdragon our sd820 supports dual sim 4g at the same time. Volte on both sim is a different thing, but still want answers for that also.

yeah ! bro same problem here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any dev wants to invest some time in it ??
Any possibility of getting dual 4g ?

Maybe sd820 supports dual lte but i think that it maybe more of device specific.... I think our device hardware doesn't support it even if chipset is compatible

Its a modem feature and our device's modem doesn't support it so I don't see that coming.

[Q] Data from both sim cards?

I am in search of a dual sim phone, and I consider the zenfone 2 a good candidate.
However, it is vital to me that the phone can support a data connection from both sim cards.
Obviously not at the same time, but to switch data connection from one sim card to the other, without having to physically change the sim cards around.
Is this possible on the zenfone 2?

This is possible but sim2 only supports 2g speeds.

Thanks, that's quite a disappointment.
I thought today most other dual sim phones do support 3/4G on both sims?

You will not get data on sim 2 due to Asus blocking it with their firmware. Even though they used an outdated and subpar modem for sim 2, it is still capable of data. Their Zenfone Selfie does contain a dual active dual sim with lte on both sims this their "flagship" phone however used inferior hardware.
Unfortunately this may not be the phone for you in particular if you live in an area such as the U.S. or in Europe where they are shutting down 2G, it's already happening. This "flagship" dual sim phone will soon become a single sim for many of us.
I've actually talked to Asus about this and was told this is their "Flagship" phone and it is "Premium LIKE". I asked what he meant by "Premium Like" and he said it was comparable to other high end phones with compromises made on using lessor hardware. LOL, it's a knock off then, no different than buying "Prada" bags out of someones car trunk. I've had to deal with Asus on a couple of issues with their phone and have to say, I would NEVER buy anything again from them.

How to Get VoLTE in HTC 820 Dual sim ?

Hello There ,
I want to Active VoLTE in my HTC 820 Dual Sim Taiwan . I bought this from online and using it in india now i want to use 4G Jio its need VoLTE for high speed internet . so someone help me how to get VoLTE on my HTC 820 ? if i update to Android 6 or install any custom rom will get VoLTE ?
There are no options for that currently....
Hi, Mine is 820 from china bought online.
Does mine support VoLTE?
AFAIK, NONE of the 820 variants are able to get VoLTE. As if the hardware does support this feature, I don't think HTC has the time to put their engineers on this old toy again rather then their holy HTC 10.

First of all i would like to say that the full form of "VoLTE" is "Voice over LTE".
HTC Desire 820 dual sim has 4GLTE and Reliance jio sim will use this 4GLTE of the phone to provide high speed data and voice and video call over LTE network.
I am going to purchase the jio sim today and report back after its activation (may be 2 or 3 days later) whether HTC Desire 820 dual sim indian version can support the VoLTE.

HTC Desire 820 dual sim supports JIO Sim as it is having LTE and for using VOLTE you can install "Jio Join" app from Play Store that will help in making Voice Over LTE calls.

Just like normal set up. You can use Google and search for "how to set up his sim" for more info.

Htc 820g plus jio support
I've been trying to get this Jio compatibility with HTC 820g plus for quite some time now and in vain. Almost tried and have consumed every trial methods I found in google. In MTK settings, I'm unable to use the 4g options. It jus stays put at WCDMA/GSM in the preferred network option and I can't change it. And there's no network when I insert the Jio sim. Airtel 4g works though. So I know the phone's compatible but dunno what I'm doin wrong. The sim is already registered and works perfectly fine on other handsets though.

4G LTE and VoLTE are different. Any 4G handsets will work with Reliance Jio SIM for data application. But reliance jio uses HD voice for voice calling. So handset need to support for Voice over LTE feature. Idea and Vodafone 4G is different, they are using the conventional system.. In case your 4G handset does not support VoLTE, then you can install Jio join app for voice calling. Some users find it difficult in this method and complaining call drops. Also data need to enabled for voice calling. Reliance Jio uses 850, 1800 and 2300 frequencies for the services

Does the A5 (2017) Dual SIM (A520F-DS) support 3G on the 2nd SIM?

I can't find a solid answer on this. I'm looking for a dual SIM phone that doesn't limit the 2nd SIM to 2G, like most older dual SIM phones. I found one source online that says it does support 3G on SIM2 after a software upgrade.
In particular I'm curious if it's supported on LineageOS ROM. My question in the relevant thread for that has gone unanswered. For now I'd be happy to know that it works even with stock.
You can run either the first or the second SIM on 3G, but you can't run both at once on 3G. As soon as you set one SIM to 3G, the other drops back to 2G. This defeats the purpose of Dual Sim in countries like Australia that have stopped using 2G. There's only one 3G radio in the phone.
This information is for the A7 2017, but presumably it's the same for the A5 2017.
A520F-DS, the dual 3G/2G works. At least dual standby. Stock TW. Also works with 4G on 1 SIM.

Some apps might not update the signal strength(Android 1 telephony API, single SIM, 2G doesn't really support the newer(cellids only, no signal strength unless it's matched with the neighbouring cell info), 3G dual, and most of 4G is OK). To fix this, insert 2 sims, set 1 as default for everything, remove that SIM, the signal strength will update for the other SIM.
Band Selection(3G/2G only unless the other SIM is set to that) and Band Disable(4G/3G) works and only applies on the selected SIM. Requires root or specific CSCs.
Cell Locking applies only on SIM 1 and could affect SIM 2.
I've owned three different dual SIM phones (current one is the A3) and none of them could do more than 2G for the "other" SIM. Totally agree with @ryebuck that it defeats the purpose of dual SIM devices in some countries, the more so when more countries will drop 2G in the future. Either manufacturers start making REAL dual phones, or the dual concept will die of its own death.

Dual SIM Question

The Dual SIM functionality in my 7X seems worse than my 5X. With my old Honor, you could leave the SIMs in their slots and just change which one was 3G/4G and the other 2G in the phone settings
However, the 7X seems to have fixed one of the slots to be 2G permanently. You cannot change it in the settings. So I have to physically open up the tray and swap the SIMs, which can be a pain.
Can anyone confirm whether one of the SIM slots is physically 2G only? Or can this be fixed with a software tweak or update?
iirc one of the sims slots is set to 2g only and the other one is 3g/4g

Question Does the OnePlus 11 (U.S version carrier unlocked) support Dual Active Sims?

I'd like to buy a OnePLus 11 from amazon but does it support dual active sims? I'd like to be able to load balance my data between the 2 sims from different carriers. Is this possible?
Or combine the data throughput from 2 sims from the same provider. Is this possible?

Yes it does. You can use two physical sims or one physical and one esim. I use two physical sims. Verizon and T-Mobile.
As for how dual sims work in Android... You select which sim you want to use data one. You don't use data from both sims at the same time. Though, you can easily pick which one you want the data for.
Both will be able to send and receive calls and texts. Though you pick your primary/default sim for what calls and texts default to.
Thank you!, Now if I can just figure out rooting so I can get call recording going.
That's not dual active. That is dual standby. You won't find any phone with dual active sim in US.
Did you need to buy a dual Sim tray?
Thanks
Oneplus has 3 sim slots: dual nano sim tray and one esim.
Tried to dual esim and sim together but some reason on sim can do nothing but text can't use it for calls since I want esim for data
Well if u use esim and sim, sim can't be Verizon
