USB Type-C to HDMI - watch phone screen via HDMI projector - Huawei P20 Lite Guides, News, & Discussion

I purchased a USB Type-c to HDMI cable recently. My plan was to plug the HDMI end into my projector and view the phone screen that way.
I have tried with two smart TVs as well as the projector with no result.
I look on the sources of all HDMI and nothing changes.
The phone does not provide an automatic option e.g. no message to enable the HDMI connected device.
I have went through all of the TV and projector settings with no result.
All TVs and projector work fine for a laptop that also has HDMI to HDMI.
Any ideas of is this a step to far for the lite?
I see that the better phones have 'desktop' or 'project' mode.

Unfortunately p20 lite does not support type c to hdmi out. You can cast via any caat device.

MHL adapter to home theatre system

Hi,
I just bought the Monoprice micro usb to HDMI MHL adapter for my SGS2.
When I directly connect to my TV, it is working, but my tv sound sucks so I want to take advantage of my home theatre system instead.
I have a Sony BDV-N990W with an ARC (audio reverse channel) hdmi + 2 regular hdmi inputs. I plugged the hdmi to the mhl adapter that is connected to the Sony hdmi input. All is doing is hdmi connected/hdmi disconnected literally every seconds.
I reboot my phone, changed to 2 other hdmi cables I have, changed hdmi ports; still the same result...
Did anyone else have a similar issue? If so, any solutions or suggestions?

Suggestion for using Note 10.1 (2014) to display a presentation

I have a co worker here who is attempting to hook his note 10.1 up to a projector to display his on screen presentation. I thought hey, this is pretty simple right? He even had several conversion plugs....Anyway, first we tried hooking it up via VGA from the projector > into a VGA/USB adapter >from a USB adapter into the micro USB slot on the device. The projector didn't even pick up the signal for the tablet. Next we tried a straight USB from the projector to the micros USB on the tablet (and switched it micro USB from the projector into USB adapter >USB adapter to tablet). It recognizes something is plugged in, but then the project shuts off shortly after with no signal. Tried turning on USB debugging settings in developer options, but this didn't seem to help either. I assume this is probably just a projector issue, but does anyone have other suggestions or a projector to try? Obviously easiest would be a screen cast, but most of the conference rooms still use a projector screen. I am open to anything. Thanks!

If the projector has HDMI inputs you could use a Samsung WI-FI All-Share Cast Hub, Wireless HDMI Display Adapter or a Galaxy HDMI Adapter

Is it possible to connect 5x to hdmi mini laser beam projector?

Hello? I'm thinking of buying Sony's mini laser beam projector MP-CL1.
This device have widi and miracast for wireless and a hdmi port for wire connection.
As far as I know, 5x doesn't support miracast and I'm not sure about widi.
So I'm thinking of connecting 5x to the projector by hdmi port.
I do own a hdmi cable and am going buy usb c to hdmi adapter.
In theory, 5x usb c to hdmi adapter to cable to projector would be the way connect.
I just want to know has anyone tried connecting 5x to any hdmi devices like tv or projector?
Under Settings - Display - enabled "Wireless" in Cast - N5X connected to Chromecast's HDMI connection to the HDTV, playing MP4 video now. (EX rom)
I usually travel with the Chromecast and not bother with taking along an HDMI cable and more adapters/converters - and, USB powered - nano router with hotspot functionality for wireless network.
In addition to support for Chromecast, which is a given among Nexus/Android devices including N5 and N5X, N7, etc. - I can also confirm that N5X solidly support Miracast. I have an Android TV Box (has its own HDMI connection) with support for FireReceiver and Miracast -casting wirelessly now directly to HDTV, whatever is on the N5X screen and of course, pictures & videos ... presentations / slides should NOT be a problem. Depending on where OP is buying the Sony projector, I would take the N5X along to test it on the spot before buying/taking it home, unless familiar with it.

USB-C to HDMI Cable?

Any recommendations on a good USB-C to HDMI Cable? With Desktop Mode finally being an option in Q, I'm hoping to test it out when Q is officially released and we see some apps support it. Preferably with availability in the States.
Amazon basic have better option for this USB-C to HDMI, I'm using that work perfectly

Hi,
Does it work as HDMI + USB or only HDMI?
Is anyone able to screen mirror Netflix,YouTube TV, Hulu or Amazon prime with the cable? I have a cable and it mirrors everything except those apps when I'm playing video.

I don't want to maybe start a new thread so I thought here - does anyone charge their oneplus 7 pro type c from their laptop/pc to type c on their phone? my ultrabook doesn't quite have enough ports for usbs. so I wanna take away my phone on a usb and use a type c port instead to charge it.
I see some type c cables are 3.1 or something. for charging do I need the expensive cables?

thanks haha!
I have an Aukey USB hub which seems to work great. HDMI and USB. It can charge my phone but that seems to be too slow to be useful.

You guys won't be able to mirror those apps unless you've rooted your phone and found a way to patch the application to make it think there is no secondary display connected. The reason you're getting nothing from these apps is they detect the presence of a secondary display, and since the phone cannot comply with HDCP over the adapter cable (not supported), it will not display correctly (black screen where the picture should be or no display at all). I've had a phone in the past with a miniHDMI port and I've used a proper mini-to-full HDMI cable without issue to watch Netflix, but that was a straight HDMI connection with HDCP. Netflix and them take anti-piracy seriously, yo!

Recommend an adapter with a power plug in so your phone doesn't run out of juice while watching TV.

Question Poco F3 support HDMI Alternate Mode (HDMI Alt Mode)

Would it be possible to use USB-C to HDMI adapter. And connect to the TV,? Does this
Phone support HDMI Alternate Mode (HDMI Alt Mode).
No HDMI available on the USB port (which is not USB3, BTW).
Thank you so I presume Chromecast is the Alternative.
I beliave that you can use the same cable I use on my poco F1, this one uses miracast screen transmission and works like a charm on lineage os 16 (android 9), but I thinks it works on any android os ios phone. Note that is only 30 fps, but with no lag, since it uses cable conection. Much better than chromecast thats uses wifi:

Miracast is not USB. Nor the F3 has any hardware to bridge video data over its USB2 port.
Show us your setup, please.

What makes you suggest the usb port is USB2?
This
And the fact that USB communication with my Linux box is USB2.
