I hv opened so many times my 2s 5/6 PDA2k and have also replaced 4-5 screens.
I do not follow any std procedure...may be this is right as so far I hv not faced any problems.
1) Remove the battery and then remove the small as well as 2 big corner screws and side screws.One can use any std tool kit to open these screws.In all the whole of the device there are only two types, small and large(Dunno abt the pitch etc)
2) Slowly remove the black cover.Specially take care of the volume slider as it very delicate and tends to break.Then remove the internal entina.
3) Slide out the key board and then open the upper two screws of the front slider.
4)Important step..Very slowly remove a) Vibrator and keep it aside, b) the connector which connects to the dispay, and then totally take apart the PCBs, so that u can see the display and the other two small screws.
5) Now take a screw driver and slowly remove the front pane by creating gaps in the preiphery of the front panel and the upper slider part.Pls take care that speaker also comes out with that...take care of the connections.
6) Now there are 4 small screws, two below the and two above...remove tham slowly and you have the display out...just replace and do the reverse of the above....you hv successfully changed the diaplay...

I have the problem that somehow s.th. is scatching on the keyboard when I slide it out. Did someone have the same problem?
Is it nessesary for the service to open it sometimes and "grease" the guide?

Quite possible the two lower screws fixing the black backside of screen slider got loose and need to be torn in again.
For this you have to remove backcover and mainboard. If you then open slider you'll reach those screws by two square holes.

I have a dot view case for HTC 9+. When I close the case - the screen goes blank - the magnet / sensor seem to work. But the dot view never comes up - I see the black screen only. I tried with a small magnet - same results, tried a few cases - nothing triggers the dot-view. What am I missing?

Does double-tapping the front of the case not do anything? It's meant to turn the screen off when you close it, and only wake when something happens or when you double-tap.
My E9+ with Dot View-Case shows no Reaction.It doesn't turn off the Screen when i close it and doubletap on closed case shows nothing!
I don't know if it's a Hard or Software Problem.My E9+ is a China-Variant(Root,S-Off,Super-CID)with the Europe Firmware 1.45.With the Backup
from BinDroid's Firmware 1.90. I have the same Problem??

Nope - tapping / double-tapping does not do anything.... without the case - tapping works

I hate to ask the obvious, but do you have NFC enabled on the phone?

Yes - I tried with NFC also. BTW - I think my case has only the magnetic cover (didn't see any NFC on the back). Is NFC needed to trigger the dot view -or- the magnet itself triggers it?

Try with a tiny magnet - place it on the left bottom (aligned with the htc logo - but on your left side). If that triggers the screen off - your phone probably is OK.

I honestly don't know for sure what's going on with it, but mine never works without NFC enabled. I've not got it with me to try right now, but I'll have a play and confirm this later. I also never tried with just a magnet but I'll try that later too.

Thank's for the Tip but my E9+ made nothing with the Magnet on it.I tried it on every inch of the Phone,nothing!My M8 works perfectly with this Test.
Final update - could not make the case to work. Took it to HTC service center - they did a reset, tried on another e9+ and concluded that the case is faulty. They did not have a spare dot view case to demonstrate how it works on my phone - so, it's 50% confirmed in my opinion. Asked for refund from Amazon.
But, I was able to get the dot view to show up with a stronger magnet. So, I wonder of these cheap cases have a weaker magnet and hence the display only goes off but the dot view does not how up? Not sure.
Hi everyone, I need some help. I've just got this phone and a bought also a flipcase with a small transparent window on the front. The flipcase is an original one by Nilkin, it's working just fine the phone detects when it's open or closed and the screen shut downs accordingly. However, I can't pick up a call through the small transparent window when I have a call. There are no green and red earpieces to appear in the small window when there is an income call. Nothing. I tried to search in the setting, but didn't manage to find a solution.
How can I turn the smart view function of this phone on?
