GPS readings on Watch - Samsung Galaxy Watch

Hi folks. Just got my Watch to use with my Note 9 and exploring it.
One thing I can't do is see on the Watch what its GPS position is.
Is there a way to readout the lat/long?

On the watch natively no, but you can download the quick GPS position app from the store and it will show you. It's free.

And for navigation Here WeGo (can use downloaded map). Free too.

Quick GPS position and Here WeGo are very cool watch app's! ?

[Q] Sony Smartwatch 2 Accelerometer

Hi guys sorry if this is a silly question but I am wondering if the accelerometer on the Sony Smartwatch 2 is activated on the default firmware. I know the Pebble's wasn't until the recent update. According to reading there definitely seems to be one: https://developer.sony.com/develop/wearables/smartwatch-2-apis/guides/hardware-specifications/ but I haven't found an application that actually uses it.
Is it possible to to use it to track your steps via the accelerometer without having to have the phone in your pocket (but obviously having to be within Bluetooth range)?
Unless perhaps my accelerometer on my specific SW2 is broken.
Thanks in advance!
If you download the examples from Sony for developing for SW2, there is an axample app for the sensor.
Anyway the sensibility of the sensor only makes it suitable for detecting movement and turn on screen accordingly and no much more I guess
It's active. I know of 3 apps off the top of my head that use it. Yes, it can be used as a step counter. I know of one app that uses it for that, but it only works when the app is open.

Thanks for the reply. Could you tell me which app it is that counts steps?
According to the attached picture extracted from the Sony site there is definitely an accelerometer capable of being a pedometer. The app I have (walkmate) only counts my step with my phone in my pocket - i.e. it is only using the watch as a display and not a counter.

Compass Not Working

Does anyone know of a setting or anything that would keep the compass from working? I've tried doing a hard reset twice now and it still won't work. I may try returning it and getting another watch if I can't get it to work.
There is no compass.

I swear I used to be able to use a watch face with a compass and it would work just fine. Also would work with compass apps on the phone.

Can confirm, there is really no compass. No use in getting the watch replaced.
Which watchface were you using?
Dark suite and classic watch faces have compass. You guys are silly hehehehe

Mi Mix2, GPS accuracy

I heard about problems with GPS accuracy in Xiaomi Mi5, so I'm curious if anyone could write something about test of GPS in Mi Mix2?
I use phone to navigate, but also to observe stars (stellarium, sky map, star tracker), so gyroscope and accurate gps would be great advantage
I would like to know if the phone has Galileo support. Please, could someone verify that. GPS Test is one of the apps that can be used to verify if the phone finds Galileo satellites or not.
I found the answer here:
reddit.
Just used google Maps and had a perfect navigation

I did what you asked. I turned off all satellites except galleleo and it doesn't look like it is supported. Here is a pic

OK, thanks for testing it out. Just out of curiosity, did you do the test indoors? Galileo is still in its early stages and there are only a few satellites at the sky. While being outdoors the phone should be able to locate those quite quickly, if they are supported.
It's working
:good:
gps is fine for me. except miui roms. in miui it shows me nearest town or village, in aosp it shows where i am exactly

You completely misunderstood my question - sometimes I use navigation, and on another time I use startrackers.

Remove Battery Icon

Wondering if anyone knows how to remove the battery icon? I'd like to just have the percentage show up. Thanks in advance for any advice on this!
Try Good Lock from the Samsung App Store. It includes lots of status bar tweaks.

I have it set to show the percentage but it isn't there. When I toggle the battery icon in Good Lock, they both disappear.
Just use Systemui Tuner.

I got it to work, I guess I needed to toggle battery percentage off then on. Working perfectly now. Thanks for the suggestion on this!
i just downloaded this app but i don't see the options to do what you guys have done. can you give more explicit instructions? I see a list of apps you can install from the app store (lock star, quick star, multi star, etc...)

Launch Quick-panel star---> visibility of indicator icons--->toggle battery icon. Haha, hopefully you got it.
The app is called Good Lock. The PapaWangsta's instructions should get you taken care of once you download it.

thanks for the intel on this app. but where in settings does one turn on the percentage? im on an unlocked note plus if that matters...
I'm on a note 8 until later today. The attached print screen shows where it's at on the note 8. You should be able to search "hide battery percentage" to find it.
Wow, what an idiot I am ! damn I’m sorry to have wasted internet bandwidth on such a daft question. I cant believe how I missed that in settings.....

I doggedly go through settings to find buried stuff like this. Goodlock apps are superb; even got rid of that nasty AT&T logo.
Just black across the top of my stock Note 10 homescreen like I want it.

Gestures are slightly different with Task Changer running but they all work fine for me. See the images attached for some help. The arrows show the gestures used to launch the different actions.
