I've had various bugs with other versions of TWRP on xda. I've compiled my own version of it.
This build can now PROPERLY decrypt data and back it up.
Thanks to @notsyncing for helping with the drm twrp bug.
Thanks to @berglh

Added kernel source link.
It seems I forgot to add it when I started lineage16.0 thread after moving from 15.1 thread.
Since XDA changed their site PM's werent showing up as notifications for me on my phone so I missed the forum mod's pm and other thread was closed.

My phone is not encrypted on the latest build with the latest twrp.
Is it normal?

So are you saying it was encrypted and then after updating it auto decrypted?
How are you testing if it's encrypted or not?

Multirom is working. Just no boot screen due to DRM issues. Not a big deal but I'd like to fix it before releasing.

No. Coming from miui eu, formating data and wiping everything then flash LOS. But no encryption.
I was on the older build before going back to miui.eu and reflash the latest LOS. On the older build the encryption is OK. But no encryption on the latest.
Maybe i did something wrong and need to reflash everything from 0?

Have you flash any dm-verity disablers?

Hi, I'm using your ROM, first time I mod a phone
great job you've done, only problem I have is that some app (like gmail, protonmail, epson iprint, signdoc mobile) continuosly crash, don't know if it's a problem of the rom, configuration or of the apps.
How can I check?
I installed the vendor/firmware you linked and then wiped system, cache, dalvik and data and installe your rom and the nano opengapps, everything done from the twrp you linked.
Thanks

A few links are broken, as they are copy from the text version, and thus not full links, but rather with the three dots (...).

Its my fault.
I use different vendor.
Im using vendor from miui eu 8.12.20. i thought the encryption will work. After flashing vendor on the OP encryption is working now.

well, i noticed that i always wiped Data too, which i used to do a long time at every single android i had when i was about to flash new rom, never had a single problem, but somehow now it makes problem with booting, so wiped only cache and system and its working fine now, so i guess it was my mistake, 14.1 and 15.1 working fine now, cant wait for 15.1 with working camera

Flashing Instruction
Reboot to custom recovery (TWRP), have a backup just to be sure.
Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, system.
Flash ROM and Gapps.
Reboot.
Flashed it. Works great, no bugs so far.
Before anyone asks, NO, it does not support LVM. It needs the default storage and NOT unified.

What kind of storage does this use? I'm currently on Omni 8.0 and I'm just starting to get worried about security, as it no longer has updates.

Checkout crDroid rom. I'm running android 8.1.0 with Chinese partition. Though I had to use a modded version of latest TWRP to be able to flash.

Have you found out why that is? Is it related to the TWRP version or does the modded one have something special built in?

Worked out bro ! Somehow managed to download the the files to change it to Chinese lvm I made a post on the generals forums if you're interested.
Thanks again guys
tested and works great with chinese unified. wifi, bluetooth, call, camera, everything work... except two small problem: video and no exfat sd card support. the youtube video is laggy after a few video. reboot fix the issue temporarily then comes back again after a few video. not big issue coz it lags for a few seconds only. the youtube is not stuck or what. still able to access everything smooth, just the video is laggy...
So I'd like to try this ROM -currently on Omni Oreo build with LVM. What are my options? Need unification as I need the storage space. Got all the files and patches for going to a non-LVM ROM but not sure what this ROM supports now given the last post LOL
Would try crDroid again but it used to freeze rather than fully reboot after one of the frequent reboots I seen to get with most ROMs.

Hi,
just wondering. If I'm running Resurrection remix v5.7.4, how do i go about flashing this new Rom? My current one has lvm. Do i need to remove the lvm first?
Thanks.

Hi - yes fingerprint works fine; I had no problems with it although I found I had to do a full wipe in order to use it with my banking app. Dalvik/cache/data/system. I am now on Lineage 17.1 from the same group of developers and have no real problems with it.

I never bother with that l just make sure I've backed up my data to big brother Google and reinstall from scratch. Obviously if you don't trust big brother then you'll have to find another way.

In case you are interested, there are new ROMS here:-
Marmite Family - Browse Files at SourceForge.net
sourceforge.net
I have noticed when installing for the first time you might need to format 'data' in TWRP and also in TWRP once you have installed and go to reboot TWRP states ' no system installed' when you reboot the screen stays black for a while don't worry press the power button and boot system. The phone should boot up fine.

Thanks mate. I'd like to try out some GSI roms as well. I wanted to try out Havoc OS (pie) but in the thread on here the author said you need a magisk module to patch so safetynet works but the file on gdrive doesn't exist anymore. Do you have any experience with GSI roms and safety net on this device?

I'm experiencing a really strange bug with this rom. When using 4g data the battery drains like crazy. it goes down by 1 percent every 30 seconds.
The battery isn't actually draining though, it just says it is and forces the phone to switch off. Anyone else get this?
I am using PE+ 10 and do not have any issues like you describe.

Tell me the Russian translation is added in the settings?
I have this problem with the percentage of the battery is not giving me what has to be in the status bar
I tried clean flashing this but I am unable to boot it. When I try to reboot twrp says no OS installed.
EDIT: So it flashed properly but there was no custom boot logo as I expected. Had an Internal Error at startup too but I think that may just be a one time on boot thing.

flash the rom 2 times the error does not come anymore.
I've flashed several times.. the internal problem popup won't go away... Aside from that? Things are running fairly well!

I did try the right vendor but it's not gone.
I'd grab a shot for you but I've moved back to stock until I figure out what I want to do.. Also, and I'm not sure this matters, but whatever is going on, SafetyNet failed the ctsProfile but passed on basicIntegrity.. Not sure if that matters in relation to what's going on with the error message but SafetyNet passes on all roms I've tried, stock and custom.
First off this is a GREAT rom and my daily driver. Secondly I am receiving that error also. Since it seems to be built for the December vendor possibly this error is due to a signing key?

Finish installing crdroid 8.2 on willow, fabulous rom so far!
A big thank for rolling on with crdroid on ginkgo/willow!
I remember flashing this on my sgs4 EU variant. Longest ROM I have ever used on that phone. Thanks for your work, keep it up.
First of all, thanks for keeping crdroid alive for ginkgo. Now the question. Since the title does not have the 'unofficial' tag are you going to apply for official? (I don't really care, but most likely the question will come up sooner or later anyway)

If you are switching to an Android version, I recommend a clean installation.

Maybe just try it yourself, after taking a full backup, and putting it to a save place?
You always can do a clean flash thereafter, if dirty flash is failing ...
Is it Feb security update?
We should get ready for crDroid 9

ah okay. actual twrp based recoveries can for sure flash a12 but you have to decrypt your internal data while flashing using a dfe zip. i don't know if it works with every rom but i know pixel-based roms are also working with encrypted data when using los-based recoveries that are mostly shipped with the rom, look out for it on threads first pages. can't tell more since i've no experience with these. hope it helps a bit. cheers

I have installed CrDroid 8. I have used Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt. The system works, it is decrypted. Unfortunately, when I want to enter recovery, TWRP freezes at the logo screen
//edit
I installed OrangeFox recovery via the fastboot command and now recovery is working
Is sensor block per app working?
