Nest camera App video scrolling - Honor 10 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi All, this is my first post so forgive me if there is an easy solution to this one. I have the Nest camera app which has the ability to scroll through the whole days footage smoothly. Though this is not the case with the Honor 10. It's juddering all the time. This function works fine on my other Android and Apple devices. I have cleared the data and cache and deleted and reinstall the app and also wiped the cache area will no luck from Huawei or the Nest guys. Could this be a video setting somewhere? Any help is very welcome. Cheers

Shortcut to record video?

Hi everyone..
Is it possible to set a shortcut in the home screen to start the camera app for recording video?
Whenever I start the stock camera app, it default to still photo.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I used to have an app installed called SuperFastCam, which started recording video instantly once you launched it. current version seem to be recording video upside down according to the latest reviews. you could give that a try.
SuperFastCam works fine for me on HTC Incredible.
Good tip "mb_3000".
Thanks!
Spoke too soon...
SuperFastCam crapped out on me too. It worked fine at first but after a reboot, it would start but then immediately FC. I tried several re-installs. No good.
Oh well. I'm still looking for an option. I'll pass it on if I find something.

[Q] Problem with Omni Rom 4.4.2 & 4.4.4

Dear community.
I really have to solve this problem as I am going on holiday in 8 days and I dont want to use another ROM, as OmniROM runs best for me.
When I was on OmniROM 4.4.2 I was able to use the camera but not for video recording (also video playback in youtube just gave me sound and some horizontal lines - I can live without youtube but not without video recording).
Today I upgraded to 4.4.4 and I still have this issue.
Can anybody tell me what I can do to get video recording working? The kamera always crashes when I hit the record button....
Update: I just found out, that I cannot receive any more photos via telegram (whatsapp alternate) and if I shoot a foto, it doesnt save in the gallery. Not even anywhere, its just the sound.
When opening the gallery, no photos get displayed too. If I run the cam app and slide I can see the recently made photos (with 4.4.2)

Try wiping the internal storage via TWRP. Remember to make a backup first.

Thank you so much!!! You are my hero of the day.
Unfortunaly I forgot to backup the internal storage photos so they got lost now, but that was all which got deleted. So if anybody expects the same problems, backup your photos :good:

"Cannot display panorama" error on one+ 3T

hello,
i'm having issues with stock camera app.
when ever i take panorama photos and try to view them in gallery (regardless of app used), i get this error message:
"cannot display panorama / the image file does not contain the required panorama metadata".
so far i tried with default gallery app and quickpick. neither of them are able to open the panorama file.
i also tried with google camera app. this seems to take panoramas without issue.
the only time / place i am able to view the panorama files is right after i take them and use the "recent pic" option from within the camera app.
right now i`m on android 7.1.1 with OS 4.1.6. unlock bootloader, TWRP, rooted device, stock OS / kernel.
already tried to clear camera app and gallery app data/cache. also did a wipe of cache / dalvik for entire phone. all in vain.
so .. if anyone has other suggestions ...
thanks.
In QuickPic, don't press on the displayed panorama icon but pinch-to-zoom instead.
Also keep in mind that QuickPic is noticeably slower on Nougat and might take some time to render the photo in full resolution.
The fastest gallery for Nougat at the moment is Simple Gallery, which also shows panoramas without issues for me.

The stock gallery doesn't give me any issues with panoramas, but it's a crappy slow app and I don't use it.
Nothing you can do about this. Something is fundamentally wrong with the way panorama-metadata is stored with their stock camera app.
Also taking panoramas in general is a PITA. I tried numerous shots at the beach last week. All were unusable because of countless stitching errors.
Clearing app data did not help unfortunately and It's not the only thing weird, also taking panoramas with google camera doesn't refocus for each shot.
Even some few OP5 camera reviews mentioned the same behavior. I really hope OnePlus fixes their app eventually.

Issue with image thumbnails slow loading

Hello guys, I have an issue with a really slow loading of photo/image thumbnails. For example, when I open Facebook or Instagram app (or any other app which allows photo upload) and try to upload new photo from gallery, I got a really slow image thumbnail loading during scrolling over all the photos. I have no idea why this is happening. Do you have any idea how to solve this? It's really annoying
You can see screen record demo here.
That's very odd... I am still waiting for my S20 to be delivered, but I can confirm that this is NOT happening on my S9 (with both FB and Instagram)...
Have you tried wiping the data and cache for FB, insta, and the gallery? Just a thought.
Had same issue on s10+...had to many pics on the phone....I moved pics to pc and it loaded it fine...Try to move pics to another storage device...
Nightwind Hawk: thanks for the tip. Tried to wipe data for both apps, but this doesn't help.
termdj: thanks, I will try

I think there's an issue with the stabilisation on your camera! may be clear data/cache on the camera app? if it's the same, I recommend you to take the phone for a check

Like i say, others camera apps works just fine, even gcam with ois. cleared data & cache dont fix this problem for stock app
Heh, found some "bugs" for this.
If i have video options 1080p, 30fps/60fps, display is crooked and picture jumps upsidedown all the time.
If i set 4K, 30fps, crooked is gone but picture still jumps upsidedonw. Same as 4K, 60fps
If i set 4K, 120fps all is just fine, no crooked and no jumps
8K, 30fps trying jumps upsidedown but only move little and then came normal
Crap video, but i think point is there:
