is there FM Radio - Huawei Mate 20 Questions & Answers

Hello guys,
I'm looking into buying Huawei Mate 20. Is there FM radio on these? I would like to buy the 6GB RAM model (HMA-L29 6GB) but do all Mate 20 variants have FM radio and infrared remote? Thanks.

Yes, I think. But I found at a website that HMA_L29 HKG version 6GB doesn't. Don't know why, or if it's a typo.

Yes there is.

Nubia z11 Band 20 support

Hi guys
On GSMarena, the Nubia z11 has LTE Band 20 listed in the specs. When I want to buy the phone however, most websites do not list band 20. There seems to be an international version and a normal version.
Can somebody confirm this? Or is there no difference between the versions and can I just go for the cheapest reseller.
Additionally, is there anybody who has spotted the coffee gold version in the wild? I can't find any real-life pictures so I am really hesitant to buy it since I don't want to end up with a phone that is basically pink.
Yes there's an international version with band 20, and other for china I think without band 20.
After some research I can confirm your claim. There is indeed an international version with band 20. The colours of the international version however, seem to be limited to silver and grey so no coffee gold or black gold.

Thanks Mate but I already ordered and have it here in use ! The initial cost was ~600 € but I ordered it when eBay had this voucher from paypal to get 15% discount which saved almost 100 bucks so it was ok for me. And i defenitely wanted the Black/Gold version.
I really hope Nubia gets this Phone out in more countries and sells more units so the public interest in having ROMs is bigger and something happens here
I don't how the update policies and behavior od NUBIA but I guess it is rather bad as for my experience with chinese manufacturers (except HUAWEI as a positive example).
Looking on the highend hardware this phone has...it still is a tiny bit laggy on some occasions...but this is moaning on a high level

FYI for this thread: I just looked it up on the Tech Specs from nubia.com where it say: FDD LTE B1/3/5/7/8/20 .
@paomaz: I have Telekom SIM and they use B20 with 800Mhz in Cities. So yes to your question.
Maybe a stupid question but, since there is an international version, do you guys think it would be possible to flash the radio etc. from the international version on the versions without band 20 support?
I have a China version of Nubia Z11 white/grey. Unfortunatelly i did not know that Nubia has a chinese version. In nubia.com, you can see only 2 versions of nubia Z11 which are USA and Europe/Asia. Unfortunatelly Chinese version doesn't support band 20. It supports band 3 which is common in Turkey. But sometimes we need band 20, especially far from city centers.
Hello,
How can I see if my phone can work with the 800 MHz in band 20?

As i know there isn't a particular way to learn this. You can screenshot your "about phone scrren" and send it to [email protected] ask them what your phone version is. (USA / Europe or china) China version doesn't support band 20 like mine. You can test it yourself with LTE Discovery app. This app needs root acces to read the LTE band type. If you never see band 20 there, probably your phone doesn't support it. By the way, my phone doesn't support band 20 and it's 4G signal is much way weaker then the other phones. I get 1 bar 4G signal but Samsung gets 5 bars for example.
Nubia is really weak on LTE signal.
I have a euro version, i buy this phone in italy LTE 800 (b20) working ! Chinese version dosent have b20

I alos have this one and the rom was terrible (from China) installed the ComboRom MM ver 3.0 from Pesa1234, now it works like a charm, only no sound on music player etc. Seems he has a solution for that as well, I am just not clever enough to know how to do it.

Has anyone bought the 64GB Chinese International Version and used on Tmobile in USA?

I was interested in the Honor 7X, but did not like 32GB storage, even though I could add SD card. Saw that eBay had a Chinese version, which is 64GB and 4GB RAM. Wondering if anyone has bought one that way and used in US? I use Tmobile and they are listed as working, but wonder if they have all the LTE bands? If not could be poor cell reception. Also do you get software, security updates regularly? Warranty? Any info would be appreciated.

Difference between LG G7 Versions ( European LMG710EM and American LMG710EAW )

Good day to all,
I'm interested in buying LG G7 Thinq , and I want the version with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM (the last one is not commercialized in Europe, I will buy it on Ebay) .. My only doubt is about the presence of the Quad DAC Hi fi on both version..
In fact, checking on European LG site, in the versione of 4 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM, the DAC is really emphatized
https://imgur.com/msd8uop
but on American link, it's never mentioned
https://www.lg.com/hk_en/mobile-phone/lg--128GB
Can someone of you confirm that the LMG710EAW got the Quad DAC Hi Fi ?
Thank you

Thank you for your reply, can you pls let me know if volume is louder? .. Moreover, it has headphone's impedence checker as LG V20 and V30?
If yes, can you try if is still enable the trick of insert an headphone with remote control holding the play button while insert it in order to allow +25% on audio output?
If you don't know what I'm talking about, pls check for example this tread

Your one is branded to a carrier from what I remember a Chinese seller telling me once. Its the exact same as the AL version which is unbranded to a carrier.
Does your phone have any logos on it which look like they could be from a carrier?

Ohh I see. It has no any special logo on the phone body ,just Huawei. But when I start up the phone. It has a 4G LTE logo loaded up before Huawei logo. Mine shows 4Glte on the status bar. I am not sure does the Al00 shows the same or just 4g.

FM RADIO there ???? USA / EU

So we know this year EU / US models have Exynos processor both ( except for Verizon variant ) .
Someone of you on USA VARIANT can tell us if you have FM Radio enabled ? Tis because us in EU that have same identical processor it seems miss FM Radio.
US always gets Snap Dragon processors. Note 10 and Plus both have Snap Dragon 855 in the US, regardless of carrier.

you are wrong.
This year only Verizon Note 10 / + will continue to have Snapdragon
Would you please share with me how you know that to be a fact? All articles that call out the chip in the US are Snapdragon. Samsung wouldn't put a Snapdragon in their phone just for one carrier in one country. It would cost too much. Here, let me start by sharing an article that was update 4 days ago.

Unfortunately, for you he made that claim before the Note 10/+ was "unpacked". He has since said he was wrong. Every reviewer in articles and Youtube that had their hands on a US version said it was a SD 855.

Huh? I literally said US are Snapdragon in my comment you quoted then shared an article to support that comment.
The chipset may support FM radio, but the FM radio requires wired headset/headphone jack to also function as the antennae. Since the note no longer has a headphone Jack what would be the point?
what? note10+ included usb-c headphone. i'm sure that can use as antenna also.

depends if there is room in the standard to recieve radio waves over a pin/wire in the cable. in a headset they generally just wired into a cable to recieve the radio signal. but I'm not sure if USB C would allow them to wire into the earth externally to work as an antenna, but seems most firms are just of the opinion people stream these days, in the UK most of the radio stations have made online streams to account for this.
not ideal if you are limited on data, but it seems that's what most manufacturers and people think these days, the networks just need to catch up on letting people stream more and actually have a fitting data allowance for the speeds of the likes of 5G. (UK networks are working on it with excluding certain services from data use or making unlimited services for reasonable prices)
sorry...

- I wasn't intending to respond to your comment - but rather was trying to offer supporting information to @wolfgart who was saying that only verizon was snapdragon - my apologies- sorry I caused confusion...
I have preordered Note 10+ 512GB 5G from Verizon, not received yet. I had a long texting session with Samsung about this in their app. They insisted there was no radio receiver, and that there was not one in my Note 8 either! After much discussion they agreed for the Note 8 that I had, it must have been an "undocumented" hardware feature. So... who knows!
