Restore from what condition? Rooted, modded, all that?
Just flash the stock firmware with fastboot or RSDlite.
You probably won't be able to relock the bootloader though.

easyest way to update

Hi im not a total noob but I have never updated my phone as was looking for the simplest way to do so. I also have a few questions for when ive done so. Im currently on 4.4.2 rooted soff and have been advised to update so I can get a working kexec so I can install multirom properly.
will I need to reroot and unlock bootloader after?
Is there a risk of bricking.
thanks.

Sir if you were in rooted condition and gladly also in S-OFF, you're free to do anything , i mean rather than fallback to stock, just flash any custom rom you want but also flash it's correlated firmware.
Thank You

Thanks for the reply the reason I was staying on stock is becouse I don't know what Rom to use to suit my needs thats why I was going to try multrom so I can test a few. And keep all my apps and contacts till I change over.
Can anyone add anything further?

If I'm you, I rather update my device to 4.4.4 first as you're running the older firmware so all you can enjoy is simply CM based rom whereas the lastest GPE and sense based rom may not work properly since you're still using the older firmware.
Is it better for me to return to stock update everything and reroot rather than updateing Rom and firmware seperately

Easier way is to restore back to stock and do the OTA than root if need but I don't. I flash a custom recovery and make a nandroid backup and flashing straight! skipping root

The easiest way is to get s off, then go superCID
You download the firmware zip, rename it to 0P6BIMG.zip. Put that on your extCSD and boot into hboot.
That's it. Your phone does the rest.
You can read more about it here.

Do you have s-off?
Or the simplest and fool proof method. Grab your nandroid backup (found in general section) and restore the backup and flash your stock recovery. After which please do a factory reset and try to search for OTA. It'll appear

Use a RUU will be easier for you. But beware, everything inside your device will be clean. So do backup your pictures and etc to your com before you use it.

I understand you not wanting to mess your phone. It is always best not to proceed if you are unsure.
I'm not sure what carrier you are on, but for the normal international model, you will want to download this firmware to use in the method I explained.
Some American carriers have different firmware, so if you on an American carrier, let me know which one and I will provide you with the proper download to update to 4.4.4
The best thing about this method over an RUU is that you won't lose any data.

Hi thanks for the help its appreciated. I have the UK and carrier is O2. Just so I'm clear after fw update all I need to do is update to a 4.4.4 rom? I do have HTC backup and a full tarp backup is that sufficient to restore my phone after thanks again.

Yep, that's right. The HTC backup I wouldn't worry about. They aren't as good as TWPR's. Flash the firmware from the link I provided, then install a 4.4.4 ROM.

My phone boots up in to my previous rom but it seems there is no custom recovery can i just reinstall it useing multirom app as i intend to ues this later on to test roms or do i need to have a custom recovery allready on before i can use the app thanks.
p.s is it normal that i can boot in to a 4.4.2 rom with the 3.19 fw.
Thanks

I just have a simple question about flashing

If I am rooted and have flashed TWRP can I flash back to stock using LG Tools and not have to worry about anything? I need to receive an OTA and this is the only way to do it. Is there anything else I need to do before flashing back to stock aside from backing stuff up? Thanks guys.
Nope just backup all ure apps and contacts the flashtool back stock then let it do its thing now like mine when i goback stock on mine im on kk so i have 2 or 3 updates to do
Ok so basically it will replace my twrp with the base recovery program?

Yes

clean start

I need to perform a full wipe, get this tablet back to stock and then I'll re-root etc.
TWRP thinks I have lt033g when in fact I have the n1awifi model.
I've always been on JB bootloader and I would like to change that as well.
Can someone please list me the steps to correct/change the items?
Thanks in advance!
Figured out how to change the model.
Still would like the steps to completely format and install KK bootloader.

How did you change the model?
In another thread, someone gave me this link on the bootloader question. I have not tried it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69789316&postcount=525
Downgraded TWRP in order to change device being 'read' wrong.
In the end though, I changed my bootloader to KK through Odin which wiped and reset everything.

How do I pull the Stock ROM from a brand new Z Play? (RETBR Dual SIM)

Hi, I want to know how do I pull my own Stock ROM from a brand new and untouched Z Play, there is any way to do it without unlocking the bootloader?

Why exactly do you need that? If you want to backup your setup you should do it if TWRP, but you would need to unlock the bootloader.
If you just want the stock rom, you can use the one available on the links in the stock firmwares post. I used the one for RETBR and it's working just fine.
Link here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/addison/official/RETBR/
That'll give you stock ROM, no need to extract. Hope that helps.

Actually I'm having some problems with 0 IMEI, happened after I've flashed a custom ROM, RETBR as my native. I think the problem is that none of the ROMS available have de DSDS version showing on the one that came on the phone.

I rooted my phone and when I tried to unroot flashing the RETBR ROM I've lost my IMEI, I've seen some discussions saying that this may be caused after wiping modemst1, modemst2 and flashing fsg and modem, I did that.
Now I'm looking for a solution and one of the things I want to try is flashing exactly the same firmware I've had when I bought (And I can do that because my brother bought one too and is totally clean).
Edit: I forgot to say that when I flash the RETBR ROM the baseband is different from the one that shows on my brother phone, we both bought our phone at fastshop here in Brazil.
There is a ROW_DSDS on his rom and mine is only ROW_CUST
Check this: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/28296/full-backup-of-non-rooted-devices
I don't know if it will only backup the /system partition or the whole thing, but it's worth a try.

You will brick your phone as simple as that... You cannot use slots A/B with stock and AOSP simultaneously.
Read the guides on my signature and take care.

And I don't want to, what I'm trying to say is that if I want to go back to stock I can do it fully, including recovery, I don't want to have two systems installed at the same time, just stock or AOSP. And thanks for that post, I'll check it, I'm new in this.

If you return to stock, the recovery is included. You don't need the stock recovery to go back to stock ROM. There is also a guide for "returning to stock".

Recovery is in our boot.img. Flash that and you'll have stock recovery.
