[ABOUT]
Complete One UI is a project try to improve the experience of One UI on Samsung Pie devices. Specifically, by using Substratum overlay to fix the UI to what majority of user think it should be and make it dark if Samsung didn't. And also making One UI look more consistent by providing icon pack follow One UI style for more apps - here.
Here is Complete One UI telegram group. It is fun here =))

[DONATE]
Thanks for your all encouragement and donation. This is just such a great motivation for me to keep this project better and better.

[WARNING]
This project mainly for official Samsung Pie devices (for now are S9, S9+). So these mods may crash other devices. You could try but make sure you now how to uninstall these overlays.
[MODs]
How to use?
[Recmmend] Install Substratum apk if you are familiar with it (you need andromeda to use Substratum on Samsung Pie)
If you don't want to involve with Substratum, install individual apk for each mod. Downside of this way is difficult to manage and uninstall mod overlays.
Attempt no.1: Dark Package Installer
Make a dark theme for Package Installer. Round the corners, buttons and bring the dialog to the bottom follow One UI style.
Warning again: This apk tested on S9 Pie. Not guarantee to work with others. This is just a simple Substratum Overlay, so if you want to be tester, maker sure you know how to uninstall if it does not work for your devices. You can read this post for help
Use "White Permission Icon" (android) mod to fix readability of icons
Attempt no.2: Samsung Keyboard bottom gap
For some reason from One UI beta 3, Samsung decide to add an empty space at the bottom of the keyboard while using gesture navigation.
Some people like it but I and someone didn't. You could avoid this issue by using other keyboard like Gboard or SwiftKey but I like Samsung keyboard so finally, this is the mod to remove that empty space.
Note: This can only use with gesture navigation mode. Navigation buttons mode won't work, it will remove your nav buttons.
For users who use Samsung Pay, use "RemoveKeyboardSpaceSpay" version. This will keep the Samsung Pay on your lock and home screen. The different between this version and the other is it still leaving a tiny space under the keyboard.
Attempt no.3: Dark Samsung Note
For now Samsung Notes had dark mode but not complete so let complete it.
The compose page cannot be theme because it is hard code.
Attempt no.4: Black Nav Bar
This mod is so popular so I will re-direct it to another post - here
For short: use this on adb to get black nav bar
Code:
adb shell settings put global navigationbar_color -16777216
adb shell settings put global navigationbar_current_color -16777216
adb shell settings put global navigationbar_use_theme_default 0
Attempt no.5: Remove Multisim Panel
For some want to save some space in the quick settings panel by remove multi-sim panel
Attempt no.6: Bigger Rotation Button
From android 9, there is a assistive rotation button when your rotation is locked. On Samsung devices if using gesture navigation, this rotation button is quite small and very difficult to touch. This is where this mod is useful to enlarge this button.
Tips: After your phone is restart, the rotation button could disappear after watching full screen video. Re-install the mod will fix the problem.
Attempt no.7: Dark Lockscreen Notification
With theme on Samsung Themestore you can easily change this color but with Substratum it harder because Samsung have block it outside Themestore. So this is the best I can tweak to back it Dark. Yes and it is not perfect.
Note: For the mod Dark Lockscreen Notification, to change the text color go to Settings>Lockscreen>Notification, set View Style to Brief, Transparency to highest value and turn on Auto-reverse text color.
Attempt no.8: Dark Recent App Menu
Another UI Samsung forget to theme for Night Mode
Attempt no.9: Better Tabs Bottom Bar
This is BIG mod . I bring the Close All button in Samsung Browser tabs view to the bottom for easier one-hand use. And also turn it to icon button instead off text button for clean look.
Note: Better Tabs Bottom Bar is only compatible with version 9.0.01.65 or above
Attempt no.10: Change Statusbar Clock Position
Attempt no.11: Night Mode for Theme Store & Galaxy Store
This mod is work with system night mod which mean when system night mod is toggle off, these apps will be changed to light theme as well.
Note: Use "Grey Statusbar" (android) mod to fix readability of the status bar
Attempt no.12: One Hand Folder View and Remove App Name, Page Indicator and Folder Color Button
BEFORE
AFTER
Attempt no.13: Bottom Search Bar for Drawer and Bottom Recent App Menu
BEFORE
AFTER
Attempt no.14: 4 or 5 Quick Settings Rows and Remove Label
Attempt no.15: Task Changer Dark Menu and Dark Background
Attempt no.16: Smart Capture (Screenshot) Bottom Edit Toolbar

[TIPS]
How to revert/uninstall the mods?
As I mention if you get rid of Substratum may get you difficulties in manage and uninstall the overlay because Samsung default hide these overlays. But you still can follow one of two ways to remove them:
Install Substratum and uninstall them in Overlay Manager tab.
Use this adb line:
Code:
adb uninstall [mod's package name]
How to identify mod's package name?Mod's package name is the name of the mod's apk that you installFor example: to uninstall the mod "com.google.android.packageinstaller.CompleteOneUIMods.apk" use this code
Code:
adb uninstall com.google.android.packageinstaller.CompleteOneUIMods

You dont need to reinstall. Just go to app in setting and uninstall the overlay apk. Let me investigate the crash. Will report later.

Sorry to hear that. There are some ways that you can fix the problem. It seems like Samsung is hiding the overlay apk in the system so you could fix that by:
1: Install the apk in attached file. This apk revert to the original state of Package Install, however, if you use this way the overlay apk is still install in your phone
2: Uninstall the overlay apk using adb, this way you can totally uninstall the apk out of your phone bye using the line "adb uninstall com.google.android.packageinstaller.CompleteOneUI"
3: Uninstall using Substratum (if you know what is Substratum), go the the overlay manager tab, select Package Install overlay and uninstall.
Get back to let me know if it work or not

This is my attempt to complete One UI experience. I use substratum overlay to fix UI where it's still not Dark or what I think the UI should be to consist One UI experience. I am not a developer so this thread is for sharing my work, discuss and helping.

If you want this Package Installer UI install the apk in attach file (overlay apk)- no need to restart on Pie

Attempt no.2: Remove the gap under Samsung Keyboard when using Gesture Navigation
The Samsung Keyboard has a gap under it but Gboard does not have. So I believe that I could change the dimens gap under to 0.0dip by using Substratum but I cannot find the layout xml yet. If someone can find it please share.

Can you make it for s7 oreo (run in custom rom)?
Really like it...

@osuki9x, I like a lot the work you are doing here!
Samsung OneUI with dark mode looks great and your work for improving it is appreciated.
Can I ask you two questions?
1) does the APK you shared work without root or Substratum?
2) feature request: would it be hard for you to build a little package with just one single change, that is to make Samsung navigation bar background always black, so it does not change per application?
Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work!

1) It depend on your device. But I believe that any device that can use Substratum without root (Samsung) will be able to use this apk. The apk is actually an overlay build by Substratum (which you can find substratum apk in this post) but I already built it for you guy so technically you don't need Substratum to work. Note that this is only tested on S9 Pie.
2) I like your idea, maybe I will build one ?. For now still stuck with the keyboard gap.

you should check this. this work fine on pie. It will make your default nav bar to whatever color you like. It is just default nav bar color which mean that if devs does not assign any color to the nav bar in their, it will be default color.

[EOL] Get PIXEL FEATURES

GOOGLE PIXEL APPS and FEATURES
on LENOVO A6000/Plus and all other devices having Marshmallow or Nougat ROMs, can now be obtained by updating ××> Google Play Services <×× and ××> Google App <×× to their latest version.
Also, choose English US as the default language and you might need to sign up for play services and google app beta. You don't need to read any further, but no-one's gonna stop you if you want to waste your time.
=======================================
First of all, I DIDNT'T MAKE ANY OF THESE APPS OR MODS MYSELF. I JUST DOWNLOADED AND TESTED THEM ON MY DEVICE. ALL THE CREDIT GOES TO THEIR RESPECTIVE DEVS ONLY AND I DON'T TAKE ANY CREDIT IN THIS. All I did is to compile this in this single thread.
If you follow all the steps correctly, nothing is gonna go wrong. But, in case, anything bad happens "I" should not be held responsible for that.
----REQUIREMENTS----Min. Android Marshmallow 6.0 is required to get these features. Also on Android 6.0 you need to have Xposed installed with XPOSED GOOGLE ASSISTANT ENABLER module Find it here. This is not required on Android 7.0+
Also, make sure that your Google Apps have been updated to the latest version.
----DOWNLOADS----
I've uploaded all the following APKs and ZIPs to my Google Drive, so that you don't have to go searching all the links. All these are latest as of Dec 2nd but if you are, for instance, checking this page after a long time then its better for you to download each app separately, as I have included the links to the play store of these apps (which I could found).
---Download All Files From Here---
1. --Minimal--
1.1 Google Pixel BooT Logo (for A6000/Plus only)
1.2 Google Pixel Bootanimation
1.3 Google Pixel Wallpapers
1.4 Pixel Launcher
1.5 Google Pixel Navigation Bar (only for 7.0/+)
1.5.1 Substratum Theme Engine
1.5.2 Substratum N NavBar
1.6 Google Assistant
1.6.1 Google app
1.6.2 Velvet
1.6.3 ChopAssistant
1.6.4 BuilProp editor (Optional)
2. ---Add-Ons---
2.1 Google Pixel Camera. If this version doesn't work for you then you can try other variants as per your architecture FROM HERE.
2.2 Google Pixel Dialer
2.3 Google Pixel UI Sounds and Notification Tones
2.4 Nova Launcher Prime (please buy premium version to support devs). Here's how to mod NOVA to look like Pixel Launcher
2.5 Pixel Icon Pack (for nova launcher)
----Steps to follow:----
First Download the Minimal pack and/or Add-Ons, as per your requirement.
Now, the first thing you should do, straight away, is to flash the boot logo and boot animation, through recovery.
Then, install Pixel Launcher and the look is somewhat now has been changed to Nougat. Also, install the Wallpapers app by Google to apply the Pixel Wallpapers.
Now, if you want to have those filled icons in the navigation bar, you have to now install Substratum Theme Engine (works only on CM14+) and N NavBar theme. Now, just open the Substratum app and tick at the appropriate options and click on the roller icon to reboot.
Next you would want to do setup the Google Assistant, for which you have took all this pains. So, install the latest Google App and the ChopAssistant (this app is used to "chop" the teach your assistant message that appears everytime and ruins the whole "ok google" thing).
Now, just don't start playing with your "personal" assistant. First you have to tweak a few things. First of all, go to /system/priv-app directory and create a new folder "Velvet". Now paste the "Velvet.apk" (yes, rename the velvet app like this first "exactly") in it and set its permissions to rw- r- r-
(If you have any problem with above step, I can make a flashable zip, for that)
Now, you can use BuilProp Editor for this or any root explorer app. Go to /system/ and open and edit build.prop like this.
Search for:
Code:
ro.product.model=xxx
if you find it, rename it as follows or ,if not found, add this line
Code:
ro.product.model=Pixel XL
Also, add this line too at the end of build.prop
Code:
ro.opa.eligible_device=true
Now, all you gotta do is to reboot the phone. If still, Assistant doesnt't work. Wipe the data of Google App by going in settings. Also, give it the permission to use the microphone. Also, go to settings>>Buttons>>Home long press action and choose search assistant.
Now, it should be working. If not, check this whole step 5 again.
So, that's pretty much everything. But, if you want to get a mile ahead then you can flash the Pixel Dialer and Pixel Sounds zip. Also, you can install the Google Pixel Camera. And, if you are still not satisfied then you can edit the framework-res files to add the animated navigation bar. You'll find the tutorial everywhere on the internet. And, for round pixel icons, install nova launcher, tweak it to give you a complete Pixel look.
I wanted this thread so that anyone could follow. And, I think anyone with the knowledge of rooting and flashing can perform the above steps.
So, thanks guys for reading all through this.
If you, in any way, liked my work. Please hit the thumbs up button.
----Screenshots----
Actually, I did this on my MOTO E2 and Im adding the ss from Moto E2 for your reference. The above tutorial is totally compatible with A6000 and moreover to most of the devices.

Alternative
Great...
I have question about google pixel nav. It uses subtratum theme engine right?. I read substratum theme engine at google play. It says "Substratum does NOT work with ROMs using the CM theme engine".
So, I think it will not work on all MM ROM which still use CM Theme engine right? CMIIW
I've tried Android N-ify (Xposed module) and it works too. I think you can add it as alternative on your thread.
As alternative for launcher, you can use Action Launcher 3. Now it support pixel style and it has a lot of customisation (alert!!! only pro version)

Okay I'll check it.
The android n-ify would enable anyone having lollipop and above to get the Nougat look (notification and quick toggles, etc.).
So, I would add steps so that anyone with even older android versions can use it. Actually, I wrote this tutorial for devices running Nougat.
Also, I looked into Action Launcher and its too much complicated. Why would anyone mod it if they can do the same with Nova. Yeah, i tweaked nova and was able to get same look (atleast 95%) as Pixel Launcher. The only plus point to use any other launcher than Pixel Launcher itself would be you can use your favourite nova with the Nougat icons.

You can wait for a few more days since Google has now enabled Google Assistant by default for Marshmallow and new Android versions. You can use Google assistant after updating Play Services and other all related gapps to their latest version., In a few days.
Just install nougat rom and aroma opengapps, i can pixelify my device. Aroma opengapps gives me an option to enable any google apps what i want and sure, google Assistant. It will be enable by default without change build.prop manually, and aroma open gapps has an addon.d script, so the google AI will be backed up automatically althought you update your rom. Now, i have google AI on my device running official LinOS 14.1.

HyBriD_S_aTe (S8)
This is a project I've been working on for a while and I decided to share in case anyone wants to use it or has anything to add to make it better. I am not a programmer but dabble in Mods and Tweaks (Google is the best teacher). The Rom is in process, once there is pretty stable version I will have to stop from developing so much, as I'm already in the dog house.
First and foremost, much thanks to all developers here on XDA especially @drewiskee, for his Telenougat Rom which this Rom is meant to resemble somewhat while including some changes for my personal preference. Also thanks to @tdunham for the original contributions that made Telenougat possible. As I'm short on time I will add mentions as i think of them.
DISCLAIMER:
Code:
Your warranty is now void, nothing can change that so why not try some Roms and Tweaks.

This includes some personal apps as its a personal Rom so just disable what you don't use - as of v1.1.0 some can be uninstalled via regular uninstall under settings>apps
Mods will be added as I get them to post 2
Center clock hides on lockscreen
I've created a custom Google widget that resembles S8 with some major differences (there's a battery meter around the Google icon, current weather shows instead of "Say OK Google", and the widget changes while charging). - Create widget on home page, choose Zooper 4x1, click on it after placed and select "New Style G bar" (or something else if you prefer)

V1.1.8 Final Final FIXED 7/12/17 Most likely my last update, I ordered an S8+ (although now that I have it there's not much difference and I like the feel of the s6 edge plus a little more). Updated items are above in Rom features section.
HyBriD S_aTe V1.1.6 - updated many apps, install non play store apps by default, no signature check (making easier to update system apps), ROM now says "official" in about screen, added reboot recovery to power menu, changed default wallpapers, changed default lock screen wallpaper to "HyBriD ROM" custom paper, included a dark theme to set by Theme store>my themes (changed to default icons instead of theme icons), more changes.
MIRROR v1.1.6
V1.1.3 - Enable stock battery animation, battery in quicksettings, remove couple apps(install from play store free), changed default wallpapers and added s8 wallpapers, enable install non play store apps by default, disable app verification(experimental), everything should be running well and I am going to focus on mods rather than Rom for a while. Any mods can be flashed via recovery or i will be working on magical modules soon.
v1.1.0 -Final (fix hotspot, hopefully fix avatars in messages, floating_features.xml additions, change in user apps method, remove V4A - future mods will be via flash or magisk for stability, updates and more)
V1.0.7 - final

ADD-ONS and MODS:
- NO SAFE VOLUME WARNING: (Flashable Zip)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxg8kVWBF2gcTXFkRDY1VHliY2M/view?usp=drivesdk
- My wallpaper folder. I use Automagic to rotate these every hour on home screen and every unlock on lockscreen.
https://www.mediafire.com/file/35k5g3cc71r5yy6/Wallpapers.zip
- My zooper folder attached to post. Unzip on root of /sdcard if widgets not being included in rom or for anyone that wants the New Style G Bar below. It is light colored when not charging.
CHARGING
NORMAL
- Enable Converter in Calculator app.
Unlock Hotspot versions 1.04 - 1.0.7 (only for G928P, will break other devices and different ROMs most likely) - Flashable zip
Recommended apps:
- Automagic (automate tasks on your phone. Like tasker but with visual GUI)
If you end up getting this I can share some widgets that let you swap wallpapers throughout the day and any time.
- SystemUI Tuner (turn off any notification icon)
- Soundcamp (make music on your device with instruments and sound boards)
KNOWN ISSUES
- Places Tab in phone shows nothing nearby, maybe in another region?
- Samsung Pass doesn't work with rooted device. Will remove on future revisions.
- Possible crash of BIXBY when video card is shown? Disable video card. Bixby page>settings>cards
- Some built in apps not playing well being system apps. (TITANIUM BACKUP, POLARIS OFFICE,let me know any others). Just install again from play store or use explorer to go to apk file and install maybe. I will take them out in the future until figure out how to include "user apps" in rom. These will crash at first boot just hit close and continue on.
-V4A sound requires install of module in Magisk Manager
- V1.1.8. Custom background for power menu has some quirks. If ROM control crashes just clear data on that app, then open it and go to "Links and Other Settings">Setting Intents> Click reset power Bg. Can now choose different background. Also, I've found I can only choose background with external app like Mega. I just put all my images online then choose what I want. This is something to do with nougat implementation of image. If an update comes I will try to get it fixed.
- V1.1.8 FIX - Phone force closing, install latest Samsung phone apk

AOD would require kernel support. It may be possible to need with kernel to add but I haven't touched kernel yet.
On a side note I found a cool feature never knew. Nougat always sets default app when you first pick it but if you go to settings>apps>menu>default apps there is option to make it all every time like lollipop. I been using "better open with" for this but now won't need it (although it doesn't hurt). You can also change other settings in there for default assistant and others. ?
HOTSPOT
I'm sorry to say that hotspot is not actually working unless you have subscription . I thought it was working I either messed up or didn't wait long enough to get subscription message. This is my highest priority as it's main reason i am not in stock firmware. i have sent message to some devs to hopefully get some help but in mean time I'm going through files swapping them as i can to get it working. If anyone finds a solution please let me know and i will update ROM and/ or put a patch file in OP.

Not sure i am running V4 TeleNougatV4_4/27Build now and messaging app looks like s8 and when i apply theme it updates but in your build i do not have sent avatar and when i apply theme gives me mix of default and themed bubbles.
I tried flashing s8 sms but still not taking effect even with re-flashing ROM fresh full wipe, other then that ROM looks awesome like using t s8 sms looks clean and nice

It has to be enabled in floating_feature.XML (system/etc) but I don't see any difference after enabling. I will enable by default but can you post a screenshot so I know what I'm looking for final result
Update
New version in OP.
Fix Hotspot, update couple things, floating_feature.XML additions, change user app method(can uninstall regularly), add clipboard panel (external app since clipboard edge not working). Removed V4A future mods can be added via magisk or flashing.
I am working on themes for night clock, can change font colors easily but can't find battery yet. Will post some when done. Not sure how to screenshot.
Final update in OP. Should be good to go I am going to work on other things for a while. If bugs arise I will assist in fixing them, if enough I will do one more update. Tired of setting my phone up over and over to test from wiped state.
Enabled battery animation, battery in quick settings, removed energy bar.

For all: An update is on the way, to be posted in next day or 2. Was trying to get a few more mods implemented

Custom Magisk Module Mod Maker-ADB and Zip Installers

The purpose of this installer is to generate for you a custom module that you can flash in Magisk Manager. It will have all the mods that you have selected from the installer menu. You need root and of course you need to be attached to your PC. On first installation of systemui base, a pop-up asking to give ADB shell root permission will show. Please do so.
Zip installer is installed from your phone, not your pc. You will install the mods through Magisk app. Unzip the Zip Installer onto your internal sdcard. Like ADB installer, start with a SystemUI base. Do not reboot between selections as Magisk as shows after flashing selections (options are found inside the numbered folders). Hit the back button to make your next selection. Do not reboot thru Magisk until after you are done with your selections and have flashed the "Complete Installation" zip.
Custom clocks (date, etc) and internet speed indicators do not change colors due to light-dark background colors like the statusbar icons do.
Android 11
The developer of Active edge gave me permission to use his base so that people would not have to make a choice between his and my mods. All credit for this goes to him. You must delete the active edge sense module and use one of my active edge modules. If it doesn't say active edge then it isn't active edge sense compatible. If there is an issue with edge sense after flashing, do not contact edge sense op with issues. He does not troubleshoot modified versions of his mod (and neither do I).
I'm also including my Pixel Launcher mod. Also a ADB Installer. You can change app drawer background-text color (separately for light mode and dark mode), remove weather from Launcher. Change the number of hot seat icons on home page (and size) as well as change the number of columns in the app drawer.
ADB Installer Instructions-Root is required
1. Flash one of the SystemUI Bases First. They provide the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work.
2. FLASH ALL THE MODS YOU WANT. ONCE YOU DONE WITH EVERYTHING, FLASH THE "COMPLETE INSTALLATION" Option. This will create a Magisk Manager flashable zip in a folder on your sdcard called ozop. Flash that to install your selection of mods.
Root required
ADB Instructions.
1. Unzip ADB Mods Installer Files.zip on your PC
2. Run TulsadiverModsInstaller.bat (Give ADB Shell Root Permissions. If missed on first opportunity, turn on in magisk manager, superuser)
3. ADB debugging Enabled
4. Flash one of the SystemUI Bases First. They provide the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work
5. Go through the other options selecting what all mods you want. It is generally best to start at the top and work your way down.
6. Once finished with selections, run "Complete Installation" at the bottom. This will generate your mymagisk.zip module in a folder called "ozop" on your sdcard.

Just finished building a basic mod with Active Edge, center clock with day, and WiFi traffic. Everything works perfectly.
Thanks again!
Hi,
Thanks for this.
I managed to get a center clock , and swap the nav bar around. :good:
If I want to add more things , like changing text colors in qs for example , do I have to make an entire new mymagisk.zip?
I.E. run the base and framework again?
If I do , will I have to run the center clock and nav swap again?
And what happens to the mymagisk.zip?
Does it get replaced , or do I have to delete it before I start again?
Had another thought, will we need to rebuild the module when the monthly updates come like it was in the past?

Yes, you have to redo everything you did previously and add the new ones as well. Apks can only be modded once in magisk so it has to be done over. The module.prop remains the same. mymagisk.zip will be over-written and once flashed, the module will be replaced. No need to remove. What I do is rename my mymagisk.zip to something else and leave it in case I want to use it again. Again, the module prop is the same so it will over-write what is currently installed.

Depends on what changes. Lots of times the SystemUIGoogle.apk and framework-res.apk are left unchanged in updates. But if it changes, I'll have to build and upload another new updated ADB Installer.
Edit: that is why I try to put dates on my uploads.

OK , thanks.
I actually find this method easier than faffing around in TWRP.
Good idea to keep the ready made "mymagisk.zips" for future re-use

Yes and if someone likes your setup you can share your ready made zip with someone else. I make them for people all the time as this can be difficult for some people and also the ADB Installer is a large zip. Some people have poor internet connections.

Sorry to double post, but have you @Tulsadiver heard anything about the Active Edge Magisk module support causing slow downs, freezes, and needing to hard reboot to get the phone responding again?
A post in Freak07's kernel thread theorizes that: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pi...aq-1-0-0-pixel-4-xl-aka-t3992213/post80749011
After removing the Active Edge support from your mods and moving to flar2's Button Remapper fixed the issue for me so far.
Any thoughts as to why the Active Edge modifications would cause issues for Pixel 4's?

None. I've never used it before. I did have to get it in a weird way. He no longer puts the SystemUIGoogle.apk for each phone in the module but edits the apks on the fly. I had someone pull me a copy from the module after it was installed. Maybe the 4 xl is different enough to cause issues. He has a telegram thread. Try posting there.

You should end up with the module zip in a folder name ozop. That's where mine end up.

12 Icon shapes
22 Fonts

Adds 2 button mode navigation (it was removed on Android 11 but I think some users like that navigation mode, so I add it)

Exclusive features downloads:
Android_11_Addon_Features_For_Pixel_V13.zip -> "Harmless" module that works on any Pixel device running on STOCK ROM, much like the "universal mod" shared above, but with a Rom Control app version that has more options. The "exclusive features" options won't do anything if the SystemUI module, shared next, isn't installed. If your going to try these exclusive features module, install this one and not the one shared above. The SaftetyNet is also included on this module, so once again, don't try to use any other SafetyNet module since it could break things.
Android_11_SystemUI_for_Addon_Features_V10.zip -> This is "THE" module! This module adds all xml and smali changes into SystemUI. Without this module the "exclusive features" won't work. Also, this module could be responsible for breaking boot if it fails to work at your end. I've ran several tests on my device (a Pixel 4a) and didn't face any issues but, since this module replaces stock SystemUI for a modded SystemUI, you could run into problems if some other module tries to do the same or it's simply incompatible with it. This module was updated to match latest Android 11 October 2021 build.
Android_11_SystemUI_for_Addon_Features_V9.zip -> Use this version ONLY if you're still running any Android 11 build between June and September 2021!
Notes regarding the "exclusive version" for Pixel devices:
DO NOT, I'll repeat, DO NOT flash "SystemUI module" zip on any other ROM besides stock. It won't work! If you want those extra features on your current ROM you will have to port them yourself. I explain how to later on this post.
Make sure that you're able to run adb shell as root before rebooting your device.
If something goes wrong after flashing "SystemUI module", like if your device doesn't boot or something stupid, connect your phone to your PC during boot and run this:
Code:
adb shell
Code:
su
Code:
rm -rf /data/adb/modules/Modded_SystemUI && reboot
If you forgot to enable the ability to run adb shell as root, and if your device is on a "non-boot" state, the only way you can fix that is to remove all Magisk modules you have installed. That can be achieved by running the following commands during boot:
Code:
adb shell
Code:
magisk --remove-modules

If none of the above methods work to get your device booting, then you have to boot into safe mode. By doing so, Magisk will disable all modules for you (it doesn't uninstall them, just disables them). To force a boot into safe mode all you need to do is to keep pressing volume down button during boot animation. After the system boots into safe mode you can reboot your device to boot up normally (since all modules will be disabled). If you get stuck during boot animation again, just force another reboot (I've had to do that during my tests).
The "SystemUI module" requires that your device is already updated to March build!
When a new OTA update comes please don't flash the "SystemUI module" until I say it's ok to do so. I mean, me or any other member who may have tested it. Why? Because Google may change things on stock SystemUI between builds. When that happens, I have to recreate the module again to adapt those changes. For instance, March build was not compatible with the module that was built on top of February build SystemUI. Rest assured that I'll always test the module with new builds and update as necessary.
In case your device gets caught in a bootloop, please provide me a logcat so I may try and look if anything can be done about it. To do so, during boot connect your device to your PC and grab a logcat with this adb command:
Code:
adb logcat > log.txt
Requirements:
Unlocked bootloader
Magisk Root | Magisk Manager
Suggestion:
Uninstall all other modules you may have installed IF you're going for the "exclusive features". They could be incompatible with the "SystemUI module" thus making the device get caught in a bootloop. You may install them afterwards, one by one, just to make sure everything is ok.
If you're up to it, instead of disabling/removing modules, just flash latest stock build through fastboot. If you want to retain your data, remove the "-w" flag from the update command on flash-all script.
How to install? (If you're running a Pixel 5, just install the module...you don't need all these next steps)
Uninstall Device Personalization Services updates
Clear Google Play Store app data and cache
Flash the Magisk Module(s)
Reboot device
Open Google Play Store and update Device Personalization services (or any other Pixel exclusive app you see it needs to update).
Profit!

How's these "exclusive features" even possible?
All (well, not all but almost...) features that you see on Pixel Devices "SystemUI module" were reverse engineered from Evolution X ROM source code. The source code is available on the link bellow shown on the credits. This means that I've been practicing some hard core "old school" Android smali edition in order to get this working. So, yes, I have some credits about this but, if it weren't for the original developers and it's public source code, none of this would be possible. Thank them for this!
Smali, and xml, edition wasn't enough to get this working. After decompiling, changing/adapt the code and recompiling everything again, I had to find a way to make it bootable without messing with the original apk signature. And here is where VR Theme logic came in handy. So thanks for the original dev who brought us this feature.
As for ROM Control app....this was/is a project created by daxgirl and wubydax back in 2015! So yeah, I'm not bringing anything new here, I just followed their instructions in order to get the features working after editing smali/xml with the source code taken from Evolution X. The original app source code is also available on the link shared on the credits.
I've just combined all of the above into a Magisk Module and shared here so that we can get the best of both worlds....a stock ROM with custom features included.

It didn't? Weird. It should work with any media player. Have you tried to pause the video/song and start again to check it?
You've enabled the option on ROM Control, right?
Any chance this works on Android 12?

For Android S I've made other module that just adds some features like the "V8 module" on the OP and allows you to test the S hidden features.
For S I haven't made the "exclusive features" since, until final release, Google will most likely change at lot of stuff so there's no point on wasting time smali editing S SystemUI.
I'll attach it on this post if you want to try.
Every feature and instructions are on the attached PDF.
Cheers!

Yes, I tried it in different ways. And the pixel stand setting still doesn't work.
It's strange, for some reason I don't have player controls on the lock screen at all...
Understood. This is due to the fact that I had "Skip lock screen"

I don't believe the privacy indicators and dashboard are working. At least, nothing shows up when one of my apps uses the camera or mic is being used.

Unfortunately no, it isn't. Dt2s requires modding framework.jar and that, unfortunately, doesn't work. I've tried... couldn't make it boot after modding.

V9 module works fine.
However, when I flash v9+system ui module together, the alarm icon is missing when unlocked the phone.

The alarm icon is missing? You mean you can't see your alarm icon on status bar? And on expanded QS header, is it there?
Could you enable SystemUI Tuner on Rom Control and then check on Tuner Settings (that appears on system settings) if by any chance the alarm icon is disabled?

Awesome!
Thank you for taking the time to make your mod possible for this device! This is amazing that I can get this experience on Stock, it feels like I'm on a custom Rom now.
I've been running v9 addon with systemUI exclusive features and everything works great except 2 minor things. One is enabling blur creates quite a bit of lag at any blur level, I believe this is already a known issue. The other is that center clock mod is a little off for this device. Neither is a big deal and everything else works perfectly.

Yeah the blur kind of slow things down sometimes, that's why I've added the blur levels. Hopefully, the lower the value the less lag.
As for the center clock, well that's because of the camera notch...not much I can do there since the padding moves everything to the right and the center clock layout already has 0 for left padding value. If you enable the date on the left side, it minimizes that awful "center" look.
Cheers and enjoy!

Not likely with this current mod unless you are on Stock Android 11 March build. You can try Tulsadiver's center clock CC clock mod but again it may not work on a custom ROM.
Are you on a Pixel 4a 5G? I wasn't aware of a Pixel experience ROM out for this device.
Hello, just for information, I flash the mod by deleting before Center Clock, G-Mod Visual and SafetyNetPass. Once configured the battery, the centered time etc ...
Finally no need for the Center Clock and SafetyNetPass mods, but I still flash the G-Visual mod for the Phil style bar and round corner function which has more configuration options.
No bootloop & problems everything is ok great
Latest update straight made gapps force close,
Anything using google services for login will force close, gmail, offer up, google app, ect
I cleared data and cache for those apps and problem still persists
Any help would be appreciated, I'd rather not have to factory reset my phone
