it seems I'm the first person to test it

It seen I'm the second person to tested

Hey @kherio,
I just installed on a US998 v30s and first impressions are really positive. It booted straight up, and setup up was smooth with no bobbles. The rom is the quickest at least by qualitative feel that I have encountered. The dac works nicely. It does suffer the same issues with Verizon as other AOSP roms. A call out is required before texts can be sent or received, a minor nuissance, and VoLTE is not working.
I'll use it for a few days and post more afterwards.
Additions:
- Native visual voicemail is working along with vms notifications. Neither works for the open market model roms with Verizon and I haven't encountered the feature with other roms , very cool.
- Speaker volume is weak.
- Magisk 18 passes SafetyNet Check.
- One system black screen crash in dialer app required a button-forced reboot.
Thanks again!

If you use WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, can you test speaker calls through both?

Hi,
What about the sound volume? Is it enough loud? Now I am on PixelEperience and it works fine except the sound volume. It is just too low comparing to original ROM.
Regards

Can confirm AOD bug where screen flickers as it shuts off is non existent on this ROM.
Ambient display is usable again.

That's a good news. If right this is the first rom that solved aod bug.
Anyone has the gps test? Havoc is very weak while PEX is much better in locking.

Stable , very fast and my new favorite but the wide angle lens will not work from any google cameras ?

Can this rom be installed on US998?

I assume so, as long as it's a US998 that's not former H931 or possibly H933.
Some former H933 do work with AOSP custom ROMs, if you do the work around.

does the speaker work during video call?

Initial review
So first of all, the install was fairly simple (that's if you've done this kinda thing before).
After flashing the ROM and GAPPS I flashed Magisk.
:good:
The ROM seems nice and stable; no random crashes, error pop-ups or odd app behavior.
It's really nice to see the ctsProfile check working correctly out of the box, so Google Pay was no trouble. :good:
The features in this ROM are great, loads to customize and some really useful options are included that help me a lot. I've had issues with previous ROMs where the fingerprint unlock wouldn't work properly, and the screen would just remain black; this is not an issue with this ROM (so far anyway).
Animations on the system are a little 'dodgy', sometimes they will be fine and other times it will lag quite a bit. I have disabled animations for the time being, but this issue is prevalent in a couple of other ROMs I have tested.

The only thing I'm wondering about. This doesn't work on any Pie ROMs I've tested so far, so if it does on this one, I'm sold.

XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and small parts from Code Aurora Forum (CAF) necessary,
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project, AOSiP and many others including all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,
then join us on Telegram: http://telegram.me/halogenos
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.
https://halogenos.org
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another ROM:
Code:
* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Back up your [I]Internal Storage[/I]
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build (format using fastboot --wipe-and-use-fbe if your device supports FBE)
Although you usually can dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed to work.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

Installing for the first time
Code:
* Download the current version of XOS for your device.
* Reboot into a compatible Android Recovery solution. (We recommend TWRP)
* Wipe [B]'/system' & '/cache'[/B], [B][U]FORMAT[/U] /data preferably using fastboot --wipe-and-use-fbe (You will lose all your data incl. internal storage)[/B].
[I](Optional: For `Dirty Flash`, do not wipe [b]anything[/b])[/I]
* Select the appropriate ROM zip and flash the current ROM build.
* Want Google Apps? Obtain and flash the latest GApps from http://opengapps.org/
* Flash any other system modifications you may want
* Reboot.
Manually updating the ROM
XOS ships with an OTA updater built-in (soon) which should automate the downloading and flashing process,
however should your wish be to manually update the ROM, you should be our guest.
Code:
* Download the current version of XOS for your device.
* Reboot into a compatible Android Recovery solution. (Note: We recommend TWRP)
* [b]Please do not[/b] wipe anything, including Cache/Dalvik/ART, the ROM has you covered.
* Select the appropriate ROM zip and flash the current ROM build.
* Reflash any system modifications that do not survive updated (everything that is not addon.d-capable)
* Reboot.
You do not need to wipe Cache/Dalvik.
You do not need to flash Google Apps again*.
You do not need more than 5 minutes.
* Just make sure that you don't wipe system before flashing.
Tested compatibility
Although following things are compatible with halogenOS, we do not provide direct support for it.
Compatible additions are:
ViPER4Android
JamesDSP
Magisk
microG
GApps

Camera is really slow. Not sure if it was tested, but it took 2-3 seconds to take a photo.. is it normal ? or just on my end ?
Also I must add that, although it looked like the Oneplus5 camera, the portrait option was missing

Strange, I used this ROM for testing for 12hr (As I dont upload any ROM w/o testing keeping user experience in mind) and didnt face such issue, but my gapps arent too latest maybe 1month old, but thats not an issue, however, whatever it is, keeping in mind, keep reporting
I'll watch this ROM closely..
I always prefer cleaner, more stock AOSP-like ROMs... And with a few apps as possible. So far, this and Cypher are my favorite Oreo ROMs... These tend to have better memory and battery backups.
Hello guys!
I liked the rom, I noticed some gagging and slowness in the transitions of the screens.
More at least on my Titan, it fared better than RR 6.0.0 in terms of ram memory control, which in my, even optimized was not controlling legal and even stuck a few times.
Regarding ToxicOs, I installed the Kernel Evolution Turbo, and greatly improved those bugs and lags.
I'm really enjoying this Rom and I'm looking forward to the next updates.
Thanks again @thedeadfish59 for the brave warrior endeavor.

I have not tested yet again but I think the culprit is the Dolby atmos for Oreo! I installed EAX and had the same problem, and thanks to a post from @Wolfcity I realized he was to blame.

Hug.

Hello!
I had to change the ROM, as I mentioned above, the evolution kernel improved the performance in relation to the fuidez, but began to drain the battery very quickly, unfortunately, I had to change the ROM and now I put the RR 6.1.0 and say if pass is fine, much improved, at least in my Titan the control of ram memory compared to the last version.
More I'm waiting for updates of the ToxicOs, because it is very promising and I really liked what I saw.
Hugs!!
Vlw warrior thedeadfish59 !!
Beautiful rom, but a lot lag. Thank you very much for your work
I've been using Toxyc yesterday and found the rom to be very nice and interesting, but the rom has a lot of lag, the launcher did not help, I changed the launcher, it improved a bit, I installed the evolution kernel to help, I take it into consideration that it is the first build, I hope the next one might be better for use, the worst of all is that the rom is very promising, the night mode is great, I was really missing that option, the choosing the source was also very accurate, I liked it a lot, gave a new face to rom. Honestly I have no idea what might be the cause of leaving this rom so packed. Perhaps the basis of it is not the best for titan, the launcher is certainly not cool, it has many customizations, but at a very high price.
This is really a great looking rom with tons of features, but like some people reported, I'm also facing a lot of lag. Really hoping for updates here, this will probably be a DD for me if performance can be matched to other roms i tested from the same dev. Keep up your great work man, i really appreciate it, thank you and all.
Just out of curiosity, mind sharing which is your titan device, @thedeadfish59 ?
the rom is very great and it have the essential features,
the ui is a bit lagy and i am getting so many force close and the camera have strange behavior.

- Obviously Samsung's own features such as Samsung Pay, KNOX, Theme Center, Game Launcher, etc. won't be ported to LineageOS. We may have our own implementation to similar functions, though.
- IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to AOSP.
- HWC

Good work!! I'll try this
Well so far it works fine for me no bugs whatsoever only thing is when changing the cool down touch for the hardware buttons (how much time its lit up) i tried to set to 1 sec after touch but it stays at 5 seconds.
also camera quality could be better but its fine too.
Woah, I'll try to make a kernel for the Note 5, nice release, guys with a S6 are lucky.
I'll be waiting on zeroltexx :good:
Anyone able to confirm if the mic works properly in this? For some reason, AOSP ROMs seem to have a really low mic volume on my S6 ?
Yup :'( same on this. Damn it
Calls
Testing it.
Found no bugzzz . First Pie that I can use encryption, safetynet - pass, Gps drive mode works, camera - ok, real smooooth, battery - ok. Great work - Best Pie Rom for now Have to check Bluetooh calls, hope it`s ok too

Did you had call echo issues?
I thought that HWC was already fixed/implemented in LineageOS 15.1 (see changelog here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76640048&postcount=2).
What's wrong with it in LineageOS 16?

calls works fine, found no echo
Tried the rom for a day, sorry I don't have any log files but here are some weird encounters I had.
The proximity sensor would dim the display in-call but the screen would still be functional so it'd be pressed everywhere and cause a mess. Also the picture quality was horrible like if it divided the resolution by 4 and stretched it to fill. This was most noticeable in the gallery and Instagram. Also Instagram videos had the same effect but even worse. I'm now back on stock and can confirm the picture quality was indeed reduced. I tried using the bundled camera app and the s7 gcam port which works on the s6 but both produced mediocre pictures on the rom. This seems to be a common problem with custom roms I assume so if there's a fix to bad camera quality on custom roms, someone please hit me up because I'm stuck on stock for the camera quality only.
Also calls would randomly drop but could just be the network.

Seems like a SELinux policy problem, which is strange, because the ROM is not SELinux enforcing. Any hint how to fix this? a TWRP script perhaps?
EDIT: made it working by switching the app to use "alternate commands"

Has anyone play pubg mobile on this rom? I played on rr6 and fps in game was non stabile
Wifi always ON?
BetterBatteryStats shows WIFI being 100% on, even during sleep. This seems to be the single biggest reason of battery drain.
And this in spite that I have set the WIFI policy to "1" using adb:
Code:
adb shell settings put global wifi_sleep_policy 1
and later checked the current value using
Code:
adb shell settings list global
For comparison, same phone with stock Nougat lost approx 2% a day (flight mode, no BT, no NFC, wifi off during sleep, practically no use). Pie loses 1.5% an hour or more without any use with same settings.
Edit:
Situation is a tad better after turning off WIFI completely, but we're still talking about ~1% / hour. This is still nowhere near Nougat's consumption levels.

Download the MatLog app from the Play Store.
After downloading the MatLog app, go to the app settings, and change the log level to Debug.
Clear all previous logs and take the exact steps to produce the error you are receiving. As soon as you receive the error (probably a force close), go straight into MatLog and stop the log recording.
Copy and paste the entire log either to Hastebin or Pastebin
Save the log, and copy and paste the link into the thread with a brief description of the error.

Hi, thanks for the ROM !
Is everything working fine ?
Fingerprint sensor ? Camera ? Wifi ? VoLTE ? VoWifi ?
Hi
I didn't try but I can already answer about voLTE/voWIFI : no.
Hello, a while ago I installed the ROM and I have seen several ramdom reboots, I do not know what the reason for this can be since I am not using it, it simply has WhatsApp open in multitasking but it is blocked and without use and from time to time it restarts itself. And the Home button does not turn on the screen even with the configuration to do it activated.
This thread was created 5 days ago, how can you have installed this ROM "a while ago" ?
Only issue so far that I've noticed , home button doesn't work to open / wake device, have to always tap screen to wake
Edit: A lot of issues with messages not going through. Switched back, will test when a more stable version is out. 1 or 2 freezes as well.

I'm on 8.5.9 version and home button works now!
I'm currently thinking if I should go for RR or crDroid, both are a good choice
Hello everyone.
I installed 8.5.9 version yesterday and I have to say that it goes very smooth and very fluid.
I still haven't been able to test it thoroughly, but I've customized it quite a bit and I have to say that in 24h I haven't had any freeze or shutdown. Not a single glitch.
Battery consumption is higher than ROM Stock, but I understand that it is normal in custom ROMs.
At least to me since I started at my old S2, it's almost always happened to me. Very rarely have I found a kernel that adjusts consumption.
I found it strange the few users who have commented on this ROM.
I have tried Havoc (some restart and freeze) and Pixel (very little customization).
I certainly stay with RR
Thanks for the job done.
Best regards
This ROM is excellent. No major issues.

Damn it, I just flashed it today! Anyways, thanks for keeping our old powerhouse alive. This ROM is also extremely well performing, no microstuttering of any kind, no overheating, no battery drain, no nothing. Updating to new build now...
EDIT: I'm going back to the previous build. Now this ROM also has microstuttering, it just cannot scroll something at 60FPS smoothly without ever jumping around at least once. anything requiring I/O or quick power state switching makes the device a 55°C stumbling joke, inverted colors that require disabling HW overlays and all the issues of the LineageOS 17.1 ROM. Previous build was so cool and smooth. I am starting to think that rebasing the kernel and blobs was a bad idea this time...am I wrong? It happens on any ROM that contains at least a N935KKKU4CTH1 kernel and Ivan_Meler's new power HAL as per my observation. I do understand that developing on Exynos can be hell on earth, so thank you all.
ROM is looking good from what I´ve seen so far!
Only thing that´s not working for me is the network traffic indicator in the status bar. Seems to be stuck at 0 kb/s all the time even when streaming or downloading.
Wow, impressive ROM. Thanks for that. Only Battery Consumption seems to be a bit high.
Oh, and Fingerprint doesn't work for some Apps but i think that's a general Problem with Android 10, right?

Nevermind. User error.
Thank you.
Hi is it normal to have a bootloader animation that is just a red splash screen? I've' just installed the rom
I tried several CFW (RR 8.6.2, Lineage 17.1, FloydQ) for my Galaxy S7. All of them have the same problem: the fingerprint scanner doesn't work for some (or most?) apps (e.g. Aegis, KeePass Android). I get an error "An error occurred while trying to enable biometric unlock. Some devices have poor implementations of biometric authentication and it is likely that yours is one of them. Consider switching to a password-only configuration instead.". Some apps (e.g. Authenticator Pro) have no problems, unlock with the fingerprint scanner works well.
Hi turbolukex5,
first and foremost: thanks a lot for your work and sharing it with us <3
I am really happy with my reborn S7 and I am definitely keeping your ROM!
Unfortunately I am having echo problems: called some friends today and all of the them reported, that they hear themselves twice / have a echo on their side.
For me everything worked fine, except for the UI crashing twice, but I can live with that. I switched to my headphones and the echo was gone, but "normal" phone calls seem to produce this kind of bug even though you fixed it with the latest 8.6.2 according to your change log.
Just reporting here - maybe others have similar problems.
Thanks a lot and keep up the great work,
C

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Instructions:
Take a backup first from your actual system!
Before instaling, make sure you are running the latest Oreo firmware from the latest HTC Sense.
If you are encrypted but running an AOSP ROM then you're fine. If you come from Sense, take a full backup of all your data, boot into TWRP and format data (the option which requires you to type "yes") and clean flash accordingly. This is due to encryption changes. Do not skip this step or you will be locked out of your system by a password prompt.
If you are coming from any other ROM wiping /system & /data is strongly recommended
Download the latest build and GApps (both links are below).
Reboot to TWRP.
Flash the latest build and magisk ( optional ) after make one reboot.
When system is booted, reboot to TWRP and flash gapps
Reboot and enjoy (as much as currently possible)

Reporting bugs:
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred (please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing).
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg (do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot, a logcat after a reboot is useless).
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved.

Maybe it's better to perfect past ROM's before tackling new ones? They have a lot of problems and things that require improvement, and you again strive to quickly port an actual android with new problems and bugs. Brilliant.

To be sincere @fagyi I'm very happy that you owned this our HTC 10 device, at least we will expect more major update like android 12/13, on this old device. Coming from device that has no community support like galaxy s6 g920p every owner had no choice than to use stock base nougat roms but here is a different story, we have the likes of Fagyi who is working tirelessly to make sure that this device get updated more faster than those popular devices, I think we should be grateful to him.
