I need help, urgent.. twrp is broken - Xiaomi Redmi 5A Questions & Answers

So i was trying to reinstall AOSP extended Rom and my gapps, because the last one was broken and had to many bloatwares... i already advance wipe internal, data, system, cache and dalvik thinggy, after i tried to install it it said cannout mount /system, i searched up on google .. there was this website where it said format data to FAT, i did it, then i realized it just got worst, everything i try to do always ends up with cannot mount /data or either cannot mount /system.. i need help guys, now im stuck at boot logo, adb commands from cmd wont respond...

which twrp version do u use?
did u try 2 flash a newer version of twrp and then flash the rom again?
i think you should not wipe the internal storage partition
at least you can flash the stock rom via mi flashing tool. then u gotta unlock the bootloader and flash twrp via fastboot again. but no worries: you dont have 2 wait 2 unlock the bootloader if you can login in ur mi account and ur account has the permission.
perhaps there is another way i dont know without flashing the stock rom...

If you have CWM's latest recovery then you should be able to flash a different custom rom, boot the phone into recovery and mount USB storage, copy over the new rom, unmount storage and format the system, data, cache and davik cache and then install rom..... you will need to flash the boot.img for the rom from fastboot before it will boot.
If you instructions on going back to stock then look at my sig or look in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1735930&page=3
Edit: Upon doing a quick search it seams that RUU version isn't available yet, only way for you currently is to flash a custom rom.

Thnx for the reply mate, however i am not on a custom firmware..infact i just rooted my phone with one click rooting method and post which the phone was rebooting everytime i was playing any music file.
So i went to the recovery and tried clearing cache/sdcard/system/etc but that didn't help, then i tried formatting the sdcard/system and post that my phone is stuck on the boot screen.
Since then..i've been trying many things, infact i also tried to flash the stock recovery...which happened successfully but sadly the phone did not boot. Man what to do?

You formatted the system partition, which is where all the files for your phone were located (so all the system files have been deleted..... you should have really taken a backup of the phone before doing anything to it); you need to flash the latest CWM recovery from HERE
and then download and install a custom ROM onto your phone as the RUU that you need is not yet available.

for first link: Thats only the "Over The Air" update file, you still need a working stock rom'd phone to flash it.
for second link: That should be fine to install onto your phone once you have the CWM Recovery flashed onto your phone, remember to also flash over the boot.img file before you try and boot the phone.... otherwise it just wont boot

Huawei 8120 refuse to boot up bootloader not working to.

So i was using slyking241 rom for a wile but then i decided to go back to stock rom i followed this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011527 tutorial step by step to reset my phone but when it starts updating it says unpacking and then updating gives na error i tried it multiple time but no luck then i though that i should go back to the 2.3.7 sly rom but it refused to boot up just get the cwm boot screen and endless reboots so i wiped data , cache, dalvik, battery stats but it still wont boot i reflashed the rom still doesnt boot tried 2.2 rom still doesn't boot..(cant past the sand clock icon) the recovery works fine i thought of istalling new recovery but i cant get into bootloader please help.
Thank You
bump
The U8120 hasn't a real bootloader.
You hould flash the phone again!
And I mean fullflash (root the phone, install AmonRA...)
Just like you want to root it.
In my Thread (just click U8120 in signature) you can download the stock rom!
P.S.on't change the recovery after rooting!
Eclair works only with AmonRA
!FORMAT YOUR SDCARD BEFORE TRYING THIS!

[Q] One X still unlock with htcdev, flash radio via fastboot possible?

I have the same question. My HTC ONE X is stuck on flight mode, it's stuck on : "Turning off". This happened after i updated the official phone software a couple of days ago. I have tried everything, even factory reset. But it's still doing the same thing. Do you think flashing the radio fixes this? Is it possible without unlocking the bootloader? Because if this doesn't work, i am going to send the phone back for warrantee. I have only got this phone for 5 days.

Yes, unlocking via htcdev is the only method at the moment if your device isn't already s-off.
And you can flash radio.zip files via a custom recovery.

I know it's a pain but, you should try a factory reset, if that doesn't work I'm afraid you don't really have much choice either root and try flashing a new rom and/radio or send it out for HTC to have q look at.
Sent from my HTC One X
I had a similar problem recently on my stock One X - I had no service and my radio wouldn't turn on. I resolved it by turning off Fast boot (Settings - Power)

I'm wondering a similar thing; can a radio be flashed via Fastboot like you used to on older HTCs?
I have an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery but my SDcard doesn't want to mount in TWRP.

No. What problem are you trying to solve with a new radio?
TWRP and CWM 5.8.4.0 should both be able to mount SD card, are you unable to find the option? Is there an error?

Thought it was a bad flash. After a fresh radio + ROM via TWRP my phone wouldn't boot. Waited 30 or so minutes before performing a hard reset. After rebooting into recovery my SDcard refused to mount no matter what I tried with no way to fix it (wouldn't even wipe).
Kind of a long story but after numerous failed attempts to format it after mounting the SDcard via USB storage on different Windows and Linux machines, I used ADB to push the ROM to the data partition, mounted it as the SDcard and installed it that way. Worked like a charm and after the first boot I was able to format the corrupted SDcard and all was solved.

if you can get into your bootloader try flashing a boot.img and then try and flash the modules of the kernel you choose... and before that fastboot erase cache and then flash boot.img

If you flash using odin then no your internal storage won't be affected, however to get it to boot up you might need to do a wipe data/factory reset from recovery (doesn't delete the photos/files on internal memory card) otherwise it will just bootloop. Are you able to see anything on the screen at all?

I did root successfully to install dn4 rom. then i tried installing dn4 rom with twrp 2.3, which was latest updated. but not successfull. it gave error status 7. then read on some forum that new version is needed, so I flashed twrp 2.7. Right okay, well in that case I don't think you'd need to do a wipe, just try flashing it like that and see what happens.

You can use download mode and flash a stock rom and then try doing this whole procedure again. I believe you need to be on 4.3+ bootloader in order for it to work properly. Did you do a wipe data/factory reset before flashing the rom or not?
not done
Hi. Thanks for reply.
I flashed stock rom 4.4 from Samsung website. Then tried the whole thing again. It boots this time then displays new animated logo like note4. Plays the sound and then does not not further. I am now stuck on stock 4.4 rom
