Widevine L1 can't be specific to Pocophone! - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

I saw the hundreds of threads & posts about the Pocophone not having L1 Widevine & in response they have now said on more than one occasion that the Pocophone will receive L1 support, then today on XDA they included this screenshot from Twitter.
In my opinion, if the Pocophone does receive (somehow) L1 then other Xiaomi phone's have to be given it to such as the Mix 2s & Mix 3
How'd do you guys feel about it?

schould be also possible for the much better mi mix 3.. can someone tell xiaomi?

Pocophone now has L1 support, surely they will not miss out Mix 3 & Mi 9?!

Tried searching on Google and change.org but I can't find it.
There's this thread on miui.com https://en.miui.com/thread-4513512-1-1.html
But we're probably gonna get screwed because the Mix 3 5G version will most likely have Widevine L1. I doubt they're gonna update our device to L1. I hope I'm wrong though!

any word if mi mix 3 will support Widevine L1?

performance wise, it is pretty much the same. not really an upgrade. except you want to upgrade the screen size & front camera.
The Mi6 was/is an extremely fast, extremely smooth phone.
Where the 5T excels is that the screen is larger, it's amoled, the developer community Annnnnd updates are unparalleled.
However... The Mi 7 is on the horizon.
The main reason to go for one plus is for better roms and development.
I'm just surprised Mi 6s hasn't been announced yet.
Btw which has a better camera?
of course 5T all the way. I mean if money is not my problem, I'll go for 5T. The only advantage of mi6 from 5T is using the same processor and cheaper.

miui doesn't support camera 2 api without root and as before you can't rely agood camera from miui, with modded google camera i can turn crappy redmi note 4 camera into a beast. but until now google does not have dual camera phone then there is not much option for dual camera phones.
i heard that 5T camera isn't good as 5, maybe future software update can solve it.
3T camera also seems pretty broken, camera cant focus properly.
Mi 6 is performing great and I cannot see any problems with the camera.
I should have the OP5T in a few days time. Will do a camera and speed test comparison on my channel (see my sig)

I think you do not know what you're talking about, the Xiaomi Mi6 does not envy an op5t at all and plays in the same league, in fact the ceramic version of the Mi6 is a luxury, it's as fast as the oppo
I'll have Mi 6 (miui ROM) vs op5t speed test video hopefully up tonight/tomorrow morning on my YouTube channel.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3

I know there is no English/International version for now, but let's have a discussion about this new band. What about you, guys? Will you buy it, will you use it?
Any idea of the US release date?
The only information that I have found for now is that intentional release might be sometimes in September.
Unofficial English Firmware for Mi Band 3 is available now. Details on Reddit in r/miband/ subreddit (I am a new XDA user and not able to post external links)
I am developer of it, so feel free to ask any questions and report any problems.
Here is the link you wanted to give with that unofficial english firmware: https://www.reddit.com/r/miband/comments/8r88c7/unofficial_english_firmware_for_mi_band_3/

I have some question. I see that there are problems with the news. They look ugly. Polish sentences the same. This is due to the Polish signs "Ś, Ż Ć", etc. Instead of some letters there are "?, []", Etc. In English messages it's the same.
Will this be corrected in the unofficial software? Or we have to wait for the official release of the software?
Is there a chance for a Polish language? I can translate from English

I would like to know when Mi Tools will support Band 3
Just got mine! The difference in brightness is just amazing as you can see in the photo. I have installed the English firmware without a problem.
Ive had mine for about a week now. Upgraded the firmware to english throught the miuim.com website forum with the edited mi fit app. It was super easy, downloaded the app, it updated the bad to English, then reinstalled the official app.
Highly recommend the band. So much more it can do than the 2 which i had for 3 years

Still worth to buy Mi Mix 2 in late 2018?

Hello guys,
I'm thinking about getting a replacement for my old redmi note 2 and looking for Mi Mix 2. Can get it for about 250 bucks.
Is it a good choice for everyday use?
Other phones I'm looking for are Xiaomi A2 and Xiaomi Redmi note 6 Pro .
Thanks for your opinions

kind of a design way as there are no much differences in everyday usage. Of course it is more powerful with better camera, but personally I would prefer the look and the feel of a Mix 2
For me, yes. Mine satisfy to use Mix 2 on November 2018.
Honestly I want to say yes but I just have to say no. Drop a little more cash and get yourself a Mix 2S or a Mi8. The Mix 2 is nice but the Snapdragon 845 is more future proof and the Mix 2 camera was okay'ish when the device came 12 months ago so it's not ageing well. Here's my advice: spend that little more extra cash to get the better cam & performance

Andoid One 10 discussion thread.

Last generation Android Pie was launched on August 8 and around November 27 the Mi A2 Lite received the Pie update. This year, Android 3 is rumored to launch on September 3 and would probably come to Mi A2 Lite in the following months.
Will you upgrade the day it launches or will you wait a while longer before updating?
In this thread we will discuss news, bugs and solutions for the new upcoming Android 10 update.
Update:
Android 10 was finally launched and updates for Pixel devices started rolling out. Also, Xiaomi is not far behind releasing day one update for the Xiaomi K20 Pro (MIUI//China//India).
Since MIUI is a heavy skinned Android version we can't be sure yet about any bugs in Android 10 for the Android One program. Stay tuned.
Bugs:

Features:
Live Caption - Live Caption automatically captions videos, podcasts, and audio messages—even stuff you record yourself.

With this phone, I think I've been in the lucky part of users (never had big bug or blocking issue all along updates)
But I will definitely do the same as for Android 9 :
Wait at least one or two weeks, and use this time for browsing forums likes XDA before taking a decision...
And I agree with you, system wide dark mode seems to be the more interesting feature (with native screen recording)
As i love Always to test new
I'll install the new os when it release
I will since I'm hoping they fix a bug in which the bluetooth and the wi-fi can't work together because wi-fi slows.

I never experienced that bug in Android Pie. I always keep both on since Bluetooth connects to my smartwatch and car and I never bother turning off wi-fi. Wi-Fi works normal at decent speeds.
Mi A2 Lite 4/64 model.
Any idea if enabled Camera2 API will survive the update to Android 10?
How about the prior update from Oreo to Pie with enabled Camera2 API? Does it still work afterwards?
I strongly hope they fixed all those Bluetooth issues
Has anybody installed the GSI?

That's just like... uhm, your opinion. This is a discussion thread and ... guess what, people discuss.
The K20 Pro received the Android One 10 update on September 24. The K20 runs on Android One unlike the 9T which runs on MIUI.
This means that the Android One 10 is now ready, it just needs to be tweaked for every supported Android One device. As we see until now, the Mi A2 will get it first, about 1-2 weeks prior to the Mi A2 Lite. That's what we have to check out, the global version of Mi A2 official forums.
For example the screen rotation glitch was knows 2 weeks prior from we getting it on our Lites. When we got our update, surprise, the screen rotation glitch... And it took them 1 more increment to fix that problem for both devices.

And where is the beta program? It has not started yet. An update without it is unlikely.
On the global MIUI forum (also from customer support) there was information that Android 10 will appear for us in November. If the beta program starts in October, it will be likely.
It should be remembered that MI A3 will have a priority in update, and the beta program did not start for this model.

Android 10 had a Google beta program, not OEM beta program. Xiaomi was in the program from the beginning. The Android 10 Beta Program ended in August with Beta 6.
