Ringtones settings - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with the sound settings.
When i go to change the ringtone for calls, sms, alarm etc it shows the mp3 files that i have in my phone and not the stock ringtones menu of the device.
I clicked that option accidentally the first time i went in the sound settings, and i can't undo it.
Is there a way to see the ringtone menu again?
Thanks!

Message Vibrate Not Working

I've been running the latest CM7 nightlies for a while now and starting about a week ago, the vibrate function stopped working when I received text messages. I use Chomp SMS and I've changed the settings in there, in the standard messaging app, and in the general sounds category in settings. The phone still vibrates for everything else - games, alarms, phone calls, etc.
Any ideas? I'd rather not have to do a full reset.

Did you change the notification settings in the stock messaging app?
Messaging > menu > settings > notification settings > vibrate > "vibrate always"
Yes I did that. Any other ideas?

Shot in the dark, are you using the notifications drop-down power widgets? I had an issue a while back that when I used those to adjust the volume/vib/silent toggle, it would turn off vibrate in the global settings when moving back and forth between "vibrate" and "all sounds on".
Just make sure that your global settings are correct and then dont change anything then test the notification with an incoming SMS.
Other than that I'm out of ideas.
I tried changing the global settings again and in the process realized that it vibrates now when the phone is set to "silent" mode, but when I turn on the volume again the vibrate goes away. I set every single notification setting I could find to vibrate always so this is super confusing.

Try setting up a notification power widget. And under 'widget buttons' scroll all the way down to 'sound modes' and select one of the options where the first one is "sound+vibrate". Toggle to this mode from the notification pull-down and see if that toggles it. (I personally use 'Sound+Vib/Vib/Silent').
I found that the stock settings and CMsettings often mess eachother up.
I ended up flashing back to a backup from 2 weeks ago - it was worth the time because the vibrate settings are completely back to normal. Thanks for the help, though, I'll keep it in mind for future reference in case this happens again.

Facebook notifications

Is anyone else experiencing issues with push notifications on our device i have never had one on stock or cyan has anyone got it to work???
Notifications show up on my lock screen but no alert or sound to tell me that they have arrived?
Go to the main screen where you can access your news feeds, profile, friends, chat, messages etc and press the menu button to get into settings.
Once there turn on anything you want to be alerted for and set a ringtone for it.

Gmail Notification Using Ringtone When Set to Silent

Hi, I have a Gmail account setup on my GN, which is set to show a notification icon, but the notification sound is set to silent. Even so, when I get an email it sounds my ringtone (not even my default notification sound!).
The only way to stop this is to turn off new mail notifications completely, which means I don't even get an icon, so I'm constantly opening my gmail to see if I've received anything.
Does anyone else have this problem, or am I doing something wrong?
Hi, I have been trying to do the same thing but no luck. How did you turn off the gmail sound notifications in the first place? I looked everywhere.
By the way there must be a way we can control all the incoming notifications. I would like them to be displaying but silently. How is this achievable?
Hi, I thought this thread had been forgotten about!
I bodged mine in the end, thus:
1. Go to gmail and use the menu to go to 'settings',
2. Select the email address you want to configure,
3. Tick the email notifications checkbox,
4. Tap 'Ringtones & Vibrate',
5. Select silent for ringtone and vibrate only in silent mode.
(now the bodge)
6. Go to the phone settings screen and select 'Sound',
7. Set vibrate to never.
Told you it was a bodge! If you find a better way, please let me know

[Q] Cyanogenmod 7.1.0 changing text message tone

Hi,
I installed Cyanogenmod 7.1.0 on my HTC Desire.
But I can't change my text message phone anymore. Normally, you can simply change it with settings -> sounds -> notification tone or messages -> settings -> notification tone, but even when I changed that it stayed the same.
I also tried Tone Picker from the Play Store but it still didn't change my text message tone. I choose the tone on an older ROM from Cyanogenmod so maybe that's the reaseon?
I really want to change it, because I'm getting annoyed by that sound
Does somebody know the answer?
thx
Open Messaging App
Press Menu
Choose Settings
Then Notifications (It should be checked)
Followed by Notification Settings
Select Ringtone
Done
I already did that, but it still stays the same

Well that's not the thing you said you did on your original post. Anyway, if it didn't work, full wipe and flash again.

[Q] Some issues with CM7.2

I am facing a couple of issues that I can't find a solution to it, so I thought I share them with you hoping that you can help me solve them.
When I receive an email there comes a notification sound (which is ok ) but if I delete the same message from my laptop that I had just received, the notification sound once again appears. This happens everytime regardless if I receive or delete any messages.
When browsing with the installed browser or Delphin browser, when I want to return to the previous page, it brings me back to the top of that page and not to the place where I was reading that page. The topic I was reading could have been at the middle of that page and I want the browser to bring me back to the same place as I was.
I can't find the place to disable the notification sound, last time I did it was for couple of months ago, I guess it was in: Setting ->Cyanogenmode setting -> and Interface. I need to disable it as I sometimes receive emails in the middle of night and is driving me crazy.
thanks in advance
I dont think you can disable the notifications, but with cm you can set silent hours in wich ur phone will shut up.
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda app-developers app
But I am sure that I disabled the notifocation once, but just can't find it again

You can disable the notification sound by going into Settings -> Sound -> Notification ringtone, and selecting silent (at the top).
Or go to Settings -> Sound -> Volume, uncheck use incoming call volume for notifications, and set notification volume to 0.

disabled the notification sound by choosing none ringtone.
anyone have an idea for solving two other issues?
