Hey i just wonder: - Nokia 5.1 Questions & Answers

Ok so i have nokia 5.1 and when i plug usb to pc and phone
This pc shows internal memory (where your photos music etc is located)
and then it shows "cd rom (E: ) cdrom" and it had setup.exe and bunch of other files in that "cdrom".
When i try install setup.exe it wont do anything just nothing
I am pretty sure that it is Nokia pc software but it just wont install to my pc at all...
Either setup.exe is broken or it is not compatible with win10 for some reason... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

android phone driver

ok i been away for a week , got back to mine turned me com on and plugged me phone in to upload some pics and its telling me that android phone driver needs installing , which is weird coz its never said that before , ok it just says insert disk (i dont have one ) , and it automatically searches but cant find a solution . in device manager i can see android phone with yellow triangle with a ! inside it . can someone tell me how to fix this .. im on vista btw
Maybe your driver is corrupt.
You should install the newest Google USB drivers. If you installed ADB to your computer, you can start SDK Manager and within you have to choose Available packages/Third Party addons/Google USB driver package. You have to tick the box and install the drivers.
The drivers will be put to (in case of Windows) ...\android-sdk-windows\google usb driver folder. Now you have to install manually the drivers to work. If you select automatic or search in folder method, windows won't find the drivers. You have to choose it manually. If you have linux I can't help you.

What am I missing......?

So I recently reformatted my computer and returned my phone back to stock. I now cannot ADB to it, I'm running Windows 7 64bit.
I've downloaded and installed the Java JDK, Android SDK, Samsung Drivers (32bit and 64bit) also tried drivers directly from Samsungs site.
Under device manager it shows they are installed correctly, my phone is in debugging mode as well. I don't have anything in my device manager that shows I'm missing a driver for any device.
One thing I have noticed... is in device manager I seem to remember seeing an "ADB..... something" or another.... I don't show that, but I do see my device listed, just not ADB in front of it.
Another odd thing is when I try to mount my SD card, windows doesn't pop up with a removable disk drive.
I'm going crazy... any suggestions?

When you say mount your SD card, I assume you mean from within your phone? In which case, your phone is not recognizing properly, and your SD card won't mount when the phone is connected by usb, correct?
Well, you claim that the software is set up properly on the computer and the phone so it should be ready to interface... Here's a few suggestions I can give from this point:
1. Try all your computer's usb ports
2. Uninstall and reinstall all Samsung software and Device Manager Drivers
3. Try a new usb cable
4. Try a different computer (to determine if the problem lies within the phone)
4-1. If a different computer has no luck, boot into download mode (1 + power) and try reflashing your phone if possible
Odin did the trick! Thank you good sir!

firstly uninstall PC Companion restart PC then download last version install it and restart PC again now check if your PC will see the phone activate usb debugging
also disable firewall (just for the moment do not leave your PC with firewall inactive)

I think here is a problem...
It means
1.maybe path is not set
2.you do not have adb installed
I will assume you do not have adb tool so install Android SDK
then look for adb.exe in the location of sdk folder it can be ~\Program Files
or C:\Android\android-sdk look in \platform-tools folder for adb.exe
now open cmd.exe in this folder and enter "adb devices"
previously activate USB debugging on the phone
you should get an answer like
"1234567890ABCDEF devices" or some like this
now PC Companion should see your phone
if not restart PC and phone and try again
check installed apps on phone do you have a firewall on phone i.e. avast! Mobile Security?
what about installed applications uninstall tools/tweaker apps
USBDeview
I have installed USBDeview and my results is
USB Device USB Device Unknown No No No No 4 21/06/2012 21:59:48 21/06/2012 21:59:48 0fce 2138 1.00 00 00 00 USB\Vid_0fce&Pid_2138\4
done it
android-sdkD:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb devices
adb server is out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *
List of devices attached
It still wont connect to pc companion
Unknown device and USB Device came up in device manager

download here after this restart pc and try adb devices
I bet this is final step at least
to add adb drivers do like this
Connect device to PC
Enter Device Manager
Locate and expand Android Phone/ unknown device in the right pane.
Right-click Android Composite ADB Interface and select Update Driver.
This will launch the Hardware Update Wizard.
Select Install from a list or specific location and click Next.
Select Search for the best driver in these locations;
un-check Search removable media; and check Include this location in the search.
Click Browse and locate the USB driver folder you just downloaded (extract .zip file)
Click Next to upgrade the driver.
also look here something like this
on some phones adb drivers are included with sync software (PC Companion/ Kies etc) in your case you need to download as a separate package it seems...

But I really want a better rom for my Defy+ (Here in Brazil the original phones roms come with a of @#$% and bugs), then I installed the custom rom once again. My computer still not recognizing the phone, and there's just no message of "installing drivers" or any error banner at my Windows 7.
I tought it could be the usb debugging option at settings but turn it on or off just change nothing. I still with no acess to sd card from my computer :/.
Sorry for any english error. Hope someone can help me. Love you all.
1. Sry for my bad english
2. Open the Windows Device-Manager
3. RightClick on the nonworking USB-Defy-Device
4. Choose "Search for drivers on computer"
5. Now you are able to chose the driver from a device-list, which is offered by windows
6. then chose "USB Mass Storage Device"
7. everything will work fine
//EDIT: Your phone must be connected as USB-Mass Storage!
DON!
Succes! Thank you so much!

[Q] Cannot connect A1 to Windows7 PC

I tried to connect my phone to PC (windows 7) via USB as MTP but as soon as i initiate the transfer it gets failed and PC does not show my SD card!!
HELP!!
Go to your device manager, and delete driver if driver mentiones ADP (or ADB). Driver should mention MTP.
After deleting driver, restart PC and connect phone again, it will re-install driver, and phone SD card should be displayed in PC File browser.
