If I buy a Galaxy S9 today (the T-Mobile version), will I be able to root it? - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hello!
I am considering buying a Galaxy S9 today. I want to keep it on Oreo if possible due to wanting to use GravityBox. However, it is the T-Mobile version of the phone. Does this make a difference? I know with the Google Pixel you cannot unlock the bootloader if it is the Verizon version of the phone. Was just wondering if this is the case here with the T-Mobile version of the Galaxy S9. Thanks so much in advance.

Can't root any american s9's.

Welp Samsung just lost my business

You can root the european ones though, you can find them on ebay easily.

I'm in the US and my Exynos S9 came in the mail today and it already has the Pie update and will be rooted as soon as I get home. I recommend everyone buy the Exynos versions when possible.

Unlocked Galaxy S9 Question

Hello guys,
I did see that the Galaxy s9 / s9 plus is cheaper through Samsung or through Best Buy Friday. The phone that is cheaper is the unlocked version that works with any carrier including Verizon which I get. My question is will the unlocked version work with, or have a way to download Verizon Visual Voicemail, and will it work? Appreciate the feedback.
I had an unlocked S7 and could never get visual voicemail to work. I'm not sure if anything has changed.

TMobile to International

Just like with the 6T and 7, we were able to use the One Plus tool to turn tmobile rom to the international rom. I can buy the 7T today from tmobile and was wondering if someone is working on that tool for the 7T yet? you all are wondering why I don't just buy directly from One Plus? I pay for all big purchases in cash and that means buying through tmobile.
I had to buy the T-Mobile variant as well because I'm a T-Mobile employee and get a $300 rebate for doing so, so I'm looking forward to this as well! I remember being surprised at how quickly it came out for the 7 Pro.
Just bought my TMobile 7t and was wondering the same thing pretty sure the international version is already on version 10.0.4

Also T-Mobile's version numbers seem to have no correlation to the international versions. I remember with the 7 Pro T-Mobile was on a number that was like two higher than the international but it was like four versions behind.

I just checked my current build and its 10.0.3 on my t-mobile OP 7T
I currently have the OP 7Pro Sim unlocked running the international software. I’ve been running the developer preview of Android 10 since day 1. I was able to update using Oxygen Update when OnePlus released the OTA. The One Plus phones are as close as I can get to a Nexus. I miss the Nexus line. I remember the pure Google experience for a fraction of the cost
I’m not turning in my OP 7 Pro until I can flash to international. If I decide to switch to the 7T below are the gains and the loss:
First I’ll lose 128 GB of storage but I’ll gain face unlock, finger print sensor. I don’t like to use the face unlock with the 7 Pro because the camera has to pop up.
Oh yeah one other thing the last time I checked, the 7T has a brighter display then the 7 PRO. I have issues with view the display in sun light. Ugh!? Hats off to Samsung their displays are super bright ?
I had the International phone but I drop it had to get insurance replacement and it was a t-mobile branded phone
trying to get the back to International

I would reach out and have them correct that. Having a T-Mobile branded phone when you paid for an international isn't right. This link will help you convert that device into an International one.

Is there a Galaxy S20+ 5G (international)? If not what version is US new. I want OEM unlock.

Where can I buy a Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus (International Version) if there is one and does it work with At&t 5G.
If not it is fine. What version will it come with if I get the US version (New) as I want to get it OEM unlock. On that note, wonder how much the service is to unlock the boatloader. Prefer to buy it on Amazon from a safe seller if possible. Thanks for any and all info.
Probably nowhere. AT&T is becoming increasingly hostile towards Samsung phones they don't sell, especially those not intended for the US market: https://www.att.com/idpassets/images/support/wireless/Devices-Working-on-ATT-Network.pdf.
I don't think there is any reliable way to know what bootloader/software versions will arrive on a phone before you receive it; the versions shipped seem to quietly advance based on production date.

You can't root any of the NA versions.
I bought the SM-901E[/DS], it's a snapdragon variant, root able but does not work on CDMA carriers in the US

Question Best Samsung Device to root

I currently have a S22 but cannot root it. I'm in the U.S. so it is a U.S. version. Which Samsung phone is the best in the U.S. that can be rooted? I hate the S22. I had a s9+ before but it broke and I got talked into trading it for the S22 by Samsung. I would have been better just buying another S9+ from eBay or Facebook. Anyway I digress. If I get rid of the S22 which would be the best/easiest Samsung phone to root?
Thanks

some s22 models can be rooted
I believe (per other conversations) that the U.S. version cannot be rooted. If you know of a way please post it because several U.S. users would like to know how.
