root and unlock bootloadrr - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi!
I buy this phone today. I am familiar with root and install twrp but on Samsung devices. This is my first xaomi phone.
Can someone help me to unlock this bootloader and install twrp and custom ROM.
Is it possible to do this without PC? I don't have PC i and I want to do that without PC?
What is the first thing that I need to do?

You can't unlock it without PC neither to install TWRP. First you need to bind your Mi account to phone then to proceed with Xiaomi unlocking tool. Currently they give authorization to unlock after 360 hours following the 1 step.

[Q] Can I root without unlock the bootloader or to locked it again?

Hello guys, sorry because may be this is the 50th time someone ask this question but the situation change every day. Yesterday I won from lottery and decide to go from G3 to G4. My model is European H815, I want to ask you can I root G4, change the recovery and e.t.c. without unlocking the bootloader? And also if I unlocked it is their any way to locked it again or to use my warranty? Thank you!!
well you can only root using low effort root(google it or find it here ) But to change recovery you have to unlock bootloader
No there is no way confirmed to relock your bootloader
GOOD LUCK
Thank you! If I root by this way and download Flashify and try to change recover what will happen ? Thank you!
without bootloader unlocked nothing will chnage ( recovery wont be installed ) and when you reboot your phone it will get u error (authentication error #9) as i remember and you will have to flash new firmware using lg flash tool 2014 so i dont recommend you do so
if u wanna change recovery unlock ur bootloader
you are welcome anytime
I did not get it, I hope you can light me up:
1. Doing root using low effort root means rooting without unlocking bootloader? (because I flew over the thread and did not read anything about it)
2. If I do unlock Marshmallow's bootloader, what happens when I downgrade to Lollipop via flashing proper KDZ? (I would guess that the unlocked bootlader will be overwritten!? So flashing Marshmallow again would end up in a locked bootloader, doesn't it?)
thanks
You can root lollipop without unlocking bootloader but with marshmalow you can't, you have to unlock the bootloader.
You need an unlocked bootloader for custom recovery.
Bootloader unlocking is a one way operation , you can't go back.

Here One Click Bootloader Unlock
Your usb debugging must enable, and allow when prompted at phone screen.
Dont forget to install minimal adb also, you can search forum.
Also driver dont forget install.
But first please try apk below first.
And I tried out the apk and fail unlock. I'll try again with the xq program I want to install a rom
Yess try unofficial one click unlock instead official one because official one recorded to asus server and void warranty when you relock.
as I can tell if the phone is unlocked. use one click to unlock bootloader. but I can not ride the recovery when I put it in bootloader. I would not dectecta pc with adb devices

First all of you have to unlock your bootloader , just Google the xioami unlock tool, then create an account ,after that you will have to make a request to xiaomi unlocking your bootloader maybe after 1-days your good to go , to unlock bootlook you have to enable developer options on your phone by tapping the build version on settings-about phone / then after that click on oem unlocking then go to - device status - click on add device -enter your xiaomi account- connect your phone to PC and that press and hold powe+vol up button to enter fastboot mode and oh ! O need to install also xioami drivers first to your PC before connecting it , after that fastboot thing you will see your phone on mi unlocking app then click on unlock device then viola , after unlocking you need to install custom recoveries like the famous TWRP then next step is rooting after you install twrp just flash the superSu binaries or majisk
Just Google it my friend I'm you can do it I'm lazy in explaining step by step sorry

Help with rooting of honor 8 pro

Hi everyone.
I have honor 8 pro (DUK) which has locked bootloader and yes I know it is not possible (officially) to unlock it. I have read several threads which state that unlocking bootloader is not necessary to root your mobile. Ok that was interesting, so I have searched all alternative methods of rooting which does not require unlocking bootloader, but none of them helped.
Attempts I made:
1. Many guides show to root the device via twrp. Flashing twrp requires unlocking bootloader, so out of options.
2. Tried to flash the twrp image via adb command but i get the message 'Command not allowed'. The obvious reason could be the locked bootloader.
3 Tried with Kingoroot and King root, none of them helped.
4. Magisk is unable to flash the magisk.zip file (I don't know why) and hence unable to use magisk as well.
Any other methods to root my device. Please help me dear developers and members. I don't want any custom ROM, all I need is to root my device.
Thank You.
Following. After Huawei/Honor decided not to provide the bootloader unlocking. I do not think we can and now there is no development for this handset at all.
Yeah and its sad that we are stuck here.

Question Unlock bootloader without mobile network

Hello, i have this issue. I have trouble with my phone. It doesn't recognize any simcard anymore. I installed a new sim-tray no solution. I want to try to downgrade the MIUI system or flash a custom ROM to try if this helps, but the bootlocker is locked. I tried to unlock, have a Xiaomi account but can't unlock it. I have to add phone via devlopper tools-->mi unlockstatus but this only works with mobile data and not with wifi. The phone is listed in my Xiaomi account. Is there an other way to unlock the bootloader ??? Or anyone knows a solution ?

You always need mobile data to unlock bootloader in Mi phones.
hey,
if the phone is listed in your xiaomi account it may just work.
you can always try it, grab that miunlock tool and login with your phone number+pass, boot the phone into the android/mibuny page and see if the tools lets you proceed without doing the devtools part.
