VoLTE on Phh-treble ROM - Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Questions & Answers

Got my Mi Max 3 in December. Registered in Xiamoi, waited for 360 hours to get the bootloader unlocked. Then rooted it, installed TWRP, upgraded to EU pie beta rom and finally upgraded to Havoc 2.0 phh-treble Pie rom .
The biggest problem from me is that VoLTE does not work. Have been trying to fix for past 10 days. Though I have not fully succeeded, my findings are as follows:
1. VoLTE/VoWifi related options itself have to be enabled on the UI.
For this I edited the files (use es explorer) /System/build.prop
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.vt_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.wfc_avail_ovr=1
persist.radio.rat_on=combine
persist.radio.data_ltd_sys_ind=1
persist.radio.data_con_rprt=1
persist.radio.calls.on.ims=1
persist.sys.cust.lte_config=true
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.radio.volte.dan_support=true
persist.data.iwlan=1
persist.data.iwlan.enable=true
persist.data.iwlan.ipsec.ap=1
persist.radio.calls.on.ims=1
persist.radio.data_con_rprt=1
persist.dbg.vt_avail_ovr=1
/Vendor/default.prop
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.radio.videopause.mode=1
persist.data.iwlan.enable=true
2. Run ims service, by installing ims.apk file.
3. Checked with service provider that the APNs are correct. I am on Airtel.
4. Swapped my sim with another sim. VoLTE did not work. So the problem is with the device.
5. The current status is that the ims service is not running. See the screenshot.
To summaries, one has to fix three aspects to get VoLTE/VoWfi:
1. From service provider -> Ensure correct setting are present.
2. At user interface level -> By editing the prop file.
3. IMS registration -> This is still not working. The mbn needs to support the service provider.
Has anyone managed to fix this? For me no VoLTE is a deal breaker and if it does not get enabled, I will shift to EU ROM. I am on 4G and when I receive/make calls, the network switches back to 3G. This network switching has an annoying lag. :crying:

There's another issue you need to address.
GSIs use CAF's VoLTE implementation afaik which (again... just from what I read) isn't compatible with Qualcomm's proprietary implementation.

I moved to Xiaomi.eu rom. Did the same setup listed above. Did not see VoLTE.
Inserted Jio sim and VoLTE started working!
I asked Airtel and they categorically refused to give me VoLTE. Folks, also please check that your service provider has enabled VoLTE.

[Q] Enable VoLTE (Carrier VOLTE Update)

ROM: Resurrection Remix Nougat Final
Carrier: Idea 4G, India
Device: i9195
I have flashed magisk modules VoLTE and VoWIFI enabler. Within the telephony hidden menu (*#*#4636#*#* in dialer, then in the phone information) it shows VoLTE provisioning is enabled. But still can't get incoming or outgoing calls on LTE only mode. The phone call gets disconnected automatically. Is there any way to get VoLTE? Does it require any carrier specific OTA update? The sim card supports calls in other VoLTE phones.

Vowifi and volte on orange FR network

Hi and happy new year,
I manage to get volte and vowifi working on orange FR on my XZ1 compact by flashing oem.sin from XZ1 orange firmware. But the support had to manually activate it for my line.
The problem is that after few days my phone refuse to use volte or vowifi. I contacted the support again, they reactivated manually the service and it has been working for some days and stopped again...
I think they are restricting the service per device so that it's working for the XZ1 and not for the XZ1 compact. I don't know how my phone is identifying itself on the network but would it be possible to pass as an XZ1 instead of an XZ1 compact ? And if possible how ?
Thanks...

I had play about yesterday trying to get volte working. I'm on O2 and still on Oreo and my Current Modem Config in service menu/software info up until yesterday was using amss_fsg_lilac_tar.mbn. I tried the method of flashing an oem.sin as suggested from another region but still couldn't get it work.
I couldn't find an O2 branded Oreo fw so I download an O2 Pie rom from Xperifirm and tried the oem.sin from that, which worked for all of 5 mins before I had to start over because of "phone not responding" message popping up as soon as I'd dismissed it.
Long story short after some testing, I replaced the config.prop as is and modified the cust.prop in oem/system-properties and and replaced the modem.conf in oem/modem-config now volte works, and shows it is now using amss_fsg_lilac_telefonica_uk_ims_tar.mbn in Current Modem Config. My Customization Version and Active Customization has also changed from 1311-0104_R22B to 1310-7514_R2C.
EDIT:
Not sure about vowifi as there is no indication if it's being used when wifi is active.

FAQ:
Q: How to know if VoWiFi is working ?
A: Put phone in airplane mode and reactivate WiFi only. If you are able to make a call then VoWiFi is working.

I tried this and it worked. In normal mode the icon to indicate vowifi comes up after 30 seconds or so.
I've also added the following to my build.prop.
Code:
#voLTE_Options
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.vt_avail_ovr=1
persist.data.iwlan.enable=true
persist.dbg.wfc_avail_ovr=1
persist.radio.rat_on=combine
persist.radio.data_ltd_sys_ind=1
persist.radio.data_con_rprt=1
persist.radio.calls.on.ims=1
After flashing oem.sin from orange XZ1 firmware my modem config is
amss_fsg_lilac_france_volte_vowifi_tar.mbn
And my customization version went from 1310-8853_47.2.A.11.228_R4C to 1310-4288_47.2.A.11.228_R11C.
I also have the system menu to turn on vowifi ...
All of this looks OK and was perfectly working after they manually activate the service.
The problem is that only the XZ1 is supported by Orange and not the XZ1 compact...
So the service stopped working after a few days... And I'm stuck there...
Try using the amss_fsg_lilac_ee_ims_tar.mbn config file instead. Isn't that who Orange operates on?

I misspelled the modem config I curently use, it's amss_fsg_lilac_orange_france_volte_vowifi_tar.mbn so I think I'm good with that...
They probably activate/deactivate automatically the service by looking at IMEI/ESN number and extracting the phone model...

I'd try an oem.sin from the same device and change the modem.config to either orange_spain_ims or orange_romania_ims to see if that helps. Google "ims volte" to see why.
Failing that, not sure what else to suggest. If they are actively blocking based on imei, I'd look to change carrier.

Question WiFi Calling and VoLTE on OOS 12.0.0.0

After updating to OOS 12.0.0.0 WiFi Calling and VoLTE are gone. Does anyone also have this problem? has someone been able to fix it?
I feel differently - WiFi calling and volte started working after update (EU version). I did factory reset after update.

this is a known problem
For me, VoWifi is working but VoLTE and 5G is not.
OnePlus logkit is not working anymore.
*#*#4636#*#* is not working either.
Since codebase merged with ColorOS, EngineeringMode is changed to *#899# but it has limitation (login required) now.
Maybe we can open it with setprop persist.sys.adb.engineermode 1 but root is required.
5G test switch is *#54794824#
In NL I got the following results upgrading from OOS 11 to 12 without factory reset:
* OOS11:
5G for both KPN and Vodafone NL
VoLTE+VoWiFi for both KPN and Vodafone NL
* OOS12:
VoWiFi for Vodafone NL
VoLTE for both KPN and Vodafone NL
VoWiFi for KPN
5G, also both KPN and Vodafone NL

I didn't find a way for direct contact, so I reply you here. Do you now any way to use qpsp on op9 pro? I just moved from color os to oxygen (after doing it the other way around) and I just have asian bands, so I want to re enable the ones I lost during the change (and enable 5G also)
here i´m to wait for this..
is there any way to activate volte provision (grey out) on OOS12/ColorOS12? tried installing the old logkit apk but it says conflict with an existing package and reboot to FTM does only reboot to the OS.
Was anyone able to do this without factory reset? I don't want to loose everything

only solution right now for A12 for carriers with Volte not working by default is to root the device and flash a module to activate the Volte.

Question Poco F3 MIUI global 13.0.7 : VoLTE and VoWIFI activation

Hi,
I don't have the Volte and vowifi options in the settings menu. So i tried the *#*#.... and nothing happen.
Otherwise i fond this phone to have a bad reception and difficult to phone with, so vowifi is a solution for me
when i'm at home.
Thanks in advance.
VoLTE *#*#86583#*#*
VoWIFI *#*#869434#*#*
use miui dialer or google phone
Thanks,
Already tried codes but i don't have the Miui dialer ont the global version and don't find a way to install it.
Open Modem test tools by using *#*#663368378#*#* code in dialer > Open MBN config loading and activating tool > select mbn_eea.txt for SW MBN > tap on validate > wait some secs for update then reboot phone

Does this solution require root? For me it says "Please apply to modem staff to get control rights." I am also facing constant disconnects, poor mobile reception etc. since the latest updates. It is really driving me crazy and I already tried resetting APN, mobile connections, full download of update etc. The only thing I have not tried yet is a full wipe as this will take a lot of time to reconfigure all the apps. But might be a further solution...
like for me "Please apply to modem staff to get control rights."

Sorry i don't understant what you mean, it's the default dialer for miui global. So it's already installed.
go to settings -> sim cards and mobile networks -> (click on sim card 1)
VoLTE and VoWIFI should be there
nope, this is the problem. When i dial the codes nothing happen and no vo*** options in settings.
I think those settings have been removed from MIUI, but phone codes still works if you enable them.
Try this: go to settings / system info / all specifications / click 5 times on internal memory
This will open a services option for sim 1 and sim 2
Check if volte and/or wowifi are enabled.
Then use the codes provide few messages above via phone app and go back to this service screen and re-check if volte and/or wowifi status are changed.
It worked for me.
Thanks for the tips, but not working for me
Hi there. Same problems here. The manual activation with *#*#VOLTE#*#*, which overrides the network settings, worked with MIUI 12.5, but since MIUI 13 the command does not work anymore.
So now you only get VoLTE if your network provider gives it to you.
I see you have a french language selected, so you might be using Orange or Sosh network. They don't support VoLTE on the F3... I contacted support, and they activated a switch on my phone line. And I had VoLTE on the F3 with MIUI 13 with Sosh for a few days, before it went away again...
I'm using Bouygues network and volte is activated on the network. My problem is VoWIFI, since i have a very bas reception at home. Otherwise the network connection is very bad and i always have blanks in phone calls.
Anyway, if you enable Volte or vowifi but your carrier doesn't support it or didn't enable it for Poco F3 the services, them simply couldn't work
It's true but they're activated by the carrier. VoLTE works sometimes and VoWIFI doesn't work.
I think i have to change this phone cause i can't use it. Too many network lost ...
Sad but true.. Poco is simply a mess..
My carrier said that Poco F3 is not supported by it's network (that needs a specific firmware update to support any single device), but it came out my F3 can connect to volte and vowifi
Just want to share my experiences before I am using poco x3 and I enable vowifi in the setting, when making call via wifi I can hear the other person but they cannot hear me, it turns out that poco x3 is not officially supported by my network provider... Months later I changed phone to poco f3 as it's supported by network provider and the vowifi work flawlessly since then..
