G3426 (XA1 Plus Dual-Sim) garbage bluetooth. - Sony Xperia XA1 Questions & Answers

Hi Guys, anyone have any hints to deal with the garbage bluetooth on this device?
Specifically I have issues using smartwatch type devices. My pebble watches (Pebble OG and Pebble 2 HR) and my fitbit blaze, all struggle to connect, and when they are connected, they disrupt a2dp audio streaming to my headphones and my car stereo... the same watches and audio devices work fine on my pixel 2 xl and are all amazingly reliable and consistent, but connected to this phone the audio is fine, but as soon as I connect a smartwatch the audio goes to ****, and none of my watches will remain consistently connected or reliable.
I also notice the pixel can read the headphone battery data off my headphones, and the sony cannot.

bluetooth car receivers

hey guys,
anyone have any experience using bluetooth to stream audio(music) to a car receiver? how is the qualitly?
i'm in the market for a new head unit and i would like go wireless. i had been using the headphone jack to the aux port but i got rid of that car. i can't post links yet but i was looking at this model from crutchfield: Pioneer DEH-P6200BT
I got one for my truck, I THINK it's model: Dual XHD7714.
I've owned mine over 6 months now, run it hard, have had everything connected to it and it works well.
After I got my Evo, I started exclusively using the Bluetooth connectivity for Pandora and local media I had copied to the SD card. Never had any issues. Phone calls come through clear as well. You can even control the basic play functions from the head unit as well (to your phone).... such as skip songs in Pandora, pausing, etc.
I have it hooked up to multiple amps (full speakers, subs, etc)
No issues at all.
My Evo and the radio connect very quickly every time I get in the truck.
Not bad for $100.
I have had three of the Sony Xpload series recievers, and all of them have worked flawlessly using Bluetooth on my Evo. The only issue I have seen is that with the windows down or a loud interior the call clarity is poor, but no worse than using the phones speakerphone.
I use BT exclusively...no more cd's, no more radio, etc. Just make sure your head unit can stream...a lot of them advertise BT, but most will only do BT calling.
Agreed. I just put in a Kenwood DNX6160 with integrated BT. It's an awesome radio. The lower models require a separate BT module... How silly is that... Except that the lower models + the BT modules enable the A2DP, while my higher model with integrated BT can only do phone.

I have a JVC KW-AVX740 with built-in BT (audio & phone use). The audio is decent to good but the phone use is terrible. I have a Plantronics Voyager Pro for my calls (overall, a great bt device).
At this point, I don't use my phone much to listen to music. It is convenient not to carry another device...but I've been carrying 2 devices for so long, it's habit. Plus I don't want to compromise my battery life & phone usage (for music purposes)...as it is my primary communications device.

[Q] Using a Bluetooth Car Audio. Will I lose any sound quality?

Hello guys,
I am planning to use this http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Bluetooth-Hands-Free-BlackBerry-Smartphones/dp/B004EHZUYG
Now the bluetooth receiver will connect directly to my aux port in my car.
The Note 2 has an awesome sound chip which I really like as opposed to my old Dell Streak 5, but once it is paired with the bluetooth receiver, will it be bypassing the audio hardware, and thus the audio quality will be reduced as opposed to connecting it directly to the aux port?
One of the most striking diffrences between the Note 1 and 2 is the sound of the bluetooth audio.
It is way way better than it used to be.I don't know how it compares to direct, but I love it!
It's so good I just went and bought bluetooth headphones for nearly £300.
The Note has the latest bluetooth codec and so do the headphones

It will be better still when Apt-X enabled head units start shipping. Apt-X is a Bluetooth protocol which sounds nearly as good as a wire (some would say it's indistinguishable), and the Note 2 supports it. As far as I know, no currently available car head units support it, but CSR, the company that makes it (and the Bt chips in the Note 2) started shipping chips intended for car head units over the summer, so you should be able to get one real soon. I'm holding out on a new head unit now.
The headphones I got are apt-X, should get them in a couple of days
I got the other version of this Belkin BT handsfree, the one with buttons to change stations and scan, etc. Anyways, I was extremely amazed at the sound quality over the bluetooth. Prior to Note 2, I had iPhone 4 and the music sound so bad, very flat and crappy and I assumed it was because of the bluetooth. But when I switched to Note 2, I was stunned by the music quality, it sounds a whole lot better and so clear.
But be aware that by using the Note 2 stock music player, the sounds will be just as terrible as the iPhone 4. The best sounds I got was from playing music over PowerAmp, the differences were crazily huge.
So there you have it, I hope you enjoy it as much as I am
EDIT: this is the model I got, http://www.megabuy.com.au/belkin-caraudio-connect-fm-bluetooth-p310046.html
Griffin Technologies Blue Trip Aux
I got it from Amazon here
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004KPLS7K/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1353312494&sr=8-1&pi=SL75
I was surprised at how great my music sounded. I especially like how it turns on and off with the car.

[Q] Bluetooth Issues

Anyone else having Bluetooth issues? Specifically:
Brief dropouts and clicks. They may not be very noticeable to casual listeners or those without decent headphones, but they're jarringly obvious to me as a semi-audiophile.
Sudden, LOUD static noises that are so short and so loud that it sounds like a gunshot. I was chilling at work today and heard this happen, and nearly fell out of my chair. I threw my headphones across my desk in panic.
I am really frustrated because the amount of troubleshooting I've done on this suggests that the issue is endemic to Android itself, and they simply refuse to fix it.
I first noticed the problem with Android 4.4.0 on the Moto Droid Maxx. The issue did not exist on that phone running Jelly Bean. Then, when I upgraded to the Galaxy S5, first on 4.4.2 and then 4.4.4, the issue persisted. Now it's still here bothering me to no end on the Note 4. That's THREE separate devices spanning three generations (or two, if you count the S5 and the Note 4 as the same generation), and two manufacturers, all having the same problems!
Other important/relevant observations:
1. This DOES NOT occur when using the exact same bluetooth headsets with other computing devices. I have an old Dell Latitude laptop and a first-gen Microsoft Surface Pro, both of which NEVER produce clicks, pops, or loud noises on Bluetooth, regardless of distance. I usually keep my phone less than 3 feet from my headphones while listening to music.
2. This IS NOT isolated to a single bluetooth device. I have the Meelectronics Air-Fi Matrix2 (Bluetooth 4.0), the original Meelectronics Air-Fi Matrix (Bluetooth 3.0), and my car's Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.
3. This IS NOT related to voice calls. It only occurs when the "Media" subsystem of Android is in use, so, apps besides the Phone playing sound.
So, we can create a nice pretty table as follows (and yes, I have tried every possible combination of these):
Code:
BT Device Phone/Computer BT Protocol Problems?
Meelec Matrix2 Surface Pro 4.0 None
Meelec Matrix Surface Pro 3.0 None
Car (Honda) Surface Pro 2.1 + EDR None
Meelec Matrix2 Custom Desktop 4.0 None

Has anyone used, for more than a couple of hours, a pair of Bluetooth stereo headphones or headset (not the little thing you stick in your ear, but actual headphones for music) with an app like Spotify, Google Play Music, or a local media player, and NOT experienced this problem, with the Note 4? If so, please let me know what Bluetooth device you have -- be as specific as possible. I'm fed up with this problem being so widespread and yet ignored by the manufacturers and Google. Maybe there are other Bluetooth client chipsets out there other than the ones I'm using that'll work better.
Thanks!
I constantly hear that odd snap/pop randomly when using Bluetooth. It isn't a wifi or VZW connection issue and happens off my Bose or car Bluetooth. It never happens using my headset plugged in. I've tolerated it because it's better than the skipping/stuttering issue I had using 4.4.2. Hoping L fixes it. Google knows about the issue.
OK, I just ordered an Avantree Saturn Pro, which I can plug into the 3.5mm of the Note 4 and transmit to my Meelectronics bluetooth headset. I don't move my phone around on my desk much during the day, so it's not that big of a deal to plug and unplug it. It's much more convenient than buying a brand new pair of headphones that transmit over a non-BT protocol and connect by 3.5mm, like the Steelseries H Wireless. I'll finally be able to listen to music again at work.
I'm cynical so I bet Lollipop won't hit the Verizon Note 4 until 2015, possibly even March or April. I'll get plenty of use out of my Saturn Pro in the mean time. Thanks!
Mine used to do that, I fixed it by adjusting the cpu min clock rate. It drains the battery faster but it got rid of it. It worked for me on both note 3 and 4.

No, that's been the only way I've fixed it so far.

I too have the periodic random skipping issue with Bluetooth on the Note 4, which is especially annoying with music and audiobooks in my car. Weird thing is, this is the first time I've ever had this issue with an Android phone, and I've been through 10+ different Android phones over the past several years.
No issues here with Bluetooth and music streaming.

That's great, but can you please provide details on what hardware you have? Bluetooth hardware, that is.
Same issue here and it is so damn annoying.. one of the key reasons I upgraded was this issue which I had all the time in the Droid RAZR Maxx HD. And same stupid problem with the note 4. I use LG tone, Motorola S305, and my car Bluetooth is Kenwood built into my stereo system. I have the same issues on all three devices.
I hope you make some headway. It's little things like this that give android such a bad name... heck it makes me, a diehard android guy, even consider moving to icrap cause I just want smooth running music!!

I had some bluetooth ( dropped connections then reconnecting) issues with my Jawbone Icon. Dropped connection
I fixed the problem (so far) by resetting then repairing my Jawbone
I have a Samsung 3000 Bluetooth receiver that I can plug any headphones into. I've used Pandora, Play Music, and gone mad music player for long durations and haven't experienced any issues. It's Apt-X too if that matters.
Edit: I've also paired it with the stock radio on a Honda Pilot with no issues.
|> transmitted from deep inside a Verizon Note 4
My Bluetooth constantly disconnects then reconnects all my BT devices. All devices have worked with my last 4 Android phones. I think it's a hardware issue.
Issue GONE
The latest update FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!
Completely!!!!!
Build KTU84P.N910VVRU1ANJ5 released this week
The release notes claim to fix a WiFi issue (maybe WiFi was somehow interfering with Bluetooth operation???) but now my Bluetooth is PERFECT. Not a single dropout in two days. Normally I would get several dropouts per hour. No more loud noises either!
YAY they fixed it!
....aaaand nevermind. The symptoms came back as soon as I rebooted my phone. Rebooting my phone again and again doesn't re-fix the problem; it just seems that the first reboot after an OTA has it working well, but as soon as you reboot again, you lose the magic pixie dust that caused it to work before.
Ugh. False alarm. Still busted. Still tethered to the 3.5mm cable. :x

Bluetooth Issues with Phone

Hi all,
I got a Huawei Smart Watch a few weeks ago to use with my Nexus 6P which I've had for a while.
For some reason when the watch is connected to the Nexus 6P with Bluetooth Audio switched on in the Watch, it won't connect to the Car's Bluetooth when the car is switched on.
Is anyone having this same issue? is there anyway of fixing it apart from turning off the Bluetooth Audio function on the watch?
Surely the phone could priorities the Car's Bluetooth. I don't seem to see this issue with either other watches or phones.

Best Budget Wireless Earbuds: QCY Q29 Wireless Earbuds

Best Budget Wireless Earbuds: QCY Q29 Wireless Earbuds
Bluetooth earbuds have gained popularity over past few years and we have seen truly wireless earbuds from Samsung but it wasn't until the Apple released AirPods which made the untethered Bluetooth earbuds mainstream. While Samsung's Gear IconX failed to gain popularity the Apple's tooth brush looking AirPods have seen positive response from Apple users. Though AirPods costs more than $100 and sound quality isn't the best so the average consumer might not be able to justify the cost. But as technology evolves we see new companies trying their hands at untethered truly wireless Bluetooth earbuds. Not many of these companies make good earbuds but I have found the best budget friendly truly wireless Bluetooth earbuds.
Let me introduce you to the QCY Q29 truly wireless Bluetooth earbuds. Q29's are similar to AirPods and Gear IconX as they're they’re two independent earpieces that can be used together (stereo) or separately (mono), depending on your needs. The audio quality in these earbuds have surpassed that of AirPods and the price definitely puts them in spotlight for best budget-centric wireless Bluetooth earbuds.
Audio
The audio quality is surprisingly good and surpassed my exceptions. I have been using the wired Bluetooth Jaybird Bluebird X for over 2 years and was satisfied with audio quality from Q29. If you ever used Jaybirds then you would know that they have one of the best audio quality in the market for Bluetooth earbuds. The call audio quality has been good as there were no complaints from callers. Since the microphone is exposed its tricky to use it in windy situation. Overall I love the audio quality of the Q29 earbuds.
The Case
These earbuds comes with a case that doubles as a charger which holds 220 mAh of battery and can charge your earbuds for up to 24 hours. This charging case is small enough to fit in your pockets or purses and can be charged using any micro usb cable.
The Design
The earbuds have owl design that looks premium and comes in two color grey and white. They do stick out a bit from your ears but if you have long hair or wear hoodie they aren't visible. Please watch the video review to see it yourself. There is a small led that will indicate status of the earbuds. There is also a voice assistance to indicate paring mode or incoming calls. Both of the earbuds are equipped with microphone allowing you to use either one of them as mono headset. Its very simple to pick up and end the call with one click of the button. As far as design goes I have no complain as the battery compliments its size and they do fit snug. But I would suggest using Comply foam ear tips as it will make the audio quality superior.
Connectivity
Connecting Q29 to your Bluetooth enabled device is pretty simple and takes 30 second. The Bluetooth range is also quite good as it comes with Bluetooth 4.1 technology. If for some reason your earbuds are not inter connected please follow the below guide to connect right and left earbuds with each other.
1.Please restart the Bluetooth on your phone and clean up the previous connected between the phone and the Q29.
2.Turn off both R and L earbud, press both function buttons as the same time and hold about 10 seconds, until the white light on. Waite for 3-5 seconds, the light will turn white and red and you will hear the warning tone "right channel/left channel" after this.
*Please keep clicking these two buttons until you heard that warning, only if they have matched, the L will connect automatically.
3.Turn off the L earbud, then turn on your Bluetooth and paring R earbud first with your phone.
4.Turn on your L earbud, hold the L earbud into paring mode, It will paring with the R earbud and the phone automatically.
This process is also apply to connecting with Android phone, and please note that turn off you iPhone Bluetooth function when you want to connect the earbuds with Android devices.
Conclusion
These earbuds have been my daily drivers ever since December and I have no complaint about it. The audio quality and connectivity is great. I will be honest here I was not expecting the earbuds to be good as I had set my bar high since I have been using Jaybirds. But I was pleasantly surprised with overall performance from these earbuds and they have successfully retired my Jaybirds. I am sure they will replace your daily drivers as they are on sale currently and from the special coupon in video description you will be able to get these for under $50.
Please let me know if you have any question.
Comply tip type
Thanks for your review. I'm now enjoying them as my first foray into wireless headphones. You mentioned replacing the standard tips with Comply. What type are compatible with these? I have some for other headphones but they're too small to fit the Q29s.
That is a great topic but I have seen that there is a new upgraded earbuds QCY Q29 Pro. I have noticed that they are now BT 4.2 and they have small other improvements and new BT chip. Can anyone make a comparison of both and say if the old model Q29 is better or the new one Q29 Pro?

I bought Q29 pro and that are awesome. Couldn't do a comparison as I don't own the earlier version. When I am not using my Parrot zik 2.0 these are the go to headphones (of course, couldn't compare with Zik which has more rounded sound) . More importantly the mic is good too and my callers haven't complained so far. These are very good.,though some haven't felt the same about Q29 minis.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
I also have bought Q29 Pro. The sound is awesome and when I walk the people really do not complain. The only thing I do not like is that they can't stay into my ears and when I chew or yawn they fell.
I also bought these earphones, and they are great. But I noticed that if I store them in the battery case, they get charged, and when the case battery is completely discharged by charging the earphones, the earphones turn on and they stay on until they also discharge. So then both batteries are empty. It appears that when the case battery is empty, the contacts to the earphones stop working, so the earphones think they have been taken out of the case and turn on automatically, even though they are still in the case.
Did anyone else notice this?

How to differentiate between pro and non pro version ?
I don't think looking outside anyone could see the difference. When you receive the package see the booklet. The Pro model is with Bluetooth 4.2.
Good afternoon, I bought a month ago the headphones QCY q29 pro. They worked well, and yesterday one right earpiece fell silent and did not turn on any more. I charged the headphones in the box, but the right earpiece still does not turn on. It does not light a bulb. What should I do?
Try to hold the button longer it might be the button the problem. If you could return them for change. They have warranty.
I just received mine a couple days ago and felt that the volume is too low. Could barely hear the music when I'm on a train / bus. The product doesn't even have a proper website to hope that they will increase the volume in the future firmware update. .
I wonder if only mine or it is built to have a low volume? I'm looking for a way to increase the volume, perhaps volume tweaking through a third-party app? I disabled the Absolute Volume setting in the developer mode, but that didn't help

Did you manage to get your issue sorted?
I just wanted to share that my unit's volume seems more than adequate. In fact, I have to keep it at less than 1/3 of max.
---------- Post added at 10:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:29 AM ----------
Reaching out to other users of these earbuds -- Do any of you experience frequent drop outs with them? Paired with my google pixel 1st gen, I often get drop-outs. And I mean very often, like every few minutes, it would momentarily lose the signal. It would only be for a moment, but as you can probably imagine, listening to music or podcasts are quite unsatisfactory.
On a lark, I decided to pair them with my Lenovo P8 tablet and the experience was a-ok. I only ever experienced a drop out when I moved too far from the tablet, like 6-9 meters away!
Maybe some of you might have an idea as what's going on?

No, the volume is still quite low for me. I think it's probably from the phone (Note 8). I gave them to my son.
I'm also experiencing the same frequent drop out, mostly with the left piece. I read that many are experiencing the same issue. I figured that it's probably the cons. Can't complain much since it's very cheap
Thanks for getting back to me @bankir, and sharing your experience with it.
Are they cutting out Sound??
Do the buds cut out sometimes. I have galaxy buds and they are cutting off nonstop so i am thinking to buy a new ones.
