Remap Bixby button on Android Pie ( ONEUI) - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hello Everyone,
i just upgraded to Android Oneui ( downloaded from Sammobile), everything is just smooth and perfect.
The only problem i have for the moment is Bixby,
i used to disable some services (by using Package disabler) and i use BxAction ( with premium features).
in Android Pie , package disabler is not working anymore. so i don't find a way to disable launching Bixy [Click, Double click, and long click]. bxAction works but it launches Both : (bixby) + (the actions i choosed on click).
did someone succeeded disabling Bixby in Android Pie Please ?
Thank you for your help

No you can't. I'm so desperate to get it disabled that I physically glued the button.
But after I dropped a complaint on the official Samsung S9 forum.
Their official answer: "Live with it!"
Edit:
I should also have said this:
Remapping works partially (in my case it still stops video recording) but it's the long press you can't remap.
The furthest I got was to install NetGuard and deny Bixby internet access. That results in it hanging during launch so it (at least) won't talk.

Oh thanks. Looked it up... it's payware.
With my current experience, all "old" methods do not work, so sadly, i'm not going to try and pay for something that most likely will not work.
Besides, i realised for me it's to late. I solved it more drastically.

1/ Excuse me , but are you sure that Package disabler pro is working on Android P ? i don't understand why it's paid , even though i already paid for it before.....

Umm, why would I suggest something that I hadn't tested?
My Bixby button and a lot of other system apps are disabled with it right now on Pie....
But... enjoy your glue

Yes working fine, version 15.0, and no PDP engine is not required now

Out of curiosity,
How does it despond to a long press, or 3x times fast a short press, and then when recording a video?
Better still, can you "mistreat" the bixby button during recording without it stopping?
I noticed that those where the things that couldn't be disabled.
Thanks in advance for trying!

well i just bought the app, Bixby's disabled, Thank you ,
But the next problem would be to remap the button. when i try to do it, it requires enabling bixbyvoice package. and this one launches directly Bixby.....
Did you managed to remap the button ?

EDIT: if you want to use LMT launcher you have to have root and root explorer to remove the soft keys. First Install LMT launcher, you can get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150.
*Here is the link to download the full screen toggle app so you dont have to modify the build prop
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497558
Then with root explorer Add "qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1" (without the quotes) at the end of the build.prop in /system and reboot (credit to anirudh412 for this).

I would not recommend this app. I tried it. It worked but after reboot my phone I ended up in boot loop. It mess up with the build.prop. So if you don't have recovery it will be pain to restore phone to previous state.
This app worked well for me. Just the placement of the on screen keys would sometimes get I am the way of the software keyboards lower left and lower right most keys. But overall pretty good.

Did you modify did build prop to remove the soft keys before u installed the app? You dont need to modify the build prop for this that maybe the reason you had that boot loop.

This thing almost perfect, the only thing missing is the stock recent apps, instead it uses its own recent apps that don't allow me to remove apps that are running by swiping it to the right.

well the thing is that with the original post that i put you dont need to do any build prop mods its just installing the apps, but if you want to do the LMT launcher with removing the soft keys its been posted on other threads but ill repost it. Also i dont if a moderator can move this to the app section i posted in wrong place.
Here's what I did:
1. Root the phone with my bootloader still locked.
2. I installed the LMT Launcher app and configured the PIE controls
3. When the PIE controls are all set, I installed the app "Fullscreen Toggle"
4. Fullscreen Toggle gets rid of the softkeys but keeps the status bar on top, which I think is good.
5. I also prefer using Browser vs. Chrome, so Installed Browser apk using the instructions in the other thread for that.
Now, when I browse, I have the full screen, when I exit the browser, I no longer have wasted space by the softkeys taking up space.
I have to say, I love LMT Pie control, its fast and intuitive and its even more convenient to use the phone one handed with it. This made all the difference with this phone.
This is exactly what im doing didnt have a chance to do it yesterday, one question you got stock browser to work cuz it seemed like nobody had it working. Did you follow the instructions from the link I provided.

I cannot wait to try that out when I get my phone, thanks!

[APP] SpyKit - Stealth Camera for S2

Hi everybody, let me present you SpyKit, and app designed for taking spy pictures in a very simple yet powerful way!
The motivation was to address the main problems in most of the existing spy cameras: lack of polisheness and counter intuitive user interfaces.
Right now this is the only spy camera that works when you screen is truly turned off!
How to use it?
The first thing you have to do is activate it through the main switch in the upper right corner. You can also put a widget in your desktop for quickly enable it.
Then there two ways you can use the app:
-> Using your device buttons. (PLAY, PAUSE, VOLUME UP/DOWN)
By default all buttons are mapped to the Single Picture Action.
-> Using the Motion Detection feature.
By default motion detection is mapped to the Continuous Shooting Action
You, of course, can change this mappings at the settings screen.
SpyKit, by default, displays a floating preview which you can drag and resize as you like. It allows you to keep using your other apps while the preview is active!.
If you don't want the preview to be shown, you can disable it at the settings screen.

Well, it depends on what you mean by "secretly watch people"... With this app you can take pictures pressing the headset button (for now, in the next release i will be adding the volume up/down and camera buttons...), without shutter sound and with you screen turned off... so nobody will know you are taking pictures! And you don´t need to have the app opened, it runs in the background waiting for you to press the buttons!

Is it possible to remap the alarm slider to open app?

Hi guys,
I am not a developper, but I just saw a review of the new blackberry phone and it had a button you could map to open any app on the phone.
I wandered if it was possible to do it with the oneplus 3 alarm slider.
I saw that there was a couple of xposed module that gave you more options like put the phone on airplane mode, ... but xposed is not avaliable on nougat yet and I was thinking of a more customizable option
Does anyone know if it is possible, if it already exists (might have missed it) or if i have to start learning to code

It's possible and the app that does this already exists: "Notification slider" on Play Store.
You'll need root and kernel set to permissive. Everything you need to know is provided when you launch the app.

I saw that app prior to posting my question. but this app only remaps the alarm slider to other certain actions set by the developer.
i was looking for the same app exept that i could chose any app to map to any position of the slider
plus it says thet to unlock all the feature i need xposed

The app does allow you to launch any app of your choice (and multiple other options) with the slider.
Xposed is only for Marshmallow, on Nougat it works without Xposed, but needs permissive kernel as a workaround.

Weird ... The app should inform you about kernel having to be permissive at launch. And it provides a few links to guides on how to do it. Anyways, you can just Google it or get another app that sets the kernel to permissive.
... A minute later ...
I've just realized that I'm an idiot ... It seems that it doesn't works very well on OOS Nougat. I'm running LineageOS currently (works perfectly here), completely forgot about that, sorry.

It's an app made by someone what does the same, is free and works good without redoing it all the time.
So now I'm going to play a game...
Take a relax pill bro ?

Does the same and recovers at reboot

My question was can it be done this way. I added the line from the op but it did not work out, so I'll just use adb

If you use JOnePlus app (play store) and give it write permissions in adb, then it will enable call record for you, also there is a toggle to turn on to survive reboot.

Never meet someone who's actively using more than two phones at the same time. How does this work in practice?

Thanks!

Camera Shutter Sound

Anybody knows how to disable the camera shutter sound besides muting the phone? I don't have the disable shutter sound button in the camera settings, seems only Snapdragon version has this feature. Thanks in advance
Yeah it's in Camera settings. Turn it off in there.
The problem is there's no option in the camera setting to disable the shutter sound.

if you are using the exynos version of s20 and it's rooted, you can try my little magisk module. it offers some csc features like camera shutter menu.
I'm using it on my s20 ultra, but should also work on s20 and s20+.
let me know if its working for you.
but remember I'm not responsible for any damage on your device!!!
It's in camera settings for me, at the very bottom of the main settings menu there's a switch.

It works for camera, but cant open anymore magisk modules page (canary) (app close)
I will try safe mode to disable it and confirm it because of it.
I hoped to have app protection, the menu appeared, but i guess app is missing, could you add it?

Edit : cant access module page from magisk even in safe mode ... any idea ?
Edit 2 : found it in /data/adb/modules and deleted it. It works now for module page... could you fix it ?

Exynos or Snapdragon?
try turning off the system volume, if you don't need it
I don't have the option to turn off the shutter sound in the camera app but muting system volume works, which means all other system related sounds will be muted

Thanks for the advice. Will muting the system volume mute notifications sound as well?

No, just system sounds (I think this includes charging, low battery, and the like)
Go to sounds and vibration > volume, then slide system all the way to the left

@m8980 I added the APK in your zip file, modifying module.prop to activate the APK, and it works, I have the application working in Advanced function menu !
But still, the module breaks magisk module page... :x

Actually it seems to be only with Magisk Manager Canary version.
I installed stable version, and module page works.
Edit : Many thanks because now we have AppLock working with your module and AppLock apk added
what does applock mean?

You can lock access to apps with pin/fingerprint
It needs the APK to be installed in /system/priv-app/AppLock as I did in the modified zip uploaded above

Edit : I don't know why some ROMs have this AppLock function and some other don't. I don't know if there is an S20 ROM with this function yet, but I found the AppLock APK (Android 10+) on apkmirror and this AppLock function is part of CSC features since some years ago already.

Actually, it works not so well.
I have it too, and yes it works, but after a reboot or something like that, the camera sound is there. I had to go in camera settings again to switch on/off the sound.
