It doesnt have SD card slot. There are assumptions that it will support Huawei NM Card , but havent found one testing it.

Expandable memory or not?

Does anyone have the Honor V20 or View 20 and can you verify if the phone supports any kind of expandable memory. So far, from what I've read it is ambiguous. Same problem and question for the Nova 4?
Thank you

The problem is NM card is not much available in the market and hence only few have access to it. Need to wait for someone to have both with them.

That doesnt make sense Huawei release new technology and not including it in their flagship line up contradicts the purpose of introducing it.
May be a software update can bring the support for it.

Honestly, I don't mind if it's expandable or nor, but being it expandable would've been a great bonus.

What ever amount of internal storage you have I will prefer to have external storage when I wanted to change my device I would just move all my data to external storage and will use the same card in the new device it will prevent me the hectic work of copying data.

Nope, afraid not. Two nano SIM slots and a NM doesn't read in the SIM 2 slot.
Worth noting I'm in the UK so, there may be an international version of the handset or something.

Yes. Had the mate20 pro and returned it for this as it was alot cheaper on my contract. Purchased a NM but unfortunately doesn't work in either slot. Fortunately I'm still within 14 day return period for that too as it was £100 lol

Just in case can you deep dig into settings may be there is a hidden settings or some option in developers options.
Did you try by formatting card to fat32 format?
That doesn't make sense realising a special card and not allowing it to use in flagships.
I don't get why Huawei released it in the first place.

Thanks. In that case it's a bummer.
May be they will enable it in future updates.

If it doesn't have the hardware to support NM, it's not something that can be enabled of fixed with a software update. I have had a mate 8,9 and 10. I refuse to buy the mate 20 because of this nano memory proprietary, inferior and overpriced cards.
I love my Nova 3 using my 400gb micro sd card. From what I've read, the Nova 4 also doesn't support memory expansion. These are fatal marketing errors by huawei.
Thank you all for the discussion.

Sir you are correct, thats indeed the current problem. Although it is not a very big problems, since linux doesnt see the difference, thus accepting sdxc cards This could be fixed with a software update. Lets hope Samsung is watching us here
hm.... !!!
How hard would it be for a dev to implement it do you think?
Not that difficult IMHO.... Because hardware requirement for both types of cards are the same.... So only the cost factor & availability of high capacity storage are minimal. Hence they are not used commonly....
Otherwise imagine sgs2 utilizing 2TB of storage from sdxc ????? WOW !!!!!!
That would be sexy..... Devs are you listening ????
Any news with 64gb on sgs2? I know this is dead topic since a while, but there's 2.3.4 leaked already, anyone checked is it works now / discover how to make 64gig fully working?
Unfortunately, there don't appear to be any microSDXC cards on the market at the moment -- even full-size SDXC cards are a bit hard to come by.

you sure can! i am using one now. sandisk class 4. bought it for 29.99 and a 1 day sale! works great along with my internal card!
I'm using one too. Just a note, the internal memory registers to apps as the SD card, while the SD card is located as a folder inside that marked External_SD. I had to redirect a few apps to there to find their data.

Yeah it's really expensive here is the price:
64GB $219.99
but are you sure it can? cause from what I've read SGH-T989 is designed to take up to 32GB's only... I'm curious if it can really take more than that set value of 32GB's. You will see this if you read the owner's manual of the phone
there are many confirmations and videos that have shown it can, even on old HTC and Samsung devices, or many other phones
as for the price, if you think about it
2x 32GB $100 = 1x 64GB $200
so it's just like buying 2 card, but you can use them together at the same time instead of having to take out the back cover + case to swap the SD cards

I ordered two and have used these befofe the sdxc system in the micro sd cards seem to be read as sdhc so that these phones can support it. On an evo even it reads perfectly fine. On the ET4G I havent checked the camera information but it does transfer at 30mb/s (read/write fluctuate between 15-20mb on actual transfer and write is just a bit higher).

I have been using the 64gb sdxc card for about a month now. It works great!
When I first installed it my phone did not recognize it. Easy fix....
1.menu
2.Settings
3.Storage
4.Unmount SD card
5.Format SD card
The only minor issue I have had is "media scan" can sometimes take a little long if I have too much media saved on the SD card. I usually just place a period in front of large folders that contain movies and private photos. This will hide the contents of the folder from the "media scan".Then I just access them with ES file explorer. The media scan never takes anymore than a couple seconds and its NOT really an issue.
Also for some strange reason Windows will not recognize the card when plugged in to the computer directly but My Mac will. When transferring files from Windows I just use the USB cord and transfer via mass storage or MTP Application.
BUY IT NOW!!! You will not regret it.

Don't know if it's widespread or isolated incidents.
http://photo.net/digital-camera-forum/00LQNF
The above is from 2007 though, so I don't know if it's relative to today.
After extensive Googling, I have come to this conclusion:
There are hardly any incidents about fake SanDisk cards from Adorama.
There is the one incident above, which may have stuck in peoples minds over the years, but is not indicative of a widespread problem.
Most of all that I read about Adorama is positive, or neutral.
Adorama is in NYC, and is in direct competition with B&H Photo, another reputable Dealer to buy electronics from, so I don't think either wants to blow it, so to speak.
The above is just my opinion, but if Adorama had issues with widespread SanDisk problems, I likely would have found it.
Out of the 2 stores above, I usually shop at B&H Photo, whether in store or online. No particular reason other than I went to B&H Photo years ago, and have continued to go there if the price is right. I've been to Adorama once also, and had no issues. I actually purchased recently a SanDisk 16GB Class 6 card from B&H Photo, but purchased the Samsung 32GB Class 10 card a couple of weeks afterwards from another Dealer.
Adorama advertises a lot on 660 AM WFAN sports radio. Pretty big name. I'd be surprised if they wouldn't work with someone who received a bad or fake card.
Found this video with the card being used HERE

And, just like any other HDD advertised, there's rounding involved. That 250GB HDD you bought is actually only 236GB, or something like that. It's all about them rounding and dividing by 1000 instead of the proper 1024.

The GS3 also doesn't have S Note and all the files required for the S Pen framework. It would make a little more sense.
In any case, the proper solution to this thread and its question is to man up and buy a 32GB MicroSD for $20-$30. It's a better solution anyways IMO. If you switch devices for any reason, all your important files are already on your MicroSD and ready to go. I switched to the GNII from an EVO 3D and I didn't have to copy over all my music and ringtones or other important files. I just put my my MicroSD in and everything was there.

Partitioning is why.
Rounding isn't why.
It is because the user-usable-storage partition and the normally-non-editable system partition are counted together. Which makes no sense to common people, but makes perfect sense to advertising agents.
yep, it's that 6GB that samsung reserves for the system partition on just about all the devices they make. seems the should start adding 16GB , 10 useable like they used to do with old school monitors.

Are you new to computers, file storage, formatting, partitioning or just technology in general? The computer you're using to be online and on this website, what do the specs list as it's hard drive and what is really available? That 32GB microSD card you say you have, let me not shock you but if you look it up, it's really not 32GB, but ~ 28GB or so (give or take), really. The industry is to blame..really.

Guess I'll take a punt on a couple and report back with actual hands-on knowledge.

I bought this for my Nexus 7 and it works great! Although, I don't have cf cards. Success using it with sd and micro sd and the otg cable worked flawlessly too. Hope it works with the One too.

No where in the link, that I saw, does it say it's for a CF card. This is an adaptor for a MicroSD card to fit your phones.
Take the attitudes down a notch guys.

Might be more efficient to just delete any posts in this thread not pertaining to compact flash OTG card readers.
That's what the thread is about.
