S9 (SM-G960F) No OTA updates. Changing firmware. - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hi experts,
I bought a used S9 (SM-G960F) a few months ago from Pakistan. Phone is un-locked and was manufactured in YATELEY, UK. This phone never receives any OTA updates. When I manually check for updates, it says that latest updates have already been installed. I checked on a sammobile, there are quite a few updates available there.
I am not sure what kind of firmware or CSC modifications were done to this device before I bought it (I am sorry but I am still a noob when it comes to android, so please help). I did however check with Phone INFO app, the device is not rooted. In settings it also says that it is official and knox warranty void is 0x0.
Can I flash a firmware for my current country (Pakistan) using Odin?
For example this one: PDA G960FXXU2CSA2 and CSC G960FOXM2CSA2.
Or should I use UK BTU firmware? In that case would I have to unlock the phone by using UK SIM before being able to use it in Pakistan?
My Phone INFO:
Firmware:
Bootloader: G960FXXU2BRGA
PDA: G960FXXU2BRGA
CSC: G960FOXM2BRGA
Baseband: G960FXXU2BRG8CSC code:
Product code: SM-G960FZPAPAK
Original CSC code:
Firmware's CSC code:
Active CSC code: PAK
Available CSC codes:
CSC country: Pakistan / PK
My apologies if my question is very basic or has been answered before. I've been reading forums but found nothing satisfactory. Please guide.

[Q] Install 4.4.2 from Sammobile manually

Hi All,
Got a small question about upgrading my S4Mini (GT-I9195 LTE) from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2.
At the moment my phone is on stock-rom which is 4.2.2 , when i check for 'updates' it says, 'latest updates already installed'.
Also when connecting to 'Kies' , the program says latest firmware already installed..
However when i check the Sammobile website for the GT-I9195 Model there are newer firmware's showing up , Android 4.4.2, but it depends on the country if the firmware is already at 4.4.2.
For the Netherlands, where i'm from, this one is available :
Model: GT-I9195
Model name: GALAXY S4 mini LTE
Country: Netherlands (Vodafone)
Version: Android 4.4.2
Changelist: 1646188
Build date: Tue, 27 May 2014 08:17:05 +0000
Product Code: VDF
PDA: I9195XXUCNEA
CSC: I9195VFGCNE4
MODEM: I9195XXUCNEA
However, i'm not with Vodafone as a provider, would that be a problem ?
When i check my phone specs, this is what i get:
AP: I9195XXUBNB3
CP: I9195XXUBNB3
CSC: I9195PHNBND1
Can i just install android 4.4.2 from Sammobile without any problem ?
Thanks in advance.

Network/carrier specific firmware may have custom software or setting for the ROM, it better to find some other model that are as close to your phone's spec as possible to avoid any potential problem.
As if your phone has Know, it would trigger Know if you don't update via the official way.

Hi, thanks for your answer.
Knox-flag is already triggered on my phone, but because i had to sent it back to shop for maintenance they reset it back to factory settings (android 4.2.2.)
However, i don't get it the way Samsung is updating the phone's. It's said that 4.4.2 is out for S4Mini , however when i'm searching for my device on Sammobile (I9195XXUBNB3), it still says 4.2.2.
Should I wait with updating, or what else ?

That depends entirely on you... If you wish to preserve the warranty and keep the KNOX, than don't. If you can't wait and don't get bother by KNOX or warranty than go for it.
LOL, too tired, I just realize I keep typing KNOX as 'know'...

I just typed that my KNOX warranty is already void, it's triggerd 0x1.
I'm now just wondering what the best way is for me to update to stock 4.4.2...i'm confused with al the stock-roms that have 4.4.2 for S4Mini on Sammobile.

All the ROM listed on Smmmobile is for different region. And I would also expect there won't be a 4.4.2 for your specific phone since you've check via Kies. So you need to find a phone from another region that are same spec as yours - band, function, etc and prefer not a carrier/network model.
Alternatively you can go for the custom KK ROM here.

[Q] safe root for BML4 (CSC XEO) needed! up-/downgrade possible?

Hello,
I've already tried the search and google but I'm still not sure.
I've been wondering for a while why I did not receive any firmware update for my GT-I9195 and finally figured out, that I've been sold a Polish version of the phone (XEO). According to sammobile, there have been very few updates for this version.
*#1234# is showing:
AP: I9195XXUBML4
CP: I9195XXUBML4
CSC: I9195XEOBNA1
I don't want to trigger Knox, because I already had a warranty case...
Is it possible to upgrade it to 4.4.2 with a different CSC and use towelroot?
Is it possible to downgrade to BMK3 (or BMJ7) and use saferoot or Kingo?
Thanks in advance!

Multi CSC firmware confusion

Hi all,
This might have been asked earlier, but I'm still having a problem understanding the concept of multi-CSC in Samsung Galaxy S9
I have a G960-F Dual Sim and according to Samsung Phone INFO I have the following CSC:
Original CSC Code: Blank
Firmware CSC Code: Blank
Active CSC Code: NEE
Available CSC Codes: Blank
I understand that NEE is part of the OXM Multi CSC with among others DBT (German unlocked)
What happens if I flash the DBT OTA on my NEE device?
- Will my CSC change?
- Will that void warranty?
- Will it trip knox?
- Are there any consequeces of doing it?
Thank you!

SM-R815F - Galaxy Watch 42 LTE stock firmware help R815FXXU1CRK7

Hi All,
I've been following this prodigious forum for a long time, and, like many of us, i'm trying to change the default CSC of my galaxy watch 42 LTE.
I followed the procedure via SBD, formally it was successful, but like many of us, the watch did not show the list of countries.
So... this is the idea:
downgrade to first firmware via NetODIN (should be R815FXXU1CRK7), than use the SBD procedure in order to select my CSC (that should go on first firmware) then I proceed via OTA to update the latest available firmware.
This is my actual watch configuration:
AP: R815FXXU1FSL3
CP: R815FXXU1FSL3
CSC: R815FOXA1FSL3
Stock firmware I'm searching for: R815FXXU1CRK7
Should be a Europe free operatore device from DBT, desire to switch to ITV.
... and this is the issue:
I tried quite a lot but I still haven't been able to find the first firmware with which the watch was born, also on the XDA forum, but for the R815F version there doesn't seem to be my specific firmware ... could you help me?
In your opinion could it work this solution? Thanks for the contributions, so as to help the many of us who have the 42 LTE - R815F version.
Thank you,
Strategia
I dig up the subject, I have the same model and in 2 years I only received an update, I live in France but I received it with the csc oxa. I have the exact same firmware as you. And I never received an update.

Issue updating to Android 10

Hi, I'm kind of not sure which android 10 firmware to install on my S9. Bought a fairly used Galaxy S9 SM-G960U with the phone info below
Baseband: G960USQS5CSEB
AP: G960USQS5CSEB
CP: G960USQS5CSEB
Service provider software version: ATT/XAA/ATT
Now the csc code I found is the confusing part, it has
CSC: G960FXSG5CSEB
I already downloaded the unlocked carrier for G960U1, Hoping to flash it back to default.
Can anyone tell me what to do, cos I can't get updates and I want to upgrade the firmware to android 10. Thanks.
