SONY XPERIA XA2 SUBSTRATUM+ANDROMEDA (NON ROOTED Oreo 8.0.0)-Any themes that work? - Sony Xperia XA Themes, Apps, and Mods

Does anyone have Flux Substratum on their sony oreo devices running andromeda?
Im interested in buying it but im not sure if its possible without having some sort of glitching or broken overlays.
If it is broken, are there any similar dark themes that I could actually use without rooting my phone. Its kinda frustrating and i absolutely don't wanna root my device because i dont want the trouble of dealing with a rooted phone. Its kinda pathetic how substratum uses Sony OMS but it barely works on their own xperia lineup....

Hi, you are on XA forums so no Oreo devices here.

If you want official Sony firmware you have to change your phone to Z3 at least. Z1 compact was dropped and will never get any new version.

If there is no Android M then this is my last phone from Sony. I mean, this is ****. State of the art device two years ago and EOLed already. They must be kidding us.
In my opinion Sony is actually one of the best. But i agree. it's kind of sad that we can't have Sony marshmallow firmware for this great device. It is'nt even close being outdated yet.

Please do if someone can answer me!

Why phones like the HTC One M9 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 which both use the Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 have custom rom but xperia m5 not even a simple custom rom or kernel?
(sorry for my poor English)
Well sony smartphones are more complex, xperia needs unlocked bootloader, devs to create custom kernel, custom recovery and most of we need devs to make it happen, but sadly devs are preoccupied with Z series for know, and this is a very new phone so we need to be patient. But anyways m5 works fine with stock rom,for me its perfect, fast, stable and it's UI is pretty nice. But i know there are different opinions and users who like different stuff.

I never had problems or the will to change the stock rom from sony. It's perfect.
But it would be nice to have some customs roms anyway.
We will have them, but we have to be patient...

I don't see this device getting any Development what so ever unfortunately usually seems to be the case with Sony mediatek devices I really wanted a m5 a while back myself I know where there is one for sale now brand new but used in white less than £180, but due to lack of development it's exactly why I'm hoping to be going for the x instead to replace my m2. If you have no intention of rooting ect it's a good device with a cracking camera if only it was as popular as the m2 was things may of been different

Aquos R Compact

Anyone have this phone yet? Was thinking of getting it as a Sony compact line alternative. Want to ditch my Sony phone cause it keeps overheating... Does the Aquos have that issue? Also are there any custom roms available for it?

Rooting with Oreo/EMUI 8

I'm just wondering, as most rooting tutorials are around a year old now, and were made for Nougat, is it still possible to easily root your Honor 7x under Oreo?
Is it even worth it? I heard apps such as Game Guardian don't even work on oreo anymore.

Sony Z1 compact

Hej, i was thinking of buying a used xperia Z1 compact, or a Z2 etc, an older Sony xperia.
I read some guides that explain you can install android 8 or even 9 on them, is this reliable? Obviously, a Z1 or Z2 or anything that old will be having an older android OS, limiting the phone to various apps and features.
By installing/modding a Z1 compact with android 9, would i get all the modern features that a 'modern' phone would have, that is equipped with Oreo or Pie?
Also, the Z1 compact can be rooted/modded to have 120fps/4k video recording already since 2014, will one get this functionality by installing android 8 or 9?
https://www.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-and-z1-compact-get-4k-and-120-fps-video-recording/
Found the below guides for installing a newer android, but these guides seem not so great?

Those phones can be had rather cheap used, and i really like those phones. Have one with a shattered screen, but fixing that would be more costly then getting another one used.
Also, another question, a Z2 which screen doesnt respond sometimes to touch, is that generally a software or hardware problem?
Thanks alot for the input! :highfive:
