S9 Message Your current software version isn't supported. Visit a service centre - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hi first post, please be gentle
I've got an s9 which is on EE UK, I flashed the phone with stock firmware, I did run into a couple of issues where when flashing the phone it got stuck on odm.img so I had to start again but using CSC and not home CSC so I lost everything
When the phone rebooted, it started up in German, so as I had my sim card in, it restarted in English
I'm using the following
G960FXXU2CSA2/G960FOXM2CSA2/G960FXXS2BRK3
Service provider SW SAOMC_SM-G960F_OXM_DBT_PP_0009
DBT/XEU/EVR
When I check for updates I get the following
Your current software version isn't supported. Visit a service centre
Can anyone help on how to put this right, I want to stay on stock firmware, not EE firmware
Thanks in advance

Good morning, I have a problem with my S9 model G9600 which came from the factory with the firmware of Hong Kong, however I tried to change the firmware for the one in Colombia because some voice services of the operators only work with the software of the country. But when trying to flash the part of CSC I mark the error and obviously the installation fails as in a kind of A brick because the logo of Galaxy S9 does not pass and is only solved by reinstalling the firmware with which it came from the factory; I have already made sure that the binary is the same, however I can not find a solution. I attach photos of the error.

You need to flash the XEU firmware, you have the German DBT firmware running right now

same issue, i have a hungarian telenor phone which suppoesed to be (PAN) , i flashed XEH which is hungarian, but it said software version not supported visit a support center , so i flashed the PAN 9.0 version and it still says this

Did you find any solution for this?

are you having an identical issue? i ask that because resolutions are very specific. Flashing firmware from www.sammobile.com/firmwares is very commonly the fix for a great many issues, but id hate to have you go thru the trouble of doing so if its not necessary

I tried flashing using odin but didnt work. btw, im using SM-965U and currently residing in Thailand. I dont know if this is the reason why I cant update at all.

S9 message
I am in the U.S. and am getting the message that software isn't supported also. Is there any resolution to this problem?

In case it helps, I was having this same issue with my unlocked Galaxy Note 10+. I found this thread after searching. I had gotten into this situation by flashing CP/AP/BL from TMO firmware without also flashing TMO's CSC or USERDATA. I avoided CSC/USERDATA (I was using the home CSC) because I wanted to avoid wiping the phone.
When I finally gave up and flashed CSC and USERDATA, everything was back to normal.

[Q] So How does this actually work?

I picked up a pre-owned Gold G3 yesterday, my last one went pop!
This new G3, is Sim Unlocked, but with a Vodafone UK rom (V10a.235.15). After researching and reading around.. the G3 has EFS, so I followed the KDZ back to stock guide and flashed the Open EU rom, which went without any issues and seemed as if it had flashed and replaced the VF Rom, but it still has the VF splash screen, a VF updates Icon (Which can be removed) and software version, yet the G3 still detected and Loaded in my EE UK APN settings and no sign of any VF APN.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
So am I right in thinking.. If I wanted to make this a full UK unbranded phone, so no splash screen with a software V10a.EUR.XX.. I would have to Jailbreak the EFS partition and Replace VFRom stored on the EFS with the EUR-XX rom.
OR am I wrong entirely, so... How does this work
There are so many threads on here, that ask the same questions in different ways, hence why Im a litle confused as how this works
Thanks
Wait Wait Wait
So you cant manually import APN settings right? How about flashing a Rom from another European country?
Dont tamper with the EFS partition under any circumstances. If you do you wont have a IMEI and your phone will be worthless. Carrier branding does not occur within the EFS partition
I remember my carrier apps disappeared from Update Center when i upgraded my Australian firmware to a Taiwan Firmware so im pretty sure it might work for you.
When you flash the KDZ make sure you flash it using CSE Flash Mode

Can I just be clear before I answer... The G3 I bought is Branded to Vodafone UK, I am personally on EE UK and Im trying to remove the Vodafone Branding and make it a factory unlocked unbranded G3.
Thanks for the reply friend. I didnt have to enter any EE APN settings, they were already there, so not sure how that was... because I didnt enter them. Glad to hear its not the EFS, because I would rather use a branded phone and have it working than change its file system and mess it up. Also, I know the guide doesnt state it but I turned ON USB Debugging, would that make a difference
I followed the guide closely so did flash using CSE. Ill now flash another countries KDZ and let you know how i get on?
Could it be that Vodafone UK is the EU Open Rom, just a few minor changes..... What I dont understand is...
The EUR Open Rom flashes perfectly fine, reboots and starts... so why after a perfect flash using CSE, is the Vodafone UK rom still there. Any Ideas.

Im afraid no Luck... I flashed Open France, still booted to VF rom with VF software on it v.10a-235-15), then installed "Italy Orange", which actually worked, booted up a clean LG rom BUT, even though its v.10a, When trying OTA update, it said I was n the latest OS, which is no good, then using LG PC Sync.. it just updated to the UK VF rom again (20h).
So I took a long shot and flashed Open UK, still the same.... boots into VF splash screen and software.. so, Im at a loss. This is why I reckon carriers hide a rom on the EFS partition.
Any thing to add
Thanks

I got a rooted GT-N7100 with different IMEI, no network

Preface: I'm old man and this is my first post feeling exhausted after reading topics I don't fully understand. Please bear with me.
My trusty old Note 2 has had some issues that made me to look for a replacement Note 2 (I spare you for the reasons why still Note 2). Few days ago I won an eBay auction and received an unlocked GT-N7100 supposed to be new.
The very first I did was install of Phone Info Samsung app. This app told my new phone was rooted and Firmware region was Hong Kong. I did a test phone call to my friend: OK, worked normal. Then I took several screenshots of Phone Info's reports, and did the same on my old Note 2 for comparison.
My main concern was to unroot this phone to ensure some for me essential apps would function on it after migration from my old Note 2. I followed online guide and successfully flashed with the H-K firmware N7100ZSUFNJ2. I understood this same region version was required but later I could flash firmware of my choice, the same Nordic I have on my old.
After reboot I tried to make phone call: Not registered on network. I thought first this problem appeared because of firmware and downloaded and flashed Nordic N7100XXSFQA1: the same network problem. The SIM card is the same I use on my old Note 2. More search led me to this possible solution: "How to fix not registered on network" (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2745274)
Unfortunately flashing MODEM.tar.md5 didn't solve my problem. So far I had not paid attention to the different IMEI on the label vs dialing *#06# / displayed by Phone Info. This different IMEI was the same before my unrooting process. How come I could make phone call despite this error, it's beyond me?
Another issue on this new phone is that when S-Pen is inserted it claims pen is detached, and when pulled out the S-note won't appear. How come, can be solved?
Please experts, help me to solve this problem. I am ready to supply more info if required.

First thing I recommend is booting into download mode to confirm the model number. Download will show the actual model number.

Did you try flashing the latest gt-n7100 rom for Hong Kong since that is the firmware that came with the phone?

Yes, I did successfully.
The latest ROM I see for Hong Kong is qa2: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note-/GT-N7100/TGY/download/N7100ZSSFQA2/126556/

I understood the firmware version should be the same in order to unroot successfully. Right now downloading the linked version. Thank so far.
After flashing with linked FW
So I downloaded the file you linked to. Here are screenshots of Phone INFO, on the left before any flashing, on the right after this latest. Need for any other screens?
The bootloader on the left is older at nj2 mixed with qa2. Weird that there is no CSC information.
The picture on the right is more consistently qa2.
The phone you purchased was definitely not new as the IMEI from the dialler should match the IMEI on the phone's printed label.
If flashing the latest firmware doesn't solve the calling issue, not sure what else to suggest other than trying firmware for a different country or a custom ROM.

You asked for CSC info, well here three screenshots. On the left my eBay Note 2 initially, the red in middle is my own Note 2, and on the right eBay after all flashing so far.
EDIT: I forgot to insert SIM on ebay Note2 before screenshot. When inserted the MobileOperator reads elisa / 24405. Interesting, the "24421" missing. Saunalahti was subsidiary of elisa, now merged to main company.
I've read that the differing IMEI issue can be cause if you flashed firmware that contains a lower version modem than what you already had. You can try flashing the latest bootloader and modem for this device with Odin (download in this post). Extract the .rar file and place the file starting with BL in the BL tab and CP in the CP tab in Odin.

I followed your suggestion and flashed but unfortunately this did not solve my network problem.
The CSC changed to Hong Kong because that's what was in the rom you flashed.

What puzzles me is that this eBay Note before unrooting gave empty fields on Firmware's CSC Code and CSC Country. I'm here flashing the Nordic ROM back again.

Thank you for this, but again after flashing network problem stays. Well, it's midnight here in Helsinki, had to go to bed....
After flashing a stock ROM, are you able to try other sim cards in the phone?
Search result on tampered IMEI
Curious as I am I tested the IMEI displayed by dialing *#06# on three databases. One couldn't tell, two others told this phone were Ericson A3618s. Wow!
On the other hand, Phone INFO's General claims this Note 2 were White while in reality Titanium grey.
Have you made any further progress?
Is it possible that the imei on the battery label has been blacklisted which is why the motherboard was programmed with another imei?
Try entering both imei numbers here: https://www.mobileincanada.com/

Thanks for caring about this problem still. The Canadian site looks more about unlocking. My previous post told about search result from http://www.imeipro.info/ stating the imei on label is clean. I just re-visited another database for second time http://www.imei.info and there I had to pay for Black list check which takes up to 48 hours.
BTW I have kept eye on eBay and wonder how Note 2s are flooding there... Although the seller won't accept returns I wrote request to return in hope eBay takes this as resolution... have to wait a couple of days before that process may start.

CSC Change is still possible?

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to check whether any working methods are around to change the CSC of a Note 10+
Couldn't find any guides apart from the ones which are in Note 9 Sections.
Any support on this is much appreciated!

Im also looking for a solution for this. SamKey's paid service is apparently supporting this but im unsure of the method their software uses and its a paid service. Users in Australia (like me) are having issues with RCS services through Telstra (TEL) because the Open Variant bought direct from Samsung not having the correct CSC. Some users have reported changing the CSC through SamKey successfully.
I have tried flashing with Telstra firmware but no luck.

I initially did *#272*IMEI# and was able to switch between CSC. When I switched to XAA, I was stuck and could not able to use the *#272*IMEI# anymore.. So I had XAA/XAA/ATT.. I saw many were stuck.
Found a solution that worked for me is as follows. Try at your own risk.
Downloaded the tool from
https://www.mysterious-dev.com/2020/05/changecsc-all-samsung-free-tool-android.html
and downloaded the ChangeCSC Software tool.. . watched the video couple of times.. The process lets you install custom THEME.. I was getting "Update" "Delete" and "Buy" ..
What did was
install another random theme
then went back to the program and clicked change CSC again
this time when I choose the custom theme pack, I saw the "Try now".. after that I followed the instruction to about phone->legal and clicked on CHANGE Carrier Android 10 and VOILA!!! I got that CSC change page.. I saw XAA was selected and I changed to TMB... after that "Sales& Network Code Change" and clicked ok.. .The phone restarted and saw the T-Mobile logo!!!!
I even tried the *#272*IMEI# and this time it worked and showed me the CSC screen!!!
Hope this helps anyone who is stuck...My phone now says TMB/TMB/ATT!!!

I had to do the CSC changing today and it simply rebooted and displayed the new CSC logo. It was with AT&T and when I change it to TMB. I get the T-Mobile boot logo.. I was able to get back in to the device without loosing any data.. The CSC showed TMB/TMB/TMB.. But I noticed the ringer/notifications sound still remained the AT&T settings. So to answer your initial question, my phone didn't get wiped out when switching the CSC.

I have found *some* Samsung models can still change CSC via firmware flash in Odin by following these pre requisites...
- disable find my phone
- sign out of Google and samsung accounts
- developer mode .... enable oem unlock
- flash a single CSC stock firmware in odin (do not use home-csc)
- phone will be completely wjped but after first boot and running setup, CSC will be change to match new firmware
Have any one tried

Is it just the firmware that would need changing or would the ROM need to be changed too?

the firmware contains the ROM, but the ROM wouldnt have been what prevented you from using this to its full potential. Technically, all youd really need to do is flash your carriers CSC and even maybe the HOME_CSC. If youre unfamiliar with those terms and/or processes, just flash the Vodafone firmware with the CSC (which will factory reset it) and call it a day

Hi Youdoofus,
Thanks for your help.
Can I just run this past you then.
The phone came brand new from O2 and is not locked to the network.
I'm using a Vodafone SIM in the phone and I have trouble receiving SMS, making 4G calls, etc.
I understand what it is to flash the phone with new firmware although I've never done it before.
If I flash the phone with the latest Vodafone firmware and Vodafone or generic CSC that should be enough to get the phone working ok with the Vodafone SIM?
Sorry if the question seems basic. This is obviously not my area of expertise.

no worries mate. nobody is innately knowledgeable about this stuff, even the seasoned linux vets can stumble about a bit.
but yes, all you really need to do is flash the Vodafone or generic/multi csc and youll probably be good to go. the reason your sms isnt working is likely due to your APN settings and voLTE wont work without your carriers own CSC installed tho. That being said, many of the multi CSC firmware packs will do the job quite nicely as they will likely have Vodafones CSC in their list of available CSCs. It would be different if you used a fly by night carrier
I flashed mine with unbranded generic UK firmware BTU-G960FXXU7CSK1-20191121174240.zip.

Final Samsung Android 10 should be out any day now (if you can wait).
Big fan of this Lineage 17 10 rom by Abtekk if you fancy something custom:

Currently running that with White Wolf kernel & Zoran's GCam, good luck!

[GUIDE] Flashing XQ-AT51 Firmware on XQ-AT52 Device

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any bricks/ issues you may encounter following this guide. Although, I will do my best to try to help you if something were to go wrong.
MAKE SURE OEM UNLOCK IS ENABLED UNDER DEV SETTINGS BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING BELOW
Update 2: 3/11/2021 : I see maybe deleting the .ta files may help avoid soft bricking, feel free to try it I have not personally tested yet to see if it works.
Update#3 3/13/2021 : If you are following this guide recently make sure you update to Android 11 first! Do not do any updates after the first one to Android 11! Then the flashing should work just fine. Tested and verified this on Taiwan XQ-AT52 to 51 firmware
Hello, I've managed to successfully flash AT51 firmware on my AT52 without issue using Newflasher.
Step 1 download = the US firmware/ whatever region is needed for you and new flasher/ the sony xperia drivers needed to flash the firmware to your device. Extract it to your desktop. Install the Xperia driver from newflasher if you need to/ haven't yet. Newflasher needs to be extracted into the same folder where the firmware files are that you downloaded from Xperifirm. This step is crucial!
Step 2 : Power off your Xperia and put it in flash mode by pressing down on the volume and connecting it to your PC via usb. (Do not use the USB C cable that came with the phone use a different one if you have one) You'll know it is in flashmode if the notification LED turned green and the screen remains off.
Step 3 : Open newflasher.exe
Step 4: type n then press enter
Step 5: type n again and press enter
Step 6 : This is when you should get to the flashing stage. Press Y and enter to everything you are prompted to. type y for yes to. This for me resulted in a successful conversion over to AT51.
Step 7: Once everything is done and it says you are safe to disconnect your phone please do so and then press and hold your power button until the phone boots up.
At this point you should have a fully working AT51 firmware!
Bare with me as I"m working on getting developer access for androidfilehost and will upload the files asap. In the meantime you can download newflasher and the firmware files yourself using Xperifirm if you don't wanna wait for me to upload.

Can you tell me the model of your xperia phone? If you can still get it into flash mode when the notification LED turns green you may still be able to recover it.
Hi, I finally managed to restore it. I have to remove all the ta files to flash it, then it booted up.
Thanks for your respond.

I have using newflasher
After using 3 time xperia companion it work normal again
Hi, I didn't find this thread until after I made an attempt at flashing the device. I followed the instructions from the link below and ended up with the device saying it's corrupted.
https://www.xperiablog.net/2018/01/...-firmware-for-xperia-xz-premium-xz1-and-more/
I tried redownloading newflasher as well as redownloading the firmware I wanted as well as a new cable and that did not help. I reflashed it with this procedure listed above and it did not help.
Xperia companion won't let me do anything because it says the device is locked even though the device was not locked and there doesn't appear to be a way to unlock it. edited to add that I did get xperia companion to repair it successfully
edit again to advise I succeeded only after doing n and enter a third time then hitting y and enter for the final flashing step and that was successful in getting it updated correctly
Would it work to unlock my phone
Thanks for the guide!
Can I ask few questions please?
First is do I need to have my bootloader unlocked? I enabled OEM unlock setting in developer settings but that is only one thing I did.
And the second one is could this flash unlock my phone?
I am in this situation where my AT51 won't work with other sims except for Vodafone. UK.
I stayed with them for 30 days, (required time frame to get your phone unlocked) requested unlock code and it has been more than 10 working days but still have not received the code.
So today I did some searching online and found the service code to check if my phone is locked to a network and to my surprise it says it's not. So I am guessing that they have limited my phone to using only their sim through some other means andnot buy locking my modem. But this is ofc just a guess.
I kept chatting with the customer support and he keeps saying wait for the code which I do not believe is going to come, they have to unlock it on their end. But I am not sure about that. I don't think they are sure either..
Basically I'll wait fem more days maybe they will unlock it but if they won't when I am thinking maybe my modem is not locked and I could unlock it by flashing different ROM?
Or do you think this won't work?
Sorry for a rambling post. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

You do not need the bootloader unlocked as you are flashing official firmware.
Anyone know if you can flash a XQ-AT52 to a XQ-AT51 and then back to the XQ-AT52 firmware?
Sent from my XQ-AT52 using Tapatalk
I know this thread is a few months old at this point but I'm really struggling to flash to XQ-AT51. I've successfully flashed from XQ-AT52 Hong Kong (my original firmware) to the Taiwan version which is slightly better because of the messaging compatibility but I really want to get the US version. I have tried at least 20 times over the course of a full day and I have not been able to flash the US firmware without getting an error saying "Your device is corrupt It can't be trusted and will not boot" every time. I have repaired it back to the Hong Kong firmware (back when that was the one I had) and to the Taiwan version once I had that installed. But I have never gotten the US firmware to take without the "Device is corrupt" error.
My phone is the Sony xperia 1 mark 2 running the then default XQ-AT52 Hong Kong, and now running the default XQ-AT52 Taiwan. I've been trying to flash to XQ-AT51 US. I've been using newflasher v39 and the US firmware downloaded for xperifirm v 5.5.0.
So I was able to flash from the hong kong version to the Taiwan version and back with no issues at all. But I'm still unable to flash to the US version without the "Your device is corrupt It can't be trusted and will not boot" error that seems to happen every single time I try to install the US firmware.
Can someone make me a favor and can upload the latest ftf of Android 10 for the Xperia 1ii Single SIM?

The 1 II has downgrade protection, so as long as the firmware version of the US version isn't the same or newer than the highest version you've ever used you're gonna get the corruption error.
What you could try is flashing the newer EU version and then flashing only the older US customisation image. That's what I did for a while since US firmware was older than EU firmware, and it worked. Not sure if it'll work with Android 11.

im in the us and was looking to the 256gb version (i think its taiwan). is the hong kong or taiwan version missing anything? or is the only reason to flash to US to get better coverage with us carriers?

It's for better coverage and for VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling support. Also if you get a HK one with Android 11 you will be unable to flash the US firmware, because it is still on Android 10; and the phone has anti-rollback protection.
it arrived on 10 still, but its bugging me to update.

This isn't the case now since the US models have Android 11 too now
Can anyone confirm that this process has to be done using USB 2.x? I've read in a separate post that newflasher isn't compatible with USB 3.x, which is currently what all my computer use. Also, should I be using the newest version newflasher?
EDIT: Tried on USB 2.0 and it worked perfectly.
