SIM card not detected after flashing LineageOS 16 - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone,
I have a pretty big issue with my HTC 10 which I installed LineageOS 16 on.
Last week I got the HTC 10 from my dad because he switched to a POCO F1 because the HTC has the battery problem (fast draining, phone powers off when trying to use camera etc.).
Since I was on a LG G3 which has the common display problem I took the HTC and didn't care much about the battery.
When I got the phone it was updated to Android 8 via OTA. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP, then LOS 16 (2019-02-02 build) and 9.0 gapps.
First I had no sim card because the G3 used micro SIM. Then I ordered a new one from o2 since it's free and has a 3 size adapter. When it arrived I tried to put it into my phone and was surprised that it still says no sim card.
It should work because my dad also has an o2 sim card and only one week passed since I got the phone so I don't think this is a hardware failure.
I have read something that I only can use Android 8+ ROM on 8 firmware but it was updated to 8 so it should have the 8 firmware, right?
IMEI is shown in settings too and there was something about flashing RUU to get to stock and having the 8.0 firmware.
If I really need that (which I want to avoid since I have to backup data and I have much data) can someone give me a link to Android 8 RUU?
I have a unbranded HTC 10 from Germany if that matters.
Thank you in advance,
VetrixFX

Being a custom rom with aosp base and a non standard/foreign provider, you likely need to manually set your apn.

I can't configurate my APN when the SIM card is not detected. There is no SIM card PIN prompt and it is a non-branded phone. My dad used the same provider as me with this phone but he was on Stock while I flashed it.

Oh, I see.
I would suggest going back to a stock based rom or RUU and see if it's actually working there.
Rather then relying on a custom based rom while troubleshooting it.
Could be a sudden hardware failure in the Sim slot/reader.

So here is the 2nd problem. I can't find a RUU where I am sure that is 99% compatible with my phone.

Also, I'm not real familiar with O2, but possibly the new SIM card needs to be activated...? (Pay as you go requires it, unfamiliar with other options)
I didn't see where you said if you tested the new sim in another phone. My apologies if I missed it.

I tested it in my Xperia SP and in my dad's POCO F1 and the PIN prompt comes. And the card is already activated.

Like I said, most likely the Sim card reader itself has gone bad or has lost its connection to the board.

Sim locked after flashing

Hi,
I have an Acer Liquid E for half a year now, and decided to flash a custom ROM on it.
I Flashed it with LiquidNext without any problems, but my GPS software didn't work on it.
So i flashed it back with a standard ROM.
The problem starts here...
The ROM I found, downloaded an flashed my phone with, was one for Fido devices only.
I didn't notice the message that it's for Fido phones only in the thread of that site *dumb me*, so I flashed the Fido ROM to my Liquid E *still dumb me*.
Problem is: My phone asksk for a code to unlock my sim card, because it thinks it is a Fido device...
I don't have such code, so I have a huge problem.
I already paid for a code, but I still have to hear that my phone has no matching unlock code.
Pretty obvious, because my phone is not a standard Fido phone, so the IMEI code has no match.
But my question is: How can I unlock my device?
I already tried:
www .acer-club. fr/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=814
(remove space after www and before fr; can't post links yet)
and also to put another ROM on it.
But nothing seems to help.
Can one of you pro's help me?
Thanks in advance!
Prokonobi
Anybody please?
Id like to know where you found the fido rom

I did. I tried 5 different services (ebay, unlock sites...), but no one could help.
Everybody refunded the money because they couldn't find a code for my phone.
They say that it's because it was no Fido phone at first, so there is no code availiable.
cheers
Can you just not put another rom on your phone and try it then or will it still be locked

I tried several different ROM's, but the phone is still locked.
I tried LiquidNext, Liquid-Community-Rom and even the standard acer ROM.
Maybe the rom is corrupted try to DL it again and also ...when had you flashed your phone hade you removed the sim?????

No, I didn't remove the sim, didn't thought it was necessary. But the SIM works fine on my old nokia, so that's not the problem I think.
I already tried to download it again, but it doesn't help.
I've read somewhere that it could be the radio ROM. Is this possible?
cheers

pay service center = shop where I bought it?
Because it's an Acer phone, and the devices from acer take months to get repaired and sent back to you...
good luck I hope someone on the site can help ya
did you try using any other sim on your acer !!
if no sim works , it may also be the hardware fault or your sim reader may be busted !!
Maybe this is the solution
Yesterday evening i have installed a new "OS" in my phone (samsung Ace). The Os
is Glsmt v2.1 and i had your same problem but i solve it because there was a
theme that hide the unlocking of Sim.Now if your Os have a default theme try to
disabled it and unlocking the sim with PIN code. Please let me know if you solved
@aaki_rocker
I tried other sim, but still the same...
Hardware is not broken, because he sees the sim, but just can't connect to the network.
@s1m1
No themes availiable that can disable the sim lock...
Any more suggestions?
(thanks for the great help so far!)
Sorry for the double post, but it seems that it could be solved by flashin the stock radio rom.
So if anyone could help me with the stock radio rom, I would be thankful!

If I buy from Verizon, can I flash stock and get stock updates?

Because the Google Store is so back-dated to get a pixel xl, can I just go to Verizon, pay cash for a pixel xl, then flash the stock ROM to it and then get the factory updates?
The way I understand it Verizon updates will come the same time as Google's. Also the only are like 3 apps from Verizon, and they are uninstallable.

The VZW bootloader can only be unlocked via depixel8 once that is done you can flash the Google factory image, which will also flash the Google bootloader, this way all your updates come from Google vs VZW. But hurry this will be patched in November security patch which is nov 7th.
Has anyone actually been successful in flashing the factory image? I was reading the unlock thread earlier and people were saying the flash was failing

NDE63P is the latest firmware, regardless of where the phone came from. I'm not sure where people are getting this "Google Firmware" thing from that is everywhere. There isn't any special firmware for any carrier or model.

[Q] Flash verizon with non-verizon factory images

Okay, as the title says I would like to know if you can use depixel8 to unlock the verizon pixel xl then fastboot flash the google play store version factory images. Essentially turning the Verizon version into a non-verizon version. From having shamu, which had different carrier images, I would say it is more than likely possible. But surprisingly I cannot find any threads confirming this after an hour of searching.
I just ordered the Verizon pixel xl 128gb today, taking advantage of the steep discount they are offering. I am taking the risk knowingly that it may be patched, but am hopeful I will still be able to use depixel8 once it arrives. From what I am seeing, it has not been patched yet. And as long as I don't accept an OTA before unlocking I should be fine either way. Super excited for it to arrive!

Yes, you can use depixel8 to unlock the bootloader. Yes, you can flash V instead of X via fastboot. I'll give you the same answer you're seen elsewhere: No one's ever seen this done before. And Google would have to do it (at VZW's request) since they push the updates.
I highly doubt it, but anything's possible I suppose.

I believe when you lock and/or unlock the bootloader in Android it completely wipes your device including internal storage. So relocking bootloader by force without your consent I could see leading to major backlash if that's always the case

However no one has yet been able to figure out your last, and most important part: how to turn a VZW device into a GS device. It cant be done. The google version has different world wide bands. However for all intent and purposes the devices are identical and other than the bands (which I bet someone could unlock)!

While theoretically possible, it is absolutely unprecedented.

I believe when you lock and/or unlock the bootloader in Android it completely wipes your device including internal storage. So relocking bootloader by force without your consent I could see leading to major backlash if that's always the case

They would risk bricking devices if they ever tried that. I have a strong feeling you will never see it happen.
I know this thread is old but I am just curious about this. Has anyone or does anyone know if you can flash any of the factory images that say Verizon or Telekom on them onto a Pixel XL you purchased from Google? There was an article that was published stating that the Verizon version got some extra changes to help fix things with the device.

Hello...
In the 7.1.2 beta thread I've seen people with Google version using Verizon firmware. :good:

You can flash any version on any Pixel XL as long as it is unlocked. If version is specific for the Verizon version it will still work it just a few things specific to fixes for the Verizon network.

Time consuming but thank y'all so much.
Well I got it done at first it showed no baseband but when it rebooted twice it showed up but now it won't get passed the configuring service screen and doesn't give me the option to put in my wifi. What do i do?? Please note that I currently don't have an activated sim card and when I got the phone it didn't come with 1 so I put my sim card in from my note 5.

You still need to flash the full firmware.
The blankflash flashes a bootloader that may not be compatible the other firmware.

I did what the thread brickhayabusa sent but now it doesn't give me the option to use wifi for the activation confirmation when starting up the phone. It wants me to use my sim card which its not active at the moment. So it stays on the configuring service screen. How do i get it to use the wifi instead? Or do i have to have an active sim card?

One last question tho... if I lock the bootloader back down, will that get the phone to be google certified and let me download games again??
