Tips for buying a second hand LG G3 - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone! I need advice. Please help me!
I'm considering buying a second-hand LG G3. The phone will be used for calls, photos and reading of documents (mostly offline). What are the most common problems and defects I need to be careful when looking and picking a phone? And another question - are there any problems or defects in the LG G3 that later have found a solution in the LG G4 – should I prefer LG G4?

Lg g3 too old . Cellphone new bigger than old. Why you have an idea to buy an old cellphone? In my opinion. Cheap Android device is table, have good function to do work better.

People buy what they want to buy. Old or new, doesn't matter.
I am on my third G3. This one I got via Amazon, a supposedly like-new model. It is perfect in almost every way. I lucked out because it was immaculate and every part of it works.
Being a fan of older ROMs I have to have the G3. Not my only device but continues to be my main driver.
LG G3 D851, AOSPA-L ROM, Nebula Rev9.3 Kernel, microG (NoGapps), MultiROM, XDA Legacy

[Q] Cyanogen for G3 Stylus?

Hi guys.
I'm planning to get the G3 Stylus (the downgraded one from the original G3, correct?) , and I need someone to point out to me the OFFICIAL Cyanogen for G3 Stylus. Is there such a thing or do I just use the one for the original G3 (IF there is one)?
I can't find the official build for any G3 variants in the CM website, by the way.
Thank you for your time.

Go to Settings > About Phone > Model Name
Tell me what that says.
Edit:
Realized that you do not have the phone. I only wanted that to make it easier to search for.
Couldn't find anything on the cyanogenmod website or anywhere else really, but I'll keep my eyes peeled.
Thanks Struthers , my brother is suggesting the original G3, the pricier one. It's specs are better, correct? If money is no object, would you recommend it over G3 Stylus?
My brother's contract with the telecom company entitles him to
1. A FREE G3 Stylus or
2. The original G3 (which you are currently using, right?) at HALF the price.
If you were me, which would you choose among the two?

[LG G4 Beat] A few questions

Hi, I have LG G4 Beat and I would like to root it.
I have heard of KingRoot/KingoRoot, is that the same thing? Is it safe to use? I read they are shady, is that true? On KingoRoot site, LG G4 Beat is not on the supported devices list but they say this: " Please note that this list is incomplete. "NOT LISTED" does not necessarily mean "NOT SUPPORTED"."
Is it dangerous to try? Will it work? Is there a better and safer way to root my LG G4 Beat device that will work for sure?
Sorry to say.... ever though the moniker is similar, the g4 beat is a vastly different model to the G4
So no one will be able to tell you if it works unless they've tried it on a g4 beat before

That makes sense, that's why I said [LG G4 Beat] and I posted it here because there isn't a G4 Beat forum.
But can you tell me about Kingroot? Are they indeed shady? Is it safe to root using their application? Are they reliable? I am pretty new to that stuff and if this proccess can be automated then that would be really nice.
Go this thread on first page read th entire thread u will know the pros and cons hit like if it helps

Lg g4 Worth buying today?

Hey everyone.
I wanna buy my wife a phone under 400$. At 370$ i have the g4. At 280$ i have the g3. All the Samsung phones are pricier and provide low level hardware at the same price.
I thought i buy the g3 as it is very cheap but satisfying phone...
But i am wondering if the g4 today doesn't have the bootloop issue...
If I'll buy the g4 today, i won't suffer from this issue?
Thanks.
Why would it have bootloop if you didnt do anything with bootloader and adb and root?

Its not just the manufacturing date but also serial number that starts with 505,6 etc ... Bootloop is one of major issue in g4 ... There is also a screen burn issue it happens when the phone gets to hot also a hardware issue... The lcd needs to be replaced there is a line on the screen thats shows ... Such a shame for such a good phone with so many faults
But its LG fault.... Samsung and etc are better....
---------- Post added at 07:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:01 PM ----------
Shiiit my phone has burning screen
False info
I got mine in december 2015 and since then I'm on stock. So far no bootloop either burned screen. Stop believing crappy info. Had also the g3 but they cannot be compared, g4 is miles in front of the g3, plus in not cracking prone.

LG G7 ThinQ still worth buying for root?

Dear everybody,
Currently I am using a LG G5 (H850 EU) which is really great for root. Unfortunately due to a display issue and lack of good quality spare parts on the worldwide online market I am looking for a new phone. Important to me among others:
- Easy to root
- Ultra-wide cam
- MicroSD Card
That's why I am considering the LG G7 ThinQ. However, it seems quite a big hassle to get root on the LG G7 ThinQ when I read the forums here at XDA. Furthermore, J0SH1X announced to stop developing TWRP for LG G7 (here). This leads me to the question if the G7 is still worth buying if root is important? My fear is Android 9, which could be problematic without any new TWRP.
Would it better buying a V30 which looks also great instead of the G7? What are your thoughts?
Thank you for any advise.
Best wishes,
Alex

It depends on what model is it? Look for the European model (lmg710ea) because thats the only one that can be unlocked rn (eaw and others have locked bootloaders). And j0sh1x actually didnt quit. He got Android Pie working on the g7 and we got resistant twrp too.

In my opinion the G7 is working very well.
Rooting is relatively easy for the EU model (see the dedicated thread).
I am missing a bit the TWRP for the stock firmware (that is more than enough for me) and I fear we will not get it soon if ever.
