I have an unrooted lg thinq v35 and I have both retroarch standard and retroarch 64 versions for my Android phone. My problem is that I set the save file directory to save .srm files on to my external micro sd card but the problem is that after I save a game and close content and start it back up, it doesn't create a save file on to the external micro SD card of my phone. It creates a save file only on the internal storage of my phone but not on my external storage. How do I fix this?

I am running CM10.1.2. I have been trying to backup my data onto external sd card using Mybackup Pro. By default all the files are being backed up to internal sd card. What is the file path for external sd card?
Also, when I move any app to sd card, they are saved in internal ss and nt he external one.
Any help with these issues would be much appreciated.

I have a 32GB external micro SD card which has been formatted in the tab itself. Also the platform.xml file has been edited to allow write access to the card, which works properly eg using Astro to copy files.
Problem is, TWRP can't see the external SD card. When I select external_sd in the TWRP file manager it does not show the files and folders there. If I backup using Online Nandroid Backup and try to save it to external SD, it instead goes to some obscure directory in the internal storage.
Any help much appreciated!

Here's a little followup for anyone who might have similar issue. I thought I had solved this problem by reformatting the card in the tablet; it was then recognized in various apps that had been a problem before. However, a few days later the card was shown as blank/unformatted. At that point I did some additional testing and determined that it was a counterfeit 32GB card, based on an actual 8GB card. I was able to get a refund and ordered a new 64GB card. Caveat emptor!

I have had similar problems I tried to copy two movies to SD card but it would not do it.
I had to copy to internal memory then move to SD card from tablet it worked for about half way into movie then said video corrupt .
But both work fully when in Internal Memory
I have had same issues with photos that it corrupts the image
This is due to the kit kat update and the SD card issues including the unmounting .
But it will let me copy across so maybe not the same issues as yours
I am using a new SanDisk 32GB card and software version V20H. I downloaded some MP3 files using uTorrent. However, if I select to save the files to the SD card directly, uTorrent gives an error "cannot write to disk" after downloading 10-15%. But when I choose to save to the internal memory, everything downloads fine. So I downloaded them to the internal storage and used the File Manager app to transfer the files from the internal storage to the SD card. However, even that fails after 10-15%. What's going wrong? The card is 100% fine as I can install apps and save pics/videos to it.
I had a similar problem with a Samsung 32GB card - transferring a large file (~1GB) directly to the card using wifi file sharing would fail at some random point, but the same transfer to the internal memory always worked. Copying the file from internal to external SD card also worked. When I switched to another card (Samsung 64GB) the direct file transfer problem disappeared.

In my case even internal -> external is failing. The files are a collection of small mp3 music files. I don't even have a clue to what's going wrong!
Hi! I have a Sprint LS992 LG G5. I have a 200 GB SD Card. I can't save any files to my phone via the SD Card nor write anything to the SD Card. If I try to download something to the SD Card or have an app write to the SD Card, it will error out. I can, however, transfer files from computer to the SD Card. Is there a possible other pathway in the file explorer to access the SD Card? Currently, using Solid Explorer, my SD Card sits on /storage/BBF5-E792. Any thoughts?

You can save stuff to the sd card. You have to download whatever your downloading and use your stock file manager and move it to your external card. Other file managers will not work.

I downloaded things to internal memory and then was able to move it using Solid Explorer. It is such mickey mouse bull**** that you can't just download directly to the SD card. I only have 32 GB of internal memory space (which isn't enough) and having to move things from internal storage to an sd card is cumbersome and tedious. If you (or I for that matter), figure out a way to directly download to the sd card (which may mean using solid explorer to find another file name path to the sd card) I'll let you know!
