Reboot system.
O have the same problem and with a reboot the problem disappear.

I already gave it a try, more than one reboot of the system, but still android system is at the top of the list! Overall my SOT is ridiculous.
No idea what could effect that, when i read that some user has a SOT of around 9h i'm really sad and sure that something is wrong.

Android system is too high, should only be a few percent. Do a format or fastboot a fresh rom

So you mean a factory reset? How do i fastboot a fresh rom and which rom?

I'm not sure what app is causing the issue. I get 9 hours SOT on the EU weekly for 2+ months now. I'd probably get the same results using any version of miui. I use the same apps on all my phone's and always get great battery life.

What versión of TWRP are you using?

I own a Mix 3, DO NOT factory reset. Simply go to Apps, Google Play Service, clear Cache & Data. This will solve the issue. We had a discussion on MIUI forum

I'm having this problem now too since the March update.

Yes I am actually, Nova launcher. Hm. It doesn't show as being a heavy user in the battery section though, did yours?

Not showing nova, but Android services using more then it should.. Had more then 30 %of android service usage and after switching back to miui launcher, have about 10 % max

In my case cleaning google services cache didnt solve the problem. I didnt do factory reset becouse i did it few days ago whe I bought used mix .
What I did was downloading last fw update package from phone settings and updated which means I flashed same rom I had on my mix.
Before CPU usage 100% all the time, now looks much better (see pictures)

There is a bug in the beta builds of MIUI if you are using one of those that causes ALL apps to get autostart permissions. This leads to severe battery drain. Simply going down the list and stripping most of the apps of the autostart permission fixes the problem. This has been reported as a bug to Xiaomi. I also submitted logs and bug report as I found the cause (I think) of the Verizon MMS issues.

You're right, beta builds for this device are a complete mess regarding battery consumption. Even with autostart option turned off I still have severe battery drain from "google play services".

[Q] PowerManagerService wakelock

I am monitoring my battery through BetterBatteryStatus. I see that the PowerManagerService kernel wakelock is keeping my phone from going to sleep. It keeps the phone on for nearly 120 mins in a day. Any idea of what that could be? I suspect that it is due to the Smart Stay feature of Galaxy S3 and I just disabled it now.
I'm getting this on CM 10.1, so no power stay. Wondering what it is too though.
PowerManagerService is basically a catch-all for partial wakelocks (wakelocks requested by non system apps). To see which apps are actually requesting the wakelocks, go to the Partial Wakelocks screen.

Is there any way to drill down this service and detect what exactly is draining the battery?

Use Better Battery Stats. instead of looking at the Kernel Wakelocks, switch it to partial wakelocks, and if I understand correctly, the sum of the partial wakelocks is effectively the powermanagementservice wakelock
Just wanted to say that i too had a lot of partial wakelocks draining battery on my SGS3 CM11 (using ART) but I've managed to solve the problem via cleaning the cache in settings->storage. Since then, the CPU is awaken only 19% of time and my batt last 5/6 days with WiFi, Now etc.. (I have a 7000mh zerolemon)

Have you seen any benefits by switching to ART?
If I clean the cache, what will it delete? Will I lose all my App settings and game levels? I have about 54Mb in there.

I just tried clearing and a message came up saying "Security policy restricts clearing of this app's cache."
Is this normal? How can I find out which app is causing the problem?
I have a Samsung galaxy note 2 and every time I lock lock my phone it suddenly turns right back on. It's been happening for two days now. I've tried factory reset and hard reset.. nothing seems to work. Looked at several forums but none seem to help either. Use wake lock app and it says this ..see attachment
Same here with various audio partial wakelocks that add up to 12 days of kernel wakelocks. This started when I upgraded to:
gapps-kk-20140606 & cm-11-20140611-snapshot-m7-snapshot kernel 3.0101-cyanogenmod-g329d6a1 build03 #1
I have gmail sync disabled but contacts sync on. I notice CM have added apollo to the lockscreen so this could be a bug I need to search for

Zenphone 2

I have a few questions before I get a ZF2
How is the battery life now ? Did they fixed the battery drain ?
Is Lolipop 5.1 available for this phone ?
Did they improved the camera ? I remember some reviews complaining about the lack of DR in most pictures.
Thank you.
There is no battery drain on this phone. You will always find people complain about battery drain on every smartphone out there.

you should check Android authority's review and tons of people are complaining about the battery life. Maybe you got the phone with an update preinstalled ? That would be a good news !
Are you a moderate user like me ? If you are, how much battery do you have left at the end of the day ?
Thank you
I have it for a month now, got it with an old firmware, now i'm running latest. I get 6 - 7 hours sot over 24 hours. Also, don't use the integrated Asus task killer, battery saver and autostart manager. They only drain battery. I rooted and installed a custom rom that has almost all Asus apps removed but i didn't have battery problems on stock rom either. There is an "android system" that is showing on top of battery usage but it is not a problem for me as it only drains 2-3% over night. I olso turn on data, wifi or gps, only when i need them. I always get top battery life on every smartphone i have, i don't think this is coincidence or luck. The drain is exactly the same as on every other powerfull smartphone on the market.
This phone receives software updates every two weeks and is getting better and better. It just got a new update today if you look in general section. What other oem updates their flagship so often? ?

As previously mentioned, there is no extra battery drain on this phone. It holds up to a good 5-6 hours on daily use. It is an amazing device except for the camera, which is the only bad thing I find about the phone.
Incase you're wondering, ZenUI is AMAZING! I don't know why everyone hates on it, but I've used almost EVERY manufacturer's edition of Android and ZenUI is by far the best. It is the most customizable, it looks the cleanest, and it takes medium amounts of RAM. I say 'medium' because HTC takes A LOT, Sony is whatever, LG is okay, and Samsung takes TOO MUCH.
I feel like ZenUI combines the best in all of the skins and features into 1 neat package that is highly customizable. NOT TO MENTION, you get tap 2 wake STOCK while I had to custom ROM custom Kernel my HTC in order to get a battery hungry and impractical version of it.
Just buy the phone, and make sure to get the 2.3GHz/4GB RAM version.
Enjoy

I'm running stock and get ALMOST what he's getting with stock kernel.
The key is to get root and uninstall/freeze any ASUS apps you don't need/use, install Xposed and use Greenify to freeze apps after they are closed, and finally, set proper battery options such as disabling WiFi & 4G when the screen is off. I need constant email notifications so with the automatic Data Disabling option, I set the GMAIL app as its exception and I continue to get notifications at 10 minute intervals. I assume it disables the networks but re-enables them momentarily and lets GMAIL sync, then disables again. I've never seen this done before especially as a STOCK option.

there is no battery draining (for now) when both are enable anyway, so I dont see why I should turn it off. The battery start draining fast as soon as Im using it. It is by far the worst battery life I ever got.
The good news is I can apparently return the phone at no cost, not even the shipping. I will know more next week. Hurray !

Poor battery life due to diagnostics.client.wakelock

I am currently running Marshmallow build N920AUCU2BPE5 and my biggest battery drain is Android System diagnostics.client.wakelock.
Anyone else getting this same wakelock? I have tried factory resetting, clear cache etc.. nothing seems to get help

Turning off Bluetooth stopped the WakeLock. Running a few tests to see if is related to Android Wear.
EDIT: Bluetooth wasn't the issue, Wakelock came back
Don't know if it's diagnostics.client.wakelock for sure, but having Android System drain, and doing some testing to see if it's Android Wear as well.

Still having issues with the particular Wakelock, ever tried ODIN flash back to Lollipop, Factory Reset/Delete Cache and then upgraded back to Mashmallow (Didn't do a Factory Rest or Delete Cache the first time I upgraded).
I created a new how to post here to show detailed process stats. Maybe someone else is having a similar issue and will have some idea on how to fix it.
What little information I have been able to dig up about 'diagnostics.client.wakelock' it appears to be a CarrierIQ issue. Which just really adds salt to the wound.

I generally opt out of any of that sort of stuff. Is there a way to Opt back in? Possibly could fix the issue.
Also updated to the newest release PE6 and am still seeing the same Wakelock.

I usually opt out as well.
I went into GSam, under App Usage, selected Android System. Then Manage, DiagMonAgent and force stopped it, and wakelocks have decreased dramatically for me (I also force stopped tuiService). Before it was being held awake about 90% of the time. I did this about 19 hrs ago, and it's only showing about 1 hr of wakelock. Of course, would have to do this after every reboot, if not more frequently.
I see both DiagMonAgent and tuiService in Disabler pro - can't you just disable them there? I'll try this and see if I notice any differences.
I have tried everything. It gets under control for maybe a half day then goes off again.

Sorry you're still having this problem. Only one other person (in this thread) seems to have reported having it too.
Does the problem occur after a factory reset even before you install any third-party apps?

Yep, appears before any 3rd party apps are installed. Tried several Factory Resets nothing seems to work.
I'm pretty sure the "diagandroid.iqd" process (Carrier IQ) is causing this. You can see it if you go into "Running services" then tap on "Android System". I haven't found any way to disable it.
By the way, regarding my previous wakelock problem cause by the CVS app: the app is now updated and no longer prevents the phone from deep-sleeping even when the app's in-store (BT-beacon) notifications are enabled.

Agreed, I have been trying to find a way to disable the Process but haven't been able to thus far.

GPS issues... ?

I never noticed GPS to be bad on stock rom or the update, or the update after that or this 3.2.1 but randomly within this past week I have. It will totally lose signal completely when driving in an area with full gps signal on my other phone also Att (s4). I have had numerous issues repeatedly daily with GPS. No locking or random no signal durations. Anyone else have bad GPS performance ?
I've been using mine everyday with no issues. I'm on 3.2.1 as well. Try downloading gps test and clearing and then updating the agps data. Might help. Hopefully it's not a hardware issue
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
I had exactly this issue, yesterday I updated to 3.2.1 let's see if it remains...
I even installed GPS test app...
António
I don't have any problems too. GPS fix within 5 seconds and rock solid. Longest tour I made was almost an hour with my car since OTA update to 3.2.1.
I have similar issue. I must wait 20 to 40s to have a Gps fix, with 4G+ / Wifi and gps high precision enabled.
Same problem with the gps..

I've got huge issues, too. I use GPS with the app Blitzer.de, it warns you from speed controls, and the phone is randomly loosing GPS connection at all. I've to restart the app then or if this does not work, I've to turn GPS off and on again. This happens every 10 min on average. It's really annoying me.
Please check this thread for a compromise solution. The issue will appear after 3-4 hours gps using. Clearing the cache will fix it for another 3-4 hours. But i think everyone has it. Its just not everyone use it so deep.

I hope it will be fixed in the next update. If there is someone, who got custom kernel and rom. I would appreciate, if you can tell us your experiences with the gps.

I come from a fresh installation of FreedomOS so I don't see any reason for resetting... I'm going to wipe the cache and see if that fixes it, but honestly I don't think so.
edit: This issue also happens with Pokemon GO, but at least fore me more rarely then with Blitzer.de ...

I come from a fresh installation of FreedomOS so I don't see any reason for resetting... I'm going to wipe the cache and see if that fixes it, but honestly I don't think so.

FreedomOS latest is based on OxygenOs 3.2.1 and the same kernel i think. So i could say, there is no difference between. On standard recovery you can wipe cache and data. Wiping cache will fix it for another 4 hours, for me. After that it's the same like you describe before. Restart will fix only for 5-10 minutes. Nothing else works. Maybe with a custom kernel / rom. Cyanogen or AOSP. Dont wanna root.

FreedomOS is OxygenOS with a custom installer In Linux firmwares are included in the kernel so a custom kernel could already fix it. I think the gps firmware in the stock rom/kernel has a bug.
People must not be noticing it quite yet, I'd expect this thread to be larger by now. How could each phone be different if they're all the same ? Oneplus fix my GPS!

The thing they replied me at the support is "you can ask for a replacement or a repair of your phone". Even if I linked the post here and the one on OnePlus Forum ...

I'm also confused why only a minority is complaining about this issue. Anyway I contacted OP support, they said that they are aware of it and it'll be fixed in the next update, but they could not tell me when the next update will come.

Strange cause that's absolutely not what they told me. Told me it's only a very few case and it's hardware default.
No issues here too :-/

The strange thing is, that the only few apps have this issue. I have gps on pokemon go for like 3 hrs or so and other apps like Blitzer.de dropping gps every 15 min.
I've ElementalX flashed now and see if it fixes the issue.

Usually Pokemon go works for me too but like today it didn't seems very random. On my drive to work gps did not work on PoGo, but the past week it's been fine.
Let us know what ElementalX kernel does for you.

Unfortunately ElementalX does not fix it Had two 15 min drives and in each of it I lost signal again. If this would happen with Pokemon GO, everybody would rage already

Best battery measuring app for OP5

All.
Yesterday I gave AccuBattery a try. An app loaded with information and stastics.
Anyway battery was 100% at 23:00hrs. Woke up at 03:00hrs (yes I'm an early riser) and battery was at 90%!???
Day previous battery hardly decreased during the night. (That's without AccuBattery installed)
Currently have greenify installed. Plus Boeffla kernel.
Surely AccuBattery must be the culprit?
What other apps are people using, that are effective and don't drain battery like nobody's business?

I've removed it since the original post.
I have Accubattery on my O+5. I used it also with my Axon 7 before. This phone always reported a high consumption of battery coming from Accubatery. Yet, I'm not sure it was really the case, the battery didn't seem to suffer from it.
Now, I think I'm going to try GSam and see how it goes. This software is vastlty used, seems to be pretty good at telling exactly how the battery is working, which app is using too much, and so on...
I wouldn't use Greenify with my O+5, I think it doesn't work well with Nougat. But I might be wrong.
I use BetterBatteryStats , it helped me a lot debunking the wakelocks and alarms associated to the huge wifi idle drain in the 4.5.5 update
And for the charge monitor I have the very good ChargeMonitor from XDA Apps --> https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/charge-monitor-t3555496
Just out of curiosity for those using Accubattery, what is your battery estimate? Mine is 3073mAh with of course the 3300mAh advertised.
Weird, I had a greater estimate on my Axon 7 when the battery was advertised as less (3250 advertised and an estimate at 3300mAh)

Hi. Do you have any issues with BetterBatteryStats after reboot ? In my case seems like its becomes broken.

No for me BBS works correctly after each reboot, but in the first place after the install I had to push it as a System App in order for him to work correctly

Thank you. Just went to setting, and tried to switch to system-app, but cannot do it. BBS suggested to install recovery zip. Did you installed zip or just used first option ?

Probably a bug from BBS
I choose "install as system app" , it also showed me the message that it failed and suggest to install via recovery zip but when rebooted I went to the app list and BBS was now successfully installed as a system app,
Absolutely off topic here.. but what are you using for the continuous screenshot?

It's a feature of the OP5
How to Take a Scrolling Screenshot on the OnePlus 5
Next, OnePlus offers a helpful “scrolling screenshot” feature. This takes continuous screenshots until you tell it to stop, allowing you to capture more than what you can see on the screen at any given moment. This is helpful for capturing an entire conversation of text messages, saving a full web page or long emails.
Press and Hold the Volume Down and Power button at the same time, then let go
You will see and hear the screenshot capture
Tap on Scrolling Screenshot on the bottom right side of the pop-up toolbar (rectangle phone icon)
The phone will scroll automatically and continuously take screenshots
Tap the screen to stop
Additionally, the OnePlus 5 will stop taking screenshots when it reaches a maximum file size or reaches the end of a page. Essentially it does all the work for you and is extremely convenient. It saves automatically, and now you can edit or share the screenshot like any other image.

Install 3C Toolbox.
See what applications are running in the background and how much CPU power they consume.
You do not use but still something works.... wrrrrrrr
