How to Lock the Screen with the Fingerprint? - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello everyone, I bought a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite recently and I'm missing an option. I wish I could lock the screen using fingerprint. just like I use to block. Are there any ways to do that?
I thank everyone.

Nope, only for unlock and slidedown gesture

this or double tap to lock would be perfect functions

Maybe it is a lousy advice, but try Nova launcher. You can use an option to lock screen on long press of main screen button - I'm using it right now it's quite useful.

Knock to Lock

Hey guys, loving this phone so far. Was wondering if there was an alternative to the double tap to lock feature if not using the stock lg g3 launcher. I am too accustomed to using nova and that is the only thing i can't get it to do anymore. ( I also like how i can use the "ok google" hotword from any screen while using nova) I can still use knock code and the double tap to turn on the screen, but i cant do it to lock the phone. Any suggestions? I have seen apps were i can tap the icon to lock and what not, just wondering if there is anything like the official lg feature where you can tap any open area on the home screen to lock the device. thanks!
If you stick to the stock launcher, a double tap locks the screen. Don't know any other launchers with that feature yet...
Edit: I got it to work in apex. Changed the behavior of a gesture and tired it to shortcuts--> activities--> soft lock
(Soft Lock) is an app I downloaded from the play store to test this.
I set it to double finger swipe up but you can set it to double tap too.
Good luck!

[Q] Nova ui, how to double tap screen off?

I like the stock ui feature of turning the screen off by double tapping. Does anyone know how to enable this feature under99th the nova ui, or a similar ui that has this feature..
Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
I'm using Nova, and the double tap works by tapping on the Status Bar.
Install the following app and configure the double tap in nova gesture to open it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock&hl=en
I made double tap activate my greenify+lock screen as an alternative

This works great thx
News:
Now Nova (prime of course) offers the knock off feature without any other app needed.

I'm trying this functionality.
I've smart lock with my smartwatch and I double tap to let the screen off when I double tap to turn it on it will ask me for pin.
Instead if I wait for time to screen off, when I double tap to let the screen on smart lock works.
Strange, I will write this to Nova...

turn screen off widget?

On my m7 (I used ported m9 rom) there was a widget called screen lock that was simply turning (and locking) screen off so I did not have to inconvenience myself by pressing power button.
Now I have HTC 10 and cannot find anything like this. I even I tried few different apps from Google Play but none of them worked OK with finger print scanner.
Is this just me being blind and stupid or there is no such a widget for HTC 10?

might want to try the elemental X or elite kernels, they both have swipe2sleep. you swipe certain area of screen and it shuts down the screen
cleanslate kernel has double tap fingerprint to shut down screen
You can also remap capacitive keys to perform various functions flashing Xposed framework and GravityBox. I mapped my 'back' key to put my phone to sleep with a long press.

The 10 has double tap to sleep built in, is that not enough?
Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
Double tap to sleep works only from locked screen? Tried double tap on free space on my home screen and nothing happens. At least on my phone. So it not enough. In fact I think it's completely useless as I would have to lock screen first then double tap to turn screen off. Or am I misunderstanding something?
I do not want to root or flash custom rom, not yet at least. I was hoping there is going to be less "invasive" way to do it.

Coming from the M9 here, they allowed you to configure the 4th button to lock the screen. The screen lock widget works for me, but the unlock was strange (don't recall how), so I stopped using it. Now I just set it for 15 second timeout and it locks itself.
One of the few things I don't like about the 10. The other is that I can't configure the "quick keys" that swipe down from the top of the screen.
I use both Nova launcher gesture, and greenify widget to turn screen off, but, you can't use fingerprint scanner to unlock, you need to unlock using pin/pattern

You can, if you are rooted and have Tasker or a similar app installed.
You just set up the Nova gesture to run the Tasker shell command (with root privileges):
Code:
input keyevent 26
I have double tap to sleep and a long press of the home button to sleep set up. I only have to use my fingerprint to wake and unlock the device.
Theres one app that can achieve this without root on stock rom. Its called Screen Lock Pro. Its the only app i found that supports smart lock on marshmallow.
What that means? On all other screen off and lock apps ive tried i had to enter my pin instead of being able to use my fingerprint to unlock. The reader was locked every time. With Screen Lock Pro and the option "Smart lock and Nexus imprint" in settings activated i can turn off my 10 with a tap on an icon (homescreen) OR by pressing and holding the home button (i replaced google now on tap with Screen Lock Pro).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iglint.android.screenlockpro&hl=de
Sadly its not for free, but you can try out the app and return it (refund) if you dont like it.

Sorry, forgot to mention this, you have to use the app "home launcher" and set it to launch screen lock pro. Home launcher can be set as the "help app" when you long press the home button. It replaces Google now then.

Sorry again, missed something in the name, the app is called "home button launcher". Search for it in the play store, youll find it. It has a rocket in its icon.
Once installed you have to navigate to the following menu:
Settins -> Apps -> the three dots top right -> configure apps -> standard apps -> Help and voice input -> help app
This should be set to the google app. Change it to home button launcher...when you long press the home button now it launches the app. Now just configure home button launcher with screen lock pro (remove all apps in the list except screen lock pro). Now go into settings from home button launcher and check the box "auto start mode if only one app selected". Youre good to go.
P.S. I had to translate the menus, since im on a german device, hopefully its not to far off from reality
When you read the reviews of screen lock pro it turns out it only darkens screen to maximum and then waits for time out to lock the screen, apparently it's easily visible when it's dark as backlight is still visible.
Good effort, kudos to devs but I read there is a problem when trying to unlock phone before the timeout locks the phone. Most of the times this will not be a problem but just wanted to highlight the side-effect of this solution.
I think I will live with default settings, and keep pressing power button, until I root phone / someone finds a way to do proper screen lock working with fingerprint.

Try this app : Applock- Fingerprint
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sp.protector.free&hl=en
The above mentioned app by IlD4nX is also gud....But it opens the fingerprint screen if the app u have locked recieves a notification....
For ex if whatsapp is locked...It will open fingerprint screen if u receive whatsapp message even if u r in other apps....
A solution will be to use on screen home/back/recent, than the capacitive home button will work just like fingerprint reader.

Best fingerprint app lock one plus 3 with no delay in locking
Hi Guys,
This is only best app lock for one plus which locks app with no delay. I have tried each and every app lock available in playstore for one plus 3 but all have same issue. App lock happens with delay and first app screen is shown then fingerprint lock screen appears which is very bad.
Sharing link of the best fingerprint app lock for one plus 3
Search this in playstore - AppLock - Fingerprint - (sorry i m new user so xda not allowing me to post url)
There are many apps with fingerprint support. Which one is the best and fast?

unpin screen with gestures

hi, i've been using gestures since i buy this phone, but i have this problem that i can't unpin screen, cause it says "press and hold home and the power button at the same time"... is there a way to do this with gestures? i know it may be stupid ahaha but i can't find a way, thanks in advance.
Can't unpin app when using guesture navigation.
I am using a Huawei Mate 20 Pro, using gesture navigation, and I have found that to unpin an app you have to swipe from the side, as if you were going back, but hold it instead of releasing it. Then it will take you to the lock screen. Hope this helps.
